I thought the ear looked realistic but the placement looked weird. The fake ear looked lower and further back than the real ear. Of course his original part of the ear was probably just like that, but it looked a bit odd to me for that reason. I do have questions like; how long does the adhesive hold and can you take a shower or swim with it? Does it ever wear out and stop adhering to the skin?

Yes, Charlie's prosthetic ear was placed differently than the one on the other side, but his jaw was uneven, too. It's part of his condition. (Charlie said his diagnosis was Goldenhar syndrome, but Terry said it was actually something else.)

The adhesive used on medical prosthetics is also used in the movies, so I assume it's really strong. As the specialist said it can cause irritation, so you need to remove it every night to let the skin breathe.

When is Ginger going to get the "safe is the worst place to be" speech? And why did her latex look like satin?  Boo.

When Ginger owned her "middle of the pack-ness" at the top of the show, I knew she was getting the loser edit. And Phi-Phi totally got the shady bitch edit. Ginger clocked her, and TPTB showed Phi-Phi's bitch face—literally.

  3. If I'm reading this correctly, Whitney is now blaming her family + friends for her weight gain: http://m.gulfnews.com/leisure/television/inside-one-girl-s-fat-fabulous-life-1.1893376

    Quote

She’s also adamant in encouraging people to talk about weight with their friends and family. When Thore first gained weight, nobody discussed it, and she says that prevented her from taking action. “That’s interesting and important to think about. Being fat is such a taboo that even though something was physically wrong with me, and I would later be diagnosed with PCOS, nobody wanted to talk about it. I wish someone had talked to me about it and encouraged me to go to the doctor and face it.”

Why don't we just completely ditch plastic grocery bags? I get that they're cheap and convenient and blah-blah-blah, and maybe some people will get all salty about being told no, but who cares? I admit to doing my share of badness with them (two cats, two litter boxes to clean every day—but I am a responsible recycler of everything else), but I am a grownup who will figure out another way, you know?

No need to ban plastic bags—just reuse them: http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2016/09/to-tote-or-note-to-tote/498557/

    Quote

In 2008, the UK Environment Agency (UKEA) published a study of resource expenditures for various bags: paper, plastic, canvas, and recycled-polypropylene tote bags. Surprisingly, the authors found that in typical patterns of use and disposal, consumers seeking to minimize pollution and carbon emissions should use plastic grocery bags and then reuse those bags at least once—as trash-can liners or for other secondary tasks.

Conventional plastic bags made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE, the plastic sacks found at grocery stores) had the smallest per-use environmental impact of all those tested. Even though they don’t easily degrade, they require very few resources to manufacture and transport. They produce less carbon, waste, and byproducts than cotton or paper bags. They’re recyclable. They’re cheap.

Did anybody watch the movie with Eric Roberts called Stalked by My Doctor?

I was kind of surprised to see him in a Lifetime movie but I thought it was pretty good. Eric Roberts plays psycho very well.

There's a sequel: Stalked by My Doctor: The Returnhttp://www.mylifetime.com/movies/stalked-by-my-doctor-the-return

Re: the paternity issue with the twins. I'm not sure what they'd want to do, have them be Simon's (a relief, and they would retain their royal status) or have them be Alastair's (lose their royal status but allows for some interesting plots).

Another possibility (tho I love the idea of two fathers) is that the twins are Alistair's, but older brother Robert (heir to the throne) isn't dead.

Kathryn Edwards and Yolanda Hadid have announced their departures from the reality show. New Housewives are expected to be in the Bravo show, and several reports indicate that British designer Dorit Kemsley has signed on to the cast of season 7. Kemsley is friends with [Lisa] Vanderpump and is married to businessman Paul Kemsley.

In addition to Kemsley, Eden Sassoon has been spotted filming scenes with Lisa Rinna for season 7. Sassoon is the daughter of beauty icon Vidal Sassoon and a well-known socialite, heavy on the charity scene. Following in her family’s footsteps, Eden is the owner of the newly launched EDEN by Eden Sassoon Salon in Los Angeles. Sassoon‘s role is rumored to a ‘friend of a Housewife.’

Whitney Way Thore’s freshman year of college was a disaster. She gained a hundred pounds and almost flunked out. Thore says depression and the symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, or PCOS, were the main causes, but I’m going to suggest it had a lot to do with not taking Adderall or purging anymore. In college she had no Adderall source and became paranoid that throwing up would include tossing her birth control: “I knew I’d rather be fat than pregnant, so I stopped throwing up my food.”

Chapter seven, “Losing 100 Pounds Didn’t Make Me Happy,” didn’t make me happy to be reviewing this book. Thore complains, Thore whines, Thore acts like a martyr at the temple of austerity, yet she loses 100 pounds in a little over 10 months. Two pounds a week is great sustainable weight loss, especially for someone with metabolic issues. But for Thore it was not enough; she tells her trainer, “‘I don’t want to be one of those people who took an entire YEAR to lose 100 pounds!’“ What kind of person did she want to be? Weight loss isn’t a race. It’s about improving one’s quality and—I guess—quantity of life.

  10. My heart grew three sizes reading the New York Times this morning:  http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/09/02/us/photo-of-fsu-football-star-sitting-with-boy-eating-alone-at-florida-school-charms-internet.html

Visiting a local school on a good-will visit with his teammates on Tuesday, [Travis Rudolph, a star football player at Florida State University in Tallahassee], saw a boy sitting alone in the cafeteria at Montford Middle School.

Although Mr. Rudolph, 21, did not know it at the time, [sixth-grader Bo Paske] has autism and often eats lunch by himself. The image of the football star eating pizza while seated opposite Bo has became an example of how a small act of kindness can go big.

    Quote

During its first nine episodes, Season 2 has been averaging 415,000 viewers per week, down since the 613,000 viewers it was averaging in its inaugural season. Those numbers make Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll the lowest-rating scripted series on all of FX.

But given Leary's standing with the network, there's no reason for fans to lose hope just yet. In the immortal words of Journey… don't stop believin'.

Roxxxy wipes downs Coco's mirror message—nice touch that the bitch who sends you home has to clean up your mess.

Adore's fans will understand if she throws a corset on if it means staying in the game. Adore has committed to this trashbag aesthetic as a way to salve her insecurities. She's keeping it cheap so she doesn't have to face her fears about getting fancy. Which is sad!

Since the Snatch Game has traditionally had eight players, I wonder if Adore was ALWAYS supposed to leave the show early.

So much for Phi Phi becoming a sweetheart. She's just learned to be an undercover bitch. Compare her to Tatianna, who really does seem to have grown up.

Frankly, I think the only reason Detox is in the bottom three is because it forces Alaska to consider both of her former clique-mates. Phi Phi's runway look isn't nearly as good, and her Snatch Game wasn't that much better. She should be up for elimination.

Katya pretends to snort coke throughout her performance, which is perfect for the song's references to Studio 54. And Alaska finds the power in stillness, striking crazy poses with her legs in the air and holding them until they're hilarious.

A playwright whose first play earned her glowing reviews, Bree hasn't been able to recreate her early success, which has been largely labeled "beginner's luck" by the critical establishment. Currently in an unhappy relationship with an egomaniacal theater director, she has also watched her latest play crash and burn.

I haven't read any of the books, but I hate Diane Ladd's Irish accent. Since it already comes and goes, can't she just drop it?

On Wednesday, Mr. Mason, who is 55 and now lives in rural Athol, Mass., … had the second of two surgeries to eliminate the excess skin that enveloped his body like a shroud. Fifty pounds of it was removed from his abdomen last year; this time, about 10 pounds’ worth was excised from his arms and hip in a multihour operation in Manhattan.

The surgery was again performed without charge at Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side of Manhattan by a team of seven led by three doctors from three different hospitals.

Money is tight, but he supports himself on a private pension from his earnings as a postal worker years ago, the last steady job he had. While he recovers, he is staying at a Manhattan hotel, his room paid for by an anonymous donor whose mother died of complications from obesity some years ago.
