  1. I haven't been on the Piper hate train. I'm more just "meh" about her. But damn, that last scene was terrifying. I had to turn the volume down and watch it with my hand halfway over my face. Yikes.
  2. That was was just - ew. It was very clunky acting and just unnecessary to look at two characters that I don't care about having awkward icky sex. Not as bad as the art gallery flash, but a close second. I heard Amazon canceled it but they're shopping the show elsewhere. I would watch a season 2 if it can find a home.
  3. I am seriously considering attending this as well. Hoping to get with a group to bus there from WI. There are people trying to organize it on Facebook. Here is the national page, and then there is a page for each state for more specific organizing.
  4. Yep. This is my biggest WTF takeaway from these results.
  5. Ha, yeah, we got a taste of it with really high turnout in April. My plans for Wednesday involve nothing but the TV and cat. :)
  6. That new catcher is not going to work well with Ginny...
  7. I'm still in, but thought this episode was pretty meh, especially the Blip subplot. I like the actor but he has no chemistry with his wife. Maybe she should really go for Mike Trout. :-P
  8. Yeah, this drives me crazy too. Sometimes they do actually crash, so I'm always bracing myself during those scenes.
  9. Friday Night Lights never got great ratings. Hopefully they give this one a chance as reviews and word of mouth have been overall positive.
  10. From a power aspect, yes, and that matters a lot. But I could see a woman succeeding as a slap-hitting, Ichiro type hitter. There's plenty of skills, like contact and pitch recognition, where physical strength isn't a factor.
  11. That was me, and yeah, that's possible, but it's not unusual for the team's more highly touted prospects to get an invite to big league spring training, even for just the first few weeks being sent to minor league camp. And if she was on the 40-man roster (which after five years that's probable), she would've had to be in big league camp for at least part of the time. Gotta keep reminding myself it's just TV! :)
  12. And Mo'ne Davis has chosen basketball as her primary sport and aspires to be in the WNBA, which underlines the point made in your first paragraph.
  13. I hope they do address it more, so much depth potential.
  14. Sort of. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball_transactions#Waivers
  15. Yeah, some more backstory would've been nice. She's been in their minor league system for five years! And if she was so advanced to be getting a big league callup mid-season, surely she would've been in big league spring training that season, and already met and worked with Mike Lawson. Details like that will be bug me. LOL.
  16. Yeah, I think that might have been more realistic from a normal baseball standpoint, but OTOH, with the marketing opportunity of first female MLB player, you almost have to make sure she plays in the game, and the best way to do that is to have her as the scheduled starter.
  17. Yeah that was an uncomfortable scene to watch, but maybe that was the point. I'm not sure how the show is going to address that or if they even will. AFAIK the Padres are wearing those patches all season.
  18. Damn, I was not expecting the dad twist. Kylie Bunbury was amazing. Looks like some great supporting casting choices so far as well. Already can't wait for next week...
  19. OMG. I'm such a baseball nerd and this made me squee.
  20. I'm surprised the pre-jury boots even got to sit on stage.
  21. Big Meech must be steaming mad right now. She was so upset in the jury segment when her anti-Nicole campaign didn't go anywhere with the other jurors. I love that a woman finally beat a man, but yeah, not sure I agree that she played the better game. She's not an awful winner though. So yay for history and meh overall, BB18.
  22. Good question! I think a lot of it has to do with opportunity. Girls are steered toward softball growing up, not baseball. What if more girls learned to play baseball and were given the opportunity to fine tune their game like boys are? It starts at that level.
  23. Woooooo! As a baseball loving gal who daydreamed about playing Major League Baseball as a kid, I'm insanely excited that this show is happening.
