  1. Maybe a Say Yes to the Dress episode? Kleinfeld's is in NYC.
  2. I watch faithfully for the first 3 seasons. I speed watched season 4 on demand and I hadn't watched any of Season 5. The mid-season premier happened to come on so I started to watch it. But then my 9 year old came in the room so I turned it off. Watching half of an episode reminded me of the following: 1. I used to really like these characters and their interaction with each other. 2. The "secret" has been stupid and far too draining on this show. 3. The suits (clothes in general) are pretty amazing. No matter how they deal with this prosecution regarding the secret it will not be realistic. Just like its completely unrealistic that this would have ever happened in a major law firm or happened this long. SO I say- GOOD. Deal with it however you want. MAKE THE SECRET GO AWAY. I am so over it. Then maybe, just maybe you can have a show about a bunch of lawyers, doing lawyer things and interacting with each other on a personal level as well. And maybe, just maybe I'll start watching again.
  3. I would guess that its a typo and the word intended was Interested. Either way the grammar is terrible.
  4. Chris Jamison has split from Republic Records but released a new single on youtube. http://www.rickey.org/the-voice-star-chris-jamison-splits-with-republic-records-releases-new-song-video/290104/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+rickeyorg+%28Rickey.org%29
  5. From USA Today:http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2015/12/16/voice-winner-plans-next-music-challenge/77405494/ Levine gave Smith, who got a rare four-chair turnaround during blind auditions before the coaches, all the credit for giving Team Adam its third victory in nine Voice seasons. The Team Adam winners “were all so good I couldn’t possibly have screwed it up. … I won because (Jordan is) on my team,” said Levine, saying Smith is a better singer than he is. “It’s fun to be this guy’s coach. Every single time he got on stage and sang, I never had to fake it and pretend to be proud.”
  6. It's a sad thing but I think I've been as happy as I've ever been watching a finale of this show when they called Barrett as third. I relaxed and smiled at Mr. Kcat1971 and said o.k. good. I am fine with a win from the other two but my head would have exploded if that guy won. I really didn't have a favorite this season. I was rooting for Shelby in an underdog sort of way. I still think she has lots of potential-- but really didn't deserve to win yet. Emily Ann did make the most improvement and definitely deserves runner up status and for this experience to help give her opportunities to continue to improve. But I'm happy with a Jordan win and more importantly a Barrett not-win.
  7. Apparently, yes. http://www.allchristiancruises.com/
  8. What is CCR? I am assuming its Contemporary Christian _____? But I've only ever seen CCM (Contemporary Christian Music, I presume) so I'm wondering if I've go it wrong? I can tolerate Blake when he doesn't have a "country army" as he put it one season. I think I could have liked Emily Ann if she wasn't so Bluegrass Country. I can live with an upset from her. In fact, can we trade her to country to get Cassadee Pope back into the Top40/Pop world? But please no Barrett as the winner!
  9. Our person who normally posts the iTunes stuff doesn't seem to be around this morning... so I'll give it a try. As of 11:59 allegedly the top 10 includes: 1. Jordan- Mary Did You Know 2. Emily Ann- Burning House 3. Jordan- Climb Every Mountain 5. Jordan & Adam Duet- God Only Knows 6. Emily Ann & Blake Duet- Islands in the Stream 7. Barrett- Die a Happy Man 9. Jeffery- Stay 10. Jordan- Somebody to Love So they all charted with at least 1 single in the top 10. But Jordan has all 3 songs from last night plus last weeks song in the top 10.
  10. I'll have to look for it on demand or a clip of it later. I really do like Melanie!
  11. Last night he definitely said that he had "never heard of" Mary Did You Know. I believe he also said that about Oceans when Deanna wanted to do it. Going off memory here, but (I think) it was just last Season (8). Adam does not admit to "not knowing" a song very often (unless its country) so it usually sticks out. And yes-- that's what I meant about giving him a pass... Being Jewish, and not particularly religious at that, I don't really expect him to know Contemporary Christian music-- like Oceans, so I was making the same general application to the overtly Christian themed Mary Did You Know? I didn't realize that it might qualify as a standard "Holiday Song" to some. I thought it was basically a "religious song" and I had no idea so many people had covered it!
  12. Well, I'll give Adam Levine a pass for not knowing this Christmas song the same way I gave him a pass for not knowing Oceans for Deanna. Confession time: I hate Christmas music. I steadfastly avoid it on the radio. Hearing it the 3-4 Sundays leading up to Christmas is good enough for me. But I do know Mary Did You Know because its a pretty frequent Christmas Eve "special music" song choice.
  13. It has been cleared for this show for quite a while. Season 1: Casey Weston & Tim Mahoney. And speaking of people I would have liked to have heard more from -- Casey Weston!
  14. Oh.... I think you are right. That is a beautiful song. I probably would have bought that. I didn't care for Blue Christmas at all. I did sort of like her last song. I'm not familiar with country at all so I had never heard it. But I didn't like it enough to buy it.
  15. My bad. I am normally good about fact-checking before I post something. I should have said- I only have heard of one other version of Mary Did You Know. Then I should also have explained that I fall more into the Blake camp of music knowledge (not country just lower than average). I was a bit embarrassed when I went on iTunes to buy Jordan's version to see so many others. But in the putting kids to bed I didn't have time to come back and correct myself.
  16. Age is relative. :) Right after I typed it I thought he probably didn't belong in a "young ones" list- but he's still one of my favorites. I know they said a "holiday song" but no way anyone was going to choose anything but Christmas. I'm kind of curious what Adam's choice for Jordan was before he switched to Mary Did You Know? I think that was a great choice by Jordan. The only other semi-famous version is Pentatonix and that sounds completely different.
  17. Do downloads of all three songs count toward vote totals? I love "Mary Did You Know?" It was beautiful. I did like Emily Ann more tonight than ever but still not enough. I wish her well but I'm just not country. I continue to dislike Barrett with the heat of a thousand suns. He does have cute children. I hope get gets a nice family car out of this along with a 4th place finish. To my mind Jeffery peaked shortly after the lives began. I am fine with him being in the finals and finishing 3rd or even 2nd would be o.k with me. And finally, to me its still Jordan for the win. He has the nicest voice. I think the Contemporary Christian market would be fairly welcoming. He could put out a Christmas album and lots of people would buy it. And I think another season goes by without an instant star, which is o.k. I'm still hoping that the slow simmer will produce something from some of the younger artists that have appeared. (Jacqui Lee, Will Champlin, Amber Carrington, Danielle, Cassadee)
  18. For some reason I was thinking that the season they started using the cumulative totals on itunes was the season they were promoting Christina Grimmie over Kristen Merlin? But there were a lot of hyjinks that season so I could be wrong. I'm just going off of my (somewhat faulty) memory- not looking anything up at this point. I'm just ready for season 9 to be over. If season 10 is anything like 8 & 9, I think I'll be over this show.
  19. I ordered the Target Black Friday $10 special. It turned out to be only the first half of season one so that's a bit disappointing, but for the price I'll keep it. It also claims to have some Target exclusive bonus features on it.
  20. Thanks for that explanation Noreaster. This also helps me understand a bit more about Season 7 when CWB beat Matt McAndrew. I think that was the first season when it became clear that itunes was not as good of an indicator as we previously had thought. I am a lot less invested in this season and who will win. Partially because my favorite has NEVER won. This season I don't really have a favorite, but I have a strong dislike for Barrett. A win by any of the other 3 would be o.k. with me. But given that Jordan does have a itunes lead, he's getting my votes in hopes that Barrett does not win.
  21. So did Cassadee Pope perform on last nights show? I didn't see any mention of it on the show thread yet. (I didnt' get to watch last night). I watched her video for her new single "I am Invincible." It was pretty good. I could stand to listen to it in the rotation on my pop/morning commute radio station.
  22. Soooo.... I couldn't watch the show last night but I could stealthily check Twitter to follow along. I almost groaned out loud when Barrett was revealed as #3. Seriously, I need someone to explain what ANYONE sees in him. I cannot stand him. With both Amy & Shelby in the bottom 3, I won't bother to watch the show on demand. I will probably just watch Jeffery's performance on youtube. Before last night, I would have said I think Jordan will win but that Jeffery might have a chance at a surprise win. Now I think there is no chance for that. If his fan base couldn't get him into the top 3 last night I think there is no chance for him to win over Jordan. If Barrett had not made the finals, I think Emily Ann might have had a chance for the win with 100% of the country & Team Blake vote behind her. I can only hope that Barrett has no chance but his fan base (WHO ARE YOU?!?) is surprisingly strong. I will say this- Barrett in the finals has motivated me to vote for Jordan because if Barrett wins, I might just be done with this show for good.
  23. FWIW- I don't feel sorry for her not getting further. I think that she's done fairly well. And I think that she has gotten farther on the show with Adam than she would have with Blake. What I felt sorry about was that she was the only one without a song in the top 10 this week, when in my opinion her singing was & is better than several of the others (Barrett & Braiden in particular). If we are going to criticize Adam for anything here it might be for NOT pandering- if Shelby had sung Amazing Grace I'm sure she would have been in the Top 10 iTunes instead of Braiden. But from the clip its clear that the song was Shelby's choice. And- I agree with the assessment that Adam doesn't like country music. That definitely makes him an odd choice for an artist that wants to stay country and sing lots of country on the show- but I don't have the impression that is what Shelby wanted.
  24. I think there are some legitimate strategic decisions for Shelby choosing Adam over Blake. As many have pointed out on this board- Country music doesn't have a lot of female superstars and Blake is already promoting quite a few newbies: Cassadee, Rae-Lynn, Danielle. Shelby apparently suffers from a confidence issue- Adam's pitch about being lost among Blake's other country artists really could have rang true to her. Finally, all the judges, Blake included have been known to lay it on thick during the blind auditions. There was/is no guarantee that any coach will work with a contestant after the show. I don't think that choosing the path that you believe will keep you on the show the longest is necessarily the wrong one, especially if she had/has any desire to try a genre other than country. I know a lot has been said about Jordan & the Contemporary Christian Music genre. I think that might be a good choice for Shelby as well. Lower bar to get in, much more accepting of new faces and less focus on appearance/marketability. Just my opinion. Every choice leads to consequences, and frequently you never know what the results of the other choice would have been. If she fades into obscurity after the voice she may very well regret not choosing Blake but she'll never really know if that would have worked out better for her.
  25. This makes me want to go buy Shelby's song. It won't matter because if everyone is in the top 10- doubling the votes won't make a difference. But the more I think about it. Shelby just doesn't have a fan base. She's mostly country but not on Blake's team. She's in a season where everyone is young, so being Only17! isn't a big deal. I really like her voice and I like that she's grown a lot on this show. I don't think she'll make the finals, but I'd be really happy if she did. I hope the voice was a good experience for her and that she continues growing and improving. She may be one of the "Voice kids" who doesn't become a superstar by winning (ha! like anyone has) but someday will be a star and it will be a trivia question: What reality TV show did Shelby Brown appear on in her teens? ETA: Oh and- I'm fine with the top 4 being the finalists. I'd also be fine with Madi instead of Amy. I don't really love either of them. I have a slight personal preference for Amy but I generally like the idea of each coach having 1 contestant in the finals. I don't want that to be the rule because sometimes one coach really does have multiples that should be in the finals- but this season its evenly matched so I'd be happy to see each of them with a "horse in the race."
