nly on TV do teenagers who were dating (or not dating in the case of DJ and Geena) end up married and 'happily ever after".  It's not that it's super rare but it's not nearly as common as TV sitcoms would have us believe!

My husband and I are one of those rare ones. We have been together since we were 14 and 15. We got married when we were 20 and 21 and celebrated 32 years married this past August and we're 53 and 52 now.

Actually, I don't like that she's really promiscuous since the show returned.  And I really can't believe that anyone in this day and age would have unprotected sex if they weren't in a committed relationship!  I hope the couple who want to adopt her baby isn't going to happen.  Characters we've never heard of/seen before decide immediately that they want to adopt Becky's baby when she tells them she's pregnant.

I agree - Becky was never a slut : )  And I fear you're right about the couple who want to adopt her baby. Why would they even introduce them if it wasn't going to happen? Or at least Becky going back and forth over a decision to give the baby to them or keep it.

Count me in as another who didn't understand only saving the kid in the sinking car. Who was driving? The dead guy on the hill?

Yes, the man on the hill was apparently thrown from the vehicle but the little boy (probably his son) was still in it as it sank.

I liked Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa but what the heck was going on with Jill Wagner's hair? Usually it's this beautiful brown  head of curls and in this movie it was flat, dark roots about 4 inches down and then some odd blond shade. And her makeup was off too -- it didn't even look like her. She is a very likable actress though - one of my favorites.

    I agree.

Who was the very popular actor who played the lead firefighter trainer?

I think it may have been Mark Derwin.  He was in the opening credits. He isn't listed on IMDB for this episode of 9-1-1 yet, but Googling some photos, I think that is the guy.

Yes, that's him! I remember him from lots of things but most recently "The Secret Life of the American Teenager". Thank you because this was just driving me bonkers! : )

Pria has proven my assumptions right!  It has to be much easier to be an "investigative reporter" oh, say anywhere in the world than it is to be a year into a medical residency. When she pouted and said say you'll consider it - that was total rich girl talking.  She appears to have no idea how hard it is to be a doctor, much less come from lower middle class.  At that moment, I like Julia a lot more.  How could anyone imagine their husband would walk away from a residency?!

Yep, believe it or not, I'm Team Julia now. LOL

  7. Who was the very popular actor who played the lead firefighter trainer? I recognized him and can't remember his name and what he's been in before (I know I've seen him many times but can't place him). I looked on episode guest star lists and don't see it.  For some reason I want to say his first name is Charles but I think I may be completely wrong.

I had no idea that the actor who plays Buck is British. He does a good job with the American accent.

I know, right? I rewound it so my husband could hear it too. I had never heard he was British so it kind of threw me for a loop!

Ok Christine looks adorable and I love those glasses. Kody doesn't look too bad either - I dig the black and white.

Before I scrolled all the way up, I thought Kody had shaved his head and then I saw it - that little mohawkyish patch on top. Seriously, shaving your head as a guy is the way to go - it's "in style" and in his case, would make him much better looking.

I take the opposing view that she's insulting these people by suggesting they are inferior because of their lack of belief and need correcting. This is the second time she has chastised them about their souls and I find it offensive.

This seems to be the only thing she does. I agree with the poster who said the DJ Character improved last night. But they just keep making Geena this one trick pony. Although I did love Darlene's comment about thinking it was funny Geena thought she could do Mary's hair when she can't even do her own.

Still working my way through some of the older films and just saw Christmas Under Wraps with Candace Cameron Bure.  Reading the blurb I wasn't expecting to like it but I actually thought it was Very Good.  No tiresome love triangle (so already better than average) and then the story itself was just sweet.  Perfect Christmas movie fare.  I'd watch it again.

THis is one of my very, very favorites. I also love a Very Merry Mix Up, where Alicia Witt goes home with the wrong family and also the one (can't remember the name) with her getting the job as Santa. I also liked Christmas Cookies. But my very, very, very favorite may not even be a Hallmark movie but I think it is. It is Holiday Switch with Nicole Eggert. I actually bought that one on DVD so I'd have it to watch every year. Now to remember where I put it...

  12. I am wondering if William Fichtner (Adam) has some other project in the works because did you catch Bonnie saying "Adam doesn't have a lot of time for me lately". So that makes me think the writers had her say that to explain why he is not there as much and also why they felt they'd need to bring in Tammy to fill in where he will be absent. He is one of my favorite actors so I hope they don't lose Adam altogether.

Okay I just googled William Fichter new projects and it says that Prison Break is going to come back yet again for another season???? So he is a major character on that show and is returning in the new season so that may explain why he will not be as prominent on Mom. Also he's been doing movies and hosting a show too. Busy guy. Yeah it’s confusing that they had no stories left to tell with April when they’re telling one now?

Does anyone wonder if maybe they're planning on bringing April back? Then DeLuca and Maggie could get together. Then Meredith could get with Linc (even tho I'm not sure about that one yet) If Teddy comes back, and she and Owen end up back together, Amelia could get with Koracek (sp?) because they had a "thing" at one time. Hmmm...makes you think.

All that being said - I wouldn't mind any of this happening except I'd like to see Meredith with Koracek too. If Amelia never graced our screen again, it would be too soon for me. Just don't care for her character.

I am one of the few that liked Freak Show. It never veered off course. It stayed true to the tone of the original season and I think with Hotel, it crossed over into being absurd.

I loved Murder House and Freak Show and thought Asylum was pretty good (except for the musical acts - I cannot say it enough - I LOATHE MUSICALS) And I liked Liz Taylor and Kathy Bates' characters in Hotel (and the cool art nouveau architechture/decorating of the hotel) but couldn't stand GaGa and the whole "storyline" (for lack of better terms).

Oh, and with all of us wanting them to get back to present time, did anyone else yell at the TV screen when they went back even further to 1918???? GEEEZZZ

I just don't think Ryan's heart is in this series anymore. He has too much going on.

Isn't he the producer/creator/etc. of 9-1-1? If so he is putting his heart into it as it has become one of my favorite shows now.

Next season is probably off my list.  I think the show has simply left me behind.  And that's fine.  Whether I watch or not, really makes no difference.  I'm just not interested in what this show produces anymore.

I agree. And I'm sad to say that because I thought "Murder House" was just the bomb back when it first aired. I can usually see stuff coming a mile away, but when

    Spoiler

    Violet saw herself dead

I didn't see it coming at all. I was yelling at the TV. I was walking around the house saying, "OMG - that just blew my mind", etc. Then I had to text all my friends and say "I'm not gonna say it in case you haven't watched yet, but you're not gonna believe what happened on AHS tonight!"

But since then, RM has shoved Sarah Paulsen, Adina Porter and worst yet Emma Roberts down our throats - against our will I might add. Then, even though I love Stevie Nicks, we were subjected to that awful rendition of her song on this season, which as I said...awful...but even more so - waste of time that could have been used in clarifying things in this season and even helped in wrapping it all up.

I was an avid fan and I've just kept giving RM the benefit of the doubt each season, and some didn't totally disappoint me (Asylum & Freakshow), but like you, Captanne, I am sad to say I think I'm out after this season unless they do something to give AHS its edge back. Even the show intro disappointed me this year.

Unpopular opinion, I actually love to hate Potter and his weird mannerisms. I am not going to mind the back and forth dance between him, and EZ and the Mayans, and Galindo. It reminds me of the Scofield/Mahone conflict in another ridiculous show, lol.

Not unpopular with me. Potter is the guy you love to hate. And you just have to nervously laugh at his quirks. I loved Scofield/Mahone conflict too. They are both those kind of relationships where both parties - even tho they're sworn enemies - have a modicum of respect for each other. (Kind of like in Fast & Furious movies too - Vin Diesel's character and the Rock's character have this kind of relationship. Always fun to watch.

Maddie and Chimney are cute and JLH is settling in nicely in this series...

Chimney has a good voice! JLH has always sung (she put out some unsuccessful albums) and I feel like she probably makes it a part of her contracts to sing every once in a while, but I didn't know Chimney could sing. They sounded nice together.

I like the whole ensemble but Chimney is my favorite. He is such a great catch. I enjoy watching him and Maddie's relationship develop too.

  18. I was trying to place the woman who plays Eddie's wife. She reminded me of Debra Winger in an Officer and a Gentleman - not only looks-wise, but even some facial expressions and mannerisms. So I finally found her in googling and no relation to Debra Winger, but realized she looked familiar because she played the doctor of the small town in the short lived show Resurrection.

  19. As a person who LOVED the original show Roseanne and seriously felt like part of their family, but who separates the actress from the character so therefore did not care what Roseanne the actress did/didn't do in relation to how I enjoyed or did not enjoy the revamp last season, I was prepared to not like The Conners. I really wanted to NOT like The Conners because I don't think it's fair what they did to Roseanne when there are so many other celebrities saying offensive things but not losing their shows.

But I'm not stating that to start a debate. I'm saying that to make my point of...

Despite not wanting to like The Conners...I had to watch the first show out of curiosity. And now I am hooked because despite the way Roseanne the actress was booted from the show, the show was very real in the way it handled Roseanne Conner's death. Families lose their matriarchs. Families have to deal with the void that creates. Roseanne the character was a human being who was going to die at one time eventually. In her case, it was too soon and the family we have all known and loved for all these years has to learn to deal with that just as we as real families/human beings have had to deal with it in our own lives.

So, for anyone that wants to tell me, "I told you so" in regards to The Conners being great even without Roseanne, well I'm freely admitting that you got me and you were right!

I'm amazed at how easily Johnny Galecki can slip back into playing David after 10 years of playing Leonard on Big Bang, and I don't even see the slightest hint of Leonard in his portrayal. On paper the two characters wouldn't seem that  different but there are so many nuances to both and Galecki manages to find them all, right down to the classic David hair.

    1000x this!
