  1. I don't know, dude. My last 5 years, I audited clinical trials for the human subjects office. I was in an out of our uni's hospital all the time, from private offices, to shared spaces, and I had to check in in a lot of different types of settings. People had drinks, they might have a light snack, though I don't recall seeing anyone's lunch on their desk. However, I was there for business, so that wouldn't have been appropriate. I actually just called my son, who worked in one of the hospital offices (as opposed to someone like myself who made visits) and he said people ate lunch at their desks all the time.
  2. Kinda on/off topic. When I was in my doctoral program, I attended an academic conference and was gabbing with a bunch of other doctoral students from around the country. We were joking about having to find our 'good' shoes for the conference. One woman said, "I'm from Hawaii. I had to find my shoes."
  3. That's a bit hard core. At least we could have snacks (some 'snack drawers' got to be pretty famous in the department), and people often ate lunch at their desks, they just didn't eat all day at their desk.
  4. I gotta say, I love those polite folks from Texas.
  5. I only saw the casserole for a second - it looked like mac & cheese. Was it mac & cheese? I really like mac & cheese. If she had a big casserole dish of mac & cheese just for herself, I'd be really happy for her.
  6. That wouldn't fly in a lot of places. Not only the odor, but the chance of a mess, ruined documents, and it being really obvious that she isn't paying attention to her work if she is eating like that at her desk. We'd have to have a talk. I retired from a university. All kinds of 'personal problems' were coddled because that's typical in a university environment, but smelling up the place and not doing your work were not two of them.
  7. Don't knock it. Some eggs with kielbasa & mustard are pretty good.
  8. I swear, as much as I enjoy certain foods, as good as a nice meal can be, I just never found food to be a comfort and a joy. It certainly has never been my best friend. Ah jeez, another one who ate because she wasn't the center of attention. It never occurs to any of these people to lose themselves in a book, a job, volunteering, etc.
  9. My area has extended mandated masks everywhere (including outside if you can't social distance) to the end of May. Jeez.
  10. Indulging in more homemade buffalo wings with some coleslaw on the side and banana cream yogurt for dessert. Life is good. Hello, Pounders!
  11. OK, maybe 'Little Boy' is too much, but my 43 yr old is still 'Pumpkin' and 'Little Boo' to me. 'Boo' actually came from the family calling him Boo Boo Bear, not the way boo is used today. He seems OK with it, but if I called him 'Little Boy' in public, yeah, he might have something to say.
  12. Wolverines don't talk about failure. Obviously somebody from State dropped the ball and didn't let you know what was going on. Go Blue!
  13. I think Dr Now hoped he could help him lose at least some weight w/o the surgery, which would help his heart failure, then worry about the surgery. Without weight loss, our guy was a dead ice cream cone walking.
  14. Why do these dietitians and other ancillary health folks sound so stupid and patronizing when they introduce themselves to people? Theo and his mother are not 12 and they aren't 'special.'
  15. I wonder why Dr Now didn't remove the lymphodema like he did for Milla? "I guess it wasn't meant to be." Way to give up, mom.
  16. I don't know if this guy is wearing a cpap, or if he has one, if he's wearing it regularly.
  17. I gotta say, no disrespect, but I could not deal with these people as a professional. Not just this pair, but the random, low brain power, low incentive people like Jeanne and others who can barely communicate, don't follow directions, have poor hygiene, etc. Dr Now is a saint.
  18. Y'all remember when Nikki's father joked that now she's had the surgery, the donut place wouldn't be able to make its rent?
  19. I think his sleep apnea? I think that's what I heard.
  20. I know. I'll see a YT video and people don't have on masks and I'm like, "Where are your masks?" Then I look at the date and see it was Dec 2019 or early 2020. But you do get used to how society has changed, don't you?
  21. None of these people know the rules of civility. Dr Now comes in and you introduce him to your mother/father. Don't let them just sit there. I see it all the time.
  22. That would be funny. He's too heavy for them to get him out of the car and he forces them to rob banks and then go get fast food.
