I do hope this is wrapped next week.  I have no problem with extended storylines like this but you don't need a cartoon villain.  As much as I like Dylan McDermott his Richard was over the top and not in a good way.  Sometimes it was funny but most of the time it was just annoying like he needed to be reigned in.

I love Dylan McDermott and was so glad he would have a recurring role this season.  BUT, he is over the top in a cartoon villain way, like you said.  But I still like to watch him.

Put them together. As annoying as the Stabler spawn collective is, I hope they make them so damned miserable that there is never any peace or happiness. UGH. LOL! (I mean, I'd be on the Stabler spawns' side there. Kathy was their mother!)

As for the rest, about what I expected. The subway showdown was kinda fun. And yeah, an officially-official fare thee well, Gina. I liked Bell's speech to Wheatley's son, Richie, about how he never deserved Gina's kindness towards him.

I thought it was a great episode before that.  There is no need for Her to ever be mentioned again!

  3. Oh, FFS!  That little scene with Jay and Upton, literally made me gag!  They need to pick a lane for Upton's character.  She was going to the dark side for 2 seasons.  Then she turns into Polly Purebred in her scene with Voight.  And her asking Jay to get married was pukeworthy.  It's like there are new people writing for her every week with no clue who she is. UGH!

  4. Of all 3 Chicago shows, this was the best finale.  But, as much as I don't want any of them to die, it's pretty farfetched that they all survive.  If it's wrapped up in the first 5 minutes of the new season, that's pretty lame.

      Reveal spoiler

Ah , was really hoping for a twist with Gina and that she was not going to die which was telegraphed from the moment she was introduced. I knew she would die even if she was just a girlfriend and not a cop.  Is there any hope that the supposed "rat" saved her while he was "cleaning up the mess?"

I am trying to understand why telling someone that you want someone else to suffer is considering "ordering a hit."  But I missed the first 10 minutes so I don't know what she actually did.  It just seemed in her later conversation with Stabler she and Richard had a conversation and he said Stabler killed her son and did she want him dead, and she said "no I want him to suffer."  What are they holding her on? For wishing someone was dead?

Love Steve Harris...so good to see him.  Will he have any episodes with Dylan McDermott???!!

I wonder if it's like when you kill someone in the commission of another crime, like a robbery, it's felony murder?  She wanted him to suffer so even if she didn't want him to die, she knew there would be an illegal act committed?  But I agree, it seems weak.

I hope we get to see Dylan and Steve together!!  I always though SH was so talented.  LOVED Eugene! I got such a 90's flashback when I saw him.  Maybe other Practice cast members will show up!

  6. I'm really enjoying this show.  But I'm done with the old Benson/Stabler crap crossovers.  Hope those are over!  They need to let it sink or swim on it's own.

I didn't think Richie would actually kill Gina.  She was a good character and I'm bummed that her run is over.

Dylan McDermott is a good villain and nice to see Steve Harris from The Practice show up!

  7. I actually enjoyed this episode.  It wasn't perfect but at least entertaining.  I rarely watch this show live, so I can fast forward through the silly crap, but glad I did.  It's interesting to see what happened to an old case.

But as someone said, it looks like this guy is the William Lewis in Rollin's life.  More drama to come I'm sure....................

  8. I actually enjoyed this episode and seeing Miller break was heartbreaking.  She was determined to do things the right way without realizing the possible consequences.  In hindsight, she would have probably been ok with Voigt doing things his way, but who knew?  Surprised at the ending which was a nice change from a roll in the sack with Voight Jr. and Jay.  Very little Upton which is always nice!

For once I had an ounce of respect for Emily with deciding on the spot not to dump her problems on EZ when she realized he was leaving with Gaby.  And then actually leaving Galindo.  Galindo is all alone for now. He of course deserves so much worse.

If there was ever much doubt I think this season solidified that EZ is never going this show alive.

YES!!  Not a big Emily fan, but when shit hits the fan, she's no shrinking violet.  EZ is a goner.  That was probably decided before the show even aired :(  There will be no happy endings here.

Just saw a sneak peek on Yahoo and Burgess is now driving a Lexus.  When she brought Makayla home just a few episodes ago she was driving a Mercedes.  Just how much money is she making?

Just was about to post the same thing!

As a South Asian woman who has been called "exotic" and "pretty" (you hear the quotes...trust me) by white men and women, I felt Gaby's words about what that means.  I also hear it for the underlined putdown that it kind of is.

Really?  That is interesting and sad.  I have no idea what your experience is, but I thought that was a weird comment by her.  I would have thought Emily meant it sincerely.  Blue eyed blondes are a dime a dozen, so that would have never occurred to me that it was accurate.  Thanks for another perspective.

While I've been predicting Emily will turn on Miguel, I guess it's going to be the other way around, eventually.  I really thought he was going to strangle her for reals because he knows Emily has been in touch with EZ and involved in Dita's death.

Emily had no clue how close she came to dying!!  When she crawled all over him afterwards talking about how effing hot that was, I literally LOL'd!

    • Emily?  Girl, bye.
    • Galindo doesn't earn his swagger for me.  Mr. 50 Shades "just because I make you cum doesn't mean I give a shit if you die" was set to accomplish what?  I'm actually not sure what they are trying to do with Galindo, except that he is unraveling and in this world, that weakness is going to spell problems for this cartel.

DITTO, DITTO,DITTO!  That Emily scene was pathetic!  Especially since it appears her and Mikey kissed and made up last week.  He is seriously losing it!  Also, does anyone else think it's weird that he went to see EZ's father and didn't kill him for messing with his mother?  He seemed a little too calm there.

  14. I know there was a case smashed between the Halstead/Upton saga but it got lost.  That "relationship" is stomach turning!🤢  And zero follow up to Ruzek slamming the door in Burgess's face last time.

  15. I didn't read all the comments, so I'm sure others have echoed my sentiments, but that situation with Kody and Meri, really is gross!!  And why she wants to kiss that piece of crap is just beyond me.  Those "date" scenes were actually painful to watch.

I am not Emily's biggest fan, but I feel really bad for her. She seems so sad and lonely especially now that Miguel is not only having an affair but wont give her the time of day. I actually like her sister more than I thought I would, her chasing off the slurpie guy and then she and Emily laughing about her dumb insult was the most Emily has smiled in a long time.

Totally agree and that scene was actually painful to watch.  Good acting, because you could feel how he was just disgusted by her and I found it really sad.  He's not even trying to hide it.

Season 21 episode 12 "The Longest Night of Rain"

    Thank you!

ETA:  I just watched this on Hulu and somehow I totally missed this episode.  But last season was so bad, I guess I just tuned out.  Tucker even had a new wife!

  18. About 30 minutes in, I got a phone call that I had to take.  I wasn't terribly engrossed in the episode and after reading the comments, probably won't watch the rest.

How did I miss that Tucker killed himself?????  Does anyone know what episode?? I must have gotten used to skimming through this show because I have no recall of that at all!
