I think we are seeing Jessa's true mean girl coming out. The very snide comment about Jinger's waistline....that was mean. The main thing I have noticed is Jessa and now Jinger act very different around their "man"...Jim Bob has loosened up, a lot. I think John David thinks he is being funny when really he accentuates his slowness.

I have always thought they were concerned with the side affects of drugs like Accutane. I took it as an adult past reproduction time, and my God the side effects that came with it were horrendous. I would not put my teen on based on my experience as well as the host of other long term side effects.

Personally, no. I had lots of follow ups, a lot of pain and I lost 20 pounds in 2 weeks. Eating was a full time job. You are starving all the time. I ate baby food and blended everything. My oral surgeon checked on me every 2 weeks but as I said, the othro did not touch me till the xrays showed fusion. Worst experience of my life-worse than child birth.

No. The suture is mid palatte line. They basically force it open. Same idea as the palatte expanders kiddos wear in their mouths where the parent's turn the key as prescribed to allow for more space while their bones are still easy to mold. My guess is both cosmetic and function. His mouth looked quite small and likely he could have been having bite issues making eating difficult. Biting your cheek or tongue gets very old. My dad has a mouth that looks similar to Derrik's pre surgery. He is forever biting chunks out of his cheeks or tongue. The sad thing is, he should have had ortho work as a kid. There isn't an ortho out there that won't work the parent on payment. And not so much for cosmetic reasons, it is function and ultimately oral hygiene challenges down the road.

His treatment is progressing as seen in the spaces between his teeth and even the lopsided upper smile. They went in and broke his maxilla right at the suture line. They put in cadaver bone or titanium screws or both to hold the bone in place. The ortho can't do any adjustments to the upper till the bone fuses. In most cases the ortho doesn't even switch out the ligature ties, you know, the elastics around each bracket. Mine were actually replaced before surgery with steel ties because it is more hygienic. I would expect things start to look better pretty soon. As someone who has gone through this surgery it pains me to see the mean comments and people not having a clue as to what they are speaking about. This is a horrendous surgery and recovery.

The state of Utah still offers an amazing pension plan for state employees. I worked for the U of U for 9 years and my monthly will be 680.00 at retirement. That is just the free pension. You can't touch that. So Jenelle should still have a pension, although not that much, if she worked for the state 5 years.

There absolutely is. I work in healthcare and have to deal with the obese too often. There BP, resting heart rate and pulse ox are never in the normal range. Have you ever seen a chest xray on an obese person? There lungs are literally squished by all that fat. Her heart was said to be ok for now, but she is not healthy. Fat develops around the heart in time. The winded out of breath episodes are her body's way of saying, I am working to hard. However, you are right about something...too thin is unhealthy as well. It too is unattractive. I can't keep weight on and it has aged me. My metabolism is extremely fast. But unlike Whit, I listen to my doctors. I listen to my nutritionist. I want to be healthy.

I think she has become more reclusive with her peers because of all this media attention. I think she is terribly confused and regretting all these big decision's. She doesn't fit in with those green haired butchy types. Which makes me wonder if Jeanette isn't ill herself and wanted a different kid. Seriously, she gets as much attention as Jazz.
