  1. I had a really difficult time getting into the tattoos this week. I'm just not a fan of challenges that are specific to unusual styles or subject matter. I realize that after so many seasons the show is trying to get creative and show new things, but honestly I would rather see the artists compete with the tried and true styles (american traditional, japanese, new school, portraits, etc) than to pull weird stuff out of a hat. Biggest takeaway from the episode: THANK YOU for sending home the worst tattoo OF THE DAY. One thing that has always driven me crazy throughout Ink Master history is when an artist is safe from elimination because of their report card up to that point. I love it when the judges strictly enforce the definition of sending home the worst tattoo, rather than the worst artist(s). I just hope they do that consistently throughout the season (especially when a certain someone, who is notorious for having judge-favoritism armor, comes back). Assorted thoughts: Last week I predicted the all girl team to be eliminated this week. Oops. Black anchor took the hike I was hoping they would. I don't care how famous you are outside of the competition, don't act superior unless you're winning. Hell, even god-complex St Marq actually won a few challenges while talking all that hot air. If you're gonna talk, fine, but back it up with great tattoos. They didn't. Cya WHOA when did Made Rich get so annoying and energetic???? I remember him being relatively quiet and friendly his first time around. The dude was literally rapping to the competitiors at one point...is it just the cockiness of being a veteran? I still really want to see tattoo flash challenges. Especially given that all the elimination tattoos are team efforts. 3 weeks in and we haven't even seen a total of 30 tattoos. What happened to the days of Coney Island and show sponsor flash challenges? Not really sure who would be considered the favorite at this point. Leads me to believe even more strongly that a team yet to be added will take it.
  2. Spike announced the complete returning artist lineup today on social media (maybe everyone already knew this info and I'm just behind) and there are definitely some heavy hitters coming back. No idea why a certain someone is getting ANOTHER chance but hey what do I know.
  3. The ONLY saving grace to this season will be if they bring back a couple of decent artists. Absolutely no doubt in my mind that a returning artist's shop is going to win. They already did newbies vs vets (all stars, in fact) and they had a newbie win it. This time around it will definitely be a veteran, I just hope they pick a good one. Fingers crossed for Halo! In my opinion one of the most underrated artists in the history of the show. Episode thoughts: CUDDLING??? Are you kidding me? We have married couples cuddling during the challenges now? If a team has the ability to take a breather from a challenge to cuddle and whisper sweet nothings, then the challenge isn't intense enough, period. As mentioned, half of the teams are straight garbage. The two eliminated teams (I don't know their names, because it's nearly impossible to learn them) and Tri Cities (I only know their name because of how pathetic they are) had no business being in this competition. I get that the show needs a few terrible teams off the bat because they want it to be a fairly even mix of vets and newbies by the time teams stopped being replaced, but damn, you don't have to make it so obvious by putting complete amatuers in the competition. All girl team will be gone soon. Bubba's partner is definitely Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. I'm 99% sure of it. The artists forming their own jury is by quite possibly the worst idea in a show that is going on 4 straight seasons of bad ideas and concepts. I'm glad that we got to see just how terrible the idea is right off the bat. Teams are going to vote based on personal BS and drama, not on quality. I'd be shocked if the jury provides a single worthwhile moment all season. Black anchor can take a hike imo. Maybe it's just the edit, but it's only episode 2 and i'm over their too-cool-for-school attitude. We get it, you're apparently really good (even though they've been beaten by team cuddles 2 straight weeks now). Can't stand their "stare blankly at the camera and talk in a monotone voice about how you're well-known in the industry" song and dance. Maybe win something, ANYTHING, before you look into the camera and talk about how great you are. Just a thought. Hope they do a more typical ink master challenge soon. I'm dying to see how badly Tri Cities would jack up a japanese/pin-up/portrait tattoo before they go. Please make this happen ink master.
  4. Absolutely nailed it here. I (and likely most of us) watch the show to see tattooing. Every once in a while the flash challenges are relevant, but unfortunately that is the case far too infrequently. This is a tattoo show, do tattoo flash challenges. There are flash challenges on top chef and guess what? They cook! Imagine that, a cooking show doing cooking challenges. What a concept. Apparently the boys over at spike haven't gotten the memo. Slightly disagree with you here. The skull assignments have only become stupid because has allowed them to. Back in the golden days of ink master (S2-S4 imo) the worst thing you'd see among the human cavases was a rib tattoo (I remember how the artists used to freak out, "OMG WHO'S GONNA GET THE RIB TATTOO!?!?!"). But these days it's become "I want a giraffe playing volleyball on my butt and I'm not open to changing my mind". It's ridiculous. Back when the show put on reasonable canvases the skull pick was rarely ever a point of drama--now it's a weekly occurrence. No thanks
  5. Bringing back new teams? No no no no no please god no. Infuriating setup. Tag team tattoos? Another atrocious idea. You heard it from multiple artists during the episode: tattoos inherently aren't meant to be a team effort. Not surprising at all that the overall quality of the tattoos was lackluster. Also, for someone who comes back to Ink Master time and time again to admire the artwork, I HATE team tattoo challenges because it cuts down on the amount of art we, the viewers, ultimately get to see. Hate it. Also, does this cast feel incredibly young to anybody else? Except for the guys from black anchor it doesn't sound like anybody is especially well known in the business. Seems like theres a lot of artists with only 5-8 years experience. Sidenote: Went back and rewatched season 3 recently and my god what a season. Joey, Jime, Tatu Baby, Josh, Jason, Kyle, Craig, and hell even Jackie. Absolutely stacked season. Whatever season 10 is I hope it's a bare bones battle royale like the early seasons. Probably not. Oh well, a man can dream.
  6. I've been seeing this for weeks. Call me optimistic, but I really don't think that it's a huge cause for concern in the grand scheme of things. As the article mentioned, while TWD viewership is down, so are the numbers from other popular network TV shows. Not only that, but despite the drop, TWD is still enjoying its 5th consecutive year in 1st place. Is there some truth to the fact that TWD might be experiencing a decline as a result of its age and current storytelling? Absolutely. But even despite those truths, TWD is still the king of the hill for the time being. The show is struggling compared to its own standard of success, but in general it's still incredibly popular. Personally, I think the ratings will pick back up in the 2nd half of season 7 and into season 8 as the All Out War arc comes into fruition. In the comics, All Out War is 12 chapters (an average TV season is what, 15-20 chapters?) of largely non-stop action/fighting/chaos. That basically means we have a full season of an uptick in action on the horizon. No more bottle episodes, no more character/setting introductions, no more plot setup, etc etc. People love action most of all, and I expect the ratings to reflect that.
  7. Eric went home. Damn. Shows how good my prediction skills are. With Eric gone, Gian and Kelly are the only two who can give Ryan a run for the money. When it comes to a master canvas, I think only Kelly can pull out a design that would actually beat Ryan. Wont happen. The editing is obvious. The Ryan wave is getting bigger and bigger and will soon be unstoppable. I'd put it at 99% she wins it all.
  8. For anyone who has seen a lot of the classics and is interested in one of the newer horror movies: I recommend Insidious and Sinister out of the lot. Most of the new horror films in the past few years are retreads/garbage, but these two are amusing comparatively speaking (stay away from their god awful sequels). They aren't as good as the ones listed here, but they're acceptable.
  9. I wonder who the new ghosts are going to be? Obviously they can't use Kathy Bates, Lady Gaga or Wes Bentley. Finn Wittrock, anybody? As someone else said "cautiously optimistic" is exactly how I feel about this second half. It seems appealing, but I hope there is more to it than just Scream meets And Then There Were None meets Final Destination. I'm fine with a bloodbath leading to a lone survivor. But I don't want the focus to be "omg who will be the next to go". I'd like to see the story keep a focus on the Roanoke ghosts.
  10. This team concept might be the most poorly executed idea in the history of competitive reality TV shows. It makes no sense. Not once (outside of the first challenge with the cohesive back pieces) have they done anything as a team. They've spent the whole season competing against their teammates and almost no time working with them. When the judges make references such as "I hope my team does well" or "I want all of his team to go home first" it doesn't strike a chord at all. It seems as though it's now just every artist for themselves like a normal season, so how does it matter which "team" you used to belong to? The whole thing is just odd. Agree with everyone else. The tattoos this week were generally good. No idea what Mike's deal was. Have we ever seen someone who was assumed to be so strong just suddenly flame out like that? I can't think of anyone in the previous 7 season's who has done so. Nate Beavers also really annoys me. He's done 90% mediocre tattoos since he's been there and always has some lame excuse. He's the token "I have 25 years of experience therefore I am good" contestant this season. Sad to see that after a couple of decent weeks, it's back to the BS drama. The Nikki-Boneface war is easily the most annoying feud in the history of the show. Their bickering makes me miss St Marq and Magic Mike, at least I found their antics to be somewhat amusing. Ryan, in addition to putting out great tattoos, is getting an incredible edit. I've been saying it since week 1 that she is a lock to go to the finals. As we saw with Anthony last year, the show seems to give preferential treatment/editing/representation to certain artists. Her tattoos alone are enough to consider her a threat to win it all. But when you factor in her social media presence, her screen time, and the fact that every ink master promotion has her in it, it seems almost impossible that she won't be standing on that stage at the end. Eric is also a clear frontrunner. No bad tattoos and consistent quality work. He was the #1 overall pick in the draft (Nunez even said "He's my pick to win it all") and seems to be incredibly respected by the other artists. It's interesting that he hasn't won a tattoo of the day yet. If my memory serves correctly, last night was the 3rd time that he was "runner up" on the day. Ryan and Eric will take 1st and 2nd in this competition (not sure about order, likely Ryan 1st) book it. Gian and Kelly will compete for 3rd/4th. Sketchy took a hit this week and showed real weakness for the 1st time. What a douchebag.
  11. You've hit the nail on the head. The surefire sign of a potential ink master is that they are almost NEVER in the bottom. The two exceptions are Jason (biggest upset in Ink Master History) and Kruseman (weird season, watered down field imo). Also, if I remember correctly, Anthony was nominated for the bottom by the human canvas jury and the judges completely disagreed with his selection, and when Scott went to the bottom it was for a tattoo that was mediocre but he was never actually in any risk of going home. Essentially, of the 7 champions, 4 never even came close to being eliminated. This is important when evaluating artists who win a lot, but also find themselves in the bottom on occasion (see: Josh, Craig, Tatu Baby). While these artists usually go far, they rarely go on to win. The other giveaway of a potential ink master is that they usually win early and often. Scott, Shane, Anthony, Steve, and Joey won all the time, and didn't waste any time in solidifying themselves at the top. Going off this history, you currently have to love Gian and Kelly's chances (each has 2 wins and 0 bottom appearances). Ryan and Nikki each have 1 win and 1 bottom so far, although I'd give the edge to Ryan as her bottom appearance was in the first challenge. Sketchy and Eric seem to be in a good place. Neither has won any challenges, but I suspect this is due more to the format of the season than anything. There's been very limited opportunities. Kevin, Boneface, Beavers, and Mike have virtually no shot at this point. This far into the season and you have 0 wins AND appearances in the bottom? Game over.
  12. Ahhhhhhhh--the classic "report card" elimination. Worst tattoo of the day goes home! Unless, err, someone who's really good totally shits the bed, and then.....second worst tattoo goes home? Never liked report card eliminations. Gia's, Nate's, and Boneface's tattoos were all bleh and had different flaws. Anyone with eyes could see that Mike's tattoo was atrocious. It reminded me of an old barbie doll that has been twisted around and had its arms pulled off and stuck back on one too many times. That thing was hard to look at, and even though I'm generally a fan of his, it's hard to justify keeping him around after that. Super excited that the internal team warfare BS is over with and that I'll actually get to see 10 tattoos next week. Since there are still "teams" I'm guessing that we are going to see a lot of head to head showdowns between members of opposing teams from where on out. Nikki needs to stop talking during critiques. In lieu of tonight's events, I still like Eric, Sketchy, Kelly, Ryan, Gian and Mike as the final 6, however I think it's time to boost Gian up in the power rankings. Kevin, Boneface, or Beavers next week. Anybody's guess.
  13. For me, gore is an essential part of the AHS formula. Be honest, if someone had shown you one of the first couple episodes without any information, would you have been able to guess that you were even watching AHS? Maybe not. But there's no doubt what series episode 4 belongs to.
  14. I thought it was common knowledge that Nikki unintentionally gave Kelly a harder canvas? She wasn't being shady, she just knew nothing about the style and didn't know how to judge the canvases accordingly. Personally I'm starting to think that Nikki is in the alliance less because she's a strategist and more because she's kind of an air head who just goes with the flow. She didn't represent her mental fortitude well this week lol.
  15. American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare, or as I like to call it "Murder House: Country Style". I mean seriously, move the mansion from Los Angeles to Carolina and change the evil doctor to the Roanoke Colony--it's all the same tricks. Evil house, residents die and then become part of the evil gang themselves, delusional couple that insists on staying despite everything going on around them. I actually really enjoy the Roanoke backstory. The most amazing thing that AHS does imo is create rich and interesting backstories that support the story arcs. I'm wondering where the season is going to go from here. We've actually had quite a bit of the backstory revealed at this point considering it's only episode 4. In previous seasons we've been kept in the dark far more. I'm guessing that the progression of the story will have a lot to do with the introduction of some of our favorites (please Evan Peters just show up already). Also, this episode had very American Gods heavy vibes, if any of you are familiar with that work.
  16. Forget about her hands, her FOREARMS are completely ruined. Especially her right forearm which is just solid black (which has faded into that grayish/green that tattoos get over time). Elbow to wrist is just solid color with nothing else going on. Because of my beliefs, I don't particularly care for visible tattoos, but at the very least a tatted up person either has multiple different images on their arm or part of a larger sleeve design. Solid black? It looks like necrosis. Random note, I'm pretty sure that Dave got the symbol on his lower neck/upper chest touched up before this season. He's had it for years now and it looks solid black.
  17. Tito gone. About time. Thought the flash challenge tattoos were generally cool but didn't find any of the elimination challenge tattoos particularly interesting. Eric's tattoo had the best overall look imo, Kelly's little man standing atop the colosseum was bizarre but technically well done and definitely new school--not mad that it won. Thank god there was almost no mention of the gender war this week, maybe miracles do exist. This format is getting stale very quickly. I didn't realize how much I would miss the days of 12+ tattoos being judged. My favorite part of the show is the tattoos, and this format limits the number of tattoos I get to see per week. Team Peck up next week and that means we can play our favorite game of Boneface/Gia/Beavers. Step right up and spin the wheel! Think you know which one will be eliminated? Spoiler: it doesn't matter because they'll all be gone soon anyways! Woohoo! Ryan, Gian, Mike, Eric, Sketchy and Kelly obvious final 6. Nothing until that point really matters as far as the competition goes. I still like Ryan, Sketchy and Eric as my final 3 with Gian/Kelly barely missing out.
  18. Weird flash challenge concept but incredible execution. This is why I occasionally like the non-tattoo related flash challenges, because so many of these people are genuinely incredible artists beyond just doing tattoos. Personal theory: the reason we're seeing so many non-tattoo flash challenges this season (and in recent seasons) is due to the divide in talent among the top and bottom artists on the show. If the flash challenges were tattoos, that would increase the probability that one of the best tattooers would win, get the skull pick, get a good canvas, and then do a great tattoo. By avoiding tattoo flash challenges, it increases the chances that a "bad" tattooer wins which adds some variability and makes it harder for the good tattooers who would otherwise dominate. Think back to season 3 when Halo, Matti, Scott, and Sausage won every single challenge (flash and elimination), the dominance was so complete that it's honestly hard to remember anybody else from that season. The bickering is old. The women on this season seem to be especially loud, but some of the men are unreasonably butt-hurt about it as well. An important side note: I once watched a periscope with Jason Clay Dunn (he holds one after every new episode) where he said that an average tattoo-critique/elimination takes about 10 hours on site to film. Keep in mind when you watch these stupid 2 minute "confrontations" that those 2 minutes are being pulled from around 10 hours of material. There's so much going on (or not going on) that we don't see. The people producing and editing these shows are professionals and it's totally possible that the drama is largely fabricated or exaggerated. Hell, my family gets along incredibly well. But if you filmed us for 10 hours a day and then pieced together the worst 2 minutes you could probably make us seem pretty nasty too. IMO all of the space tattoos were pretty bad. The top two were a very average astronaut portrait and a solid space scene that was overall nice but had terrible rings around one of the planets. Still waiting for more stylistic challenges instead of being assigned a common subject. Matt went home--who cares. Was bound to happen eventually. Tito or Kevin up next week
  19. I don't think that anyone has a problem with the female alliance. The problem is that the entire storyline has been overplayed and it's only the 5th episode. The women are sticking together to help one another out in a traditionally male dominated industry (and show). Great, no problems there. However my problem is that we never get a break from it. The episode preview advertised it as a "battle of the sexes" (isn't this season a battle of the teams?), there was talk of the alliance during the flash challenge, during the skull picks, and the girls have also been shown speaking out the past 2 eliminations. Yes people have spoken out in previous seasons, but never with the same degrading and condescending tone that Ryan used last night. Go back and find any previous judging interruption you want, I guarantee you her's was more blatantly harsh. Maybe the reason the show has been edited to emphasize this theme is because the team idea has been such a failure. These artists were placed on teams and then have done nothing but compete against their own team the entire time. In fact, assuming it's narrowed down to a final 4 which will then face off for the final 3 spots, about half of the overall challenges will be a team competing against itself--doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of being a team? If they want to talk about the female alliance the whole time, fine, but just do a battle of the sexes season. Edit the episodes differently so I'm not stuck listening to boys vs girls for the next 12 weeks.
  20. Worst flash challenge concept of all time. "let's use car batteries to fry designs onto a canvas". How can you give someone a legitimate critique after failing with that medium? Doesn't make any sense and has little to do with artistic ability. I remember a previous contestant once saying that they thought watercolor tattoos were the ugliest tattoos of them all, and it's not super hard to disagree with that assessment. I thought that Nikki and Kelly had nice tattoos. Sketchy and Eric's weren't incredible but were more or less aesthetically pleasing. Kevin's was weird but I oddly found myself liking it. But wow- Sirvone and Tito produced some putrid tattoos. Not super mad that Sirvone was sent home because Tito is likely next. As a matter of fact, can we just skip ahead to Team Nunez being Nikki, Kelly, Eric, and Sketchy? I know they are only narrowing it down to 5 before changing things up but its pretty obvious that those 4 are the only ones on the team that will last long term. Still hate the female alliance edit that the show is for some reason force-feeding the audience. They even mentioned "battle of the sexes" in the preview for this episode. Which would be totally fine if, oh I don't know, this season was actually a battle of the sexes. Gia and Ryan speaking out during judging the past 2 weeks has rubbed me the wrong way. Even the cockiest, most arrogant Dbags (of which there have been many) kept their mouths shut during someone else's critique. Who knows whether others are similarly speaking up or not in a similar fashion, but the edit of the show certainly wants you to think that the girls are the only ones doing it. The thing is, I'm all for a girls alliance. There have been numerous "bro" alliances (Joey and Jime, Scott and Matty, etc) that no one ever complained about. It's just a shame that it's being portrayed through such a sinister and immature angle. I'm a grown man, I don't care about this elementary school playground boy vs girl crap. Looking forward more to Team Peck next week. I personally believe the competition for the final 5 is tougher to predict on his side. I think Ryan, Mike, and Gian are the best, and it's sort of a toss up between Nate, Boneface, Gia, and Matt, for the other 2 spots. We'll see
  21. Glad Dave is gone. Reminded me of a poor man's St Marc for stirring the pot for no reason. At least St Marc had a skill he was really good at. Hopefully now that Dave is gone there won't be so many female-alliance discussions. The females this season kick ass, anyone of them (except for Nikki, IMO) could end up in the finale. Why do we need to pump in the unnecessary storylines? Let's keep the focus on the tattoos and the competition. Hoping we get to see more "normal" challenges soon. After seeing peacocks, medusas, armor, and continuous back pieces, I am very ready for a "portrait" or "new school" challenge. I'm guessing that they are saving the more traditional challenges for when it becomes a free-for-all among the final 10. My way too early final 3 prediction will be: Ryan, Sketchy, and Eric. With Kelly, Gian Karle, and Mike coming close but falling short.
  22. Hello all, first time posting about this season. 3 episodes in, I'm not sure what to make of the format. The whole idea of teams doesn't seem to translate very well in my opinion. Each team starts as a group of 8, but for the first 6 challenges it will be a free for all among a specific team that week until it is narrowed down to 5v5......uh, and then what? Are there going to be an overload of head to head challenges at that point? Will there be more large scale tattoos in which the whole team participates? The problem with teams in ink master is that the eliminated artist is eliminated based on how their work stacks up compared to the other tattoos that day, but it's unclear how that will be done later in the season as the numbers dwindle. Will a losing team be forced to match up against themselves again, or will there be head to head showdowns between artists on opposing teams with the loser going up for elimination? Unclear. Some of the early dynamics playing out this season aren't the most appealing to me. Yes Dave seems to be a bit of an ass, but with that said I'm also not a fan of the "girl power" agenda that the producers are clearly pushing this season. There have been seasons in the past in which there were multiple talented female artists, but those artists never really banded together. And yet here we are at week 3 and all of the girls have decided that they're in it together? Not buying it, it doesn't feel organic and seems like it was set from the start. It's really a shame because these 4 appear to be among the most talented females to ever compete on the show, it would be nice to see them dominate based on merit alone without the female alliance storyline looming over their heads. Didn't like the tattoos this week (peacocks? ok I guess) and I don't like how the tattoo challenges have been so specific thus far. I'm hoping that as the competition picks up some steam that this will change. I will however say that I'm very pleased with the overall talent level this season. Of course there are still 2-3 meat shields on each team that need to be weeded out. But after that I think it will be an incredibly competitive final 8-10 artists. Will this be the year that a female takes it? Ryan certainly seems to be getting a lot of screen time and internet buzz (which definitely benefited Anthony last season) and was a number 1 pick. She has to be the female (and one of the overall) odds on favorites at this point.
  23. I saw in an interview on youtube (just type in Oliver Peck interview on youtube, it's like 45 minutes long) in which he says that he developed the habit as a kid because of a speech impediment. If he had a toothpick in, people thought that he was talking funny due to the toothpick, and it masked the fact that he actually had an impediment. I guess the habit just stayed with him
  24. Why why why why WHY must everyone always tattoo female figures. Nothing against it, but I'd certainly like to see something else just for the sake of variety. Cleen and Anthony faced off with female figures last week, and in the finale, 2 of the 3 chest tattoos featured females and all 3 sleeves did (Christian's a little more indirectly). The format of the finale in terms of voting was totally whack. I wonder if Christian knew while watching the season air that he was going to be screwed when it came to America's vote. I'm not sure if it was a lot of editing or if he really is just that unlikable in real life. America's vote was a popularity contest that had nothing to do with the tattoos, and the Artist Jury had nothing to do with the tattoos either, it seemed like the veterans were making sure that Cleen got the nod no matter what. The reason that mad me so mad was that, as much as I dislike him, Christian easily deserved to be in the final 2 at least. Looking at the chest pieces, I have absolutely no idea how anyone could argue that Christian didn't have the best tattoo. It was clean, had nice color, and it fit the canvas perfectly. My father (who HATES tattoos) was watching the final with me and even commented that he thought it looked slick and fit nice. Anthony's chest piece was a mess in my opinion. That dude's chest is just a big swirly dragon body with a head that doesn't stand out or look especially badass. And for God's sake the thing wasn't finished. I know most people on here are Anthony lovers (myself included), but his chest piece left a lot to be desired. Cleen's chest tattoo was also bizarre to me. I think a lot of that has to do with the style (thin line black and grey? that doesn't even sound like it will look good). The elements were all done well individually, but it wasn't super cohesive, wasn't very large, and didn't fit the body as well as Christian's. Christian was the obvious winner of that round. The sleeves were a little closer. Christian's sleeve was beautiful, told a story, and was truly unique. I've never seen anything like it in 7 seasons of Ink Master. The color wasn't as saturated as it should have been, but that's about the only knock. Anthony's sleeve was very cool. But I must say that he just kind of stacked the various elements on top of one another. And as Dave commented, it wasn't a full sleeve (the challenge specifically said sleeve, not "arm tattoo"). Cleen's sleeve was okay. The female gypsy face was jacked and I don't care for his personal "style". Also, did anybody notice that the design he did on the inside of her sleeve is almost identical to the colorful tentacle design cleen has on his shoulder areas? Basically did the same thing. All in all. I thought that in terms of tattoos it should have been 1) Christian 2) Anthony 3) Cleen. But because of the lame voting system, Anthony was basically handed the title the second Christian was eliminated. I truly believe Anthony would have lost that match up head to head (unfinished chest tat, non full sleeve).
  25. I think it depends a lot on the context. The confederate flag alone is obviously just a symbol of the confederacy, which can stand for many ideas and beliefs. However when you pair it with something else, like a little grim reaper in Cleen's canvas's case, it's pretty obvious what the intention of the confederate flag becomes.
