  1. That's the Highlights From Jeckyll and Hyde CD - I think it's only 8-10 songs. Anthony Warlow sings on the full version from 1994. That version also has Linda Eder and Carolee Carmello - their duet of In His Eyes is terrific and so is the Linda Eder/Anthony Warlow duet of It's a Dangerous Game.
  2. I also admit to a soft spot for Jeckyll and Hyde and it's multiple cast recordings. Can't remember why I bought the first one but it was Colm Wilkinson & Linda Eder. Ok, that's probably why I bought it. But I love This Is The Moment, even though I associate more with Paul Wylie skating to it after winning the silver medal in '92. I saw it on Broadway when Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row) played Jeckyll/Hyde. What can I say, I'm of the hair band generation.
  3. For anyone in the D.C. area, Kiss Me Kate at The Shakespeare Theatre was terrific.
  4. Rinaldo - both high schools in my hometown and my cousin's high school put it on in the early/mid-90s. And my college actually did too now that I think about it. There was also a community production a friend was involved in a few years later. So to me it's overdone - also probably because it's not a show I'm particularly fond of. Fortunately, my school put on their production after I graduated. Bob Mondello from All Things Considered also has a piece on this. http://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2015/07/31/427723071/the-plays-the-thing-high-school-productions-down-the-decades
  5. Article from NPR on the most performed plays and musicals in high schools throughout the decades. I was surprised that South Pacific was only in the top 6 once - to me, it's one of the most overdone musicals. http://www.npr.org/sections/ed/2015/07/30/427138970/the-most-popular-high-school-plays-and-musicals
  6. Re-reading a bunch of older Danielle Steele during my commute. For the romance genre, she really kills off a lot of characters.
  7. Granted, I wouldn't want to buy a complete fixer-upper if my husband were shipping out either, esp. with 5 young kids, but man alive, that woman was working my last nerve last night. Dead obvious she was going to get her way.
  8. From Playbill.com - Other Things you shouldn't try to do in a Broadway theatre. I think the first one is my favorite but that may be because I saw Gentleman's Guide a few weeks ago. http://www.playbill.com/news/article/other-things-you-shouldnt-try-to-do-in-a-broadway-theatre-352722
  9. Wilson Cat, totally jealous of your Broadway blitz. Hope your wrist heals fast.
  10. How can they have a Paris episode without Adrian? And why is it always the person who isn't contributing to the rent that whines and wants the most expensive place?
  11. Has anyone heard when season 3 is going to start airing in the States?
  12. A few belated comments on It Shoulda Been You. I really liked it. They're not breaking any new ground here, but the actors were great and it was a fun show. There was a proposal at the performance I went to (which I'm not really a fan of), and it was really cute watching the actors on stage while it was happening.
  13. Actually Rinaldo, that's probably spot on.
  14. Kind of surprised that most of the cast from It's Only A Play were shut out. I know the reviews weren't great, but I thought the cast (for the most part) did a terrific job. Seeing It Shoulda Been You this weekend.
  15. I really don't know where the show is going at this point. This season just seems to be made up of these storylines that get resolved in 3 episodes and add nothing to the show. I do like Louise - rather would've had her around the last couple seasons than Charlotte - but this show really should've ended with Emily clearing David's name.
  16. Cobalt Stargazer have you read the Phryne Fisher mysteries by Kerry Greenwood? (the tv series is excellent too). Betweenyouandme if you like travel books, I really enjoyed It's Not About the Tapas by Polly Evans (she bikes all over Spain). On the lighter fiction side, my recommendations are Hotel Pastis by Peter Mayle, Sushi for Beginners by Marian Keyes, The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella, and Meet Me at the Cupcake Café by Jenny Colgan. They're a few of my "comfort books."
  17. I didn't mind The Da Vinci Code but I hated The Lost Symbol (I think that was the title).
  18. The Savannah couple - were they the ones that wanted 6 or 7 bathrooms in their Charlotte house? And having an additional one in the basement where there was a bedroom just wasn't good enough?
  19. Just finished Gone Girl - liked it, but thought the language was a bit overly crude (for lack of a better term). Also a Nancy Drew/Trixie Belden fan! I haven't thought of those in years. There was also a mystery series by Cynthia Blair (had to look that up) featuring twins and had titles like The Hot Fudge Sunday Affair (I think the titles were why I started reading them).
  20. Just saw this one - she so did not want to be there. And then there was some strange camera work going on while they were "deliberating" - they were sitting in a window and shot from the street.
  21. Oh yeah, AZ wife bugged. Also amused me that she was whining about HOA-approved colors for the houses. Because from what they showed of her paint choices, she probably would've painted that house bright turquoise. So many couples in the marathon yesterday irritated me. The Arlington, VA couple - is a DINK lifestyle really a thing? And she was another one that wanted to get rid of the toilets/showers/counters because someone else had used them.
  22. And they actually had the budget to fit their needs which was also refreshing.
  23. Last night's Georgia family was so annoying. Mainly the wife with the house can't be older than my youngest child and everything must be new. And having the oldest daughter complaining about closet space was not nearly as cute as they thought it was. I can understand wanting a nice house after so many rentals, especially if it's going to be your forever home. But their attitudes just bugged the heck out of me.
  24. Last night's Hawaii couple just irritated me. They had a $550K budget in an area where the average single family price was $700K (I think) and expected to get a fully finished and "updated" house. Their realtor looked like she wanted to smack them a few times. So I can understand wanting newer appliances and a nice kitchen, especially if the appliances are original to the house. But man alive, does it annoy me when they complain that the bathroom is a "total gut job" because it doesn't have fancy granite and tile.
  25. For belting, there's Always Starting Over from If/Then. Although you might want to change a word or two hear and there. For non-belting, maybe something from Once?
