I hope this nonsense is just what she has to go through to get to the "single & lovin' it" side. Stephanie had a couple of dips into depressive states before coming out kicking asses and taking names again, so maybe this is the same? (Really I doubt it, but a girl can dream.) I'm sorry*, but as an Eric apologist, this rubbed me the wrong way. My history of this show is incomplete but I'm pretty sure it was Brooke who left Eric the first go around and subsequently rebuffed him at every other attempt of his to rekindle that flame, with the recent exception of his refusal to lie about being the father of the Brill spawn, which had more to do with Eric using his oft-neglected common sense** than not being interested in her. And why give up on a handsome, charming, wealthy, successful gentleman who loves her unconditionally? Oh yeah, I forgot, *~*~*~*~*~*destiny*~*~*~*~*~*. Give me a fracking break. *I'm not sorry. **Eric/Taylor and "common sense" are poles apart in concepts, but you get the idea. I thought that too until I remembered that Caroline was the one listening at the door and then just decided to insert herself into the conversation. Granted, it kind of concerned her, but it's not like Donna and Pam sought her out to tell her their thoughts. And they weren't really being assholes about it, they were just saying things that Caroline doesn't want to hear. I actually didn't mind those scenes, although when I mentioned earlier that I would have liked to see a conversation between Caroline and Donna, I was hopeful for a little bit more empathy from Donna - she has lived pretty well the same scenario. But Pam & Donna had a point, they were concerned for Caroline, they didn't give her a whole heap of attitude like Brooke & Steffy did, and Donna had expressed doubts to Brooke about her desire to chase after Ridge again... I'm fine with that. Caroline insisting that she & Ridge have "something else" and "no one else gets it", I like less. There's confidence, and then there's being smug. For real. Didn't Liam just say "This is between us"? Way to let the team down. Or anyone. JY & JMW were good today and I enjoyed the Rick vs Steffy thing, but I'm still voting no on Steffy being a permanent fixture again. Consider this a free pass to post that clip whenever you like, Gudzilla. What is it with men gifting lingerie? Won't they ever learn???

I feel like KKL is constantly playing catch up whenever she's in a scene with TK, if that's the best way to describe it. I got a good laugh out of it, whatever it was. Not as many laughs as the Spencer Jr Squad scenes though; this is the kind of material that makes me love Linsey Godfrey as an actress. She & Scott Clifton were particularly good. Who would have guessed the secret to making Liam more likeable was just to jack him up on coffee? But Brooke's lines were particularly stupid today. "I've loved Ridge forever"??? Gorl plz. And the bonus scene above (thanks Kia112), RJ asking when Mommy & Daddy are getting back together again? Last time we saw that kid he was talking to everyone like he was 45 years old, not 6. Actually, now that I think about it, what about having a scene between Caroline and Donna? I wonder how that conversation would go. Thanks Cool Breeze for that little tidbit - so if Ridge was 30 in 1990 that means he was born in 1960, and if Stephanie was a freshman (18?) and Eric was a senior (21?) then Stephanie was 70 when she died and Eric is 76 this year. Nope, I'm in, too! Me three, me three! On first viewing I thought he'd PE'd. Whoops! Oh my goodness talk about the lolz, remember the Bollywood number from that show? I think 2:58 was the moment I fell completely in love with Thorsten Kaye.

Wow. They really went all out with the paint thing, didn't they? I was only joking when I mentioned naked finger painting up thread too, I didn't think they'd actually do it. Got me all hot and bothered (and Thorsten Kaye you sexy slab of man meat HOLLA), but I agree the candles and pantyhose over the camera lens was a bit much. I don't like Maya spiralling down the rabbit hole with Rick. Wasn't she concerned about her picture on the wall, when Rick started to act out? Why didn't that continue? Her passive enabling of his bad behaviour doesn't sit well with me at all. If I wanted to watch cartoon villains, I'd turn the channel over to Wacky Races. And another thing - I know Eric is slow, but did he really wait a whole day to call his son to ask him about shooting up the office??? Isn't Europe like six hours ahead of the States? When did Ridge call Eric to first tell him about it? I'm confused. So Liam's the bad guy because he moved on with his life instead of living in the past? In the words of the youth of today, I can't even. You said it best, NinjaPenguins: . The only ages we have for sure are the Logans - in the first handful of episodes Brooke mentioned that Storm was 23, she was 21, Donna was 18 and Katie was 16. Based on this, Brooke is 49 this year (four years younger than KKL), Donna is 46, and Katie is 44. I've always assumed that Eric is 10 years older than JMC, which puts him at 53 in 1987 and 81 this year, and assumed that Ridge was late 20s or 30 at the oldest, which would make him 58 (10 years older than TK and 4 years younger than Ronn Moss). Stephanie had Ridge when she was a freshman in college, which I understand is around about 18? But we have no idea when that was other than to assume that it was 1960ish. It's not even their petri dish, it's his father's!!! ::bleurgh:: You mean Brad? Bill came up with the original good stuff; Brad hasn't done quite as well with the follow up. It was my understanding that Ivy worked for Forrester Creations in Sydney, so technically she's not a contractor but an employee? And Aly is an intern, but she's also directly related to the CEO Emeritus, so it probably doesn't matter what her employment status officially is. Looking forward to seeing Ridge and Brooke in tomorrow's episode! Not!

Ahem! I wrote it out, thought about re-phrasing, and then left it as it was. ;) Please don't apologise for your opinion, KLovestoShop (I sure as hell ain't gonna!). Different strokes for different folks. Personally I like CarRidge because it allows me to indulge in a particular fantasy of mine, as a younger woman with desires for older men, in the safety net of fiction - a bit like catharsis. I can also see why seeing it would make some people uncomfortable with the allusion to a paternal relationship given the age difference, and I understand that (there's a reason why it is and always will be a fantasy...) I wonder whether the issue - greasy actors aside - is Caroline's youth as opposed to Ridge's maturity? When Eric & Donna were becoming hot and heavy it was mostly Eric's advanced age that bothered people (in show as well as in the audience), whereas Donna was just labelled as a plastic, gold-digging bimbo, and there's arguably a greater age difference between Eric & Donna than there is Ridge & Caroline, except that Donna was closer to 40 (Jennifer Gareis was 37 when that storyline started). But like as grisgris said earlier, Caroline comes across as "delicate and young-looking". Steffy & Brooke both mentioned that Caroline is as young as Ridge's daughter(s); I don't think Eric ever mentioned it when he gave Ridge a hard time, only that she was Rick's wife. And going back to Brooke & Eric, Stephanie made a huge deal about Brooke being "just a girl", "Eric would never do such a thing" (ha!). But for me, I don't see Caroline as a girl, I see her as a woman - I'm six months older than LG, and I don't see myself as a girl. I guess we always think we're more mature than we are, particularly in our late teens/early 20s, but for me there's a big difference between 18 and 27. Anyway, I'm not trying to justify my support for CarRidge or try to convert anyone, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

If the same attitude and behavior with a new hobby and location make for a new man. Sorry, I should've put in one of these ;) at the end, I was being sarcastic. contract is up for renewal. Sometimes when a show is playing hardball during contract negotiations they'll put out a casting call like that to make the person think they'll be replaced toot sweet if they don't accept the deal they're being offered. One time a Y&R actor accidentally went on an audition for their own role. Good point. It doesn't seem to me like this particular actor would be a huffy diva about their contract, especially when , but anything's possible. Are there rooms for rent in that wheelhouse? Because here's my first check and the security deposit... I'm on the first plane over - dibs on the bed in the living room! I don't really see Ridge and Caroline's relationship working for the long-term. Oh no, me neither - what I meant was that I wanted Ridge and Caroline, particularly the latter, to acknowledge that there's no future for them as a proper, established couple, and just say that what they're after at the moment with one another is just a Colleagues with Benefits kind of deal, so that when characters like Brooke or Steffy or whoever else says "There's no way you two will be a couple on my watch/over my dead body/etc.", Caroline can say "Well sure, but I don't want that right now, I just want to ride this out and see what happens". Having Caroline confidently declare that Ridge wants her has her teetering on the same edge of sanity and reason as Brooke for mine. Business as usual then.

Guys, I want you all to understand something - where I am it's 40ºC outside. The air con is struggling down here in my study so it's not much better inside. These scenes today of Ridge painting Caroline like one of his French girls might be winter warmers for you, but I'm just about dying from heatstroke. I need like 100 cold showers. I've always fanwanked that Eric paints in his spare time, but I'm happy for NuRidge to take up that fantasy hobby instead. Particularly if he also wants to take up naked finger painting in the near future, I got no qualms about that. Also, I liked Liam not "realising" that his talk of running FCs with Steffy while involved with Ivy upset Steffy because that's a good sign that he's moved on, and for God's sake, someone has to. And I reckon the fact that there are no clear winners or losers makes this story so great. Or did, before Brooke & Steffy reappeared. For real. Caroline has two mothers so she's the one with daddy issues? What an incredibly stupid, ignorant, and uneducated comment to make in the first instance, but then to follow it up with complaining about how her father's free agency as a sentient and conscious human being doesn't play along with her infantile need to play happy families? And we're supposed to root for this character? Oh Turtle, laughing is the last thing one would be doing watching the Taylor/Eric trainwreck. On a similar vein: No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no venusnv80, I've seen your spoiler floating around for some time. I actually really like this new set - so masculine, so creative, so... Ridge! He really is a new man now, isn't he?
-
Steffy's tirade at Ridge didn't make sense for me until their last scene today, when she mentioned all the things that had happened because of Ridge & Caroline's... whatever it is - Rick moving himself and his mistress into her grandparents' home, Maya's picture hanging where her namesake should be, employees at her family's company suffering. To me, being upset with her father about his behaviour causing all of this fall out is reasonable. Screeching at him that his new infatuation is 20 leagues younger than him and has "the emotional maturity of, like, an eight year old" and proclaiming that the quasi-incestuous tone of the relationship is stomach-churning when she and her brother were not too long ago quite happy to support their mother being in a relationship with their grandfather absolutely grinds my gears. JMW's awful acting isn't helping any either. This story was done much better ten years ago when it was Felicia vs Eric. I wish Ridge & Caroline had decided that what they were going to pursue was not a relationship but a flat out fling, no strings attached, so we wouldn't have to deal with all this nay-saying nonsense. Oh well. I like this Spencer Publications hostile takeover story precisely because it's so silly. The Spencer Boys are going to charge in all guns blazing to rescue their damsels in distress, hurrah! I've been wanting more integration between Forrester Creations and SP for a while now so I guess beggars can't be choosers. TK and KKL are so awkward together; I'd love it except for that sinking feeling I get that the Bridge will be rebuilt. oh well. When all else fails, look at this screenshot. And Jacob Young is still being brilliant at playing a total asshole. I liked Wyatt not putting up with Rick's bullshit - Rick had a point but he didn't have to be a jerk about it - and I hope he doesn't go back to his job just to be a spy, but there's a high chance I'll be disappointed in this regard. Oh well. Wow Shira thanks for the nightmares! :( On second thought, all is forgiven. ;) Now if you'll all excuse me for a minute... Seriously! C'mon son. I can't wait for RJ to be SORAS'd into Lord Byron and literally screw everyone over. Oh my God Waldo13 I kept thinking about the apartment from that show when we were in Maya's bathroom penthouse (I think it was the white walls and the full-length windows). Me too. You know, as much as I love that silly old duffer, I think Eric being absent has been a good thing. Dumb as it may be, it's at least fueled the drama. Had he been in LA still we would have just had more of the same "I choose Ridge until tomorrow when I'll choose Rick" waffling, and I think we've all had enough waffling already. Anyway,

Poor Linsey Godfrey! She has fast become my favourite actress. Broken bones/twisted ankles not withstanding, being hit by a car has to be some scary ish. I hope she's on the mend both physically and mentally. Ya know, when Brooke's on the offensive, she's not half bad. I enjoyed her versus Caroline more than I thought I would, finger snap and all - so soapy! Much more fun than watching her cry out of one eye all episode long. And I thought she had a point, too, about Caroline not having a future with Ridge - but then neither does she, so...?? I'm happy for Brooke to continue being ridiculous about Ridge to Caroline if it means claws out more often. I'd love to see a sass-off between them. Little Zane continues to be adorable. Another request, while I'm at it - if more Batie equals more Zane & Don's Playtime Half Hour, then more Batie please. JMW reminds me of Miley Cyrus with her squishy face. I still don't understand what's going on with the stock thing - why do Steffy & Thomas have to sell their shares to Liam? Couldn't they just join forces? I thought Thomas lost his shares to Stephanie after the boinkberry thing anyway? Can't say I blame Eric for running off to parts unknown, all this maths is making my head hurt. And when Eric says no, you know you got problems. . For real. If she qualified this concern with something like "it was too great an age difference and I was too young and we couldn't really connect and I wouldn't recommend it blah blah blah" then yeah, fair enough. But to point it out as something abhorrent when she herself believes that it isn't is hypocrisy. I don't recall her being similarly upset with Donna and Eric when they were together. Same with Steffy being upset that Caroline is "her age"; did she forget about $Bill? (If you believe his own press, no woman can.) Judge not lest ye be judged, ladies. LOL @ Aly & Ivy wanting to see Eric blow his foofa - I've been waiting for that to happen for months now.

Just finished catching up on the weeks's episodes... and I'm not really sure about what's going on. Wednesday's show with Quinn & Deacon was pretty unforgettable, but the others were pretty good. Not as good as it has been lately, but enjoyable. I definitely feel the "Brooke vs Maya is the new Stephanie vs Brooke" thing being pushed on us, but KKL has a loooong way to go before she's up to filling Susan Flannery's comfortable loafers. I'm quite happy to watch more of JY & TK & LG & JMos in the meantime. Bring on next week, I guess? Did Pam really say "Eric always knows what to do"? Girl don't make me laugh. Donna sold her shares to Bill, that's how he got his 12.5% that Liam said he wanted to help him take over FC. In Eric's boxers and robe. Rick in Eric's portly-sized attire would just make him look like a kid playing dress-ups. LOL, thanks for the laugh NinjaPenguins. Glad I'm not the only one confused by this. Is he on some big tour in the States? Or doing some new show on TV? Why would CBS promote something from 10ish years ago? Seems a bit weird. Thanks Snaporaz! I hope everyone survived the blizzards. Snow don't play!

I liked the special episode, but felt it could've been longer and had more people in it. I like seeing the behind the scenes stuff, so the "day in the life of" and the green screen bits were cool. But maybe there could have been more interviews with the cast, like the one with John & Kelly kia112 posted above. Anyway. I loved seeing Kelly's screentest with John (with his pre-dyed hair and his cute little sweater vest, oh gosh), and I loved catching him standing on set with Alley Mills in his socks, that made me laugh. He & Eric really are different people. And TK saying "There are people watching; I have enough trouble doing this at home" - I love his sense of humour. It irked me a little the other day when Ivy called it "the Forrester office". Always and forever, that set will be "Eric's office" to me. It's my wish that they leave his desk & chair empty when he departs for good, out of respect and rememberance; and that asshole characters like $Bill will sit in it to piss off the Forresters if and when required. A bit like this "Stephanie's Portrait" business. You guys don't get Home and Away in the States but that show has a lot of beefcake on it. Like, a lot. (It's a soap set on a beach, of course there's gonna be beefcake.) Well, she is in her 60s now. That said, she's the same age as Laurette Spang and Mrs McCook looks more like 45. You win some, you lose some.

I really hate to say this, but did Katherine Kelly Lang become an even worse actor during her hiatus? Those scenes between her, Sean Kanan & Rena Sofer were particularly deflating. I feel like we've been spoilt in these last few weeks. But Brooke & Maya were good for a laugh, KMos in particular did a great job. I missed Wednesday's episode, which apparently was a good one? Oh well. There's good and bad with that: If $Bill and Liam savage Rick in their publications it damages the entire Forester brand and Forester family. Should they tar and feather Rick, they also soil the careers of the people they allegedly want to protect. I've been thinking about this, too. There needs to be some way to incorporate Spencer Publications getting involved in what's happening at Forrester Creations to keep the two sides of the B&B story cohesive and co-operative. But as you've pointed out, Cupid Stunt, it's a zero-sum game. Way back when Ridge's "disability" was exposed to Katie, Bill & Brooke, I had hoped of a storyline wherein Bill exposes Ridge to the world through Eye on Fashion, but I couldn't figure out a smart way for him to do it without implicating himself in Ridge's injuries in the first instance. One possibility is that SP promotes Ridge & Caroline's new design house over any promotion for FC, which would support Caroline (and Ivy if she were to jump ship) and allow FC to tank all on its own, but that would also mean that Bill would have a vested interest in whatever Ridge is doing, which I don't think he'd be happy about. Now here is a show I would watch all day long. Me too. Could they also wear invisible clothes? Yeah but the majority shareholder signed away irrevocable control to the CEO just recently, so... I don't know. This whole thing is a mess. I've stopped trying to follow who's right/who's wrong, both corporate and otherwise, in this storyline because it's impossible. I wasn't watching then either, being all of six years old, but from what I've seen in clip form putting up is exactly what Eric did, at least when he was involved with Sheila Carter. His whole family gave him flak about marrying that nutjob and the most he did was yell at Stephanie and Lauren when Sheila left him at the altar. I think it was only when he was married to Donna that he fired Stephanie from FC and she went to work for Jackie M, but again I think that was really because she was a rumourmonger and a busybody trying to get him involved with the Rick/Steffy/Phoebe thing (or whatever it was at the time), and he'd had enough of it, rather than because she was pestering him about who he was sleeping with. Any of our 7000-episode veterans want to jump in on this to clarify? blackwing, to add to your location table: Virtual high five, Gemini ;) Eh, maybe I'm just being sensitive. I forget that Ivy/AB is still "new" and "exotic" for you guys ;)
-
Wow you guys, I'm a little bit freaked out right now. That last scene, good sweet lord, I'm gonna hafta sleep with the lights on to stop seeing Rick's demented face in my dreams. The scenes between JY & LG are getting better and better each episode; if they don't win Emmys for the work they've been doing in this storyline it'll be a crime. I thought Bill & Maya was a bit lame. Although, and I forgot to mention this yesterday, I like that Bill referred to the Forrester mansion as "Stephanie's home" (in yesterday's episode). Bill always respected Stephanie and she did him, and DD & SF worked really well together as two villians scheming against each other. Sigh. Now I'm all nostalgic. Totally agree. Obviously there are no winners in this game but if it's good enough for Rick to carry on the way he has about Maya, why can't Caroline be allowed to own her feelings for Ridge and move on? If Rick says he's no longer interested in Caroline, he can't expect her to cling on forever. Ash Brewer's my girl and I realise Ivy only piped up so that Liam had a good reason to barge in later, but I would have preferred it if the episode ended with just Rick & Caroline ready to murder each other with their bare hands than having Rick yelling freely at everyone and Ivy butting in to repeat the same old story. I argue the complete opposite. Think about everything that JY's done in this story from go to woe, all the emotions he's played throughout (love, hate, anger, hurt, elation, power, bliss, arrogance, blind rage, and now instability), and all these meaty scenes he's had with LG, TK, JMC, KMos... sounds like an actor's wet dream to me. I agree; I like that Katie doesn't buy into Bill's bullshit and makes fun of him for it. Hopefully Brooke's return doesn't ruin it, but it probably will. No, FC is its own company. Bill owns 12.5% stock, but that's it. (Not that being a shareholder seems to count for anything anymore.) He looks like the kind of guy who would be familiar with all aspects of manscaping. More's the pity; I like a man with a bit of fur on him. Ain't nothing cute about the daydream I had this afternoon can I get a what whaaaaat No, but I've heard it around. I actually think Cousin Koala is hilarious, but if it bothers you, St3phForrester, I'd be happy to refrain from it. Not that I've used it, but I thought about it. To be fair, I've never heard anyone use either of those names until I read them on here. I guess it's just a bit odd, reading someone being made fun of because they're Australian, particularly when their nationality has nothing to do with what's wrong with them. Normally we would just make fun of people because they're indecisive/they sleep around/they are idiots generally. Also, I thought everyone loved Australians?????????

Well, another Patrick Mulcahey cracker. So much going on today! Best part of today's episode? Caroline walking into Bill's office through the back door. This girl absolutely cracks me up. The first scene with Rick & Caroline was great too. "She's young - very young. And pretty. Her name's Nicole. Can I go now?" Aaand this: I'm digging this new Nicole chica. I get the feeling she knows how to snatch a weave and get away with it. The actress is good too. I wasn't sure about introducing Maya's sister because it just screamed cast bloat to me, but I already like her. Eric's conquests: - Beth Logan; - Stephanie Forrester; - Brooke Logan; - Sheila Carter; - Lauren Fenmore; - Jackie Marone; - Donna Logan; - Taylor Hayes. And me, in my imagination. One of my favourite Eric/Stephanie scenes is from this storyline and involves dialogue from Eric which begins, "You bribe your grandson to say he slept with his father's wife..." Nothing wrong with his posture when he's lying flat on the mattress. HOLLA Well thank goodness it's not a properly run business! Hilarious. I also loved that Pam was carrying that massive picture around everywhere; I could imagine her bumping into people in the FC hallways, dragging her shrine to her dead sister about the place and scaring the hell outta everyone who had previously assumed that Stephanie Forrester was six foot underground. Does Katie know about Caroline & Ridge being a proper serious thing right now? Does anyone other than Ivy know? I had the impression Katie was just talking in generalities about Ridge. I saw it as less of "congratulations" and more of "be careful around Ridge because he's on another planet and will hurt you if you get in too deep". :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( I didn't understand this. Was he making an unsavory masturbation reference? What's wrong with a man having hairy hands? They don't look abnormally hairy to me. Does Don Diamont not have hair on his hands? I don't get it.

Was there a timeframe on Eric's European speaking tour or did we just assume it? I can't remember there being a line about it but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I haven't seen any PR/press about JMC doing extracurricular theatre work or other TV, but that's not to say he isn't. I might ask Eva on Twitter and report back if I hear anything. In any event, on this show, 6 months could be condensed into two weeks, and Eric will suddenly be back in LA in the blink of an eye. My gut feeling is that giving Eric the opportunity to take leave from Forrester Creations is a contingency plan for if/when John is unable to work, due to illness or otherwise. He's not a sickly guy (as far as I can tell, though he does wheeze a bit these days), but he's also now 70. At the moment with Eric going to Europe, I think this is more of a lull in the story for him - the action is elsewhere now, between Ridge/Caroline/Rick/Maya - but in the future, it could be a convenient cover to explain why he hasn't been around ("Where's Eric?" "Oh, he's off with his brother going fishing/on a Mediterranean cruise/exploring the pyramids of Giza", etc.) That's not to suggest that Eric will go the way of Sally Spectra and be eternally on vacation once JMC passes on - I'm sure they'll come up with a story to address his loss a la Katherine Chancellor/Jeanne Cooper - but it's an out for the writers if something unexpected happens. It was the same with Susan Flannery; I remember reading about when Brooke was raped, SF was actually unwell due to her fibromyalgia, so they had Stephanie go "out of town" and stay with Betty White until things in LA settled down. Ridge told Eric to go anyway, because I remember him having the line "Go play with your brother", and I went somewhere completely different with it. /Ew Re: TK not looking the part, I'm convinced that if they gave him a short back & sides and checked the stubble beard he'd suit playing classical Ridge much better. I think TPTB liked the untidy look of TK and kept it to reflect the character becoming a little darker and more emotional. As always, YMMV.

So I finally caught up with this week's run of shows. Thursday's episode? Ho- -ly shit. Linsey Godfrey is living out my older man fantasy right now, pretty well note for note, and I cannot deal with it. And the eye rolls she was giving Maya earlier in the week? Perfect. And the "I can't make any decisions without Ridge, because we're a team, so I can't make any decisions... without Ridge" grinning idiot routine made me pause the tape so I could get rid of the giggles. Oh! And the argument between Ridge & Rick on Wednesday (?) was fantastic by both actors, especially when TK went to grab JY and the latter recoiled, I was like, "Oooh boy! I'm hooked and I can't get enough!" I feared that when John McCook inevitably left the show I would have no one to follow and no more interest in the stories, but now I have new hope. And, as an aside, to be fair to Rick, I didn't know what a clementine was either. (According to Google, it's a mandarin. It's like we speak a whole 'nother different language sometimes!) Howdy PsychedelicTrip! Thanks for your well wishes and same to you! Hope everything is well after your surgery :) Well said, tessaray & smartyshorts. I've been following everyone's back-and-forth here during the week and it's clear that this story is marinated in moral ambiguity, which is the cornerstone of great drama. And personally, I like that characters do stupid, reckless, illogical stuff every now and again*, because what's the fun in seeing people do righteous, logical, sensible things? That's how I live my own life. I tune into the soaps to indulge in fantasies and revel in the fallout, and also to drool over the pretty. *except of course for Eric, because old mate should know better by now. Hear hear, nkotb, to your whole post but especially this bit. I'm Team CaRidge but I appreciate that there are people here that don't like them, either because they don't like the age difference or they think TK is dirty or they don't like Caroline misbehaving, etc. And I respect that people are Team Raya because they like the actors or they believe they have the higher ground, etc. So long as we're all enjoying the show, and that we can respect people having different opinions, that's most important to me. Eridge is my favourite couple on the show, no lie. Why does Eric still have that gun in the bedside table in the first place?! I would have thought his pacifist bleeding heart would have gotten rid of it first chance he had. And re: where the gun came from originally, I think it's obviously the same physical gun (prop) but I don't know if it's the same gun in the story. Wouldn't the gun Storm used to kill himself be in a police vault somewhere/destroyed? I can't see how Stephanie would have ended up with it again after Storm had it. I think it's more likely that the gun Rick pulled out of the bedside table is just a gun Stephanie had; IIRC she was politically pro-gun. No. No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. OhioSongbird, that episode of television is one of my all-time favourite things ever committed to film. JMC and Pierce Brosnan in the same scene? Lord have mercy! This is one of my favourite screencaps, too. It's refreshing to watch him do comedy after seeing him do so much drama here on B&B.
-
Not literally I hope. ;) You never know on this show. I love the bluebird thing. One of my favourite Pam moments is when she's telling Eric about seeing the bluebird at Christmas; something about how that scene was played made Pam seem very on the level when her default mode is madcap. I wonder how much of the audience's reaction to the portrait being replaced is related to the way we see Susan Flannery as the matriarch of the show, and whether we're confusing the fictional disrespect to Stephanie as real-life disrespect to SF. Or maybe that's just me? Don't remind us! *bleurgh*

Oh my God I love John McCook & Thorsten Kaye. Me too. Patrick Mulcahey is truly the best writer on the staff, hands down. For real. And most of it was of the highways? What's the point of that? From memory, Rick never mentioned renovating the guest-house; I think that's something Maya's decided now that she's the Forrester matriarch. I could be wrong though. Either way, moving your shit into the master bedroom when the master is not actually vacating the premises and without his explicit permission is beyond rude and I ain't about that at all. My girl Ivy was right to protest - right up until she pulled the "real Forrester" card, that is. But everything else she said was pretty well spot on. #TeamAustralia Christ, there's even more stock footage of L.A. in the deleted scenes. Did I mention that I love John McCook & Thorsten Kaye? And get Old Passionfingers involved in making even more disasterous knee-jerk decisions? I think we're all better off with him fleeing to Europe.

So I've watched the bit where Ridge slaps Eric on the shoulder about ten times now and that is a fair slap. I wouldn't mind TK giving me a slap on the shoulder like that. And then maybe one on the ass. Sigh. You guys, these guys are my guys. Linsey Godfrey & Jacob Young were particularly fantastic today in my humble opinion. I might be calling it early, but I feel a little like Rick & Caroline are already the new Eric & Stephanie - yelling at the top of their lungs at each other because they both still love one another. LG's line about how she could just slap Rick had echoes of SF for mine. Maybe I'm just easily impressed, but I loved it. I don't agree with the suggestions that Caroline's becoming a Hope-esque milquetoast; that to me says that she's rolling over without a fight, whereas I see a lot of passion and desperation in her that wouldn't be there if she was pulling her punches. I think the "badass" Caroline is almost upon us, after one last rejection by Rick - I'll see what happens through the rest of the week, but I don't think she'll spend the rest of her days grovelling. She's done enough already, and I think we'll see her dust herself off in the coming episodes. At least, I hope so. Because he's gotta stop off at mine first, and I ain't about a rush job. Because Lindsey Godfrey said she's playing it that way. She said Caroline loves Rick and wants to do right by him but it is more of a puppy love/first love compared to her grown up love for Ridge. She said Ridge's love is the reason Caroline has matured and is behaving like a woman instead of a child in her marriage. Is this the interview you're talking about, slayer2? This is what she said: She also went on to say that LG thinks that Ridge "matured" Caroline by making her realise she had "adult" feelings for him. From this I assumed that she meant that Ridge was a love that was deep and all-encompassing: she loves him as a professional (admiration), she loves him physically (attraction), she loves him emotionally (the feelings they shared while designing). Whereas with Rick, she loves him for his confidence and stability, as well as (I assume) being physically attracted to him too, which I think are things we look for in a life partner, which is why she married Rick. Funny you say that, Eric & Stephanie dressed up one time as Henry VIII & Catherine of Aragon for Grant Chambers' party in 1997. Just a bit of trivia. It's not hard, let's be honest.

So you're saying that when I catch up with my friends for a coffee at a cafe somewhere and we're sitting around drinking coffee and talking about life and the mysteries of the universe, I'm actually in a board meeting? You learn something new every day. ETA: Ooh, shiny! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzOtb3bHw9U
