  1. The thing about Sam always doing what the ghosts want/ask is at least partially because she can't get away from them. She will literally have 6 people talking at or screaming at hear about something or other. Hard to ignore even when you know you should. I feel for her because no matter where she goes (at the doctor, at a restaurant, in a store, etc) she has the potential for ghosts to start interrupting and interfering with what she's doing. How do you set boundaries with ghosts?
  2. Maybe because they used the term "Karens"? Also, Hi all. I am a long time lurker, but this has brought me out of the shadows. That won't last long, though.
  3. Once upon a time, Heroic Hank met Impish Ivan
  4. Once upon a time, there was a battle between the Nefarious Nitwits and the Brazen Bullies. And every day, each side needed to sacrifice one warrior to the Vengeful Volcano for good fortune in the clash- lest the Volcano swallow them all. Until one day, all of the warriors previously sacrificed suddenly climbed out of the Vengeful Volcano, wondering what had happened. And because of this, the first Nefarious Nitwit - Brazen Bully hybrid was born, and it was thought that David the Brazen Nitwit might usher in a new era of peace. And because of this, battles with weapons ceased and they started having dances, but those soon became dance-offs!
  5. Do we just start over again? Abysinnian
  6. Once upon a time, there was a woman who worked in a coffee shop. And every day she baked the scones and brewed the coffee while daydreaming about sailing on a pirate ship. Until one day, she decided to set sail on the high seas. And because of this, she discovered she had terrible seasickness and was constantly hanging over the side of the dinghy. And because of this, a mermaid pulled her overboard to seek urgent treatment in the underwater city's hospital. And because of this, she became a volunteer at the mermish hospital. Until finally she got her medical degree and became a full fledged doctor.
  7. You can stop reading it. I too like that all the characters are gray. I keep thinking it's got to be leading to something for them to paint the 'pedophile' in a somewhat sympathetic light. I guess we'll see.
  8. Universal <> 100% everyone. It means that "by and large" or a majority, and in a way that crossed geography, class, gender, age and race lines. Merely saying there were those that didn't love him or care does not negate the "universal" description. Of course it doesn't apply to 100%, each and every person, but IMO no one said it did.
  9. The Kardashian kids are NOT being constantly referenced nor are they in every scene. They were in one brief scene of a 60 minute episode. The hyperbole doesn't change that fact. I agree that showing the K family is part of the story. As has been pointed out already Kris was friends with Faye and Nicole. And yes, showing the Kardashian family is analogous to showing the Darden family. It gives more depth to the people involved, and like it or not the Kardashians were involved. Heavily. If seeing a very brief scene of little girl actors is so upsetting, maybe this isn't the show for you. ETA: or what elzin said. On to the chase. I remember seeing this when it happened. First hearing that OJ was in a chase, then going to the TV and being surprised at how slow it was, and then how long it took. I didn't stay riveted to the screen. I rolled my eyes and went on with other things, but when I kept hearing that it was still going on I'd check back in. I kept wondering why the police didn't just overtake the vehicle. They were going so slow, the freeway was empty, they could have easily done so.
  10. That was like 20 minutes ago and lasted all of 20 seconds. Big whoop. I remember this "chase" so well. Seeing this is bringing back all those memories, but it's crazy seeing it from the "inside" so to speak.
  11. So, we're no longer talking about Pet Peeves and instead are talking about experiences with assholes? ;-) Because this just sounds like asshole behavior to me, and not just general people that love something I don't or believe something I don't. I interact with many people every day that don't love all the same things I do, nor believe (or not believe) in the same things but they're not trying to convince/convert anyone. That's asshole behavior no matter which direction it goes.
