  1. We just binge watched the whole season in 3 days.  Overall I loved it!  Probably Aniston's best work.  The 1st time her character didn't seem like a variation of Rachael Green (even with her little tip toe run after Bradley/Reese!).  Kudo's Jennifer!

Honestly I can't stand Reese Witherspoon and agree that the wigs were pathetic.  My dislike of her almost stopped me from watching.  She still annoys me but was playing someone annoying, so it worked.

Billy/Corey was fabulous!  You know deep down he's a total d@ck, but had great flashes of humanity even though you know he has his own agenda.  Loved him!

Does anyone think Hannah could have been murdered? I agree they made her look fragile towards the end, but I still wonder.

Did you prefer one season over another?  I love Brit series. Sundance Now streaming doesn't have a big library but I watched some really good stuff there. Some good Aussie series too.

Since we watched them all in a row, it's hard to say which season is better, but totally agree about Brit series.  Broadchurch is the only one whose name I remember, but there have been a few American remakes of British and Aussie series that I watched.  They were ok, but after watching the American versions, I went back and watched the originals and they were always better.  The US versions are usually flashier and prettier, but the writing is so much better on the originals.  And this is coming from an American.

  3. We binge watched the whole thing over a week long period and really enjoyed it!  Would think it would be hard to remember the first season after so long.  British shows, for the most part are superior to American.

  4. I got sucked in and kept watching although I didn't really find any of the leads likable or even showing many redeeming qualities.  As an adopted person, I'm really disgusted that she stole Mae Ling/Mirabelle back.  I feel for her but that should not be applauded.  The only ones I liked were Pearl and Izzy.

  5. This is kind of a hard watch!  On the positive side, it does have me sucked in, wanting to know what happens, but none of the adult main characters are even remotely likable!  So far, the only ones with redeeming qualities are Izzy, Pearl and Trip.

  6. This was a pretty fun watch!! Campy and over the top but kind of an entertaining show to lose yourself in while I'm Netflixed out!

Seems like will be one of those where you can't give it too much thought or the ridiculousness will make you crazy!

This season sucked, like really, really sucked is what I am trying to say. Even the plots I was kind of interested in kind of just petered out, or went off the rails. I dont even know why this is even a thing anymore.

It really did!!  It's hard for me to drop a show once I'm into it, but if it comes back, I might give it a pass.

I feel like there a really obvious “this season really went out with a bang” joke in here somewhere...

Guilty!!  I said that to my hubby and he rolled his eyes so hard I thought he was going to have an aneurysm!

With few exceptions, this entire season made me mourn seasons 1 & 2.  I won't be holding my breath for season 4.  As someone ^ said, lazy writing ruled the day season.

Agree!!  It's like watching a different show from 1&2, and not in a good way!

The Chairman got Monica to serve as a police decoy after a serial killer rapist. I would guess they didn't have real proof but he had to be a suspect going in. It doesn't make sense that they knew of a serial killers dumping ground but had not recovered his victims so I can only guess that they were over the horizon  ready to ponce and when his truck stopped the sniper rushed to his spot. But none of this was told to us in order for the audience to be more afraid for Monica before the shock of blood splatter hit.

I don't think the ranch hands died, there is just another force out there  showing they as willing to fight as Dutton is to deploy his branded men on a dirty mission. But neither side is willing to back down or use lethal force yet..

Thank you!  I totally missed the Monica subplot!!  I need to watch again.

Welcome back the wicked side of Beth! At least fire her after she cleaned up the mess!

Way too late for John to set boundaries with Beth.

Oh! Hell No! The sniper and police knew the killer was going to stop at that location to attack. Were the people in the red car in on the sting too and didn't stop to pick up Monica?

Monica doesn't read the papers? Doesn't seem right for a college professor. How fortunate Rainwater had one available.

Light stuff first::  That last scene with John/Beth had me rolling!  "I Love our man to man talks but I can't unhear that honey"  LMAO!!  That made all the crazy shit happening before worth sitting through!

    So many questions:

Can someone explain the Monica scene?  Do we know who that guy was that picked her up?  How did they just happen to have a sniper sitting there with rifle ready to shoot??  And then 6-7 cop cars show up in the middle of nowhere?  I feel like I missed a big chunk of that plot line.

The Wade scene with them skinny dipping:  What was that about?  Did he kill them?  I'm sure he was sending John a message but it seemed so random.

I will probably watch again as there was a lot of chatter going on during the episode so I feel like I missed important parts.

  12. I don't mind going down in flames if I'm wrong but I think Wade will turn out to be Jamie's father.  They've thrown a few clues.  Wade was in prison and they have really bad history.  John throwing out that his birth father is still out there and he can decide who he calls his father.

To get even more "out there" I think the season will end with Wade and Jamie teaming up against John & family.

Jamie being adopted is quite a turn of events. Even if his life was better growing up as a Dutton, I can see why he would feel betrayed that his "father" hid it from him all these years. One thing I didn't understand was how is this the first time he ever needed a copy of his birth certificate? Didn't he need one when he got a driver's license? Went to college? Law school? Applied for a passport? Filled out an I-9 for a job? It seemed strange to me that a 40 year old would never have seen his birth certificate before.

I love this show, but they need better research on so many things!!  I'm adopted and upon the finality, a new birth certificate is issued with your new parents names.  You have to file for an original and it takes weeks.  You also have to know you're adopted in order to do it.  They could have handled this realistically so many different ways and it would have been just as powerful.  UGH!

With the way Rip walks towards guns, not sure Beth will get the "out live me" promise. Loved that "proposal" scene with Beth giving him a black totally Rip style ring, but  they can't legally marry because Rip can't file a license due to his having no existence? How does he have a drivers license? Does he have a drivers license?

I must have forgotten some of the Rip backstory.  Why isn't there any paper trail of his existence?

  15. WOW!!  So Jamie

    Spoiler

     is adopted!!

That actually makes sense to the point I don't know why I didn't think of it before.

The scene with Beth & John about her marrying Rip was really sweet!!  I even got a little choked up.  The scenes between those two are some of the best in the show.  KC's acting  has certainly not declined with age.  He's amazing!

ETA:  I wonder if the Jamie storyline has anything to do with Wade?

That's what many have speculated. But geez, that'd be silly of Sheridan or whoever wrote these past couple of episodes not to have done enough research to know that getting tubes tied is not the same as having a hysterectomy, even if the end result may be the same.

Odds are that Beth has seen a gynecologist at least once as an adult so one would think she'd definitely know whether she had a hysterectomy or a tubal ligation. Also, with the former she'd have stopped having periods and with the latter she'd still have them. Hard to imagine she'd use the wrong expression to refer to what was done to her unless she's been utterly clueless about her own body since she was a teenager.

Wouldn't it be something if, when Rip eventually finds out what happened, he's the one who helps her figure out that she might still be able to have a kid if she's still got ovaries?

Well that's just it.  This story line which could have been amazing, with some more forethought and research is such an epic fail!!  It should have all been out in the open and known to the family YEARS ago!  Even if John was a shit father over grief from losing his wife.  I can't imagine Beth is in her 30's and never had a gynie appointment. She was young, so not getting a period isn't something that she would have kept to herself when she was that age. The stupid way they did it makes it totally unbelievable!

  18. Is it possible they just tied Beth's tubes?  That seems more likely than such a major operation, like a hysterectomy is, especially 20 years ago, as others have stated.

It might even be possibly reversible.  Wonder is that would be a plot line down the road, although I do think Beth would be a horrible mother unless she went through some serious counseling and lifestyle changes.

Not Jaime's finest moment with Beth.

There is nothing Jamie can say to Beth at this point, so he'll try anyway with this: "I should have said no. That's what I should have done. Because then you couldn't blame me for doing exactly what you asked me to do".

For 30 something years, I find it hard to believe John didn't get a sense something was wrong between Beth and Jamie. Did he think it was siblings playing when she was beating on him mentally and physically? He claims to know what goes on around there.

That whole situation is just sad!  I feel a little for Jaimie here though because he was barely more than a kid himself.  The magnitude of that couldn't possibly be realized as a teenager.

But why is all this coming to light now???  It seems rather disingenuous, especially that John didn't know anything about it, as you said.

Kind of disappointed John didn't hit him, just on general principle.

    This show's a mess. But I'm enjoying it. I don't know.

I hear ya!!  But I still keep watching!  I love the Jake and Kevin story lines.  Jake tries to be a tough guy but he would just love a real family.  Kevin is such a cutie!  Getting tired of Ronnie and Emmett.
