  1. None of HTGAWM cast projects is on the other big broadcast networks as far as I know. But anyway, I searched around a little bit and found this bit from last year's MGH interview. She doesn't think she will be allowed to return. Which is a shame since Hannah is really needed in this burnt house storyline. It was her family house after all. Maybe they will be able to work something out.
  2. Starring in shows on another broadcast networks can be prohibited for series regulars and especially leads, or so I've heard. Famke Janssen, for example, mentioned that NBC won't allow her to do any more HTGAWM episodes despite the fact that schedules in theory could work out because her show has just 8 episodes. And Marcia Gay Harden is a lead in 22-episode show on CBS. Her schedule is highly unlikely to allow it even if the network doesn't object.
  3. Yet he keeps getting into her business again and again even when nobody is asking him to for no plausible reason at all. First time around it might have been sympathetic, but at this point it doesn't make any sense. Apparently the takeaway is meant to be that there is some super epic love there, that's why I find it very unlikely the writers have Nate do something that will prevent them from shoving him back into Annalise's bed eventually. Killing Wes is definitely one of these things. Maybe the fire, but only to protect Annalise or some other "good" reason. If they indeed make him an antagonist instead of suspiciously looking red herring I will be extremely surprised. If the writers didn't forget about her too. Since Hannah Keating can't appear in person because her actress is on another show, she may show up instead.
  4. Nate was not a cop at that moment. He was fired when he was caught snooping around Sam's car a couple of episodes before it. It's somehow Annalise's fault according to Nate, but that's beside the point. Rebecca was an idiot to trust a random stalker whom she knew nothing about. Why did Nate do it is another question. He had nothing to gain from that investigation. Any "evidence" Rebecca could have obtained this way would be inadmissible. And it's not like it held any personal importance for him because he never even tried to learn what happened to that flash drive or Rebecca after that. Apparently this is Nate's purpose on the show besides being shirtless. To do stupid stuff for no reason at all so other characters won't have to. It is a bit annoying how the show insists the K4 are so very guilty. They were dragged into a situation that wasn't created by them and only tried to protect a person from getting killed. Not calling 911 immediately when things turned violent and subsequent coverup (which actually was Annalise's idea to boot) were stupid things to do, but that's it. It is nowhere near as bad as the stuff other regulars except Oliver did.
  5. While flashforwards have always been greenish, flashbacks had different filters every time. Ones to Rose death had a shade of yellow, ones with Lila and Rebecca had regular lighting. I think it's more to convey the general mood of the scenes. These were supposed to be somewhat fond memories of Wes that other characters have, maybe the overly bright picture was meant to symbolize that. But it does have a surreal feeling to it, because aside from Annalise and Laurel Wes didn't interact much with anyone else. And when he did it was way less friendly than flashbacks show us. Which makes it feel like a retcon.
  6. To be fair, this show doesn't give anyone a healthy, serious long-lasting committed relationship with anyone regardless of gender, sexuality, race or plot significance. Even everyone's beloved Coliver is pretty toxic by real life standards. Maybe it's a point that every character is too messed up to have healthy relationship, maybe the showrunners genuinely believe it's boring, maybe they just can't write it. Never seen Scandal or GA, but from what I've heard, healthy romances do not exist there too. I seriously doubt that kisses in this episode were anything but a little bit of fanservice to "sweeten" Wes' death. Especially the first one that came out of nowhere and I've heard a lot of theories that it was just an improvisation on Karla's part. After all Laurel/Michaela is the most popular non-canon pairing of the show, and Annalise/Bonnie used to be the most popular Annalise's pairing before Eve.
  7. With the cast interviews about it being so heartbreaking they had to stop filming for several hours it seems highly unlikely, that Nate is under the sheet, but do you believe he is done with Annalise for good? They had much worse falling-outs every season, yet he crawled back in several episodes being more in love than ever every single time. If the first season it happened in the midseason finale, in the second - one episode before it. With this trend I'll be very surprised if Nate does not jump back into Annalise's bed by 3.09.
  8. I have read several interviews on this when it became a major topic this spring. And I got the impression that the showrunners, who use this trope and are aware of it, tend to believe that while yes, the trope is horrible, but in their particular case it doesn't apply because the character was evil and everyone should be happy she died/the actress is unavailable anyway/the death was so well written/whatever other reason. So if they really wanted to kill Eve it wouldn't stop them. I do hope it's not her. She is the only person in the show, who has at least some common sense and survival instinct. It should have a payoff.
  9. How to Get Away With Murder Is Going Back to School in Season 3 Can't say I like the "more focus on love lives" bit, but at least there will be no new Hapstall case.

  11. They really were to me. I actually almost never care about romance because in order to like it I have to love both characters involved and the dynamic between them. Usually something of that is missing. It is really amazing that just in couple of episodes they managed to create an interesting and compelling relationship that felt no less real (and in some cases even more) than ones that had whole two seasons to develop. It was disappointing to see it discarded even if it was inevitable. I'm not saying that the possibility of Annalise's and Eve's romance is destroyed forever for me, but if Famke somehow becomes available again, and writers decide to go on with it, a lot of issues will need to be settled between them for me to be able to buy it again. Just shoving them back together Nate/Annalise-style and pretending nothing was ever wrong would make their relationship just as bad. By the way, if people who were at Comic Con in London to be believed, Famke was asked there if she believes Annalise is using Eve. She said that Annalise totally is and Eve needs to show her who is the boss. Don't know if the writers will go for that route, but wherever it goes I'm sure Viola and Famke will act the hell out of it. So at least it will be interesting to watch. As long as Eve survives, of course. She somehow managed to become one of my favorite characters. He was de facto a regular already. I believe he appeared in 13 out of 15 episodes of season 2. Oliver is well liked on his own and is a part of the most popular and praised pairing of the show. It was logical to promote him regardless of other circumstances. I find non-romantic relationships on this show much more interesting too. Connor and Micaela, also Frank and Bonnie have really great chemistry without even a hint of it turning romantic. As messed up as Annalise's and Bonnie's relationship is, it is weirdly fascinating to watch. It will be interesting to see where Annalise and Wes go with her role in his mother's suicide, Mahoney's too convenient death and Rebecca's fate still up in the air. Keating 5 bonding was nice too. I can only hope that in next season there will be more focus on that instead of neverending hookups and breakups.
  12. The final episodes were written in January, the announcement of the possibility of spinoff came in the end of March. I don't know much about how American TV works, but could HTGAWM writers know about this that much ahead of time given the shows are on the different networks? Season 3 though is definitely being written with that in mind and it makes me about Eve's fate. I can easily see them killing her for drama sake or ruining her character in some other way. I doubt that this relationship was really meant to go anywhere meaningful. Famke said that initially she was signed up only for two S2 premiere episodes. Than they kept going because Eve was liked both by the writers and the audience and Famke had openings is her schedule and we got three episodes more, but that's just luck. It is what makes me wonder about what our takeaway was supposed to be. In the two first episodes both writers and actors have really tried to show Annalise's and Eve's feelings as genuine (and did a great job, no way around that), the very next episode Annalise dismisses Eve as "just someone from my past" and proceeds to fawn over Nate. If the schedules didn't work out, or Famke didn't agree to go on that would be it. (But this pattern pretty much repeats itself in all of their further interactions.) Were we meant to believe Annalise was just saying what Eve wanted to hear for manipulation sake (but why put so much effort in making it seem like she was not)? Or that Annalise is just so head over heels in love with Nate that nobody can compare (but nothing in S1 indicated he was more then a sex buddy/ resource to her and the writers didn't show what changed her mind since then)? Or that he is superior by default because he is a guy? I think if it was supposed to be lasting they would have signed Famke up for more episodes from the start like they did with the actors who played Caleb and Catherine. Or chosen someone more likely to be available at any given moment for the role, like they did with Conrad Ricamora, who was also supposed to be only in one episode and now is a regular. Well, both authors and actors repeatedly said that it will never ever turn romantic because Connor is gay. And from what I have seen, friendships in fiction tend to be much more stable than romance. Probably writers don't find them as compelling to ruin when they want to add some drama.
  13. How To Get Away With Murder Gets Back to the Courtroom in Season 3 Famke will be back for at least an episode. That was unexpected. I thought series regulars on the network shows are not allowed to star on the other networks. I hope Eve will not be killed off or ruined in other ways.
  14. I used to like Annalise and Eve in the beginning. They actually seemed like two relatively mature adults, who respect and understand each other, for a little while. But by the end of the season the show managed to convince me that Annalise was only using Eve's one-sided affection and I'm not here for it. I wonder what was the initial writers' intention with this relationship. A lot of mixed signals there. Connor and Oliver's relationship was cute, but eventually it completely consumed Connor's character arc. All Connor has been doing throughout the whole second season is whine and freak out about his boyfriend, which is annoying and a waste of a character who initially had a lot of potential. Nate/Annalise is just horribly written. She frames him for murder, orders to have him beaten it prison, he tries to work against her somehow twice, says nobody will ever love her and how he should kill her... And then everything suddenly is forgiven and forgotten overnight because they just so in love and this relationship is magically sunshine and rainbows. Yeah, sure, I totally buy it. Also the fact that the guy still has neither a personality, nor plot relevance other then being a love interest doesn't help at all. Asher and Bonnie were unexpectedly interesting together, but it ended like it should have ended given the circumstances. Going back to would be a disservice to Bonnie's character. Michaela/Asher and Wes/Laurel do seem like they could eventually develop into decent relatively healthy relationships, but I really doubt that any relationship on this show will go this way. It's Shondaland after all.
