  1. Has Alicia Keys ever looked better than she did in this episode? I've never thought she was particularly attractive, but she looked bangin' here. It's hard to imagine her as singing 'sorority girl breakup songs', just because her music in real life is nothing like that. I can't picture her as a Kesha/Nicki Minaj type. I agree with everyone that having Jamal kiss Alicia was bullshit. I was hoping the character would stay gay and not be retconned into being bisexual, pansexual, etc. I really liked Michael, and I wanted the two of them to work out just to have an example of a healthy gay relationship on a popular network TV show. But then Michael cheated and now Jamal is making moves on females, so yeah...that isn't happening. I also hate what they're doing to Anika. The character was such a stealth, smart bitch in the first season, but now she's being completely changed. Not a fan. Lucious continues to be my least favorite character. He's just so tiresome. Cookie looked fierce as fuck on the streets of Philly. Her hair, the outfit- it was all working for me. Get rid of Laura and bring back Tiana.
  2. I feel the exact opposite. She's literally the only character I care about on this show, and once she's gone, so am I.
  3. As far as I'm concerned, the show is over if they kill Chanel. For me, she is the show. JLC was the MVP this episode, though. Her entire sequence was perfect. Denise was killing it in her Chanel-inspired outfit. Loved it.
  4. I guess I'm in the minority, because I loved that there wasn't much Chad in this episode. He just annoys the shit out of me. I don't think he's funny or cute.
  5. I kinda liked Feather, so I didn't really mind the focus on her. I knew it was actually Dean Munsch who killed her husband as soon as he turned up dead, though- it obviously wasn't Feather since we saw her arrive home and find his body, and I figured it wasn't the RDK either. The dream with Chanel #2 was fun. I loved the bit about there being no dinosaurs in Hell. But yeah, Ariana's acting is...odd. I love her music, but I've never seen her in anything but this, so I have no idea if she's a bad actress or if this is a stylistic choice. I agree about Grace and Pete being boring as fuck. It's weird- I've liked both actors in other roles, but in this show they just suck the energy out of every scene they're in. Did anyone else appreciate the irony of Grace trying to improve Gigi's wardrobe?
  6. I don't believe in violence, but I almost feel like that pushy fan got what she deserved. Juliette was so obviously upset - I mean, she was visibly crying, and her hair, clothes & makeup were a hot ass mess, which is the total opposite of what she always looks like in public - and that fan ran up to her and started waving her phone in Juliette's face without nicely asking Juliette for a picture or considering her feelings. I don't totally blame Juliette for snapping. Granted, that's something you have to deal with when you're so famous, but still. Hayden is absolutely killing this shit. The storyline makes me uncomfortable, in light of everything she's going through in real life, but I hope she's handsomely rewarded when awards season rolls around. She fucking deserves it. At this point, she's the only actor on this show I give a shit about.
  7. Totally. I just don't care for his voice- every time he sings, it's seemingly coated in Auto-tune and pitch correction, much more so than any of the other musicians on the show. And I don't think he has much charisma as a performer. I'd rather they give more performance time to the actors who actually do, like Hakeem or Tiana.
  8. I loved that Chanel #1 saved Zayday and then said it was only because having more people around will improve her odds of surviving. This was a much better episode than last week, which was my least favorite thus far. I still hate that they aren't killing off any of the main cast, though. All of the deaths this week were minor characters that I don't give a shit about. Even though I like her, I was actually hoping the Red Devil would kill Chanel #5 in that scene, too, just because that would have raised the stakes a bit. As of now, I feel like the leads are totally safe. I agree that Sam's acting in her death scene was pretty terrible. I thought she was decent in the other episodes, so I don't know what happened there. The only thing I'll miss about her is her "relationship" with Chanel #3- they were actually pretty cute/funny together. Can they please get rid of Chad soon? I know I'm in the minority here, but I. can't. stand. him. I don't think he's hot, or funny, or any of that shit- he's just annoying, and he's easily my least favorite character. Knock him off and beef up Earl, who I think is adorable. Hell, I'll even take more Pete. I missed Gigi and Denise.
  9. According to People, Juliette's PPD storyline was developed long before Hayden gave birth. So, it's good to know that the producers didn't see what she was going through in real life and decide to use that in the show. That would have been awful, IMO. I feel terrible for Hayden, but I'm so glad she's getting the help she needs.
  10. Ryan Murphy initially pitched the show as "blood-splattered bubblegum" or something, so it's probably related to that.
  11. I really liked Emma in Scream 4. I thought she was believable as both the innocent good girl and the psychopath. She's definitely great at playing bitchy characters, but she's shown some depth in the indie movies she's done (Palo Alto, especially). She was funny in We Are The Millers, too.
  12. This was probably my least favorite episode so far. I was excited when I realized that Chanel #5 would be the focus - because the character has grown on me, and I like Breslin as an actress - but I was really disappointed. Breslin's acting was...off, to say the least. I agree that she's the weak link in the cast. She's ok when she's just a background character, but she can't carry an episode. I hated the stupid chase scene with #5 and the brothers. I wish they had played it straight, because it could have been suspenseful and creepy. Instead, it was cheesy as fuck; the "humor" was just too much. I get that this show isn't concerned with being scary, but still. My favorite scene was Chanel with the inmates and then her slow-mo walk out of the prison. I don't know what to make of Zayday. Can they please stop dressing Grace in such ugly clothing? She needs a makeover from the Chanel's, stat. I guess I was wrong when I said a few episodes ago that Gigi isn't in on it. I'm still not convinced that she's partners with the actual killer, though- she might be working with a red devil, not the Red Devil. She didn't say anything about killing anyone, just that "he" needs to be taken care of, which could mean anything on this show. They really need to start knocking off some of the main cast rather than nobodies and guest stars. I mean, we're five episodes in and the only notable characters to be killed are Chanel #2, Miss Bean, and Boone (and he isn't even really dead. Where the hell is he anyway??). Even the frat guy who got his arms cut off managed to survive. They could at least take out some of the lesser sorority sisters, like Sam or Candle/Ant Girl. Lastly, I'm with tom87- why is Earl Grey considered a regular? Dude is gorgeous, but he's had, what, 5 lines? I understand he and Zayday start dating, so maybe he becomes a bigger character in the second half of the season.
  13. That was...interesting. I didn't hate it, but it was definitely my least favorite premiere of any of the seasons. The rape and violence didn't bother me at all, since - as others have pointed out - those things are horrifying and fit right in on a horror show. Gaga was good as long as she wasn't speaking. She looked both glamorous & menacing and had presence, but her line readings were stilted at best. Her delivery of the line about Matt Bomer's jawline was especially bad. None of the guys really do anything for me. Sarah Paulson was great, as always. Emma Roberts will be showing up at some point, right? I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later, because she's been my favorite part of the last two seasons. Her characters always shake things up. I'm really looking forward to Angela Bassett and Finn Wittrock returning, too.
  14. Ah, I loved Harper's Island. I was disappointed by the ending, but I really enjoyed everything else. I actually cared about some of those characters, though - namely Trish, Cal, Chloe, and Sully - which isn't the case here yet.I do think this was the best episode so far. As others have said, they seem to have gotten the horror/comedy tone right. Can I just say how much I loved that Mandy was watching Leprechaun? Not even kidding, it's one of my favorite movies.
  15. Exactly. You can forge a pretty good career for yourself without radio support. Look at Lana Del Rey- her shit is hardly ever played on the radio, but she's still been very successful. Or, as another example, in 2001 Britney Spears was blacklisted from radio because she chose Pepsi to sponsor her tour rather than Clear Channel, and that obviously didn't hurt her career. As long as you're savvy enough, lack of radio play isn't going to ruin you.
  16. Taylor Swift did this thing last year called "Swiftmas" where she delivered Christmas gifts to some of her biggest fans. Chanel-o-ween was a play on that. And it doesn't surprise me that Chanel has so many Instagram followers- like she herself said, she's rich and pretty, and those "dumpy" girls probably live vicariously through her.
  17. The fashion is the kind of ugly shit you see on runways that costs a fortune and wonder if people would actually wear any of it in real life. So, it makes total sense for the Chanel's. Even if Chanel secretly hated those clothes, you know she would still wear them just because they're expensive. The rest of the characters dress normally, except for Chad and his frat bros, whose style is even worse than the Chanel's, IMO.
  18. How could Gigi be the killer? The Red Devil attacked her at the end, and I didn't get the vibe that it was a setup attack to make her look innocent (like Ghostface "stabbing" Billy in front of Sidney in Scream); she was visibly terrified, the RD clearly was trying to get her with the chainsaw, and until Wes showed up, there was no one else in the room to witness the attack. If anything, I think that scene made it seem like Wes is in on it since the RD just cut his arm and didn't even try to finish him off even though he/she easily could have (though that could have been an intentional red herring, like Derek's arm injury in Scream 2). Plus, Wes was really quick to implicate Cathy, when it's unlikely that she could have gotten upstairs and then back downstairs so quickly. Who knows, though. I love that this show has so many potential suspects. It's so hard for me to accept Charisma Carpenter as a mom to a college girl. Not because she's a bad actress or anything, but because I can only see Cordelia whenever I look at her. Speaking of, Cordy would have been a great Chanel, especially as the character was on Buffy and the first two seasons of Angel. Also, CC is still gorgeous...out of all the actors from those shows, I think she's aging the best by far. Another solid episode. I've loved all of them so far. I was hoping to get more info on Boone, but hopefully that will come soon.
  19. To keep it short and sweet: I loved the show. I thought everything about it - from the dialogue, to the black humor, to the fashion - was fantastic. And I was mostly impressed with the cast, too. Only Abigail Breslin didn't do it for me, and that's because she seems to be miscast. She's a pretty girl, and a talented actress, but I just don't buy her as a mean sorority girl. On the other hand, I'm a little obsessed with Emma Roberts and Chanel #1. She absolutely killed it. I see a lot of hate for her on these boards, and I don't understand it. Is she the world's greatest actress? No, but she isn't nearly as bad as she's made out to be. Granted, I've only seen her in this, AHS, and Scream 4, but I've enjoyed her in all of those parts.
  20. Really? Almost of the reviews I've seen, in print and online, have been glowing. Actually, I haven't read any truly negative reviews.
