  1. I think Abby really liked the minis and was upset about them having been sent home. Maybe her way around it is to have them dance with the elites.
  2. JoJo was royally shown up by her mini partner. And how can these mums moan on and on about how they "shouldn't be dancing with minis" after they tore apart Kaylee Quinn (who is far superior to JoJo talent-wise) for looking vaguely put out by the same thing? JoJo's technique is awful. She honestly dances the EXACT same way as my 10 year old daughter who takes 3 hrs of dance a week recreationally and is considered just 'fairly good' in our average dance school. JoJo's mother is a dance teacher and she supposedly dances 7 days a week... she should be far better than this. She doesn't even perform/hit it the way she used to... not in a way that's above average. She is a recreational dancer through and through. I am so disappointed that they've decided to axe those minis, I'm finding them so much more enjoyable than the teens. I notice they're really promoting them at the moment on Facebook etc... why, when they're going to be gone in a couple of months? Honestly I think they're the best thing that's happened to the show for several seasons, finally some new life. Ugh, oh well. We'll have to keep watching Kendall it seems.......
  3. Nia and Kendall's duet was bad AGAIN because neither of them is a great dancer. I just re-watched it on YouTube and it's so blah and scrappy, they are always on the floor too long like they're heaving their weight around. It would have been an ok dance when they were cute in season 1/2. But if we're trying to make these girls 'shine' don't expose them by putting them together. Jess was completely mad with the whole pyramid thing. Having the minis is really exposing what incredible divas the mums are. I mean they were always nuts and pushy, but now we're seeing how the fame has so completely gone to their heads. I really hope that doesn't rub off on the girls... I understand the juniors attitudes towards the minis more. They seem to genuinely enjoy them and think they're cute but at the end of the day the juniors are teenagers and they're busy at that precise moment. They're not babysitters and shouldn't have to entertain the little ones whenever their mothers demand it. I am starting to really grow fond of the mini girls though. Certainly enjoy watching them more than Kendall.
  4. I really like having the minis in the show - the kids that is - I think it brings a lot of new life into the programme and it was fun this week watching two GOOD group dances, both mini and teen. I think it's a real real shame the producers decided to axe them. Perhaps they decided to because their mum's arguments are so very clearly staged and fake... whether because the producers are telling them to do that or they've decided for themselves to make drama and stay on the show. "Hope you trip and fall on your face!"..... really? Goodness me, that mum who thought her daughter 'stole the show' really needs to stop.
  5. And apparently the network have sent the Minis home. So minis are out and Candy Apples are in. Seems a real shame to me and an odd decision too... surely the minis were going to breathe some new life into the show and give it a future? The Candy Apples are just rehashing old storylines that have been done one thousand times over. Do we REALLY need to see Ava again?
  6. Poor Brynn. What a terrible environment for a 12 year old, and Brynn appears to me to be on the young side of 12 as well. Jess and Jill are RELENTLESS. Like Ashlee said, they're desperate to hear only what they want to hear, arguing against the eye-witness reports of their own daugthers because "his mother said it! HIS MOTHER!". They're vile. How Kendall's duet beat Brynn's I don't know. AWFUL. Is that kid ever going to sparkle even a tiny little bit?! She's just not got it. She's very dull to watch. Her duet partner at least had some personality about him, so presumably he carried them into 3rd place. There will never be another Maddie. If there is, it's not Brynn. I like her, she seems a lovely dancer, but she's not got the attitude to do it. Watching her at Club Dance is like watching a different kid, she's fantastic obviously because she's comfortable there. And nobody can blame her for being uncomfortable in this environment, but then take her out of it!! She's too good a dancer to be resorted to a nervous wreck like this. Group dance was average, I'm going to miss Maddie badly I think. Hopefully the minis can bring some fresh life into this show.
  7. It seems Abby has left Dance Moms and officially been replaced...
  8. Is there a break now before the next episode?
  9. Yes I agree with this. I was trying to think of how to word it, so thanks! I think it's harsh to say someone is greedy for charging money for something. As you say, it's business. It's life. If Chloe was not a celebrity, but made an app that charges, you'd say 'wow, go her, how entrepreneurial'.
  10. It's not at all the same. Dance teachers need proper qualifications to teach dance. To say Chloe's not qualified is a statement of fact rather than a scoff or a put down. You'll find the odd dodgy studio where the teachers aren't qualified, because the system is not properly regulated, but those studios are considered scams and daycares by those who know anything about dance. Proper dance teachers will have trained and earned teaching qualifications.
  11. I enjoyed it. But what was it with JoJo's performance? With the three random girls and Kendall dancing behind... blimey, what a hot mess that was!
  12. I think it's very easy to grow used to and fond of all the attention too, as much or more so than the money. Most of the girls wouldn't be getting that sort of attention in the dance world if not for the show. Nia gets a lot of positivity from fans, I expect that's hard for her to let go of, and Holly seems just as hungry for it.
  13. Yes, I agree with all of this. Really what's happening with Chloe is quite odd. I never saw her as the child that would go out into the world with dreams of stardom. I saw her more as the normal child who was a good dancer, occasionally overlooked (but not really!), who would enjoy this hobby and thrive in it for a time and then go and take her exams and go to college. Isn't that why people were mad for her, because she was so sweet and normal? In a way I see this fame-seeking as more of a bitter chip-on-my-shoulder thing from both her and Christi. But hey, who knows. Christi was always mad. Crazy, awful woman. In season 1 and 2 Chloe got all the same opportunities as Maddie and Christi really would stop at nothing to paint her out as the victim. I couldn't bear watching her hiss at her daughter, 'Abby hates you. Abby's trying to sabotage you. Abby is setting you up to fail'. What kind of parenting is that?! Even if it had been true, Christi's job as a mother was surely to say, "Abby's putting you up against this kid because she wants to push you, and she believes you're good enough to take her on." I mean gees. Remember when she SCREAMED in front of 8-year-old crying Maddie, "how many times has my daughter BEAT your daughter?!". Yet people put the awful woman on some pedestal!! Say what? Chloe lacks the star quality for me, perhaps always has, although she was no doubt a darling child at the start of the show. That's why I don't predict Grammys and Vogue and Hollywood in her future. I wonder if a normal life is still something that's on the table for her, in her mind?
  14. I always loved Maddie's confidence in season 1. It's not arrogant to want to win. Nor do I think it came off as arrogant when she quite fairly and quite sweetly (imo) would observe 'I think I'm going to win this one'. Despite how young she was I found that quite an inspiring and admirable quality. I think it's strange that fans of Chloe want to insist with such determination that she's as good, that she's as famous, that she's as popular etc. In terms of ability the girls started exactly the same, no doubt about it, but Chloe's passion dissolved through the show and in her last season there was no comparing the two anymore; they just weren't on the same level. I watch Chloe's channel and still think the same if I'm honest, though she's definitely improved immensely since getting her passion back. As for being 'more' famous, I think it's quite clear there are no comparisons there either. Maddie is known in the world outside of Dance Moms, whereas currently Chloe is not really. People know Maddie Ziegler's name who have never watched or heard of the show. Chloe is of course popular - fans of the show love her and that's proved by her TCA, but I can't see her dancing on the Grammys or Ellen Show at any point in the near future.
  15. I definitely thought the Chloe stuff was the most interesting... unbelievable if Abby really needed two weeks to get over the fact Chloe got a movie role.
  16. Oh my Gawd. This show. These women. I hope and assume it was EDITED to look like Melissa interrupted the mum with the disabled son, to complain about how they're talking about that instead of Maddie & Mackenzie. I'll have to watch it back to see if that's the case. But holy hell, either way. That woman is completely brainless to do such a thing!! I get why she was upset about Abby's attitude towards Maddie and Mackenzie. It was very odd and jarring for Abby to be so dismissive. I don't blame Melissa for expecting more... perhaps a lyrical dance that dealt with the other girls saying goodbye, perhaps a bit more of a fuss made. I get why she felt hurt and short-changed, sure. I would too. But to openly, out-loud rant about too much attention being on a disabled son... wow. Sh*t for brains. I also see Abby's point of view. She can't mope around making it look like her career and tv show and dance studio are over now these girls are gone. She HAS to look to the future - and fast. Maddie's dance was gorgeous, made me teary actually. I wish Mackenzie could have placed - what a shame she got lumbered with yet ANOTHER terrible acro dance on her last episode. Areana's dance was lovely too and yes, better than half the elite team. The crazy manipulation of making us like the mini team... well, it's working on me. Mainly because of the 'elite' mums behaviour, rather than because Abby and the producers are pulling out all the stops to manipulate us into liking them. The elite mums need to GO. With Maddie and Mackenzie gone, how many people will truly care about that team anyway? And the mums are simply AWFUL. Get rid. The minis seem cute, lets watch them instead. HILARIOUS that Kendall told those kids to use faces. ETA: Of course kids leave dance schools all the time, though the situation is a little different here. The girls and mums have been through something rather exceptional, like it or not. They have shot to celebrity status, had all the cameras, spent every living day together as far as I can see. That makes it a little different than your average dance competition team. And given what a massive part Maddie in particular had to play in it, I don't blame Melissa for expecting more from Abby.
  17. I'd like to know what the show producers are thinking right now. They must know the score but I can't imagine they'd cancel the show when it's so popular for Lifetime. But it needs a recast at this point, right? The mums are vile and the girls we are left with seem to have abruptly become a forgettable team without Maddie and Mackenzie.
  18. I don't see why the producers would want Chloe to leave, given she was the firm audience favourite at the time and that stirred up a lot of discussion and online activity. That's exactly what they want. I certainly don't see why they would want Maddie to leave - her rising celebrity status only does wonders for their show. Seems Abby causes the producers more grief than anyone and they've not got rid of her, so I see no reason to believe they'd have asked anyone else to go.
  19. Yes, all the girls have other siblings. Hard to imagine isn't it!
  20. The mums are disgraceful. For the first time, I've decided I would like to see the mothers and their girls axed from the show. Just get them off and make them watch as other mums and other kids take their place. I realise I don't care very much anyway, with Maddie gone. I've certainly no interest in watching Kendall dance, nor Nia to be honest (sorry Nia). And it would serve the mums well to get a reality check that they don't own the tv show. Like Ashlee said in her interview, they were in 'the right place at the right time' when the tv show came along. Now they have become vile, vindictive monsters. Melissa must be incredibly dumb too. The stuff that comes out of her mouth!! She's insufferably arrogant!! But why use her and her daughter's last moments on the show to display herself that way?! Just stay quiet, see it through and leave with dignity! But no, of course not. She's going to damage her children's careers if she carries on that way - I can imagine everyone wants to beat her down a few pegs if that's her attitude. And I love how the mums are still trying to use social media to deny bullying Brynn and saying it's edited. Yes it's edited, but they can't edit words into your mouth, nor wide-shots where we see Brynn is WELL within ear-shot and taken aback but the callousness of the grown women's words aimed at her. Ugh, just awful. Get them off and let them wallow in self-pity when nobody cares they've gone.
  21. That's just it! Brynn is FABULOUS outside of Dance Moms! More why it's such a shame that she's even doing this. I don't know whether she's intimidated at DM, or that Club Dance was her home where she could excel and express like that... who knows? But as far as I can see, none of the girls are able to do their best work on Dance Moms. Any guest that comes in only gets to show a tiny fraction of their abilities.
  22. As much as I'm glad Mackenzie did well and that she does seem to have confidence and passion when it comes to this genre, I have a feeling Maddie would be better at it. The few hiphop/jazz/commercial videos I've seen of Maddie, she's fantastic and I wish she did commercial/jazz more on the show rather than lyrical all the time. Mackenzie could give her a run for her money in this genre though more so than she would in others. And I think it's unfair to say Maddie "isn't that good", and to say so is as big of an exaggeration as saying she's a prodigy. She's clearly very very good. I'd say she's exceptional. And yes there's hundreds of exceptional dancers out there and once they get to that level I think it becomes difficult to compare them because it's down to taste. Imo Maddie just has a natural presence and flare for the stage and she looks so effortless when she dances. I think the 'effortless' part is where she mainly differs from most of her other teammates, bar the Club Dance pair.
  23. Interview with Brynn's mum Ashlee... http://realmrhousewife.com/2016/04/19/ashley-allen-dance-moms-exclusice-interview/ She says that Kendall screaming at her was a set-up by Kendall and Jill to get out of there and get to an audition. Not sure how I feel about that... Kendall seemed pretty real to me, unless she's a better actress than we thought?
  24. I didn't see the segment but to be fair, isn't this what all kids do these days? The obsession with Instagram and Twitter followers certainly isn't exclusive to just these girls. Regarding the episode, I agree with previous comments that the good hip-hop dancers out there would DESTROY these girls! However I'm really glad that Mackenzie got to prove herself. And she impressed me actually... whether it was jazz or hiphop or whatever it really was, I'm glad it wasn't another stupid acrobatic dance. I really hate those. And she proved herself a performer here. Good to see :) As for JoJo, I feel she's digressing a bit. She's been a little sloppy in her last two solos - solos where she should have shined. Those isolations should be sharp and easy for her but they were... blah. I like her and I like her attitude but, yeah, an average dancer. I loved the group dance choreography. I like Brynn and she is SUCH a gorgeous dancer (especially if you watch her solos with Club Dance and at the Dance Awards). I want to see her let go a bit and learn to project more feeling/emotion, it's the only thing letting her down. I can't see her as a real Maddie replacement for that reason. Maddie's stage presence to go along with the ability will be really missing when she's gone - I'm going to miss her a lot. Yes and these women are nasty pieces of work and utter morons. The hypocrisy and unwillingness to admit it when it's being pointed out to them so clearly is MADDENING. You can not rip into a child's personality. Sheesh.
  25. The lack of emotion from Maddie could also be because she's still taking classes at ALDC LA. She's not left Abby... just the elite team and television show. She seems to be there, at the studio, regularly. Also I've always thought she was quite a poised kid - not one to show much emotional in any situation.
