  1. Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is the "Ocean's 11 ending"? I vaguely remember the gang staring at the Bellagio fountain not saying anything to each other and then they walk off. Is that what people mean here? The five of them looking at each other and then the other three walk off leaving Danny and Lexi to kiss? Or was there some twist at the very end that just completely passed over my head?
  2. Yeah, I think we've seen the last of Reese. It's ironic that Danny was the one that wanted to let him die whereas Lexi is the one that said he needed to live to pay for his sins. His name and reputation will be destroyed. Who knows where all the money and artifacts go, does the government take them? As I said in a much earlier post, I can't stand Simon Hardwick. And this was before there was any inkling that he was evil and Karim Farouk. I don't care for his mannerisms or his hair either. But it seems like he is the designated villain for next season which I will not enjoy. I'm a little surprised that they tied everything so neatly in a bow, complete with Danny and Lexi kissing as the screen fades to black. Maybe they weren't sure if they'd get renewed and wanted to have a contained storyline. Which isn't a bad way to end it instead of a cliffhanger and then we never know what happens because season 2 never occurs.
  3. Good point, although it certainly wouldn't be surprising if Finn decided to keep that quiet. I don't think we've heard the last of Finn. If we have, that would be extremely disappointing. Maybe if this makes it to season 2 there will be a renewed rivalry. In regards to the ex-husband... he suckers the twins into thinking he is a fugitive to get them to hide him in their hotel. Presumably it's so he can get close to Gigi again? We saw that friend of hers tell her he wanted to get in touch again, but Santiago said absolutely not. So what is the plan? He mooches off their money, hides in the hotel from Santiago, some sort of obligatory shenanigans of Santiago walking in on Gigi and ex in some unintended compromising position? I'm enjoying the series as a campy summer fill-in. But I do find the actor that plays Danny to be boring as dirt. And his eye expressions which I'm sure he learned in acting school for soap operas bugs the crap out of me.
  4. Yeah, the "not going to be performing anywhere" certainly made it seem like he died. But why no mention of it? After so much focus on the Santiago and Finn rivalry, we didn't even get to see Finn again? I guess the balcony fell down and the hotel is closed. End of rivalry. What father throws his clearly drunk son car keys and then let's him walk out the door? Even right after Javi walked out and Santiago's pained reaction, why not run after Javi and not let him drive. Unrealistic, no matter how much they were fighting. Could have done without the whole Mrs. P and pot brownies cliché. So are Ingrid and Mateo going to get together? Why Mateo's sudden interest in Ingrid now? If there was ever a soap opera at night, this would definitely be one of them.
  5. First it was Finn stealing the guests from Santiago by offering free drinks. Then Santiago blocks the sun at the Finn with an El Rey billboard. So Finn fights back by stealing El Rey. And then Mateo's thugs apparently loosen four bolts and the entire stone balcony falls down. Yeah, this Santiago vs Finn thing has really gotten out of control. Guess Mateo has a different concept of nobody getting hurt. I see some of the comedy in these two hotels battling each other. But come on. Miami Beach is a big place. There's room for so many hotels. Ludicrous that two owners would engage in this petty competition. I can't see Javi possibly being dead. Although it would be interesting to see how that changes the relationship between Santiago and Mateo, as Santiago would blame Mateo obviously for that. Santiago said something to Mateo about how "he knows how [Mateo's people] take care of things" in a way that obviously implied they had something to do with Sky's disappearance. Count me in as somebody confused as well as to why Javi had a bottle of oxy with Sky's name on it.
  6. Yeah, we don't really know at this point anything at all. What exactly happened to Sky? It certainly sounds like Santiago was involved in directing her disappearance. So did she find out some family secret about the business from Yoli? Something so disastrous that she would have to disappear for? It's frustrating because we are many episodes in and we know nothing about her. I suspect she isn't dead but will resurface at some point in this series.
  7. Well, at least we finally got to see Cleo. Was wondering if this was going to be one those series where they're always chasing something but never find it. How obviously stupid it was of Lexi and Danny to not realize that island guy was going to double cross them. It's a deserted island, why do you need to bring a gun? Shaw is there I know for the comedic aspect. But he just seems clunky and not really necessary to the story. Simon - the poor man's William Dafoe - really bugs. What exactly is his purpose?
  8. Wasn't that policy instituted because they found out about Javi? Javi, although wasn't an employee at the time, is sort of de facto management as he's the son of the owner. And obviously Alicia and Danny wouldn't fly in the real world. But I agree, between employees at the same level, I don't see how or why they would care. Can't stand Mateo, but I know we're not supposed to like him at all. Paternity testing has come a long way. Previously would need an invasive test while the woman is pregnant to obtain DNA of the baby. But now I think it can be done through blood tests on the mother and the father. Everything about Mateo is smarmy. He could have sold out Ingrid, said that he wanted to be involved but she wanted to go after Javi's money, etc. Lots of options for him. Probably telling the truth would be best, but we know that's not going to happen. What is the back story again between Danny and Sky? Why were they in separate homes? Was this a broken marriage and one kid went to live with each parent? If this show were to live on for another season, what would be Danny's purpose for being at the hotel once they (hopefully) resolve this Sky mystery this season? Seems like a rather small locker room for the hundreds of employees that must work at the hotel. But interestingly, all the people of note have their locker in the same area.
  9. Mateo works for these presumably dangerous people that Santiago made a deal with to get a loan. Santiago had to give him a job, presumably on their instructions, so Mateo could keep an eye on the hotel and their financial interests. I may be misremembering, but I thought Santiago paid back $500K initially, and then Mateo asked for an additional $200K when he got the ransom note. It's late and I could be completely making that up. Santiago gave him the $200K knowing it wasn't for the loan sharks but because he was trying to figure out who the blackmailer was. Presumably Mateo got that money back when Nelson died. I don't quite understand the Mrs. P plant either. What's the point? She will presumably report to Santiago about the inner workings of the Finn. But what can she really do anyway? How will she undermine the Finn's operation? Annoyed by the actor who plays Danny and his soap opera facial expressions. Then again, this is a telenovela so maybe it fits.
  10. This. Obviously it's frustrating for us as the viewers to watch knowing that she is completely lying. But in real life, a guy would at least ask the woman if there was anyone else. And insist on a paternity test for sure. She's a complete stranger to him yet we are supposed to believe that he instantly takes responsibility despite having no recollection of sleeping with her. "Well, you did see me out of uniform one time." "Oh yeah, I wish I could remember that." So clearly they are destined to fall in love and enter into a real relationship. Yuck.
  11. I don't think that was Reece. Wasn't that Moshe (?), the guy who helped them realize they should go to Quebec instead of Argentina? I'm a little confused because I don't really know all the names. I thought the cross belonged to the dad of the guy with the crazy eyes who was going to kill Danny. Was that the last guy this Moshe guy was trying to find? So burning the crosses was symbolic that his job and task were now completed. Fabi dying was pretty obvious once he was exposed. So the caribineri turned their backs on Fabi, he had to hit and choke one of them to escape, and then when he turns up dead, they all of a sudden are all loyal to him again and are pissed off at Gwen as if it was her fault he died? Also if Danny was in the CIA before, wouldn't he know to get rid of his phone and buy a new burner phone so he couldn't be easily tracked just by typing in "Danny cell phone" into the computer?
  12. This was probably one of my least favorite ones so far. Didn't really care for the backstory with his dad, it just didn't seem to further the storyline of Cleopatra. So one of the paintings missing had something to do with Cleopatra. Who has? And why? It seems like such a loose connection but of course we're supposed to believe it means something. How is it that the ninja woman just knows where Danny and Lexi are all the time and just show up quietly out of nowhere? The scientist at one point seemed to spray the chemical in the air while testing it. How was that safe? And why would he go into a room with the portable controller just sitting there for Farouk to handle?
  13. I didn't think Korey was that helpful at all. If you're going to "work together" on something, once one person figures it out, you're supposed to share it with the other, no? Korey basically just booked it out of there, "just do this and that". I thought it wasn't really fair. I was seriously impressed with those guys remembering the 22 directions/landmarks. That would seem dang impossible. Colin rocked the rowing. Very impressive. That takes a lot of strength and coordination. The Afghanimals considered themselves great racers, but I just didn't see it. Sitting down out of frustration when you can't figure out the combo lock? How does that help? I wonder how many tries it took him and how long he was there. Seemed like just a simple case of following directions. We got too many confessionals with a smug Tyler that I was sure they won. I think we only saw maybe one or two of Colin and Christie, Colin was talking about the immense pressure knowing that whoever finished the drums first would win, and it looked like his eyes were a little teary so I was sure they lost.
  14. The Casablanca ones of course. Thought it was funny when Lexi responded "Joe" when asked to name a character. Loved the Raiders reference when both Lexi and Danny plopped down on the ground, and then lifted their heads to see themselves face to face with a Cobra. Finally realized that the actress who plays Lexi reminds me of a young Catherine Zeta-Jones. Exotic looking and great hair. Shocked that the writers allowed Danny and Lexi to get together. Maybe they weren't anticipating a season 2. Shocked the series was renewed but happy it will be. There are so many possibilities of artifacts they could hunt down and I'm looking forward to seeing the new scenery.
  15. Wouldn't they have assumed that Colin/Christie and Tyler/Korey were way ahead of them? And they knew that the Afghans U-turned them. So that would leave only Team Fun? Did Becca and Floyd both rap before they were paired up together? I would imagine that Floyd being the drum major did some beatboxing in his youth. But would Becca necessarily have done so? Or did she just learn and go with it because of Floyd? Disagree about Colin. I find him even more fascinating that he is now so calm, so introspective, level headed. That calmness has made them better racers. They don't panic when things go wrong (lost gnome), they seem really focused, and I don't think we've seen a single fight from them this season.
  16. Agree with this. I don't really understand the necessity of towing boats other than to make them do a task that was awkward. They could have just had to pick up several marked items, etc. The kayak would be tough because then they would have to kayak out to the island, after navigating through all the canals. It would have been very tiring. This is the first episode I can remember in a long time where we were treated to annoyance by the locals. I'm surprised that the guy on the motorcycle that got cut-off didn't offer some choice words as well too.
  17. I'm surprised that Phil didn't mention that they had to pole vault in previous seasons, but I guess the video from previous seasons wouldn't be as exciting as a "My ox is broken!" clip. Mainly because there was nothing challenging about the pole vaulting, especially when the judging was so arbitrary. Smart of Floyd to just toss the cheese across the canal. Floyd did seem to look at the eggs in the bag briefly but I guess he didn't know one was cracked. So why did Becca take the blame? Glad that Becca is gone. I always found her annoying. Thought the "Fun-ness" was fake, and we saw a little bit of her true colors with the smashing egg comment. Surprised that some of the locals were so unfriendly. "Are you guys idiots or something?" You would think that would be edited out. Tired of Korey's one hand to the chest and shocked expression on his face. Pulling for Colin and Christie!
  18. Loved the Raiders of the Lost Ark references! "They're digging in the wrong place!" and also the funny sequence where Danny wanted to go back for his hat. The show is campy, but I'm enjoying the treasure hunt.
  19. Finally caught up on last week's episode in time for tonight. If the traffic on this forum is any indication, then this show isn't catching on and it will be just a one and done campy summer substitute. Disappointing because I love the various locales and scenery, even if much of it is likely recreated on a green screen. I must have been dosing off a bit. Why was Lexi taking a picture/scanning the artifact with her phone. And when did the real artifact get replaced with a fake, since the real one had the jewels missing? So did Farouk want to make it look like he didn't take anything? What would the point of that be?
  20. She didn't give the clue to the Reillys because they were fighting for last place, plus Rachel is just such an unpleasant person to begin with. It would have been stupid to help her at that point and increase your chance of being eliminated. Yes. I think if they were racing for first, maybe she would have been more apt to try on her own. Or if she was confident in her ability to do something well, she would stay to herself. You keep racing as long as you don't finish last. That's all I think they were focused on at that point.
  21. That was my impression as well. Didn't the clue say something about the buoys? Colin and Christie went right to them. It's idiotic that the dudes didn't read the clue and realize that, even more idiotic that they bald snarked twice. If that's true, then that's one of the most obscure pop culture references that you couldn't possibly expect anyone to know. Yeah, this I agree with. "Soccer? I don't even know her!" But Croatia doesn't end in "her" so it makes no sense whatsoever. I'm done with Corey and Tyler's mugging for the camera. I'm wondering if in previous seasons that they racers were told not to look at the camera. I don't seem to recall the very early years with so much mugging. But then again, they did a whole YouTube season so I guess times have changed.
  22. I agree that Becca comes across as annoying. Appears nice, but secretly not. Floyd has this natural exuberance. Becca seems to have exuberance but only because she is playing into a role. I hated the dancing she did after the airport scandal and they got tickets. I loved the airport drama as well. Way more exciting when teams got an advantage by finding alternate routes and connections. Too much bunching now, "open at 7 am", etc. The tubing detour certainly seemed hard. It looked like Colin almost fell out of the raft at one point. Did the clue say that you had to recite the poem with flair? Noticed that the Afghanimals were so demonstrative in the early attempts, then they maybe thought it wasn't helping to convince the judge and were much more reserved in the later attempts. I have no problem with the teams helping each other on the roadblock and splitting the board in half. That's just smart racing. It looked like Floyd got it on the first chance (which may have just been editing) and that was impressive. Christie and Afghanimal helping each other is what caused Survivor dudes to finish last. We didn't even get to see those poor guys complete the roadblock, just saw them Philiminated on the mat.
  23. While I understand Nicole saying they were there first, which they were, there really wasn't a roped line where everybody has to wait and next available agent belongs to the person first in line. It's sort of like at the grocery store, baseball concession stand, or movie theater line. You see two lines - you send your wife to one line while you stand in the other. Whichever moves first, then the other switches over. Why didn't they think of that? I need to look into zen/meditation/self-growth/etc., because Colin and Christie are as cool as a cucumber this time around. Lost gnome? No problem. No drama, no blaming, no yelling - just turn around and get it done. And btw, Christie looks dang good in a bikini for a mom of two.
  24. Oh yes. Thought that was so dumb. But obviously they used speaker as just a way to allow both of them to hear at the same time. I think if they were in real life, you obviously wouldn't do that in a crowded café. And you certainly would be more vigilant of who is around you. I thought the implied killing of the elderly woman who was the kid in the picture was unnecessary. Having trouble keeping all the bad guys straight, they sort of all look the same with the exception of Oded Fehr of course.
  25. Oh for sure, I was just thinking the same. Burn Notice. Covert Affairs. I miss those shows! There is a lot of suspension of disbelief needed with this show. Agree that it's quite ridiculous that a whole treasure trove of Nazi loot is just stored in an easily discovered and unguarded underground bunker. That nobody would think it was odd that there was a wall there when there weren't walls anywhere else. That a calendar would be hiding the entry point. And didn't it look like already that the wall was cracked, as if somebody had tried to get in? The leads aren't great actors, but my expectations are so low. I love the accents on the female lead. And while yes, it's annoying that we are going to be constantly given scenes of the two of them with their mouths 1 inch apart - will they kiss or won't they - and we know they'll never get together - it makes for campy good fun.
