Can I just add that I think that EVERYONE on this squad is gorgeous?! Let's be real, you're not going to get past prelims if you're not pretty. I also read this forum and sometimes think I'm missing something. People say X, Y, or Z is bad at dancing but I have literally have only seen snippets on the show or insta. Is there a site I don't know about where I can watch more of their dancing? I'm just saying – Kelli and Judy watch them for hours on end and cut based on that, I don't want to form opinions based on a minuscule fraction of that.

I just had time to finish watching the episode and it reminded me of how freaking cool maddie's solo is!! I remember watching it in May and being blown away – here's the link if anyone wants to watch (for the first time or again!)

I have been MIA for a while because of school but is there a reason there's a limit on the number of cheerleaders in the Super Bowl? Besides just travel expenses? And tbh I have to confess that if it's the Pats in the SB I'll be supporting them over the Cowboys anyday.

I've made it in a cake pan and it turns out great! It tastes better if you eat it warm and pretend it doesn't have any calories.

If we specifically want to discuss politics in the DCC world, would Current DCC's be a better thread? I don't want to join the overall politics and news forum, just discuss it in the context of DCC.

Anyone else laugh out loud when Kelli introduced the yes/no/maybe "scoring system" into training camp? I thought it was hilarious (but an effective technique nonetheless)

Re: Megan – I think she probably did get crap for it, we just didn't see it – there's no way someone didn't bring up the fact that her stomach was covered and hair back. As much as I'd love to see the entirety of the judging process, fact is that we only see what the producers want us to see. In this case, Megan's getting the "perfect DCC" edit.

I'm exactly in that age set and while I admit I don't watch the news, I would know Trump wants to build a wall just by looking at my Facebook feed (although that may be because I live in a blue state lol). Besides, if you're a DCC, aren't you held to a higher standard? If you want to be a DCC, you should know you have to watch the news or look at some political websites some of the time, even if it's not everyday. When it comes to DCC, ignorance is not bliss.

There are certainly bad answers though - if a DCC said they agree with building a wall to keep Mexicans out because they hate Mexicans I would certainly think they're racist. If I was a judge, and a DCC said something that promoted hate/intolerance/etc, it would make me immediately give them a no regardless of their dance skills. As for this question not being appropriate, I disagree – what if a fan or someone else asks them this, given this is such a hot topic in the world? Also, I think Caila's answer (or lack thereof) was as bad as the girl who didn't know what the two political parties were a few seasons ago. Or the girl who thought Michelle Obama was the Democratic nominee in 2012. It's not like the judges were trying to trick them with these questions, because they're not asking them to know everything, just the basic facts. If you can't answer those questions, why should you deserve to be on the squad?

She probably wanted to focus on preparing for auditions, and maybe other commitments kept her in the US. Also, she might not have wanted/needed to go get her Visa again in the unlikely event she got cut.

They're getting paid, so technically this is a part time job. When I was a TA for undergrad classes I wrote emails to my professors/bosses if I had any issues with my students. This is pretty much the same thing, but in a dance setting. It's better if everything is documented as opposed to just saying it during a meeting.

On a more on topic note - I'm getting my popcorn ready, the Yuko visa drama continues! It sounds like they're not too happy with her about the whole thing if they took her out of the game for it? Isn't it easier to put her back in than Emma?

On a different note - @dalgal214 I had a dream I met you in real life! In my dream I was convinced you were a current/former DCC so tbh I was a little disappointed when I found out you weren't (in my dream at least).

I agree. Editing is such an easy thing to manipulate, and you can't judge someone's true character off of what is shown - because they're trying to make it dramatic and interesting to watch. Same thing about the girls who are cut - they wouldn't have made it into training camp if they were bad dancers, so they only show the mistakes they make because they have such limited time on a 1 hour show.

I'm really starting to think that the issues were somehow the fault of the Cowboys or MTT. It sounds like she's a good enough dancer for those missed rehearsals to not matter. There are probably other girls who could skip rehearsal and dance just as well, but those skips wouldn't be out of necessity (ie, they're not going to leave the country). Missing a few rehearsals for Visa issues so that you can attend rehearsals for the rest of the year (or multiple years!) is more justifiable.

I don't know how you would even start ranking them in terms of prettiness! Sure we all have our own preferences for looks, but they're all pretty on some level. Actually, now that I think about it, they're not even allowed to be ugly - not having the DCC look is a reason to get cut, after all! I agree that Jinelle is gorgeous. I was watching her rookie makeover episode the other day, where they almost gave her a short bob. I think her makeover looked good on her, but a bob would have looked great too!

It's a little weird she can still go to these things and other DCC (presumably) can't, but being Judy's daughter is going to give her perks no matter what. After all, Kelli's and Charlotte's daughters go to DCC events (auditions, the bachelor thing, etc) even though they were never DCC. I personally think this picture is adorable! What is it, 17 more years until her daughter can audition? (Mostly joking)

Aha I know they won't! Someone asked about our thoughts about the uniform and I took it as a chance to rant. Kyndall hasn't made any "I was cut" posts and I follow her on a couple things. I saw this thread of comments though, so it sounds like she was indeed cut.

Haha I guess I didn't word it correctly, but I meant something more along the lines of their training camp outfits. They look better in those than they do the actual uniforms honestly. I can't stand how the blue sleeves blend into the poms and it looks like they don't have hands.

Honestly, I think the uniform is ugly. I hadn't heard of the DCC when I first started watching the show and when they first started singing praises about their iconic uniform, all I could think was "Who would want to wear that?!". The worst part is probably the poofy sleeves, I think it would look better if it was some sort of tank top with the vest (which I like), slightly longer shorts, and normal tennis shoes. I think dancing in boots is a ridiculous concept and looks kind of trashy, and don't understand why so many teams do it. At least for the DCC it makes sense with the whole cowboys thing, but still.....
