  1. This site is great. Thanks! Very easy (and topical!) FJ indeed.
  2. West Coaster here and this Trump speech is pre-empting Jeopardy until later and I'm the only person in the world without a DVR. What was FJ? Kirstin still champ??
  3. If only I had seen this BEFORE final Jeopardy. Thanks for posting this! Very interesting!
  4. Definitely wouldn't consider Camp David a "US Landmark" and honestly I didn't realize it was in Maryland. Can you actually go to Camp David?? Kirstin continues to win games but as noted above her average winnings are pretty low. And all the totals today before FJ were pretty low as well. Wasn't a big fan of today's game. Ready for someone else to come in and take out Kirstin.
  5. No. There was no way he could beat Lilly. And I think he was trying to ensure he'd get second place by not betting much. If he'd have bet everything and Viraj got the answer right and he'd gotten it wrong I *think* Viraj would have gotten second.
  6. Viraj really freaked out that whole game. Just blindly buzzing in and making really bad guesses. I was joking with some friends during the interview portion when everyone was giving shoutouts to their friends and family that Lilly would be like "I thank no one". AND SHE DIDN'T THANK ANYONE. What a robot. That said she totally owned today's game and had been pretty great all tournament. She grew on me a lot and I enjoyed watching her win. Ready for regular games though. Oh and these kids really need to watch more TV. Or I watch too much TV. But they were terrible at the tv characters categories.
  7. When he said WWF I realized that I would have totally messed up and said "World Wildlife Federation". Kind of surprised they let WWF thru though.
  8. Is it just me or is Viraj seriously coming off like a total jerk? The guy has no poker face whatsoever. Lilly has been more likable for me as the game has progressed which is a good thing. And I didn't realize Gary is only a Freshman. That's very impressive. #teamGary
  9. The Kendrick question referenced "m.A.A.d. city" which is the title of his album before "To Pimp a Butterfly". I guess I know rap better than I thought. But that was a pretty easy get because it's a really distinct title.
  10. That was a weird game. I was thinking about what I'd do in 3rd place with a game that close. Decided I'd probably have wagered nothing or something low and hoped that the other two didn't get the answer correct and lost most of their money. And that's what happened. Don't know if I'd have actually thought that way in the heat of the moment but it was an easy decision watching from my couch!
  11. Maybe I'm not giving myself enough credit. But all of those songs / artists referenced were from the last 5 years or so. I'd imagine that being on a college campus would mean pretty significant exposure to all of them even if you weren't a fan. It was a fun category just to have Alex "rap" the lyrics.
  12. I'm 32 and got most of the rap category. Not a huge rap fan but if you're a pop culture follower or in the age bracket of these kids, most of them were easy gets. There wasn't anything obscure or anyone older being referenced. The question that included the word "Weezy" was referencing Lil Wayne (which was the correct answer) but Kanye West sometimes goes by "Yeezy" which is why Alex got tripped up there.
  13. Do we know how much longer he's signed on for? Was actually thinking the other day that I wonder if replacement conversations have happened but honestly he seems just as sprightly as ever so maybe not.
  14. That was why I didn't guess. I thought "Tennesseeum" must be too easy / obvious and that there had to be more to it than just recognizing some locations as being in Tennessee.
  15. Man, I was really pulling for Julia so that was a hard loss. Great game all-around though. I didn't get "selfie" and immediately smacked myself after the answer was revealed because it should be obvious. Lilly still bugged me starting in the middle of all the categories.
  16. Julia was one of the more likable contestants recently for me so I'm glad she got thru. Still thinking this is coming down to Vijay and Lilly. I don't recall them missing a lot of questions during their games. Julia was killing me with buzzing in with incorrect answers a lot.
  17. All this talk about buzzers and buzzing in. Can someone explain how that works? So you have to wait for the question to be read completely? And you get locked out if you buzz in too early?
  18. Literally the only thing I could think of was "Whig" but that came to mind immediately. Good game, not a whole lot to say. If I were the girl in 2nd place, I'd have not wagered anything and taken my chances with a pretty solid score ($18,000) but that's just me.
  19. CRAB louie and CRAB cakes. Oy vey. That one hurt. I liked Vijay and I like that he seems just as sharp as Lilly. I was pretty sure she was going to run away with the whole tournament but now that doesn't seem so likely. I know it's waaaaaay too early for me to be speculating about tournament winners btw.
  20. Hi guys. Mostly lurk in this thread but avid Jeopardy fan. Thanks for all the fun commentary! Man, Lilly was truly insufferable. The board jumping was driving me crazy. And I felt for the kid in the middle. Seemed kind of harsh that he was up against two seniors as a freshman. I guess that's how it works but those 4 years make a difference when you're so young.
  21. Yes. I actually saw him on one of the CNN roundtables a few days ago and they showed a clip from the previous episode. He seemed super embarrassed and uncomfortable about the whole thing.
  22. Honestly it was a bit of a letdown for me. I think I was expecting too much with Baldwin hosting but maybe getting him as Trump all this time has sort of negated the need for him to host right now. Nothing else stood out for me except for when he was playing Trump. The monologue especially felt very weak and very last minute. Spicer was mostly a retread and although it was still funny, it'd have been better if it had been distanced from the first sketch a week ago. Tracy Morgan was wasted on that very unfunny Beyonce sketch. Her having twins already seems like such old news at this point. A few things that killed me: - Barbie and then Moana. MOANA. I was legit laughing so hard. - "I won't be IGNORED Jake" (with the twist of her voice in "ignored" to mimic Glenn Close) - The Leslie plays Trump sketch. Leslie really benefits from a pre-record.
  23. FYI this site is SUPER NSFW. Thanks for this though! I wish there were more clips of the Sweeney Sisters online. I was too young for SNL when Jan Hooks was a cast member but everything I've seen her do is just incredible.
  24. That was awful. My best guess is that they realized Felicity was a terrible host and decided not to waste any good material (that wasn't topical) on her. I imagine next week's episode with Aziz will be much better. I adore Beck and I like seeing him as the male lead of the show but this just felt like overkill. Not sure why they didn't utilize some of the other guys more. Alex and Bobby were barely in this (was Bobby there?). I dunno. Tonight just seemed really off. Sturgill was great though and I love that he's getting wider recognition.
  25. Yeah my guess is that the music is the issue. Still you'd think with them devoting a new channel to "classic MTV" that they'd go ahead and scrub those seasons of all the music like they did with the first 4. Caught a good chunk of the SF season this weekend. Hadn't seen it in a while. I know it's one of the highest regarded seasons but man, that season was pretty boring a lot of the time. Pam, Mohammed and Cory were all basically non-entities. I also forgot that Puck actually lived in SF so even when he was kicked out they still had him on the show and followed him around. That was cool. Even his girlfriend got a couple personal interviews which might have been the first time that happened on the show. Pedro's husband Sean got one too.
