Sorry Gemini! Reading is hard sometimes. Hopefully now that "the cat's out of the bag" it'll be CaRidge's cue to give in to absolute pleasure. I do, but only in one way - I like them as the inappropriate, original sinners-type affair pairing, not the married with two kids type of romantic couple. I don't think the latter is sustainable in this scenario. I'd be happy to see them as colleagues with benefits; they wouldn't have to be committed to one another to weather interloper storms like Brooke et. al. Every time you say this, RuntheTable, I shed a little tear inside. What's a board? lol SweetPea59! My favourite part is when he's all up in Linda's face and he says, "All God's chillun got needs!" Speaking of spouses, I bought myself the Battlestar Galactica boxset for Christmas and have just finished watching the original series. Has anyone else here seen it? I wasn't sure if the romances were actually lightning fast or if it's just me being used to this sort of stuff being drawn out for months on end. And the plot holes! My God, the plot holes!

I can't find the tweet now (typical), but one of the official B&B twitter accounts posted a photo of this guy on his last day a few weeks ago. I think he was a cameraman or some other crew guy who had worked on the show since the start. So when Eric said "thanks for making us look good" or whatever it was he said, I think it was a real shout out. Thinking aloud, but how would they get Brooke to side with Ridge after his attempted coup, and after his desertion of her in favour of her sister, and over her son whom she supported before? Rick would have to do something that has her change alleigances and off the top of my head I can't come up with anything drastic enough. (Other than have Brooke return to LA with newfound inexplicable all-consuming love for Ridge, of course.) And wouldn't that event also cause Eric to change sides, if he is in the habit of following Brooke? I like the idea of Brooke vs Eric but I'm not sure how that would happen - not saying that it couldn't at all, of course. I actually liked it better that it was just a kiss or two, and not a full-on extramarital sex romp. It certainly got us talking on here about the concept of fidelity, how far is too far, the significance of physical intimacy, etc., which is the kind of philosophical thinking that lights my fire when it comes to dissecting fiction. I think it also allowed the story to have a little more room to move on that front as well, whereas if it had been a straight-up PIV thing the situation would be a lot more clear cut, and there would be less ambiguity about right & wrong. Aaand, it still leaves Ridge & Caroline to "go there", whereas if it had already happened the continuing sexual tension would have been lost. I assumed that her posting to Milan, other than being a convenient plot device to explain KKL's absence, was so that she could CEO over there, as an extension of her vice-presidency at the main HQ in LA. I doubt it would have made much difference if she were home seeing as Ridge couldn't stop Rick's roll being in the same position. Update on the fire front - it's still burning and will probably burn for days, but everyone in the area has been evacuated. Yesterday it was 40+ degrees (110+F) and blowing a gale, and the fire burned in all directions, but today it's cooler and the winds have died down so the firefighters can restart putting it out. Our relatives who were on alert have been allowed back home, which is good. And no people have died, which is great. A boarding kennel & cattery was unfortunately lost, some dogs either escaped or were rescued but other dogs and all of the cats perished which is really sad. Thank you for your thoughts & prayers!

Belated happy 2015 everyone! Funny how I was the first to enter the new year but last to pass on salutations. Hope it's off to a better start for you guys than it is for us, we've got a catastrophic bushfire on the city fringe where I am and some of our relatives in the area are preparing to be evacuated. I'm catching up on Bold to pass the time between news updates - all I've got to say is, wow. That last five minutes or so was fantastic and made up for the blah blah blah of the last few episodes for mine. As much as I'm disappointed that Eric elevated stupidity to new heights by signing "the papers" (I knew it was coming, but still), I'm just as excited to see the fall out next week. I hope he goes away with Fred Willard and takes a good hard look at himself for being so blind. Could this disastrous decision be the catalyst for a little introspection? I hope so; but the saying "can't teach an old dog new tricks" is a saying for a reason, and I ain't holding my breath.

I have to admit, when Rick said "and a snow bunny in the other", I thought he was talking about a marshmallow. Silly me! I wish they would cut Rena Sofer's hair. The cropped style she had when she first came on was much better and more villainous. This long locks thing makes her look dowdy. Why on Earth did Ridge mention motherhood to Caroline other than to hit the audience with an enormous plothammer? Isn't "I think you'd be a great parent" only something you would say if you were presently in the vicinity of small children/already discussing having children/not two people who had almost inappropriately PIV'd? Even on this crazy show, that seemed so out of the blue. LuLu123, I like your ideas. B&B used to do heaps of courtroom stuff; maybe they're due for a visit. Shush RuntheTable! Hush your mouth right this instant! Re: ETA: Forgot to mention how much I love watching JMC & TK together. They play off one another so well.
-
Haha, thanks Snaporaz! Same to you :) Apparently it was tacked onto the end of the encore episode that aired on Christmas day; there's a photo on the official Instagram of the cast getting ready to do it and KKL was front and centre. And TK had a santa hat on and it was cute. But it did look awfully cosy. I have to say, I am enjoying just about everything in this Ridge/Caroline/Rick/Maya story - it's juicy, it's silly, it's dramatic, the actors are doing a great job. And that's even without considering that Eric is involved in it which is usually the big drawcard for me. And it's still going without Ridge being in every second scene. I'd completely forgotten about Wyatt/Quinn/Deacon until Friday's episode. I can't wait for next week.
-
Okay, I cried the whole episode, I ain't gonna lie. Seeing the actors engaging with the community was great and I'm so glad they were doing it as themselves rather than as their characters. I hope B&B do it every year from now on. catalogrrr, thank you for sharing your story and it's wonderful to hear things are better for you now, and RuntheTable, have a virtual pat on the back from me for what you do for the cause. And everyone involved in charity and goodwill, God* bless you all. *or Allah or Vishnu or the Flying Spaghetti Monster or whatever is applicable to you! And because I need something to stop me falling into a heap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ag3K7UZaOR0

I don't want to step on any mod toes here so apologies if I'm speaking out of turn, but I would like to suggest that we shelve the racism subject - we had the same discussion a couple of weeks ago and it looks like we're all talking in circles about it, so maybe we could live and let live on that one? ETA: whoops missed your post radishcake. Derp! "You'll be boomeranging back to Australia faster than you can say Didgeridoo"?? Oh, spare me. Pam & Wyatt made me cry a little. Devil's advocate would say that Eric has learnt from that particular mistake* and doesn't want Rick to make the same - he said something similar when he made the ultimatum in the first place. *lol jks Eric never learns That would make sense to me if she was going out, but she was just going to someone's apartment! To look at it. Maybe it was a housewarming party? Me? A girl can dream. A girl can dream. Before it was *~*~*The CEO's Office*~*~*, it was Eric's office. He used to be a designer too. (You'd be forgiven for forgetting.) They even used to have mannequins in there too, and rolls of material, and pins and pin cushions! Like a real designer's office! I wonder what happened to Kristen's office, the one that was attached to Eric's by the door near the fireplace. That had an intercom in it and in the very beginning Stephanie used it to eavesdrop on Eric & Margo. I wonder why they don't use that storytelling device anymore? ETA 2: Revenge of the Edits: whoops I had it back to front - it was Margo's office and Stephanie eavesdropped from Eric's office. Derp x2! Oooh, RuntheTable, me likey. For real. I love dogs, but nope. Merry Christmahanakwanza everyone! Hope everyone has a bold & beautiful day ;)

Kitty Redstone, do you remember what the episode was about? JMC was in two episodes of Dragnet in 1968, once as a uniformed cop and again as a sergeant in an IA investigation, and also did another episode in 1969 as another uniformed cop. I have all three on DVD (of course). The IA one is the best one because he has more lines, but the one about racism is good too. I have screencaps and episode links on my blog if you want to have a look. Later in life John also worked again with Harry Morgan (Gannon) in a short-lived show called Blacke's Magic with Hal Linden, who was also on B&B as the sea captain Stephanie dredged up to slander Jackie with. It's a small world after all. This has happened (at least once) before when Eric et al launched Forrester Originals, I think it was 2007ish? Nick Marone had control of FC after Stephanie pushed Jackie over the balcony and Eric sold the company to him to stop Nick from sending Stephanie to jail. Nick did a good job of tanking the business on his own, and then Brooke's rape sent everyone into a tailspin and she wouldn't model anymore. Then Donna had the bright idea to have Eric buy back FC on the condition that he divorce Stephanie, which he did. Anyway, part of that deal was about Eric's personal tie to Forrester Creations (his name on the business, etc.), and how it was hard for him to relinquish something he'd worked so hard to build up. Perhaps it wouldn't be quite the same if Rick owned it outright because his name is also Forrester, but I'm not sure Eric would be up to riding the new company merry-go-round again if he was recently prepared to "retire". I think Ridge starting his own company, with or without Caroline, would be the better option. Lord indeed. If God made man in his image, give me a one way ticket to Heaven! Ignorance is bliss! Ruthanne? Stephanie asked Eric to help her find her husband Mitchell (I remember this because my brother is a Mitchell). I understand naming legacy characters after one another (although the Eric/Rick/Little Eric thing hurts my brain), but this was a silly move by Bill Bell. Why did Stephen Logan have to be Stephen? Couldn't he have been a Michael or a Matthew, or a Nick or Glenn or George? Not that it matters anyway; in my mind the Logan patriarch is called P Duffs, like Eric's brother is named Fred (not John - too confusing).
-
Oooh, Ivy, you little rippah! Yes. Yes he does. Good thing Forrester Creations has no HR department! Maybe he's been in his old man's medicine cupboard. Maybe she saw the light on and thought there'd be someone in the kitchen she could talk to? I'm more interested in the fact that the Forrester kitchen doesn't seem to have an electric kettle. Whatevs, I liked Ivy & Caroline shooting the breeze; something about it seemed very natural. Reading that made me feel very sad for some reason. :( I'd like to see that play out - give FC a real rival. Just read some spoilers from Soaps She Knows that said: I'm both interested and disheartened. SNS have been wrong from time to time, though, so anything could happen.

I don't understand how time works in Los Angeles - Ridge leaves Katie's place at night; meanwhile, Rick holds a meeting at FC, at night, to fire Maya, and Ridge can't be there because he's at Katie's. At night. Don't these people have other places to be??? Re: Eric being an idiot (here it comes...) I think it's his blind faith in the people he loves that makes Eric look stupid more than him simply being dumb in the first place. It's not that he can't read between the lines, but more that he chooses not to because he believes that people do things for the right reasons - he always thought that Stephanie would do the right thing by other people and then was upset and confused when she did something that ended up hurting them instead. And I think that makes him naive, which is silly for a man his age and especially with his own life experience; he tried this same duping of his wife twice (once with Brooke and again later with Donna - it's how he ended up on the window ledge, after all) - out of everyone involved in this storyline, he in particular should be the one smelling a rat. I thought maybe he was when Rick tried to fire Maya the first time I watched it, but then I watched it again in HD and JMC looked more pleased than suspicious, which was disappointing. I'm not sure what Brad Bell & Co. are doing with Eric by making him look a fool when the Rick/Maya affair inevitably becomes public - the last time something like this happened was when Aly exposed Wyatt's diamond "heist", and he huffed and puffed but that was about it and all was forgiven in the next scene. Would it kill the writers to do a little bit more introspective stuff with his character, like, show him feeling upset about just the notion that his family could squeeze him out of the company? Have him question his purpose in the world and his reason for waking up every day, if he's not to be involved in FC full-time? There's tons of show history to use, JMC's a decent actor, it would break up the monotony of the endless triangles and provide a deeply personal parallel story to the corporate FC storylines. Anything that would make him a little more interesting and a little less asinine. I want an existential crisis, goddammit! Anyway, enough about all that. I'm tired of the "I'm so impressed with Rick's maturity and commitment to his marriage" line too, by the by, and normally I cherish all his dialogue. One of my favourite lines from this show was Stephanie accusing Kristen of seducing her father. Boy did she ever have some complex psychosexual issues! Unwarranted, you are a crack up. To be sexy as hale, girlfriend. Don't question the sexy. I did like HTom/Katie's "Oh Bill, where is this coming from?!" line, because it's exactly what I said. I get that Bill has to get whatever he wants whenever he wants, but what's wrong with rebuilding the Batie relationship slowly, bonding over raising Will, discovering that they actually do get on as friends, and seeing where that takes them? I thought that that was going to happen while KKL was dancing with the stars; now it feels like they're cramming it in at the last minute. Poor, poor, poor. I'm also going to pretend that Bill trying to get Quinn to jump didn't happen, because that's pretty despicable and also came out of nowhere. $Bill's an A-grade asshole but surely he's not that horrible.

Apparently word in the soap mags is that I don't know how I feel about this just yet other than I guess it would be more entertaining than Hope/Liam/Wyazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Re: the aerial footage of L.A. - I hate to say it, but it doesn't look all that glamorous. I didn't realise there were mountains in the background until I Googled "Los Angeles" just now either. Is that where Big Bear is? Maybe L.A. is more impressive on the ground with all the attractions. Call me patriotic, but when I look at a picture of L.A. and then a picture of Sydney Harbour, I think the latter is much nicer. Shira, I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune w/ miscarriage (but happy to hear you have your two children!). Gudzilla there are probably more photos of Bill in his office (is that thing called a credenza? idk furniture) but it's hard to tell when Bill's big-ass executive chair is in the way. Do we know when the Forresters are back on? John & JMW did a facebook chat for Moda Na Sukces (Polish Bold - I think it's not airing anymore?) but I can't find a transcript. :/ I've asked around on Twitter, hopefully there is one.

Both; Brooke's tumble was many years ago, she had come to the Forrester Manse to see Ridge who was out by the pool, and if I remember correctly, Ridge playfully shoved her and she fell and hit her head on the side of the pool. I don't think anyone saw Hope fall in, all I can remember is Nick finding her, and him being blamed by all involved. I remember (well, I know) about Nick rescuing Hope when she was younger, but I thought there was also a time when Thomas & Steffy were also there and Liam rescued Hope? She was high on medication too I think. Gosh this Hope bird is such a klutz! D'aww thanks RuntheTable :D I'm not sure if I'll watch this week's episodes either, depends on who's affected by the Hopeapalooza. I thought I saw a flicker of $Bill in a grey sweater, maybe I'll tune in to see that. You guys snarking about this is reminding me of Beth's fatal swim in the Forrester pool & how Stephanie was crucified for killing Mama Logan when it was a (preventable) accident. Watching DD & SF work together was great, it was like watching Sherlock and Moriarty. Is this the website whose name would sink ships? That site is awful and they always post false spoilers. Pooh-pooh to them!
-
Belated congratulations on the birth of your new baby nkotb! :) And wow, La di Diva, sounds like quite a scrape you got into there! :( I haven't watched any of the show this week other than Eric on Monday and the bonus scenes kia112 has posted here. Next week's promo doesn't particularly inspire me either. Echoing the love for Donna/JG looking fantastic at the shower; all the Logan sisters look great with their hair up, but JG really works the up do. I think it makes her look more mature and sophisticated as opposed to the straightened face curtains she usually wears. This count is from the bonus scene: 1) One on the far left of screen of Liam, Bll & Wyatt from Thanksgiving 2013; 2) One of Will; 3) One of himself; 4) One of him and the row of blondes; 5) One of him and Liam. Darin Brooks is now filming the Blue Mountain State movie, so I'd say Wyatt is off the canvas for a little while at least. I still want my "Katie becomes a romance writer slash private investigator a la Hart to Hart" storyline to come to fruition. Maybe I could jump on this B&B novella bandwagon and write it myself. Wasn't that Hope? Or have they both done it? Also, let's not forget Stephanie - sorry, stuntman in a wig - getting shot by Storm Logan, Donna being attacked by a bear, Sheila shooting Brooke & Taylor, any time Deacon fought any of the Forrester men when he was first on, Sally falling into Lake Como, Eric getting hit by a falling bookcase (didn't this also happen to Bridget?), etc., etc. I think the drugs & alcohol story came from someone suggesting Bell & Co. fired her for doing weed in Amsterdam; one time =/= struggle with substance abuse. SK did a piece in Soap Opera Digest or one of those magazines saying it's pilot season in the US & that she's got an opportunity to do that kind of thing so why not, which makes more sense. I think they're legally first cousins once removed with their common ancestors being Eric & John's parents (Ivy's grandparents and Steffy's legal great-grandparents). I tried to work it out using the Wikipedia guide but my brain exploded. They're obviously not related biologically. Yes we have, and more recently about the man who was strangled (Eric Garner?). It's mostly been footage of the riots though. We actually get a fair bit of American news - even stuff about Obama dancing. I doubt it's the same going back the other way. I see what you're saying, kia112, but I think even "lowbrow" art still has a communicative value to it. Stories can be socio-political (race, sexuality) and still be trashy and incredulous. I'm surprised in some ways how conservative B&B is and yet the relationships are always so scandalous (babies born out of wedlock, May/December romances). I guess that's the inherent nature of drama; things that shock inevitably create conflict, which is what fuels this kind of Scheherezadesque storytelling.
-
I could be wrong but I think Michele van Jean is African-American. Re: the race thing, I have never seen the Maya/Caroline friction as being race-related or as originating in a race-related problem initially; I've understood Caroline calling Maya names other than "Maya" as simply being rude and being more about class rather than race, but then I live in a society that hasn't grown up with that historical connotation and I also personally don't buy into the "us vs them" dichotomy based on the colour of our skin because I believe we're all people and we're all in this together. I don't see Maya and Carter as "the black characters"; I see them as the gold-digging ex-con-turned-singer-turned-actress-turned-model-turned-arm candy and the smokin' hot corporate lawyer who makes poor personal decisions and who apparently plays raquetball with Ridge. The "black sisterhood" thing shouldn't be a call to arms against the white majority, it should be a celebration of black culture (however that is defined) and an effort to promote multiculturalism and equality. (As an aside, why can't we all be sisters???) Is the diaper cake really an American tradition? Surely something someone saw once on Pintrest isn't a tradition. That said, it seems to me that one of our baby shower traditions is to smear melted chocolate bars onto nappies and have contestants guess what they used to be, with the gag being that people often lick what looks like a soiled nappy. So, whatever. Hope feels that she should be honest with Eric after what happened between Rick & Caroline? She should be honest with Eric all the time. Dopey cow. Oh yeah, I didn't mean that what he said at Thanksgiving was proof that he thought it had been a wild ride and that was all, it was more in conjunction with all the other hints we've had post-Donna/Eric and particularly recently that makes it look like he thought it was a bump in the road in his relationship with Stephanie, when what actually happened was a lot more serious and significant, when he must know at some level that Donna is still into him and for some reason he's leading her on by not entertaining her advances. (Does that make sense? I feel like that doesn't make sense.) Anyway, it may be neither here nor there in the near future because of all the love Jennifer Gareis is getting for being back on Y&R. Wasn't the portrait completely different? I thought that was a different picture of Queen Stephanie. Not that anyone's counting, but there are 3 pictures of Stephanie/SF scattered around the B&B universe: 1) The large dark blue one above the fireplace with the silver (?) frame from the 2012 Vanity Fair photoshoot; 2) The smaller blackish picture with the wooden/golden thick frame in the dining room from the 2008 (?) photoshoot; 3) The even smaller photo of Stephanie in the blue pant suit that sits above the fireplace in Eric's office from 2004-5. There's also the one of Stephanie & Eric from 1987 (he's in the white dinner jacket and she in that gold sparkly number) that sits on the cupboard behind Eric's desk, and there may or may not be one in Rick's office w/ Brooke but I might be remembering wrong. Ooh ooh me me me. The writers were good enough to bring that up in 2011 and have been on the ball with the Brooke/Eric history of late so I was disappointed (but not surprised) that it wasn't brought up again this time around. Wake me up when it's Christmas.
-
Oh God you and me both girlfriend. I understand this thing about Eric not missing his water 'til his well ran dry, but it was parched for a long ass time before it dried up completely. I wish he would stop with the wistful looks at the portrait in the mansion, too; Susan Flannery will have enough new material to win next year's Emmy at this rate. The thing that annoys me most about this Stic whitewashing and pedestalling is that it reduces Eric's other relationships to little more than flings and dalliances, in his own mind, when they were so much more than that. His saying to Donna just now at the Thanksgiving dinner, "Thanks for loving me for a little while", is a great example of that. Now granted, I am a bit of a Donna/Eric 'shipper so I am a little biased here, but their relationship wasn't a fling, it was a full-on romance. She wasn't in it just for the money, he wasn't in it just for the sex - they understood and supported one another*, which is more than could be said for Stephanie & Eric as a pair, especially at the turn of the century and onwards. To hear Eric wax poetic about how Stephanie was the best thing to ever happen to him even though she would constantly call him names and give him the cold shoulder drives me crazy when there is a woman waiting in the wings for him to acknowledge that she still loves him and loves him unconditionally** and would never do any of those things. When he says things like "Stephanie was the one who helped me out of whatever particular problem I was having", 9 times out of 10 she was the one who put him in it in the first place, and I wish he would remember what he said to Felicia and Thorne in 2007 about "being someone people would want to get to know" in Donna's company as opposed to hating himself with Stephanie. Anyway. I won't go on. I just would like this reluctance of Eric's to pursue a relationship with Donna again to be cleared up in-show, with direct dialogue, once and for all, so I can sleep a little easier at night. *at least until the very end when Eric wouldn't prosecute Stephanie for Beth's death nor move out of the FM for Donna, which was stupid. **see above point. "Get your naughty ass back here!" Christ on a bike.

Happy Thanksgiving Pilgrums! We had a roast turkey at work today (I work for an American company) and I thought of you guys because you are my American friends and I love you. I'm grateful for this board because this is the only place I can talk about Bold and squee about my old man crush and no one looks at me sideways. Well, I suppose you can't tell over the Internet, but you know what I mean. So was yesterday the only Thanksgiving episode this year? I was wondering what Donna was going to do to follow up her finger fellatio effort from last year; I guess we'll never know. Dare I say it - I like Bill & Katie. I prefer them over Kridge, that's for sure. You can say that again. Ooh ooh, here's a Six Degrees tidbit about Ann-Margaret: she is married to Roger Smith who played Mister Roberts in Mister Roberts in which JMC played a sailor. She also worked with Elvis Presley, who had a brief flirtation with Juliet Prowse, who later became Mrs McCook #2. It's a small world after all. I actually like it. You get the sickly sweet stuff between characters who love each other while simultaneously getting to watch the others who hate each other awkwardly navigate social niceties to be polite. It's a bit like the "two characters stuck in an elevator" writing prompt (which has just reminded me of Maya and Oliver - thanks for that, brain).
-
Aww thanks ByTor, you're so sweet! Hoo boy, what a mess. I'm geniunely shocked at how rude and disrespectful Rick was with his father today, and not just because Eric is my favourite. That "You've acquired quite a mouth" line was blistering. Has Rick forgotten that one of Eric's ex-lovers is his own mother, the other his aunt? I noticed Jacob Young had a hard time making direct eye contact as he said that line, I wonder if that was intentional. Can't wait to see how Eric treats Rick now for the rest of this week, though knowing him as we do, he'll probably forget all about it. Bygones be bygones, isn't that what he was saying to Taylor??? Sigh. I want him to get really mad and just absolutely launch at everyone; he's too "passionate" to let this all die on his fingertips, and JMC needs some Emmy reel material. Is Katie now actively out for revenge against Ridge? And using Bill to exact it? How nefarious! I wonder what Stephen Logan's gonna do now that Dallas has been cancelled. I also enjoyed everything about Thorsten Kaye today; his groan when Maya piped up from the cheap seats made my day. Gosh, wouldn't that be nice! Ugh, thanks for the reminder. I keep reading spoilers about to which I say D'aww shucks Snaporaz. Hers and mine are very similiar, which is odd because AB is originally from Brisbane (where the G20 summit was recently), and Queenslanders (& New South Welshmen) have the broadest Aussie "Strayan" accent, whereas where I'm from we have the closest accents to Britons. I note she did go to a private school though, maybe that's why. ETA: Ooh ooh ooh I forgot about this - spoiler photos of Thanksgiving
-
Ew they got Shakespeare in my soap opera get it out get it out get it ouuuuuuttttt Ridge addresses Pam as Pamela? Surely it should be "Aunt Pam". What was with Eric today? It was like he couldn't decide whether he was angry or excited. I am still finding the accent thing surprising. Is it really that weird to hear an Australian accent in the US? Liam talks about it like it's the most exotic thing he's ever heard. Also, I really liked Ivy & Liam today in the hotel, although I did feel very pervy about it. Hmm. Over Maya & Rick - did we really need to have that post-coital scene? - and over Caroline grovelling. Girlfriend can hitch her saddle on Ridge and ride him 'til the sun sets. Some of these CBS Daytime previews are better than the primetime ones, especially the ones like these with no voiceover. Also, Bill/Ridge fight. I hope it's a proper fight this time and not a scene from Men.com. Although I would like that too. If they ever do, can they please come up with a nickname? Reading recaps from when he was last on the scene is a nightmare. Agreed, and I think that's the real source of the clout TK has with B&B. Couple that with this recent Caroline/Ridge thing which has gained a lot of traction across the audience generally (obviously Kridge fans are against it), and I wouldn't fault TPTB for thinking they're onto a winner. Disagree. Fighting baby heads would be amazing NEXT ON B&B: FIGHTING BABY HEADS ONLY ON CBS DAYTIME

Making notes as I go, here: 1) I wish they would lose the Stephanie thing for Eric. I get it, he misses her, she was a big deal, grieving takes time, et cetera. But when he's got a woman over and he's talking about his dead wife, a woman who made life hell for many of Eric's women no less, it makes every conversation very awkward. Fred Willard was right - how is Eric supposed to pull when there's three in the room? Fans are not going to forget Susan Flannery in a hurry; we don't need to be reminded of Stephanie in every scene Eric has, especially given the high chance of the people bothering to watch his scenes being fans of Stic anyway. I love that old fool but if he had me over for a cheeky drink and whispered in my ear that "she's in the room with us right now" I can guarantee you I'd be sleeping in my own bed that night. (Side-note: when did he & Stephanie come to their "agreement"? Were Mrs Palmer & her five daughters not allowed to visit without the lady doth protesting too much? Poor boy.) 2) Why can't Eric harbour any ill will toward Taylor for dropping him like a hot rock? It annoys me that he doesn't take her to task for that, the writers instead letting him whitewash her with a sermon on forgiveness. A hundred years ago when the show began Eric felt a lot of hurt in his life; nowadays it seems like he forgets all about it after the fact and brushes it all off. We can assume that he and Taylor already had that discussion, but I want to see that happening, not just hear about it in exposition. And the whole "Thorne and I are having trouble" thing, why can't we see that either? TPTB made the effort to re-establish that relationship with that awful post-coitus episode however long ago it was, and again there has been very little follow through on it. Personally I'm not interested in that storyline/those actors but I would prefer to watch that over the endless Hopeless saga we've been subjected to recently. 3) More blazers and jeans for John McCook, please Wardrobe. And a haircut while you're at it too, thanks. 4) Someone fix that fucking picture frame hook, for God's sake. I'd half hoped it would catch fire and that'd be the end of it, but alas. Tell me about it, RuntheTable. I wish Donna would hurry up and stake her claim so we can finally close the book on the whole mess. Is there any going back from all that work she's had done? I imagine there'd be a fair bit of maintenance. Jesus Christ PsychedelicTrip. Talk about all I want for Christmas...

Thanks Foghorn Leghorn! I haven't worked out the best way to host the photos hi-res online, but I have uploaded some smaller ones to my bleurgh if you care to check it. This one is my favourite of the lot: John McCook & Winsor Harmon went to Italy in 199whatever, but I see your point. I guess fishing in Oregon isn't glamorous enough? Preach, preach, preach. If we can see it, why can't TPTB??? I spy Eric & Taylor in the (lacklustre) promo for tomorrow; please God, please God, don't let them go back there.

So guys, I went to see Ronn Moss at the Crown Casino in Melbourne last night for my birthday (about 24 hours ago), and I have to say, he is definitely a better musician than he is an actor - like, a thousand times better. His solo stuff was a little ordinary, but the last half of the show with Player was fantastic. He opened the show with a Q&A (and advised that anyone asking who he prefers between Brooke & Taylor would be escorted out of the show by security); sadly it was not very informative because people decided to ask stupid, stupid questions like "Why did you leave the show?" (we all know the answer to this, next question), "What do you think of Thorsten Kaye?" (he hasn't watched him so doesn't know/doesn't care), "We want you back on the show!" (not a question). One daft bird asked him what brought him to America in the first place, to which I was like, "WTF lady he was born there"; she then had to ask it another five times, twice because Ronn couldn't hear her (no microphones) and then three more times because he didn't understand the question, and then he made a "WTF" face and replied "Uh, because I was born there?!", at which point he cut the Q&A short. He did mention that he was not happy with the direction the show was going at the time he quit, and implied there was some disagreement between him and Brad Bell when he said something along the lines of Brad inheriting the show from his "wonderful father", which to me sounded like Ronn thought Brad is not very grateful nor respectful of his inheritance. BUT, it did get almost instantly better when he showed a B&B behind the scenes video he filmed on his camcorder, around 2008ish (parts of it were Eric & Donna's wedding), in which Susan Flannery lets rip at Ronn for following her around with the camera, and I am delighted to report that the classy lady we all know and love was very liberal with the F word; just seeing that was worth the price of admission for mine. And as previously mentioned, the stuff with the band was great and I found myself wishing it was just a Player concert and not just an Evening with Ronn Moss. And I got some great (illegal) photos of the band which I can share later if anyone wants to see them. After the show he signed merchandise for people in the foyer but he was 10 minutes late coming out so he only signed stuff they were selling (only the t-shirts and CDs; I had brought my B&B coffee table book so I missed out), and didn't do any photos either. I got as close as a couple of metres away but he was surrounded by ladies of a certain age pushing each other out of the way to get to him, so I never got a look in. Oh well. I was a little sad on the walk back to the hotel that I hadn't had my photo taken with Ronn Moss on my birthday, but I guess we can't have everything. So anyway, the moral of this story is that if you like rock & roll and if Player is touring in your area, definitely go and see them because they put on a good show. I only knew one song and I had a great time. Haha ByaNose, I can now confirm that this is completely untrue. :-D

Happy Melbourne Cup day friends! I lost my bets and two horses were put down after the race. Well, one had a heart attack. Maybe it saw Ronn Moss in the Emirates tent. (ETA: I should state that the deaths of animals is not funny and I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my tactless joke.) LisbethDnlt, goodness gracious me, thank you for posting those. Personally I like this one. And this one. And this one. I wish TK would smile more. Have you guys seen the new cast photo Lawrence St Victor tweeted? KKL looks like she's been photoshopped in. And Don Diamont's shirt looks ridiculous. But I'm really all about TK and his particularly wide stance, like, wow. So Eric has a ranch in Oregon? When did that happen? And since when does Eric go fishing? Surely he's the kind of person who has an issue with cleanliness, you know the person who has to wash their hands all the time after patting dogs or using public transport. And what about actually fishing, like, does he kill the fish himself or does Fred Willard do it for him? Or does he throw them back? And "egregious"? "No decisions based on animus"?? Is John McCook writing his own dialogue??? His "How did you know that? Why would she do that? How does she know? I don't get this!!!" exasperation at the end was great. Hope, oh my God. I'm pretty sure Ivy was just trying to make conversation; not everyone has an agenda. I wish someone would push her off a balcony. At least if Eric goes on this "boys trip" (oh yeah, that was the other thing - last time these men were boys was 1955) then he won't be around to make any stupid business decisions, like making Hope CEO.
