I hate that they've stopped teaching cursive. That's a real thing. Cursive is so much faster! realize everyone is using a keyboard these days, but I'm 58 and I still use actual pens and paper a lot and almost never write anything but cursive.

I’m 41 and even though I was taught cursive, I only ever use it to sign my name. It’s so much slower than just writing normally. I never understood why it was taught to begin with. It’s usually not as legible either.

  2. The housekeeping bit was great! From the money in the toilet to her throwing his clothes off the balcony, that was classic Curb. Though I really don’t get why the clothes on the floor bothered her to begin with. That’s what happens in hotel rooms… (and also why we never have housekeeping come in until we leave. I don’t want random people poking around my stuff!)

  3. Oh thank god the forums are back so I can say how utterly terrible and gross this episode was! This was one of the worst hours of TV I have ever watched in my life.

This episode seriously seemed like it was a parody written by someone at Fox News. “White liberals are so woke that they don’t think Black people should go to jail for rape! They think cops should let gangs of criminals ransack their squad room and steal evidence with no consequences! Look how terrible these liberals are!!”

    What an absolutely bizarre episode.

  4. Much better episode than the first two! And at least most of Olivia’s scenes were self-contained so I was able to fast-forward through the Maddie plot garbage without missing anything important.

  5. Instaget FJ for me on Friday.

What did the category name “2-3 Zone” have at all to do with the clues? I thought maybe the answers would have 2-3 letters because the first one was DMZ, but then that wasn’t it because another one was a longer word.

Also, it took four full days for my twenty pound turkey to thaw in my refrigerator, which is set at 38 degrees. In what world can frozen human bodies completely thaw in 48 hours?  Not a big deal, I confess, but it bugged me....🙃

I thought she meant it should take 48 hours to defrost in 38° C (100° F) and expected them to set up giant heat lamps and didn’t understand why an ice hockey rink would be the place to go. 😂

But then Googling I found this:

“It turns out you can’t just warm up a frozen body and proceed with the autopsy.  It has to be defrosted slowly in a refrigeration unit at a steady thirty-eight degrees which can take up to  week.  Go any faster and the outside of the body will start to decompose while the inner organs are still frozen. Important evidence can be lost.”

  7. Hmm, possibly the worst episode of SVU ever?

They weren’t content with Olivia just being a saint, now she has to be Magic Psychic Saint Martyr Olivia who can see a random person in a car for 5 seconds and immediately know they are a kidnapping victim.

”I should have pulled them over!”

    for…. what cause?

  8. I was really hoping for another courthouse shooting there at the end.

Well, that was a shitshow. Once again, juries are morons.

Yup. Also come on, there was no Jewish person on that jury? No way would an actual NY jury let that psycho go free.

  9. I don’t remember the first three seasons being sci-fi supernatural. I really don’t like that they seem to have added that. If that’s the direction this show is going, I’m out. I want a well-written atmospheric detective mystery, not supernatural x-files style shit like so many shows seems to be these days.

I think "naked as a jay bird" is no longer in common use. I got it instantly because I remember my Grandma using the idiom and I'm a Baby Boomer! I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone much under 60 who's familiar with the term. I wasn't very surprised that it was a TS for the contestants.

I’m 41 and I thought it was stupidly easy and was shocked none of them knew it.

Today’s FJ was an instaget. I felt bad for Sophia but that’s why you have to read the clue! She would have won if she read what they were asking for.

  11. I was so confused to the timeline because of the recasting of the boys. First I thought I missed an episode, so re-watched the end of the previous one to make sure, then I thought they did another time jump and it was already the 2000s, until they said Diana's death had been so recent.

    Really terrible casting job there.

  12. Can I get extra credit for pre-guessing “Stonewall” as soon as I saw the FJ category!!?

Earlier today I was watching a video for work in which Obama had dedicated the Stonewall National Monument in 2016 so when I saw the category name I said to myself, “It would be really hilarious if of all places they asked about Stonewall.”

    😲🤣🤣🤯

I think I need to buy a lottery ticket

acted like Bruce to ignite her inexplicable, seething hatred for him.

What's inexplicable to me is how some viewers just don't seem to see how condescending and rude Bruce is, especially towards the women. Everyone was thrilled when he was gone, it wasn't just Katurah that wanted him out.

I thought that was really immature and classless.  If I liked her any better I'd be embarrassed for her.  Most people are more gracious and grateful talking to Phil on th mat.  Just really rubbed me the wrong way.

I thought it was refreshing to hear some actually honesty when a team loses! Of course they must be feeling terrible, it annoys me when teams always fake happiness when being eliminated.

Ken seemed to rule against incorrect responses in a couple of cases before time was up even though the "wrong" response included the first part of the right response: Louisville [Slugger] and America [the Beautiful].

I thought he did pause after those two, and when nothing else was said ruled them incorrect.

  16. Wow I had not a clue for FJ. I never made the realization that it was an animal and could not think of what human would have fathered 100 kids by age 14. All I could think was maybe some kind of Middle Eastern prince? Or an emperor somewhere? As soon as the answered was revealed it was a real head-smacking “duh! Of course!” moment.
