  1. Here's how I believe Nick REALLY thinks and interprets what Sonia says: Sonia: let's go to bed and do some heavy petting. Nick interprets as: Let's vigorously pet the dogs. On the bed. Sonia: how would you rate our marriage on a scale of 1-10? Nick thinks: t-shirt sales are up since the show started so I'd give it an 8. Sonia: can you open up to me more? Nick thinks: this has nothing to do with t-shirts so, no. Sonia: Do you think I'm attractive? Nick thinks: mom told me it's a good idea to say yes, but no. Sonia: I like you. Nick interprets as: omg-iloveyou-iloveyou-and-i-want-to-make-10-babies-with-you-starting-now!!!! Sonia: you're in the doghouse. Nick interprets as: it's ok with Sonia if I go outside and play with the dogs. So I think if Sonia slowed her roll and learned to communicate more effectively they might have a chance at working things out: Sonia: woof woof, woof woof woof Nick: got it babe! To the MAFS experts, there ya go. Call me anytime you need my expert help.
  2. They need to add some fitting background music to Heather and Derek's THs. Something that reflects the mood. Like some Taylor Swift "We are never ever ever getting back together".
  3. I totally agree with this, but I see the point @booboomonkey is making. Now I'm not thinking too highly of Nick after watching him blow up in the preview, but I did hear the producer mocking him at the end by saying something like, "relationships take work you know". I'm shocked at Nick's outburst but I also got pissed at the producer for continuing to badger him after he just made a total drunk ass of himself. Sheesh wtf was that gonna accomplish? Is Nick gonna suddenly stop his rant and sober up and say, "you're right, let's work on this Sonia." He already gave them some gold footage so there wasn't any need to continue prodding him. Again, I'm not defending Nick in any way, it was just a sickening glimpse into the pressure they put on these people to get reactions out of them. I'm really surprised they didn't edit that out.
  4. Exactly! Who wears a fugly dress like that? Is she trailer trash? Is she hyper-sexual? Or is she just a mean, cold person? Or, holy saggy boobs Batman, maybe she's a really classy chick. That's what I want to know because I have a feeling that would be really something to watch. I don't care for her but at least she's different and seems pretty interesting. Her TH's in the last show really got me interested in who she really is because it doesn't match up to what we've seen. Unfortunately she got matched with a guy who doesn't have a man-clue so we'll never know.
  5. Maybe Heather is just a joyless cold bitch but I think there's a lot about her we didn't see. We got to see her calling it quits but didn't get to see the girl who would buy a wedding dress like that. That's too bad because at first she seemed happy about being married and I think things could've gotten so much more interesting. But as soon as she turned on the bitchiness on the bike ride Derek crumbled into a man-child. Heather's being severely criticized for quitting but my bet is Jamie and Jaclyn would've given up just like Heather did. And, similarly, I don't think we would've gotten to know Jamie and Jaclyn if they were matched with Derek-the-whiney-stoner. Doug and Ryan were both badly rejected at first but managed to turn it around. I hope Derek takes notes on how guys get it done, and it ain't by whining about surfing instructors and smoking doobie. I find it especially disappointing it was Heather who was matched with Derek because I think she'd have been more interesting than most people on this show. Especially if she turned out to be trailer trash! So, yeah, I'm disappointed we didn't get to know who she really is.
  6. Heather's getting hit pretty hard and I wish she had been paired differently. She has come across as being cold and quitting but I'm pretty sure Jamie and Jaclyn would've remained cold and quit if Doug and Ryan had called them names and whined as much as Derek. We got to see who Jamie and Jaclyn are but never got to see who Heather is. Mostly we saw her deflecting Derek's tantrums. I'm surely not a Heather fan but I bet she could've been really interesting on this show. Like, the wedding dress Heather picked was fugly but we never got to see the side of her that would pick a dress like that. Maybe she would've been the wife that paraded around in things they had to blur out a lot. Or maybe she would've been hyper-sexual like Jaclyn. Or maybe she would've been nothing more than a cold bitch. In any case it's too bad she was paired with a man child and we never got to find out.
  7. That clip of Nick and Sonia was so hard to watch. Wow, how did she hold it together? He was so harsh.
  8. These are great points. But if we compare Doug's behavior to Derek's behavior there's a big difference. If Doug had whined and called names to Jamie over ANYTHING she would've bolted and probably the same for Jaclyn with Ryan. Derek complained and whined and needs to take grown-up lessons from Doug (and even Ryan) on how to win a woman.
  9. He never really tried to find out why she shut down though. The thing is, nowhere in the interview does he accept any responsibility whatsoever for the breakdown between them. He didn't make any attempt to talk to her...he just whined about things. I admit, being with a guy like that would just drive me nuts. The bike ride...it seems he didn't try to converse with her like an adult and try to find out what was wrong. There is no evidence he tried that and he doesn't mention trying anything in the interview. He just whines about her not riding with him. When they were in the cave they had a moment where they actually conversed and built a small, fragile connection. And he chose to whine at her because she left the cave without him. He totally obliterated their connection. Yes, he had a right to bring that up but timing and tone is everything and he blew it big time. Not only does he not bring that up in the interview but he doesn't mention doing anything to affect the relationship negatively. Nor does he bring up that maybe, just MAYBE, he overreacted with the surfing instructor. It's like he says negative things at the wrong time in the wrong tone and then gets defensive when he doesn't get a positive reaction. Then he blames the other person for not reacting positively. This guy needs to grow up and accept responsibility for his actions and quit abdicating blame for the problems he causes.
  10. Derek really needs to stop the whiney little bitch routine. He's not doing himself any favors.
  11. Did anyone else notice the huge wall mural of the naked chicks as Derek entered his friend's apartment? How tacky can you get? I'm surprised his friend doesn't have his shirt unbuttoned to show his chest hair and gold chains, lol!
  12. I think Nick is thoroughly enjoying stirring shit up. I wouldn't handle things that way myself but I think he knows exactly what he's doing.
  13. I think Nick loves messing with people on social media. I don't think the dog situation is nearly as bad as they're editing it to be, but the dog vid was OTT ridiculous and obviously meant as a big in-your-face response to the social media trolls who over-react to everything on tv. It was gross but I always like it when people troll the trolls!
  14. Nick's opening line during the confessions: "Diary cam city, we're the mayors." I lol'd. There's a funny side to him we're not being shown. The dinner with his mom and boyfriend probably helped Sonia a lot. In the beginning of the show I thought Nick's mom would be a PITA but she seems like a really nice person. It was great how she helped Sonia realize she's not going crazy and that Nick is generally not one to talk about his feelings to anyone. I agree. Sonia needs to reign in the emotions and listen when he opens up, even if it's not what she wants to hear. I have a feeling the floodgates will open once he trusts her. She's got a guy who's gonna take a bit of patience. Oh, puhleeze...the conversation between Tom and Lily about kids was ridiculous. We may not know if the experts asked about dogs but c'mon, kids? That's pretty basic stuff.
  15. Derek is still trying to convince the cameras that he's trying hard to make things work. He said he sent a long text to Heather and she sent a short reply. Derek's text to Heather: Why won't u talk 2 me? I bet ur still thinking about the surfing instructor. If u quit boozing I might consider quitting weed. Well, not weed but I'm willing 2 put in the effort 2 make things work. Maybe we can try some h8 sex. Call me. Heather's short reply: Fuck off.
  16. Hello, Heather? This is 2010 calling and we want our eyeglasses back. (I don't know what it is about this season that's making me go all fashion police, lol!)
  17. I was thinking about how similar Lily and Heather are. No, really, stay with me here. They're both rather rigid in how they do things. Heather with her unpacking, Lily with her color-sorted closet; Lily with the feet washing, Heather with her neatness. And yet the reaction from their partners couldn't be more different. I wonder if their guys were switched if Lily would come across as bitchy and Heather as having cute habits. Tom is more cooperative with Lily's habits and Derek fights Heather over everything. Like would Derek whine if Lily asked him to wash his feet? It would be interesting to see how the dynamic might change, if at all.
  18. It would be pretty awesome to have Tom and Lily do the MAFS First Year show. I'd sit back with my popcorn and watch for the day Lily takes off those rose colored glasses, haha!
  19. I agree. To me it's ok to say someone's an asshole but to make a psychological diagnosis just doesn't seem right unless I'm a Dr. Phil. I also agree with this. But even moreso I wonder if how Nick is being portrayed is because of editing. We know Heather and Derek are for the drama and Lily and Tom for the feels so Sonia and Nick need to be the borderline couple that keeps us guessing. They have hundreds of hours of footage so they could easily take snippets here and there to make us think he's gay or cold-hearted, or whatever they want to portray to make an interesting show.
  20. I'm blonde with green eyes so I'm not Latina but I can definitely see wearing that dress for a daytime occasion with sandals and with the heels for a dinner out. Since seeing Lily wear it I'd go with the beige shoes like she did. I'm sure she dressed up a bit for the house hunting and the sexy shortness was for Tom.
  21. Yeah, I bet she saw his poker and said, "That's IT?????!! I'm outta here."
  22. I also think if one person leaves and the other still wants to work it out, the one that stays still gets paid. The reason I think that is because of Derek's 'just leave' comment. Somehow I don't think he'd be encouraging her to leave if if meant he'd lose his cut.
  23. This show needs more cowbell fishbowl. If the fishbowl questions were available this season the couples wouldn't be having these problems! /sarcasm
  24. Loved the minidress Lilly wore house hunting. The beige heels were perfect. If she had worn colored heels it would've been ott so the beige was in good taste. If her career as a realtor hits the skids she could easily be a stylist.
  25. What a fail counseling session. Did Derek ever once ask what he can do to help the situation? Nope. He told her to just leave. (Oh, good way to promote communication asshole.). He told her she quit after 2 days. (Of course he played no part in that.) He just kept on and on and I'm glad he was asked to leave the counseling session so there could be an adult conversation. She was actually opening up once Derek was out of the room. I wish she would've gotten her bitch on and told him to STFU. He doesn't Ever Stop! And then he says he's committed to the marriage. He's got all the right lines but his actions are childish. Dude, walk the talk and quit your whining. No wonder Heather feels she's not with a grown man. She should take her mean self and run like hell.
