  1. I'd only be interested in them showing the rest of the episodes if they had some sort of resolution. I don't care if shows don't run forever with multiple seasons - and I say that as someone who is still watching Supernatural... I would much prefer a satisfying story with a satisfying ending, even if it takes just 13 episodes. Or 4. Who knows? What I really can't stand is this "let's try this" then 2 weeks later, "nope!" and "next!". Why should I give them my viewing time if they are just going to screw me around?
  2. One thing: I really, really didn't care about KH's romantic drama with the is-he-or-isn't-he-guilty doctor. Yawn. She was just part (and not the most interesting part) of a nice ensemble to me.
  3. Wow. That was quick and brutal. And kind of disappointing. I thought it was quite good (for what it was). I didn't find Heigl annoying. I LOVE Dule Hill. I would watch him in anything. It was nice to see Judith Light and Elliot Gould. I liked Laverne Cox's character. Basically I'm agreeing with most of above, except I didn't find KH to be a problem. What are they wanting instead?
  4. I’m a wreck. I just saw Lion today too so I am all over the place. That was brilliant. Upsetting (as in apple cart and personally) but brilliant. But Waaah! I need a Good Michael, especially at the moment, and now that illusion has been shattered and we have the rest of 2017 in front of us. And we’ve got no idea what the Good Place would be like because we’ve all been in the Bad Place. All season. Evil Ted Danson. The world is wrong! Good Janet save us! That Schur guy is just- I need to process. Yes, Michael is obviously tweaking a la noting Eleanor's motivation with the mailbox fire. I'm trying not to ship anymore but that Eleanor and Chidi stuff at the end was so sweet. And will they recognize each other in some way when they meet again? Any of them, you know, soul-mate style. It's still the four of them in their private hell presumably. I guessed NOTHING. And I am normally pretty good at plot developments and lines word for word. And a nice Memento style start to the next season perhaps?
  5. Oh, okay. I thought that was his earthly place. Obviously I have not watched closely enough and will need to re-watch all of them pronto. Tahani's house is impressive but I don't think I'd want it. I'd go for a well-appointed cabin in the mountains. I'd probably be happy in Eleanor's as well, bar the creepy clown nook.
  6. It's probably come up before, but I don't get why Tahani and Eleanor have their own places but Jason and Chidi seem not to. They have lives and backstories (oh, how I love those backstories) so don't seem to just be constructs in Eleanor and T's universes. Surely their versions of the Good Place would include their dream houses, but I don't think it's even been referenced. Of course, Jason has is his cave in Tahani's house and as he is not meant to be there, that could be why he doesn't have a place, but when real Eleanor comes along, they all have to work out how to fit in to real/fake-Eleanor's house. I would have thought Chidi would have a book-filled library or something at the very least. So much thought has gone into this show's universe, I don't understand why this is not explained. It can't be an oversight surely.
  7. Nothing particular to add, I've just been snarking about another show, but I just need to say that I love this show. Love, love, love, love. LOVE.
  8. I am conflicted! I’m curious. I love me some twistory, peoples' relatively positive comments above are making me question my hold-out status, but I have so much ill feeling after all the manipulative rubbish in season 2 and 3. I don’t trust them, and I don’t want to give it my time. I read something somewhere about how TPTB will often tank a show if its audience is not conforming to their target demographic. Eg. too many women either in it, (or possibly female viewers) for a show they were trying to skew to a male audience. And probably vice versa - although I don’t think that they are as worried about that. Maybe last incarnation SH’s viewing demographic wasn’t fitting where they intended, hence the reboot. But I guess who cares? I’m probably not their target audience anyway, I certainly got the message at the end that they didn’t care about me as a viewer. So, we’ll probably leave it at mutual dislike. I’ll be reading the comments here though. Always entertaining. Three (still holding grudges into 2017)
  9. I'm afraid to speak of my affection for this show, because I seem to have the kiss of death. The fact that it is just competing with repeats of Kevin Can Wait is pretty depressing. I think it's got better every week. I'm loving the unpeeling of the characters. Plenty more flaws to discover. I like the ideas getting thrown around. We may all come out of it better people. Overall, it's fun and the cast are fun. When it started, I couldn't see where Schur could go with the premise, it seemed limited, but he's been building on it every week. We're in.
  10. You know what??? (still pissed off here.) I could cope without Ichabbie (tho I loved them), the relationship drama etc. but they had such a fantastic show/premise in the beginning (S1): history, mystery, horror, monsters, myth, humor. A show with a bit of perspective, and a fantastically diverse cast and they stuffed it up so completely! Old ground, I know, I'm obviously not over it. For a while there Sleepy Hollow was my happy place and I was prepared to forgive it a lot because I thought they'd right the wrongs eventually. But noooo. Don't worry. Brief flare up. I'm over it. I just haven't found a replacement yet. It's made me hyper aware of all the gaping inadequacies in what we're offered. I want better. Much, much better. And when I read of these developments it just annoys me all over again. Call it something else, show destroyers. You ground SH into the mud. At least I'm reading more.
  11. No yays from me. I can't find a scrap of enthusiasm. And an evil tech billionaire... how original.
  12. And I also liked Janina in Mysteries of Laura. But not enough to change my mind about this.
  13. Hah! I'm glad you're all still here keeping the faith (or lack of). I still can't believe what a dog's breakfast they've turned this into. I'm getting a headache from all the eye rolling I'm doing reading about "the improvements". What an uninspiring mess. I won't be watching.
  14. Fingers crossed it is a role worthy of her talent.
  15. I stopped watching Castle a while ago, in part because I got so bored with the love story and partly just bored. Why do they think they have to turn relationships into a drama? They did a similar thing with Beckett that they did to Jenny. She fell in love and became all soft and vulnerable and had trouble dealing with it. Dealing with her "feminine" feeelings that she'd pushed down for so long. That may have changed on Castle, as I said I stopped watching, but all of a sudden a BAMF woman falls in love and loses what made her great because feeeelings turn girls all conflicted and soft. This is not thought through, you can tear me down, I may be wrong, but why can't BAMF women just love and get on with things? I'd be up for that.
  16. Agreed. I think he is in an unenviable position if the reboot fails, with him as the star meant to be carrying it. I'd want danger money for that.
  17. I am really glad she has another gig lined up, don't get me wrong here, and it sounds like the remake could be interesting and timely. But from my faulty recall, and if they don't stray too far from the original, the casting options for her in Jacob's ladder are wife or girlfriend. Hopefully moving forward she gets roles that put her front and center.
  18. Me too. I've never had a reaction like this before. Plenty of shows have made creative decisions I haven't liked, but I'll just put them in the "stupid show/stupid decision" or "okay, don't like it, but it makes sense" files in my head and move on. But I can't watch this now, even episodes I enjoy, it makes me too sad. I think part of the reason I am analyzing this to death is to try and distance myself from how upset I am.
  19. Basically what happened for Katrina when she was in Purgatory.
  20. I wonder about this. There were a couple of instances in early season 3 that made me go what-was-that-about? Once, in Abbie's unbelievably massive office an assistant of some sort came in and was star-struck by Crane, although neither Crane nor Abbie noted it. I put it down to an over-enthusiastic extra making the most of every moment. Then I think there was another occasion where another assistant was dazzled by Crane. They're shooting for Crane: Lady Killer as well as those other great titles people came up with.
  21. So it seems that what I was taking as misguided fixes to a non-existent problem (ie. How do we fix SH1?), actually was a deliberate strategy. And obviously from on high. Someone didn’t like the way SH was heading. I loved it because of where it was heading. Various muddled thoughts below. There may be a better place for this, but as it is mostly responding to commentary in this thread I'll stick it here, but there’s not much media involved and a whole lot of WTFery. I’ll give you a TL/DR now in case you want to skip it. Basically, Sigh/WTF/Snark/Sigh. Choosing their fixers If you are TPTB, you choose your showrunners and writers to reflect your view of the show. Goffmann was brought in because he reflected TPTB direction: let’s whiten this thing up. Diversity? Pfft! His arrogance was to think that if he pushed on through with his dream-girl, everything would be as it should. That was a colossal failure. So they tried again. We got CC who superficially spouted and presented enough to keep the fans thinking he is fixing it, give him time. That was certainly me. This year we were fed a whole lot of BS. I almost consider him worse than Goffmann now. Words that come to mind: disingenuous, sly, manipulative, insincere. He didn’t have an obvious infatuation (a la KW), but the plan to dismantle what SH was, was there. It was some grade A manipulation of the viewers. You select writers that are on the same page. The ones that don’t fit and don’t agree disappear. In the end there’s only simpatico writers in the echo chamber. You can all keep patting yourself on the back as to how your vision is superior and will be AWESOME. The fans you have now are merely disposable fodder for your vision for the fans who will come. Who’s going to be watching when you get rid of us? The disconnect is staggering. Now for some side-snark about Metzner and LG. Subtitle: writer wish fulfilment/actor ambition. I was looking at Metzner’s feed on twitter after this went down wanting to see what he said. The thank yous went up: firstly Nikki Reed, then the crew, then LG (just have a look at it, she is literally looking deep into the camera, sitting on a throne), at this stage I am checking back to see when NB gets a look in, Lance Gross, Jessica Camacho (still no NB), Peter Mensah, directors, Shannyn Sossamon, Clancy Brown, (NB? NB? Where are you?), Zach, FX crew, Atlanta, Tom Mison, the writers, his writing sidekick, (NB??), a plea to stick with the show, (*cough* Yoohoo NB?? *cough*), some more guff and then a thank you to the fans and a BTS pic of NB. Maybe I missed it, I scanned it twice, but I can see no thank you to the leading lady, which even if it wasn’t heartfelt, would only be good form. So much gracious. So telling. Major side-eye Metzner – and LG. LG gets thrown in there because it was only after a lot of shade was thrown on twitter about her lack of comment regarding NB etc that she mentioned it. Beware an infatuated writer or producer. <Insert muttered curses here> Side note: Never got into the Glades, but I did watch a couple of episodes and remember some pretty clunky auto product placement in that. It was striking enough that I remember a couple of years later how out of the ep it took me. This is obviously one of CC’s go-to techniques. YWM viewers Who in their right minds thinks a man like TM would be the main draw-card for this demographic? Like really, YWM are going to be “Oooh! Tom’s on! Must watch!” He is a charming, sexy, lanky, British bloke. He plays a smart guy. Charming, sexy, lanky and smart are some of my favorite things. If I saw him in person, no doubt I would go a bit silly which is why, although it is extremely unlikely, I hope I never meet him. BTW I would also go dizzy and silly for Idris Elba, Stephen Colbert, and many others. The list is long. But in case you haven’t picked this up from my posts, I am not a YWM. Someone obviously thinks he is the right fit for what they are trying to achieve. The noble, knowledgeable alpha WM who knows best and stands for the best of America? No shade on Tom, just trying to work out what they are trying to do here and who are they trying to appeal to. Who is Crane standing in for? Whose wish fulfillment is he living out? What does he represent? I’ve thought quite a lot about why I loved this show and why I am so so sad at how it went down. People have articulated this much better than me. Miss Dee’s epic post a while ago summed up my thoughts about why Abbie was so important. I tried to find it to link to it but I’m not very good using this. That was a great post Miss Dee. The post phoenics linked said so much more clearly than I could reasons I loved this show. http://steelrigged-blog.tumblr.com/post/142688874681/post-mortem-on-sleepy-hollow My love was beyond cheering for ichabbie and a positive, equal interracial couple. The whole thing could have been epic. I came for the history and was blown away by what was happening from the first episode. I don’t mean romantically. It was bigger than that and it was beautiful. What made it beautiful to me and nearly everyone who watched, made it threatening to the small echo chamber with the power. Stupid, ugly FOX. It would be so great if SH could be rescued but I think they’ve killed it. You are well out of that mess, Miss Beharie. And as I said in an earlier post, run Mison run. Edit: No content change, just fixing small typos which once seen I could not unsee. I can't even blame autocorrect.
  22. Quoting myself here, but I just realized how inconsistent this is. I should be a shoo-in for a job with Sleepy Hollow PR. Sigh.
  23. I know you probably realize this but I am not throwing any shade at Tom whatsoever. He seems like a sweetheart. I'm just giving up speculating because I'll never really know. And all I know about either of the actors is a few snippets from the web. But I wish them both only happiness and good things always.
