  1. Re: KKL taking a break from the show, she was just on Australian morning television about ten minutes ago and they asked her how TPTB were going to explain Brooke's absence; KKL said that Eric asks her to help out with the Milan office because it's in a bit of a shambles (paraphrasing), and that she'll be back in Bell A before you can say "person from the Valley" (well okay, she didn't say that last bit). Some fansites are saying she reveals a HUGE TWIST in the interview, but it's nothing we hadn't already figured anyway.
  2. Gotta lotta love for Pam & Charlie, they're so enthusiastic about everything. I liked the little photos behind Charlie's desk of him and Pam at the Medieval fair, and the plates of lemon bars and brownies by his computer, so well done to the set dressers. And I love how everyone around them dismisses them because they're a little left of centre, it's cute when they triumph. Not sure why Pam & Charlie would be interested in seeing Hope & Liam together, though, unless they're like real-life shippers or something. I know they don't particularly like Quinn much and that's a motivating factor, but it seems like their real goal is to reunite Lope, when really aren't there other things to strive for in life? It's not like they're related to either of them. Either I've seen that clip before or another show used that gag too, because I thought of that as well! It really was so ridiculous that it ended up being funny. Surveillance cameras set up specifically for the HFTF shoot? Gimme a break. I'd like to see Eric look over the accounts for hiring all that nonsense and blow his foofer. "900 dollarydoos?!?!"
  3. I know I'm in the minority with this opinion, but I think Heather Tom is a beautiful woman and a talented actress and she needs a new storyline like yesterday. This "I'm struggling to reconcile Fantasy Ridge with Real Ridge" angle is getting old and it's a waste of her acting chops. Seeing as Katie seems to have no current occupation, I suggest she take up Private Investigating a la Mrs H or Jessica Fletcher and pump out romantic mystery thrillers while solving crimes on the side. Then she can do battle with Bill over whether SP should open up a fiction division for her works, eventually succeeding in this mission and enjoying a bonus victory when it is discovered that Bill has done some underhanded business deals to keep Katie out of the publishing game(!!!); later on she can find herself embroiled in a plagiarism scandal with a Richard Castle type, initially despising the man for daring to accuse her of lifting someone else's work, but then finding a kindred literary spirit and falling predictably head over heels for him - Ridge be damned! I'm still on the Ridge & Caroline train. I am a House MD refugee so I don't mind Ridge being an asshole, particularly when he's working, and TK & LG, I think, are doing a great job with the material. I don't have an attachment to Ronn Moss as Ridge, either, which probably helps when I watch TK do his thing (and I'd happily watch him snap pencils all day, I'm not gonna lie). And it's refreshing to watch a story that isn't a triangle or a romantic entanglement; it's just about fear and trust, a master and an apprentice, and secrets (!), and it also keeps the core undercurrent theme of fashion pulsing through The Bold and the Beautiful - I've liked the little mentions from other characters (Ivy & Hope, Maya) about Ridge's couture line being behind schedule and how it affects the company as a whole; it's good continuity (even if someone like Maya has no right to be nosy about it like she is). That said, that hug was a little awkward. I think it would have worked better if Ridge had offered to shake hands and Caroline had gone for the hug, and then they work it out between them to get to that hug and then Maya sees them. The atmosphere seemed to go from hostile to friendly too quickly. But anyway. Hope is an awful, awful person. She reminds me of those girls at school who have to be the Boss of Everything. I hope Ivy annihilates her. Anyone else notice the secretary shutting Bill's office door when Wyatt was in there asking about the cliff house? I wonder why TPTB chose to film that; it's not like open doors bother anyone else while having sensitive conversations. I like that Caroline shut the door to Eric's office when she told Katie that she knew about Ridge's impairment, though, nice touch. LOVE $Bill & Don Diamont. All the scenes w/ Liam/SC in Thursday's episode were fantastic. Did he bring a bucket of chicken and a party size pizza for the two of them? No wonder he's looking more and more bloated these days (his beard's fuller, too, I noticed). Loved the mauseo-Liam joke. And Bill talking with his mouth full, and then muffling the reveal to Liam about Wyatt's plan with a chicken wing, oh my God. So, basically, Katie is now Ridge's mother. Hopefully Rick will point this out to Maya when she supplies him with this information. The rumour is that Brooke will but this is just speculation. In any event, she should come back to L.A. with a sexy new Italian Stallion on her arm and give her American geldings a hearty "Arrivederci!" This reminds me of a line Eric had when the REST contract was written up and Forrester Creations reclaimed from Bill; Eric suggests that Ridge can have his office, and Stephanie asks where he would go; he answers that he might take a leaf out of her book and just wander the halls poking her nose into everybody else's business. Sigh. I miss Eric & Stephanie. I hope those papers get recycled; what a waste it would be to draw four lines on it and then throw it in the trash! Take them home for Will and make papier mâché balloon animals or something. Sigh. I miss Will.
  4. Sooooo, you guys, I really enjoyed today's episode. Not only did Eric have actual lines and was in the bonus scene too (and sported a shiny new haircut - God smite me I love that old fool and I don't care who knows it), we also had shirtless Carter, Ridge & Caroline, and no Hope/Liam/Wyatt. Score! But what was up with Maya's line about "If you're having second thoughts about marrying [Caroline]"? Surely that was a fluff? "Good thing I'm not the jealous type!" Oh, Katie. I gotta say, though, I'm still intrigued by where this Ridge/Caroline thing is going. I don't see the romantic sparks flying, and I don't want it to get physical (right now, anyway - although there is a hug in the promo so whatever!), but there will definitely be some Chinese Whispers doing the rounds tout suite and I wanna see how that goes down. Have you all heard the news about KKL going to the Italian Dancing with the Stars? Three months away from B&B apparently. She's just touched down in Sydney for the charity ride on the Great Ocean Road, and then straight after that she and her boyfriend are headed to the Continent. I wonder in which direction the story will go? KKL suggested that Brooke will work from the FC International office in Milan (I didn't realise there was one???)
  5. Did anyone else think Don Diamont looked especially enormous today, or was it just me? He looked a little puffed in the face, and the light coloured shirt did him no favours. Not that I'm complaining, I love a man with a bit of meat on his bones. So. Many. Boomerangs! And plastic, too - I don't think I've ever seen a plastic boomerang before. They remind me of all the silly jokes, like "Bought a new boomerang, can't throw away my old one", "What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back? A stick", etc. Eric's in the promo for tomorrow's episode hip hip hooray! I bet he has no lines and looks stupid all day. The only things I can think of that stopped them from developing this story are TK's scheduling and the Dubai shoot, although there have been opportunities for Brooke to be present at FC Executive & Whoever Else is Nearby meetings since then and instead she's been "dealing with personal stuff" (i.e. faffing about with Bill), which even the characters have commented on in passing. This story had a lot of soapy promise and then it was dropped like a hot spud around the time Bill asked Brooke to marry him - we still had the confrontations, but they weren't at FC. Here's another chance for Brooke to poke her nose into Ridge's business at FC while he's working with Caroline, but I guess they're just going with Maya on that one. Sigh. A few months ago I bought a copy of After Dark magazine from 1979 (with John McCook & Jamie Lyn Bauer on the cover), which had an article entitled "The Hot & The Bothered" that pretty much tells the same story as this new one from Salon, though it had more of a "sexualisation of soaps" angle. Seems like not much has changed 35 years later! You're very welcome, RuntheTable, happy to help! :) Oh God mine too! You mean from The Simpsons, right? ;) Best wishes for your new life LittleIggy! Hope everything goes to plan for you. :)
  6. Ooh ooh ooh you guys, Ivy's throwing an Australia party!!! But I got some bones to pick. First of all, Canberra is pronounced "Canbra", not "Can-berra". And Ayers Rock hasn't been called Ayers Rock for at least 20 years (t's Uluru - Ivy should know this!). And where the hell is Ivy getting yabbies from in Los Angeles? Hardly any restaurants in Australia serve them and they're not often in the shops; you usually just go out and fish them yourself (called yabbying). Maybe she just bought crayfish and hoped no one would notice. But the Vegemite tasting was fun. I thought it had been banned in the US but apparently that was just a rumour. Best accents go to Jacob Young & Linsey Godfrey - Zach Conroy's sounded more South African. Enjoyed $Bill & Liam. Loved Quinn & Bill. John is Ivy's father. Or did you mean because Fred Willard looks so old? According to FW's casting press release, John is a travelling salesman. But if Ivy lives in Sydney then they have to be fairly well off. Maybe Eric sends them money? I wish Lesli Kay was in the cast, just so someone could say this to her in the show. Hope's tried this before with Eric (twice) trying to get the QAJ contract terminated and, from memory, was shot down both times with a lecture from Eric about "we're people of our word/we honour the contracts we sign". Hell, he even tried to get two exes to work together when he dropped Brooke & Ridge into the co-VP roles (not that we've seen any of that actually happen, so whatever). And if Hope doesn't want Ivy working for HFTF, I'm sure they'll have her working on the couture line to keep her around.
  7. I don't understand how Ridge can use Caroline as a conduit to draw but can't do it himself - surely if he is making all the right hand movements to sketch by guiding Caroline's hand, then he can do the same on his own and achieve the same result. Maybe the writers have seen that phantom limb magic box trick and thought they could conjure up the same, but it's not. No matter - whatever it takes to get some more closeups of Thorsten Kaye's manly hands.
  8. Echoing all this love for Ivy vs Hope, and of course I'm on Team Ivy (Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!). And again, this Ridge/Caroline thing is just the carrot TPTB can dangle in front of me to keep me watching. You bring up a good point there, takeittotheBanks. But didn't they write Heather Tom's pregnancy with Zane into the story as well? Or was that all a big coincidence? The whole scene with her & Eric in the doctor's office when they get the final prognosis gets me every time. She says something like "You'll just be sitting next to an unconscious body"; he replies "Then I'll finally get to do all the talking"; she laughs, but he's falling apart, and then I'm falling apart. Some people like to watch The Notebook; I watch that scene. MulletorHater, that is fantastic, I applaud you. +1 over here. I like that this is a professional relationship primarily rather than a romantic one, and I do buy Caroline's gushing over Ridge as The Best Designer In The World, because who wouldn't act the same way if we could work with our idols? But, as much as I love an inappropriate relationship, I hope this one stays platonic, or at least in UST purgatory. In any event, I'm really looking forward to seeing where this storyline heads. Or, given that it was Ivy laying it down, a "smecked arse". Oh yeah, I get that the soap opera format is not BFF-friendly territory, but when everyone is sleeping around with/betraying family members, it's nice to see something different happen between two people every once and a while. Take the rapport between Aly & Ivy, for example - yes, they're technically related, but they don't know each other and they are getting to know each other mostly as friends rather than as cousins (are they second cousins? I don't know. Ivy's cousins are Thorne, Felicia, Kristen, Rick & Bridget). They're talking about boys and scheming and bitching about Hope together like normal 20-somethings - that's what I mean. And then inevitably, provided the rapport is built up well enough, either Ivy or Aly will do something to hurt the other and there's the drama component.
  9. I'm not gonna lie, I loved the Caroline/Ridge stuff. All it needed was for Maya to pop up and say "You in danger, girl". And it was fun. This was the time when I started watching and it was Caroline & Rafael + Eric/Brooke that sucked me in, later followed by Brooke's Birthday Disaster. The show needs that kind of friendship again to lighten it up from the heavy drama the triangles monotonously deliver week after week. Agreed. (I was going to say something else to this, but I've forgotten it.) Agreed again. I don't have a dog in the Brooke/Bill/Deacon/Ridge/Whoever Else fight, but having one of the major characters involved in the story that originated the Brooke/Deacon "relationship" absent from the story that attempts to reconnect them lacks the oomph to propel it forward and put it in a frontburner position. And it's not like Ashley Jones is committed anywhere in particular, so that's no obstacle to adding Bridget into the mix. But in saying that, did Ashley Jones's Bridget ever interact with Deacon? From what I've seen it was all Jennifer Finnegan, and AJ's major love interest was Crap Wagner. Obviously recasts happen in soaps and you readjust, but would it be strange to see AJ & SK rehashing stuff that didn't happen between them? The way the story went immediately after Stephanie's death seemed to set up Team Brooke & Team Taylor in a sort of Battle of the Generations setup, which would have been fine except that Team Taylor suddenly and spectacularly disbanded six months in and forfeited by default to Team Brooke, thereby completely unbalancing the dynamic of the cast of characters so that we had essentially two Forresters left semi-fulltime, and the rest of the numbers made up by Logans and Spencers. And when the Logans and the Spencers are (literally) in bed together, the story starts to row with one oar. No idea, but you're not the only one with that opinion, blackwing. I don't get the appeal myself, but then my tastes are not so conventional so I'm not throwing stones.
  10. Happy Labor Day weekend 'Murica! Just saw on Twitter that Hunter Tylo has changed her name to Hunter Archila, which I think is her new man's name. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, though, does it? Plot twist! Me too. I'm still disappointed that TPTB didn't seize the opportunity early on to set up Brooke vs Quinn. I would have liked to have seen Quinn cosy up to Brooke as a "friend" for the purpose of gathering intel, and then have the friendship turn to shit when Quinn ultimately betrays Brooke somehow (Bill, I guess). Pairing her up with the septuagenarian Forrester patriarch in The Worst Couple In History didn't do her any favours either. Donna is still seen working at FC with Pam, which is interesting (word used loosely) because, after her divorce from Eric & subsequent selling of FC stock to Bill, she shouldn't have to work, but she does. No idea where she lives, though - before Bill moved into the Logan mansion I think she was there, or she was at Katie's place before Ridge moved in. Perhaps she should ask Eric if he's got any spare beds in the Forrester Manse? This is the best explanation of anything ever, Joimiaroxeu. Just an idea - would this be negated if it were Caroline and Dayzee teaming up as Mean Girls against Maya? Dayzee wasn't hot on Maya going after Rick IIRC. They could have hassled Maya like Sally & Lauren used to hassle Stephanie. I think Linsey Godfrey & Kristolyn Lloyd could've worked well together in a plot like that. She was fearsome. She really made me hate Ann and feel so much sympathy for Stephanie. (I know, right?) I didn't know I could love and respect Betty White even more than I already did! Not saying that Betty White and Fred Willard are in the same league, but I'm hoping FW's turn as John F will do something similar. (I refuse to let go of my excitement over an Eric storyline!!!) I don't think it's ever been specifically mentioned, but when the show started there was a lot of press about John McCook being too young to be the patriarch so I guess we're to assume Eric is 10 years older? Which puts him at 80. I think this was complicated by Brooke's involvement with Ridge - there was a period where no one could decide whether Ridge should act as Rick's brother or father, particularly when Bridge were parenting Bridget and assuming she was their daughter. IIRC it was when Brooke disappeared to Barbados (?) that Eric (and Stephanie) decided to fight for custodial rights and Eric figured it was time for him to be a bigger part of his children's lives.
  11. YOU GUYS! Ahem, I mean, you guys! John Forrester's coming to town, and he's being played by Fred Willard!!! I've already got pins and needles and I've only known about this for half an hour. I hope they do both comedy and drama, about 80% of JMC's back catalogue is comedy work and I'm sure FW can do the serious stuff too - oh gosh I'm so excited. I never wanted John Forrester casted but I'm happy with this.
  12. Sorry St3phForrester, I meant to say yeah! to this. And it is good to see you back with us! Well thank you, it's nice to be back! I'll see you all again in a months' time when John McCook makes his contractual appearance. Thanks Anna Yolei - I went through the Five Stages of Dying last week and have come out the other side - really the only thing valuable that I "lost" was the sneaky copy of JMC in The Rear Guard I burnt when I had a lend of the DVD from the Dad's Army Appreciation Society. So perhaps it was karma getting me back for engaging in illegal activity! In the bonus scene with Charlie stressing out that the Hopeless Diamond was unescorted on its tour of Europe. A few thoughts (it's all right, I'm sitting down): - KKL is going to be in Australia shortly doing a charity bike ride on the Great Ocean Road, which presumably means a break from filming. Are we going to have a few weeks of story with no Brooke coming up? - Michael Logan at TV Guide tweeted something earlier today about a new Forrester being introduced soon: - Have you guys seen Scott Clifton's ice bucket challenge video? Here's the link - the thing that struck me straight away was how much he was acting like our very own $Bill...
  13. Good point Artsda - didn't even cross my mind to think that!
  14. No apology necessary! Jim Storm's Bill Spencer is old, old news. And dead. I think he had four, something like "The buzz is unbelievable" or some other rubbish; he spent most of the episode eating hors d'oeuvres. Hardly worth JMC pulling the suit on for. Which reminds me - thought it was odd when Maya accosted Rick the second time, and he said "I'm not alone, Dad's just across the courtyard", when Eric was standing right behind him in the living room. ???
  15. My friends, a moment of silence if you will, to mourn my external hard drive which crashed last night and so inconsiderately wiped all of my Bold stuff - pictures, video clips, full episodes, everything, all gone. It's this kind of technological treachery that makes you want to pick up a book instead. I thought you meant Bill Spencer, Sr. Derp! No one was friends with him either, come to think of it. Congrats on your 25-year Friendship, too, sugarbaker. Well, there were waiters, so maybe she had her house staff do the waiting? The caterers probably went home after everything had been prepared, but it looked like it was just cupcakes & strawberries, so how hard could that be? And does Brooke do anything else these days? When was the last time she was at FC? I've never liked this "The Logan Sisters Can't Do Anything Practical" angle TPTB have worked in the last 5ish years or so. Remember that Christmas when they burnt the turkey? And it was funny because they are daughters of a first-class caterer? I'm pretty sure if you can earn a Chemistry degree at university, you can cook a bird. Ugh, rant over. I was joking, but the more I think about it the more I wouldn't mind seeing it. Age & relation are not really obstacles to romance on this show anyway, and especially not for Donna Logan. "Someone's overcompensating!" Oh, boys. This is one of the reasons why I love TK in this cast, despite everything that's wrong with his Ridge. He doesn't give an F and it makes me laugh. What's with the Bob Barker thing next week? I get the Happy Gilmore reference, but why is he punching out Wyatt? Of all the silly things this show does, this seems pretty silly.
  16. Looking for Eric, perhaps? So was I - turns out he's on tomorrow's show instead. Ho hum! Haven't watched a whole episode since before Paris, but it doesn't look like I've missed much. DeaQuinn the Scheme Team are fun, RS and SK are obviously enjoying themselves. Don Diamont looked fuller in the face to me, but it might just be the haircut. And Thorsten Kaye looked enormous in that light blue shirt, goodness gracious. I love it, but damn. @RuntheTable, did you see Donna look Carter up and down as she offered to get him a glass of champagne? If we're not gonna get any more Honeybear, then I'll settle for some Chocolate Swirl.
  17. At least when this happened they wrote Stephanie's absence into the story - she went into hiding because she couldn't face the wrath of her family who were blaming her for something she didn't intend to happen - whereas these long breaks with TK completely unbalance the dynamics of the show, so that we have these torturous stories focusing on one set of characters for weeks on end with no relief, or too short a relief when Ridge is eventually returned to the story. Why can't the writers go back to the original format of three scenes per act and each scene features different characters? Open the show with a C-plot scene (for example, Maya & Carter/Rick & Caroline), then a B-plot scene (Brooke/Bill/Ridge/Katie), then an A-plot scene (Hope/Liam/Wyatt) before the credits roll, and play that format through the episode so that the cliffhanger scene at the end is your A-plot story. That way you give everyone in the audience something to follow though the episode, in snippets so still adhering to the showbiz rule of "Always leave them wanting more", and having the biggest/frontburner story still pack the biggest punches. Right now it seems like (I haven't watched a full episode for a long, long time) there are different scenes on different sets with different characters, but they're all talking about Hope - it needs to be different scenes on different sets with different characters and different storylines to be sustainable and avoid burnout. Sigh. I guess the only good thing about three weeks of Hope/Liam/Wyatt is I've recovered half an hour of each day? Oh sugarbaker, you're killing me. If they put that on a t-shirt I would buy 10 and wear one every day of the week. :/
  18. Aww you guys, I love talking about Old Bold! I love this book and all the glossy pictures in it, it's one of my prized possessions. And it only cost me 10 bucks! Tell me about it! I bought the first 50 episodes earlier this year and spent the summer (different hemisphere) watching them back to back, and it was glorious. The thing that struck me the most (other than falling in love with the gorgeous John McCook all over again, Good Lord Above) was how truly vile Stephanie was - everything she said was laden with venom and she was so, so cold-hearted! I would often catch myself saying "What a witch!" as I was watching her, but loving every second. She was always a pretty horrible character, but particularly in the beginning she was just so hateful. Sigh. Now I'm all nostalgic.
  19. I think someone said she was in another meeting. ETA: Linsey Godfrey just tweeted that she's back at work tomorrow (8/5).
  20. Today's episode was the first I've watched all the way through in a long time, and for this viewer there wasn't much to get excited about - except for Ridge & Eric being in the same scene, of course. I'm willing to let the laboured dialogue delivery slide for the chance to see Thorsten Kaye & John McCook exchange sceptical glances at each other, I won't lie. A little irritated to see Brooke finding out about the HFTF press conference via social media alerts instead of, oh, I don't know, her workplace calling her and requesting her attendance at the SAG Card Renewal Meeting (thanks grisgris) like Rick asked the rest of the opening credits cast to be. Is she no longer co-vice president of FC along with Ridge? I thought when her phone went off the first time it was Rick calling/texting, but obviously not. Nice to see Rena Sofer back on screen, but goodness gracious what was with those pants she was wearing? Talk about crazy! I would love it if the show went full-on murder mystery whodunnit with Quinn and this Montemayor guy, but I doubt they will, and if they did it would be an awful half-hearted attempt at something other than a love triangle which will take a roll down Ocean Avenue pretty damn quickly. Shame. Hope/Liam/Wyatt ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. What is Hope's major malfunction? It's clear to Blind Fred that Liam doesn't trust her to make any decisions of her own, be they business or personal, and that is toxic to any relationship, romantic or otherwise. And there's every indication - at least, the writers are telling us - that Hope believes in free agency and "empowerment" etc. etc., so why does she continue to let Liam manipulate her every move? This factor more than anything I think kills the potential chemistry between Hope & Liam because this possessive, borderline abusive relationship is not enjoyable to watch, amongst other reasons fellow posters have voiced above. It's a crying shame that in 2014 we still don't have a strong, independent, frontline* female character for the audience to get behind and acknowledge, if not support, as a figure of the modern woman. But anyway. *Caroline kicks ass and takes names but even before LG's pregnancy I would have hesitated to call her a frontline character like Brooke & Hope are. It's amazing what you can find on YouTube if you know where to look - there are a whole heap of episodes from 1997-98, in German but in higher quality than most clips on YT, and another channel has just about every episode from the point of Brooke's rape to Eric & Donna's wedding (in English), as well as those horrible Polish overdubbed clips from the mid 2000s... I wonder what the costs would be to put every B&B episode up on something like YT and set up a pay-per-view system like some other official channels have, as opposed to the costs of releasing them all on physical DVD. I'm sure it'd be a quick way for CBS to make a mint without having to pay for things like discs, cases, covers, promo material, etc.
  21. Oh my goodness - it worked! Thanks radishcake! But now I can't see anything in this thread...? (I'm just joking, I love everyone.)
  22. IIRC Stephanie even said as much as she was handing Donna the invitation to her almost-dead party, that she didn't want Eric to be lonely when she passed and suggested Donna be there to comfort him in his grief. Again TPTB missed the boat with the portrait-falling-off-the-wall gag last time Eric kissed Donna after the Bridge failed wedding #437 - I would have liked for Stephanie to stay on the wall as a seal of approval, rather than trot out her one trick for a cheap laugh. Oh well.
  23. I did feel a little dirty typing it out, I gotta say. Apologies RuntheTable - I meant it in a nice way! I'd move mountains to see footage of Lance Prentiss - I tried to find stuff for my blog but there's just nothing online except for what was shown in the 50 Years of Soaps Special [link to YouTube]. Hopefully Sony have the good sense one day to release a DVD of Y&R stuff like they did with B&B, like a collection of fan favourites or most shocking moments or whatever, and really dig deep into the archives. I'd especially like to see Lance & his whackadoodle mom - the more things change in the suds trade, the more they stay the same...
  24. Thanks for sending a scare through the camp, blackwing - your post had me thinking Eric was in today's episode so I bothered to watch it, but it was not to be! Rats! This Eric/Donna thing (or lack thereof) is a bugbear of mine and has been for a long, long time now - I get a bit one-note about it here on this forum but I just can't leave the idea alone that original legacy characters like Donna Logan and Eric Forrester are being backburned into obscurity in favour of oversaturation of the new characters and their storylines, particularly when the writers have dropped breadcrumbs in Donna's dialogue (and Brooke's too, while I think of it) to indicate that Donna is still interested in Eric. I understand that things have to move forward and I get that Hope is the future of the show, but do we really need to have every second scene about the Triangle of Death 3.0 (or whatever number we're up to now)? Even Brooke and her Bedroom Line-Up are playing second fiddle on the regular (but maybe this will chance with Deacon back in Brooke's life - the absence of Ridge is also a factor holding up this stoyline). What TPTB should have done was run the Oliver/Aly romance in parallel with a rekindling of the Eric/Donna relationship: the new, naive and headlong desire in the folly of youth against the mature, familiar and comfortable companionship between two people who at this stage of their lives - Eric certainly - simply want someone to be there for them and to know that they are loved and respected and cherished. Both of these stories are essentially about discovery - of feelings and emotions, of personalities, of dreams and aspirations, wants and needs, etc. - but the vitality of one romance and the uniqueness of the other allows this theme of discovery to be told in two different ways to keep things interesting. And they would only need a few scenes a week to fuel the storylines along, they don't have to be front page news - just enough to keep long-time fans interested in characters they already know and love (or love to hate). I'd be curious to know if there are any fans of B&B who still think of John McCook as Lance Prentiss from 100 years ago on Y&R (said fans are probably themselves 100 years old by now). But anyway. When I get too worked up about the lack of Eric story in 2014 I just watch old episodes and that seems to scratch my itch. Yesterday in the mail I got a DVD loan from the Dad's Army Appreciation Society of The Rear Guard, an attempt at an American Dad's Army remake that JMC was in, so that has kept me busy of late. And I guess there's always fanfiction! *vomit*
  25. Oh LittleIggy, that was exquisite. I can see Bill dangling Ridge over a cliff, or with a gun pointed at Ridge's head, spitting out those exact words. It's a beautiful image. And when he gets to the last line he can move to push Ridge off/pull the trigger - so villainous! - and someone will yell out "STOP!" - but who is it?? - and then the scene cuts to black and we have to wait until next week to find out whether Ridge lives or DIES!!!!!!!!!!!11 Spoilers for August (speaking of spoilers, I remember reading one about Donna "seducing a confession out of Justin" which obviously never happened... shame. That would have been interesting. Never mind):
