  1. Love the itty bitty tip of Merlin's tongue showing, lol. Wow Tiftgirl, what an amazing story! I didn't know about Chewy's service level, but I am thrilled to hear of it. That is awesome. So glad you conquered your anxiety enough to share it with us, and hope you're able to join in again soon!
  2. My Onyx can be Onnie, Pooh Bear, Poo Poo, Bear, Punkin', Boo Bears, or if I'm really pissed Onyx Marie! My Pearl can be Pearl Girl, Sis, Sissy or Pearl. Guess which one has the big personality? lol Since it's been a while, and photos are allowed here...
  3. Thank you. Thank you very much. (said in my best Elvis) p.s.: nice kitty
  4. @Coffeecup - Really feel badly about your nightmare experience with the PET. My only question is if there is any alternative diagnostic test that can tell the Docs what they need to know? I know with treating cancer, the attempt to cure is so harsh on the body. As far as we have come in this area, I'm hopeful that the medical community can keep on pushing for less invasive, dangerous 'cures'. I hope your tests reveal things that are favorable to you. Hoping you feel better very soon.
  5. Oh, okay. For me we have a ranch, so no steps in the door. I use Cat's Pride Fresh 'n Light, and for the 15# jug, it was $7.50 on Chewy, and I bought enough for us and for my mom, to qualify for free shipping. Had it in 2 days. May have been on sale, can't remember.
  6. I donate to a local cat rescue org. I have the add-on up on my address bar.
  7. We are too. Must think we'll answer if we feel like kindred spirits, lol. Nah.
  8. Up until about a year ago, I never got any on my cell. That changed, and I don't know which outfit I provided my number to, that changed it. On my cell, I use the HIYA app, which is caller ID, offers call blocking, will automatically block suspected spam/telemarketers, and also shows feedback from other recipients of these calls. It's a good, free app if anyone is looking for one for their cell. That said, it's apps like these that have prompted these spammers to spoof local and legit numbers, to avoid the block. Still don't answer calls if an ID doesn't pop up, from a known contact. If they need me, they'll leave a message!
  9. Don't know what you use, but I have been buying on Chewy.com, saving $1.50 per 15# tub from local grocery price, plus free delivery over certain $$. The Fed Ex drivers have a voodoo doll of my image in their truck I think, lol. They ship 45# per box, so I open them on the porch and bring the individual containers inside, the take the cardboard to the local recycle hopper down the street.
  10. Don't have a LL any longer, but I get them on my cell. I just don't answer an unknown number. Harder maybe on a LL, unless you have Caller ID. You're right, the No Call List is a joke. My advice would be to just not answer. Any caller/relative with something important to say will leave a message. I sometimes wonder if these douche nozzles get bonuses if we actually pick up the call. Sorry you're not feeling yourself. Get better!
  11. Absolutely right! There is nothing on their agenda that is more important than servicing the customer.
  12. Congratulations on 35 years! What a blessing. Glad you're feeling better.
  13. That look says "I'm here for you Mom". I'm not a very good prayer, but if you'll take my well wishes and positive thoughts, I give them freely. I wish things could be different, but for now I wish you strength and clarity and good sleep! Be well.
  14. When I'm in the right frame of mind (today, not so much), I could spend hours in there just getting ideas if nothing else. They are most certainly NOT the least expensive place to buy some of their stuff, but they are great for last minute stuff, or if you just don't want to screw with the innerwebs. I'm trying to design the decor for a granddaughter's bridal shower, and it's tough to do on line when you cant see, feel the stuff and judge sizes, etc. For me it is. I officially separated from Facebook about 3 wks ago, and have taken my Twitter consumption down to almost nothing. Like you, I was spending far too much time consuming negative bullchit. My contributions on the other thread are down also. I'm not a saint, I've said mean things, but I cannot and will not hold a candle to some of it. Thankfully.
  15. When the friggin store manager ignores a line full of customers, wanting to give their hard-earned money to her employer, and she ignores them because she has a report to do. That's one time...but I could go on. Wow, this seems late to be finishing up? Ours have been done since last week of May.
  16. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2017/06/15/us-open-blimp-flying-near-golf-tournament-crashes.html# What the fresh hell is going on? I'm stabby too. Just left the glue gun hell hole that is Hobby Lobby, shopping in 80+ degree heat for over an hour, dripping wet, get to the checkout line (now 6 carts deep), hear the cashier call for help over the PA 3 times, to no avail. The manager shows up to help her void a transaction, then proceeds to walk away...and the Irish/German redhead in me kicked in. I yelled, yes yelled at her to tell me where she would like me to leave my cart full of ($160 bucks) merchandise, since she wasn't interested in taking my money, and apparently no one else was either. She sweetly invited me over to lane 12 (we were in lane 1) and checked me through. We finished as besties.
  17. For those interested, Costco has glass L & L style containers. Haven't price compared, just passing it on - 18-piece-Glass-Food-Storage-Set
  18. We are apparently missing the Storage gene. I think it's located in the 18th chromosome. I'm probably wrong, but I've always kind of thought that the staleness is caused by the air that's in the container when the lid closes, not so much air getting in after the fact. I know some cheaper stuff doesn't seal well at all, I think the ones you mentioned do a pretty good job.
  19. Lock & Lock "clearance" stuff for you fans - dunno if they're deals, just passing it on SaleAndClearence
  20. Yeah, he's a real forward thinker. I can just imagine how well the earth below Southern California will stand up to a tunnel dig. Maybe they'll get that secession they're wanting, courtesy of The Boring Company.
  21. I figure I've got 25-30 years of driving left, depending on a lot of factors. I shudder to think what lies ahead in this arena. I picture myself being driven around by an invisible chauffeur, which could be cool, but then I always have the image of a semi smashing into the side of the car because the car's brain had a fart and pulled out in front of it. There I go, overthinking again.
  22. new-chevrolet-bolt-autonomous-evs I haven't heard one single person, of any age, say that they're anxious to own a self-driving automobile, yet all we keep hearing is how the motor companies are forging their way into this segment. I firmly believe that the insurance industry/lobby is pushing this with all of their considerable might, with the idea that this will save them money on accidents. I have my doubts. I know that I won't always be able to drive, but I love to do it, and with all of the hacking of digital technology, I can hardly see how this could be considered a safer/less expensive way to go. But I'm old so...
  23. I'm perhaps saddest about what the reaction will be to this shooting.
