  1. Haven't posted a kitty pic in a while, and I just know that you've all been waiting breathlessly for one, so here you go - Her favorite morning spot.
  2. Holy smokes, really? Did you order from the store or from QVC? We ordered from the store and were given a 12-4 window. They, of course, were a man down, so had to do some juggling to find someone, and ended up getting here pretty close to 4pm. It did take the two of them nearly 2 hrs, but it felt rushed, because the driver/lead man needed to get his helper back somewhere else or something. Anyway, I told them on the feedback survey that I felt rushed and would have like a more relaxed experience, considering the $$ spent. I don't blame you for insisting on a more reasonable time frame. They'll figure it out.
  3. I don't like the name I picked, but didn't plan on becoming a 'regular', lol. Now I almost feel like I shouldn't change it. It's not that serious I guess, either way.
  4. I do wish you luck! As to the name - I may change it, but when I first discovered this site, it was as a result of a search regarding a QVC host. I then discovered the Shopping Channel Shows forum, and the name is meant to mock a particular 'designer' who describes everything as 'super super this' and 'super super that'. The Elevated part is also a word which is over used by the hosts on a particular channel. As to the bed. I will admit that it wasn't the automatic homerun that we thought it would be, there is definitely (for us anyway) an adjustment period. Some of our break-in stuff has to do with the split king aspect, so you won't experience that. The installer told us that we shouldn't sit on the edge of the bed, because it's only a piece of foam that surrounds the air chamber, and it will break down prematurely if we do that. (My hubs and I are larger people, so I'm not sure if everyone gets this same directive). Because we have only one remote (of course the hubs got that), my side is operated via the Sleep Number App. For the most part, it's worked well, but there has been a couple of occasions that it wouldn't communicate with the bed and I had to go around and get his remote. The remote and the app can operate either/both sides of the bed, just not simultaneously, at least on the model we bought. Only one motor, so one side at a time for inflating as well as operating the head/foot function. Now for the good news. My early morning wake-up backaches have all but disappeared! Like you, hubs and I didn't have the same needs in a mattress, and I have been miserable for the past few years. He now needs to elevate his head in order to sleep, so the Sleep Number seemed like a perfect solution. It has definitely been a solution, though not perfect. I seriously doubt that there is a perfect solution. I can tell you that we are getting more used to it every night, and I understand why they have a 100 night trial period. Just have an open mind. Your experience might be completely different. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
  5. I don't remember who it was, or if it was this thread vs. SC, but someone said they purchased a Sleep Number bed early this year, and I just wondered if it was a split king like we bought. We've changed the bed 4 times now, and it's damn near killing me, lol. The twin mattress sections are actually screwed to the frame from underneath, so there is only a small bit around the perimeter (maybe 4-5") to tuck under the fitted sheet. I have to bend/lean over the one side to try and place the other side's sheets down the center. It's awkward as hell, and exhausting frankly. Just wondered if she had any tips. We did the split king because hubs needs to sleep more elevated than I, due to his lung surgery. I'm beginning to wish we had just bought a standard king. If anyone has advice, I'm a sponge.
  6. I didn't settle on mine for probably 10 or 15 years after getting married, with lots of trial and error. Meatloaf is not a meal I would have made as a single, though I like it. Hubs and I have decided that we prefer brown gravy over a ketchup recipe. I've never mixed the two, though I bet you could. One of my little signature add-ins is a small can of creamed corn, both for moisture and veggie content. We're not fans of peppers here.
  7. Ground beef mixes become tough when you overwork them. For me, I mix mine with a bit of ground pork, and the usual ingredients, but just try not to over mix, and you'll probably notice a difference. Same with meatballs.
  8. I am also aggravated by this. I'm actually aggravated by the commercial equipment that pervades my "empty nester" neighborhood on a normal week, so the holidays really bug me. That stuff is so damn loud! Sounds like airplanes taking off and landing. Because we're in a sub where everyone contracts their own lawn service (or does their own like me), we have it nearly every day of the week. I know, 1st world problem, but still.
  9. I'm thinking Mark Charles M had something for cut fruit/veggies. Like a stretchy silicone or something that you put over the cut side. Sounds awesome!
  10. Holy going postal! So sorry you had to experience that. Stuff of nightmares for sure.
  11. That rinse 'n spit image had to be something indeed! lol So glad you're feeling better. Sorry for tempting your sweet tooth! Stick with it girlie~
  12. A couple of weeks ago, I posted a short-cut cobbler type recipe. Here's another similar desert that doesn't look like it could get any easier: http://www.allcuteallthetime.com/this_cherry_pie_bubble_up_casserole_is_everything_you_could_ever_want_in_a_dessert
  13. 1. Call dentist back and get a script. 2. Have someone fetch you some Orajel - it's temporary, but it helps 3. Warm, not hot, Sleepy Time tea
  14. I would imagine that rule is in place to try and mitigate any damages done by folks sharing their salary/benefit package with current employees, providing them fodder for their next contract negotiations. I would venture to say it's probably an unsuccessful tactic. It would seem to me that if LR has a non-compete that prevents her from communicating with former co-workers, it would also prevent her from selling jewelry/clothing via social media/website? Given that she also highlights products currently being sold on the Q (clearly with compensation of some sort), seems like that would be a violation, if she is indeed under contract of some sort. Perhaps current employees have simply requested that she refrain from posting photos/discussing them while they are currently employed by the Q, just to avoid any semblance of impropriety. This is really just uninformed babbling on my part. Thinking out loud, lol.
  15. Never the former employer nor the competition do you trash. You could need them one day, but besides that, it's incredibly unprofessional and says more about you than them.
  16. It does sort of look like those paper chains we made for Christmas trees back in elementary school.
  17. K, you owe me a new laptop. Yes, and though I'm not a terribly religious person, if you choose to have your wedding in a church, some of these gowns shouldn't even be covering the tables in the basement bingo room. That has got to be the strangest damn thing I've ever seen. I had forgotten how odd it was, lol.
  18. If anyone is interested, here is an 'album' of Pippa Middleton's wedding photos, courtesy TMZ. Her niece and newphew are the cutest darn kiddos! Her dress was fabulous! I wish the style would be come back in style - I'm tiring of the strapless look. http://www.tmz.com/2017/05/20/pippa-middleton-james-matthews-wedding/?adid=hero1
  19. I am a Fleetwood Mac, emphasis on Stevie Nicks, super fan, and I love this duet! What I know about Harry Styles and his former boy band you could write on the head of a pin, but I am impressed by his vocals here. There are 2 video snippets - the 2nd is one of my favorite FM songs - http://www.tmz.com/2017/05/20/harry-styles-and-stevie-nicks-leather-and-lace-sing-together-troubadour/?adid=hero3
