  1. Agree, Laurieann was spot on throughout. And I may get criticism for this but I was especially pleased to see Nia get taken down a peg or two. Her dancing is heavy and lazy almost all of the time. It's about time it got pointed out to her. Of course her and Holly will keep going back to their 'victim' speech, but fact is Nia's has been dancing too long and too often to have the lack of technique that she does. What a terrible waste of two smart people's time. And yes, all of the mums and girls think they've made it, when they've not even started yet.
  2. I loved the episode. I like the new choreographer and it was good to see her shame Kendall for being lazy - it might be just what Kendall needs. I felt a little for Chloe, being so out of her depth with the MDP girls (glad they're back - love their dances). It's Christi who I just can't stand, although it's possible I love to hate her.
  3. What scenes were these? I must have missed them somehow??
  4. I find it surprising how bitter and cruel people can be. I know Abby wasn't nice to Paige and Chloe, but to throw a party for the woman going to jail? And what could she have done that was so bad to Mackenzie? I wonder if the fact that no fuss was made of the girls on their last episode and Abby gave Mackenzie a solo destined to lose was actually the final straw for Melissa, or if it was something else behind the scenes. On the one hand I think Abby must actually be a pretty terrible person, for real, to have so many people - including old friends - rejoice at her prison sentence. On the other hand I think these people are just a bit twisted. Who knows. Cathy's post seems the most normal of all of them.
  5. So is the general consensus that Abby and the Ziegler's are through? Apparently they've all unfollowed each other on Instagram (read in a YouTube comment, no idea if that's true). Last I heard before this was Abby was calling and crying to Melissa when the mums ditched her, so I guess there's been a rift since then. Hm. I'm not Abby's biggest fan but seems a bit hard that she'll now get no credit from Maddie or the Ziegler's for Maddie's success. Stressful or not, Abby's constant pushing and praising of Maddie really helped get her where she is. But there must be a reason people seem to turn so easily on her, so...
  6. I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Studio 19, a Pittsburgh studio. MDP is an LA studio (I think) who have been on the show before. I love their dances. Chloe is presumably only dancing with them for the television show. I would assume she's never trained or danced with them before the cameras started rolling.
  7. So according to Instagram, Chloe...
  8. Yes. I got the vibe that only Chloe and Nia were really friends - it was a little awkward otherwise. Kendall and Jill never seemed too fond of Chloe back in the day.
  9. Just seen on Brynn's instagram they're encouraging kids to go to another 'Dance Moms' competition, so I guess it's been renewed for another season?! I wonder if Chloe will be back as a regular? I could never stand Christi for a moment and disliked the 'victim Chloe' routine she shoved down everyones throats (long before Chloe actually did become victim of Abby, in my opinion) but I would be interested in seeing Chloe on the show now, with her new confidence. She'd be risking a fall from grace though, I think, since right now she's the 'hero' of the programme. I'd also be happy to see this entire cast scrapped and just go to a new school, new teacher, new kids.
  10. Woah. Did not see that coming...
  11. Yes that's true and I never disliked Maddie's confidence, on the contrary I admired it. I just saw her getting a lot of stick for it whilst Nia gets praised. I admire Nia's confidence too really, the difference is though that she hasn't got an ounce of Maddie's talent but seems to have a hell lot more entitlement and occasionally rudeness towards other dancers.
  12. The point is quite right that when Maddie would say 'I think I'm the best' and so forth she was branded arrogant and too big for her boots by the viewers, whereas Nia will say 'I can do this, this, this and this... and she can only do... what is it? Errr... acro?' in that "sassy" (or extremely rude?) way and be praised for it. Yes, she's got a lot of the audience behind her - more so than Maddie back in the day - mainly because she's NOT good and there's a "you go girl!" mentality. If a genuinely talented kid said the same things, or acted the same way as Nia did in that pyramid, everybody would dislike them for it. Imagine if Maddie had been all raised-eyebrows and backchat when she came second row in pyramid, with no regard for the poor lass who got to the top for the first time!! It just wouldn't have happened. Nia's entitled attitude with the fact she's not actually a great singer (unarguable average at best) or dancer (same thing) and it's all a bit of a poor show really. But for some reason she gets away with it in the viewers eyes because 'underdog'.
  13. Wow. Yolanda is completely barking mad. It's hard to watch... harder than Christi, who I thought could be disgraceful, because Yolanda seems to actually be bad for Elliana. And Elliana seems a sweetheart and a lovely little dancer, I wish her mum could just support her rather than push and berate and suffocate. A case of trying to live through her daughter, but with absolutely zero self-awareness of how mad she's coming across. And I agree with the comments about Nia. Bang out of order. Advocating for oneself is fine, but she was just gobby and rude. And bratty and spoilt. If I was Abby, or any teacher, I wouldn't have accepted it. Nia and Holly have been unjustifiably entitled for a couple of years now. I'm sure Nia assumed she'd be celebrated for being such a grown up, wise, self-advocating young woman but that's not how she came across at all. And what's with Holly's "why is Brynn leading the dance, why not Nia or Kendall?".... because Nia & Kendall are clearly the worst freakin' dancers on the team, and "team" includes the minis. ETA: Sassafras I'd like to hear more dirt!
  14. Holly has been insufferable, deluded and entitled for a long time. I always thought she was much worse than Melissa, who's kid at least had the credentials to back it up.
  15. Nicaya's mum talking about last week's drama
  16. I agree with others that whilst Kendall's solo wasn't bad per se, I was thinking the whole time how I'd love to have seen Maddie doing it instead. I loved the ALDC group dance. Not so keen on Cathy's group because I was on edge wanting Vivi to do well and not be shown up. Poor kid shouldn't have been in that costume - I don't know that Cathy's doing her any favours having her dance with those girls but I'm sure the meaning was all good. Seemed a little unfair for the editors to put the bit in about Nikaya shaving her underarms - quite embarrassing for a teenage girl to have that air on television and unnecessary to be in the episode?
  17. I also thought Nia and Kalani's duet was the superior one. And yes, absolutely the partnerships that make more sense are Brynn/Kalani and Kendall/Nia, however Kendall/Nia's duets have always been utterly awful. Both of them, Kendall in particular, need to hide behind better dancers. I liked the ALDC routine much more than the Candy Apples one. It did feel like the old days again with a pretty lyrical/contemporary groups, more like the Maddie days. I guess it hadn't occurred to me that those dances pretty much stopped and were swapped with gimmicks after Maddie left.
  18. Brynn danced beautifully but that song put together especially about the ALDC was cringy! Kendall was bad, again. Like others have said, "get rid of who’s holding this team back."... so do it already!!! It's Kendall and Nia. It always has been. And I also agree that Kalani and Nia just look silly on the show now, they are too old for it. Sounds like I'm in the minority, but I wish the minis weren't being cut. If I were the producer I would keep the minis with Abby, let the elites go off to some other teacher, follow both stories for a while then gradually edge the elites out of the show since they're just getting too old for it and too over it. But no, we have to follow them till... till when? Abby's in jail or till they're off to college? I did chuckle at Payton's mum taking the wrong child.
  19. I loved Brynn and Kalani's solos - so beautiful. I'd have been interested to have seen Kendall's actually...I don't usually like watching her dance, but who knows, some fresh choreography may have lit a tiny little fire in her? I wasn't so sure about the group dance. Kalani seems to strongly dislike Abby in these recent episodes, more even than the other girls who all seem genuinely displeased themselves. I feel like there's real resentments brewing behind the scenes that we're not seeing.
  20. Hundreds of thousands. Granted it's becoming the done thing to use autotune more often than necessary but that doesn't change the fact that there are gorgeous singers out there. And many amazing child singers - I can point you towards a lot of youtube channels that will show you the talent out there, which is what makes it so hard to see Nia and Kendall being brainwashed into thinking they've got something. But yes, their army of publicists will get them around the people who will say the right things.
  21. The singing is incredibly cringeworthy. I'm surprised they actually aired that footage of Nia in the recording booth, it was terrible, and the note she was trying to hit wasn't even particularly high, ouch. There are so many incredibly talented kid singers out there, while Nia & Kendall sing like teens in their bedroom/karaoke singers. Their deluded mothers are putting them in embarrassing situations on national television. Other than that the episode was slow like they didn't really have enough going on to drag it out into two episodes so thought they'd show us waaaaayyyy too much mediocre singing footage. I am looking forward to seeing all of the dances next week.
  22. See I am actually enjoying the mini/elite 'drama', or at least the fact that we have both teams on the show. It means that every now and then we get to see some good choreography like Suicide Hotline, but there's also new life with the minis who are adorable. With a couple of new members on the elite team, plus the mini team, I could keep watching this show for the foreseeable future.
  23. Quite. It's hard to see what Jess and JoJo were thinking. They're so obsessed with the 'brand' but this has not impressed anybody, she'll have only lost supporters.
  24. To be fair, they're performing to the 900,000 tv viewers and subsequent thousands of viewers online, so not just 1/4 of a competition audience. I thought the dance was very moving. I'm glad Kalani is getting more air time and opportunities now. She seems a lovely girl and is a beautiful dancer. Kendall was actually much more bearable in this episode, on account of embracing the ballet duet and getting on with it, so JoJo did her a favour there. As for JoJo... where to start?! The Kardashian dreams and quitting on the spot because of a ballet duet (supposedly) would be bad enough, but when we look back on everything Jess has said with her constant harassing of Abby for more technique classes, her picking on Brynn for crying and her constant spiel about how "JoJo will do anything!!!" in comparison to other kids... it's really embarrassing. How is QUITTING because of your own terrible technique helping JoJo's "brand" then? The brand would have been far better helped by JoJo taking it on the chin and doing it, a quality she previously prided herself on. Oh well. Bye JoJo. None of the girls or their mums seemed all that bothered either.
  25. Oh dear JoJo. She's just not a talented dancer. The passion and energy that worked for her at 9 does not work at 12. Energy is all she has going for her yet still nowadays her moves are lacklustre so that's gone as well. As for Kendall, that girl is NEVER going to be able to perform. When she was little there was potential... it might have all clicked one day... well it hasn't. Now it's clear she's just not got it. She's a below average dancer I say, based on her being so completely devoid of presence. Yes her turns are good but it's not enough. I wish Kalani had had that dance. And the idea that Kendall will be a pop star is a serious joke. Kalani. What is going on there? Like others said, WHY is she on the show pretending to be worse than she is, being pitted against Kendall and JoJo with the illusion of actual competition? Why doesn't Kira care? I was surprised - although it was obvious - when she outwardly stated she'd never compete anything Kalani had done there. Are they simply there then because Kalani really wants to be? And why does she? She doesn't strike me as fame hungry like JoJo and Kendall. Weird one. Holly lost the plot several years ago, I just find it maddening that she's lost all rational so much she can't even take a long hard look at herself. You need to, Doctor Holly.
