I've now watched the first 3 eps of Black Mirror. I'm not sure what you would consider disturbing imagery. I don't think there has been anything gory or terribly violent but the show is very intense and the subject matter could be described as disturbing. Maybe romantic idiot can weigh in who I think has also watched. I caught up with Orphan Black on BBCA on demand. No exciting plans this weekend. Just de-Christmasing the house. I'm going to wait til tomorrow to take the outside lights down. Rumor has it that it will be a balmy 36 degrees.

I'm going to catch Agent Carter on demand too. I finished the first two seasons of Arrow. For some reason, on demand doesn't have all the season 3 eps available. I'm deciding whether I should wait for S3 to get to Netflix or buy the first eps and get current so I can watch when the show is back in a couple of weeks. Life's big decisions. The cold/dryness is getting to me too. I've got a humidifier running but it can't keep up. It's helping a bit though. I'm also trying to make some changes to my diet, Erratic. I'm not really cutting anything out, just cutting back. I'm using an app to keep track of what I'm eating throughout the day. It's not too inconvenient because you can scan a lot of items which are stored. I find It makes me more aware and keeps me thinking about it which helps all on its own.
-
Wow. That's terrible Erratic. I probably shouldn't be, but I'm stunned. Unbelievable. Barphe - I hope things improve for you soon. Our office never warmed up today either Valny. It's very windy too which isnt helping. I have a circulation issue so my hands get cold easily. I used to wear silk glove liners indoors to help with that. I watched the first episode of Black Mirror. Whoa! I had heard about that ep on a podcast but forgot the name of the series.

Yikes!

Happy birthday Barphe! Stay warm KPC and another yay for work! What's the temperature where you're at Chyna? It's about 10 degrees here now with the wind chill which is plenty cold for me. Will be getting to 15-20 below from what I've read.

I'll have to get used to it trudi. I love the convenience of it, but typing is awkward and autocorrect is very aggressive. One of my niblings spent a semester in England and it was nerve wracking at first for her parents but they were good about communicating so that helped quite a bit. Skype, FB and texting made a big difference. It was a wonderful experience for my niece who now has taken a few more trips all over and made some great friends.

I hope everyone that's feeling under the weather is better soon. buffyjunkie - I'm sending vibes your way. I'm sure all will be well and it will be a great experience for him. First day back to work for me after vacation. Blergh. It was fine but I was totally getting used to not having to do that. Back to reality... Almost finished with the second season of Arrow. Two more to go. Will probably wrap that up tonight. I'm really enjoying it. Right mix of seriousness and humor for me and, outside of one glaring exception, I like all of the characters. Excuse the non-formatting. Using a tablet and those features aren't anywhere obvious. I'll have to get used to putting the code in.

Happy new year!

Hang in there, Erratic. The in-laws sound like real winners. I hope you and your dad are feeling better soon Hostile. I'm all for having a drink or two..or three...to get through family quality time around the holidays. This year went well. Just the right mix of relatives and downtime so far. I'm another one having a quiet New Year at home. I do usually stay up til midnight though. I'm going to light a fire, snack and relax. I do wish we had a little dusting of snow. I just started watching too. I'm farther along so I won't say much. I like it a lot so far. The only thing I'm finding distracting is that island Oliver reminds me of the unappealing Rob Lowes from the cable commercials. Pulls me out of every one of those scenes. Hope everyone has a great new year and the upcoming year is good to us all!

Anti-SAD vibes and sunshine to buffyjunkie's friend. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and great holiday season to all!

Been away from the forum for a few days and am catching up. I have finally de-stressed! (now with hyphen) Last week was rough, but I'm feeling a lot better now. Happy birthday cko! Erratic - I am sending extra vibes your way and am sure you will do great. I hope everyone who is not feeling well is better soon. LnB - does your mom already have long-term insurance and it's now a matter of her meeting the requirements to be covered? I hope everything works out so she can get the assisance she needs. As for tv shows, I've got The Librarians and Arrow already on my list and I'm now adding Black Mirror. Is that one finished or ongoing? I started watching The Affair which I didn't think I would, but it's not bad and I'm interested in seeing how this season ends. I think I'm 2 eps behind. I've watched Supernatural from the beginning and think it's fun. It can get a little too gross for me at times and I agree there have been dips in quality but there's a lot of humor and I still enjoy watching it.

Thanks for the vibes and support. You guys really are the best. What a terrible, scary and sad situation, Earl. So many lives affected. Very cool and interesting, KPC. Sending vibes to all who need them. In other news, if I see this commerical one more time, I will scream - http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7EvD/the-clapper-world-class-clapper-kent-french

Good luck KPC! Happy birthday Hostile! LnB, you truly are lucky to have such a helpful family. These situations are difficult enough without added and unecessary stress. AnnieF - it doesn't sound morbid at all and your mother sounds like a great person. I decluttered years ago and feel much the same way. And now I'm editing because I even feel guilty about venting. Just wish me destressing vibes and thanks!
-
I will second this! Hope everyone who is feeling under the weather is better soon. KPC - that is great news on your play. Hope your stiches stop bothering you. Hang in there, LnB. You've made a ton of progress in a short amount of time. You're putting me to shame here. I've still got quite a way to go in my mom's house. It's difficult because my mom is with me and I can't get as much as I need to done when I'm there and I'm not getting consistent help from the family. I don't know how to fix that problem and I can't keep waiting. It's not just the house either. There are other matters I'm trying to get taken care of. I've given them info and asked for input and after 2 weeks....nothing. I'm going to have to move forward on my own and get it done and that will probably make them angry. It's a bit of a no-win and creating a lot of stress for me. I'll stop venting now. Happy Monday?

buffyjunkie - vibes to you and your daughter.I hope she is feeling better soon. cko - I'm glad to hear your father will be coming home today. I hope everything goes well and am sending vibes to both of you. Good luck on the next phase, Erratic. How are your stress levels going through all of this? It does sound exciting but intense. I'm behind on the shows I'm currently watching and hope to give The Librarians a try on demand sometime soon. Sometimes with a new show, and it sounds like it may be the case with this one, it helps to watch the first few eps all at once.
-
Oh, I was sooooo close to calling in today. Same reasons too. 3-day weeks sound fabulous! Enjoy!

They do say it helps to plan to leave when lunch or dinner is being served. The treat idea is also good, but this... is so true. It really is a mix of emotions. I spent a good chunk of Sunday and last night ordering Christmas gifts. I'm almost there, but not quite done yet. I'm just stuck for ideas for a few people. I'm determined to finish in the next day or so. Never tried Italian soda. Also, missed The Librarians. I'm a bit behind on my tv viewing. I'll have to catch it on demand. Enjoy your visit with your family romantic idiot!

I hope you're feeling ok, LnB. At least you got a lot accomplished. It's ridiculous you have to jump through all of those hoops with insurance. I hope it doesn't take too long and there are exercises you can do in the meantime so any improvement you may be making isn't lost. Glad your mom is doing well. Are the rarely visiting comments typical? I decided to venture out to a few stores yesterday to start the Christmas shopping. It was pouring and crowded. I only made it to 3 stores and came back empty handed. I drove by the mall and waved at it. No way I was going in there. It looked packed. I had enough of the crowds in the smaller stores. The rest of my shopping will be done on my couch with my laptop thank you. I want to get everything decided and ordered this weekend. I have to figure out gifts from my mom as well, so I've got double duty. I usually make some kind of basket for a few people in my family but I've been doing them so long now, that I'm having trouble coming up with ideas. If anyone has an idea, let me know.

Thanks so much for the vibes. They really do help and mean a lot to me. The tests results are good and my mom seems to be doing well. So far so good. I didn't mind the cables but was surprised at how the clothing on the kids was pulled by the harnesses and thought they would try to minimize that with the camera angle. Does clothing looked pulled like that on stage too? Yeah, I can't even describe Walken's performance. WTF sums it up nicely I guess. I don't like butterscotch and never willingly eat anything with it. I know if I ever had the opportunity though, I would try butterbeer. I couldn't pass it up. Glad things are moving along Erratic and that social worker is easing up a bit. Are you still going for physical therapy, LnB? Has it helped?
-
Thanks everyone. We're going this morning for the tests, Valny. I watched it. Christopher Walken was such an odd choice that I had to check it out. I didn't realize that it was 3 hours. How I missed that with all the advertising leading up to it is beyond me. PTV was live blogging during it and I had that open as I was watching. There were new songs added from the comments. I've seen it before but wouldn't remember if a song was original to the show or not other than the most popular. It felt long. They seemed to be having a few production issues and the breaks to commercials were very abrupt. I was surprised that, in the first major flying scene, all of the characters' clothes were pulled in the back from the harnesses. It was very distracting. I would have thought they would do something about that or shoot it from a better angle. Christoper Walken's performance was bizarre and he seemed rather unsteady. Talk about looking for something to happen - that was definitely me when Walken was on screen. I'm sure a clip or two will surface of his performance that you can check out. More work vibes (except for Tuesday!) for KPC and continued vibes for AnnieF.

Hi YME! AnnieF - I hope the cold is a quick one and you're feeling better soon. If anyone has any vibes to spare, please send them my mom's way. She will be having tests and will need to be sedated. I'm concerned about disorientation resulting from the sedation and any lingering effects/worsening of her condition. So vibes for good test results and no setbacks would be greatly appreciated.

This cracked me up. I keep trying to enjoy all the decorations and not think about the work involved with taking them all down again in a month! These are the small signs that tell me I'm getting older and crabbier.
-
Glad to hear everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and weekend. Vibes to AnnieF - I hope you are feeling better soon. I was knocked offline by router issues for the last few days. Nice to be back. Got a lot accomplished over the long weekend. Christmas has arrived at my house. The house is decorated inside and out and the tree is up.

I think this show is a lot of fun. I like all of the main characters; although, I care the least about the Barry and Iris romantic angle. I'm always interested when Wells is on the screen and think Tom Cavanagh is great in the role. For me, it's still up in the air as to which side of good/evil he falls into and I like that aspect. I don't think his taking the blood sample at the end of this ep necessarily means he's evil. He could be trying to learn how the Flash's powers were taken so he can prevent it in the future and protect Barry. I haven't watched Arrow and am not familiar with the comics, so there's a lot I don't know about this universe. I was hoping there would be a little bit of follow up on what happened to Joe last ep and that he would discuss it with Barry. So far the show is entertaining enough and the characters likeable enough that any plot holes aren't bothering me.

Hope work calms down for you, Earl. If you can work from home tomorrow, that will be good. Between the weather and traffic, sounds like a good idea. I'm off until next week. I felt the tension lessening as soon as I came home. I'm looking forward to the time off and am really going to try to take it easy. I will start decorating for Christmas this weekend. They were originally predicting 5-8 inches of snow around here, but that's now down to an inch. I do hope we get a tiny bit. Everything looks so nice and it will be just in time for all the Christmas lights and decorations. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and vibes to all who need them.
