Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Michael looks exactly like Josh did as a little boy. I always thought he favored the Duggar side anyway, but Anna posted pictures of Josh at Michael's age. The resemblance is incredibly strong. -
Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I think Jinger and Jennifer look like Josh, but I can't figure out which parent he got his looks from. He looked a lot like JimBob as a kid, but now I don't see a lot of either parent in him. -
Every time I hear this, I wonder if they're watching the same show I am. The kids are hellions who are rude and dismissive towards anyone even slightly different than themselves.

Even if Jill wasn't lying about the beach incident, she was made to lie when asked directly which Duggar girls had been involved in a courtship. When Jordyn screamed "and Jill!" she was ignored, and Jill said "Oh, Jessa has, ask her." Lies of omission are still lies and I think it's fucked-up that a family that claims to follow the Bible would tell their child to lie because they need better show ratings. Their priorities are so screwed-up to me. And they're living in "the kitten house," so Jill is not at all free of JimBob, which likely means his influence as well. Derick is probably super-stressed right now; I can't imagine having your seven-year-old sister in law spending the night when you just got married two weeks ago even WITHOUT everything else going on in his life. As badly as I feel for Jennifer and Jill, I kind of feel worse for the guy. I'm sure he thinks Jill is worth it, but if my spouse's sister had tried to crash with me while dealing with a parent's cancer diagnosis and a new romantic relationship, I would not have been pleased.

19 Things I Hate About You: How the Duggars Infuriate

This totally nails why Duggar Time infuriates me so much. If the Duggars really want to get places on time, they can; we've seen them do it over and over. But only when it's things and people they can't push around. The airports won't hold planes for "Duggar Time," and they get there on time. But their friends and family, or small speaking engagements where everyone is in awe of them? They just can't be bothered. It does indeed show a lack of character. -
A friend of mine says that JimBob looks like Howdy Doody fucked one of the lesser Kennedys. After I stopped laughing til I cried, I had to concede that that was the perfect description.

JimBob makes me uneasy. I feel like that aw-shucks-good-ole-boy facade is just that. I remember him talking about the rage issues he used to have as a young father, and I've never gotten the feeling he's really overcome them. Sure, he takes it out in "funny" ways like shoving Josiah during paintball, but I wouldn't leave my own kid alone with him or Michelle.

It's funny/alarming to look back and realize that when Jinger was Jackson's age, she was already taking care of a large portion of the household. Meanwhile, Jackson is barely expected to tie his own shoes. Hell, compare Jinger in the first special to Jackson as he is now in general - there's been a steady pattern of dumbening (if I may borrow that "word" from Lisa Simpson) in this family.

The difference is, you're aware of your son's issues even if you don't know what exactly they are yet. Josie's well-being is left up to the whims of Jesus. The kid had no sort of intervention, and never will. -
JimBob said that if it were one of the boys who needed stitches for a cosmetic issue like Hannie did they would just leave it but for a "pretty girl like her" they had to.
