  1. Add this to the list. They taped CMA Country Christmas which airs on ABC 12/3 at 9/8c. Here are some pics (1, 2). Looks like they'll be opening the show as well as singing TCTM and Santa Is Coming To Town. More excited about their Charlie Brown Special appearance TMZ saying hello at the airport. Backstage press at CMA country Xmas.
  2. Obsessed with clueless interviewers, always a good laugh. Didn't record any carpet stuff this time so we found what we could from fellow fans. Want to stop the drama but a band member from HF just had to make their fanbase look bad. Where's the love? A Pentaholic who happens to be a HF fan as well got blocked by simply replying to a tweet (which is now deleted). She thought he was praising PTX and said "They were great weren't they?" Next thing you know, blocked and deleted. Childish.
  3. The partnership between Cracker Barrel and PTX is so odd, I love it. OMG! Did you see the video he posted a couple weeks back? Everyone on Twitter was trying to get it reported. Hilarious. 99% of responses on Twitter were positive. Loved the few backhanded compliments though. A couple of watchers described them as "goth" kids. Oh and that whole HF drama thing. We sent out a tweet saying it was an opportunity for PTX, there were many replies and Scott favorited a couple of them. Haha, Scott we see you. He just had to favorite this one. "@ptxnewsandstuff I guess they should've turned the opportunity down because some other group performed that song once??"
  4. I know. It was an opportunity for PTX. Who would turn it down? (HF are probably lowkey disappointed) Lindsey was great. Lot's of Pop/rock/country infusion going on tonight.
  5. So good. Standing ovation for presenters? Did anyone of the performers even get one? It was on Youtube but was taken down instantly, luckily the CMA's twitter account has it up. Going viral maybe? So many people actually think they're country. https://twitter.com/CountryMusic/status/662112337214607361
  6. A lot of the Asian countries have the DVD version. Taiwan's comes with coasters :) All the stats you're seeing are 100% correct. They're all connected to the Nielson/Soundscan peeps and most reports come from them when the media is reporting predictions. PTX is tracking well in the third week, sales only is approx 15k-18k.
  7. Amongst all this craziness, "Can't Sleep Love" is still quietly climbing the charts. Although I have no idea what happened at AC radio but what an achievement, cracking into the Top 40 at Pop radio. Oct 26-Nov 1 20 AC (16) ^31 HAC (35) ^40 Pop (45)
  8. Awesome 2nd week sales. #8 on Billboard w/ 32k and #5 in album sales (24k). Though it would drop dramatically but it's an average drop around the 60-70% mark. Xmas album won't fair well this November, a lot of major albums being released. Like last year where TSwift blocked PTX for #1, they might be hanging around the Top 5 around the December period. Still dominating the Billboard Holiday charts though. Mariah needs to move from that #1. I'm sick of that song. Lots of records being broken in these past two weeks on the charts. Not PTX related but wow at Adele. In the record books, first person ever to sell over 1M in the US in the first week. 1.11million copies of "Hello" in a week. 5SOS, Carrie all broke records too. Nice to see PTX with first #1 a cappella album.
  9. Are you hungry? Scott doesn't know how to use a grater. Nice to see Gareth Malone on the show as well. Nothing but praise for them. Seal calling them "The Pentatonic." He gets off because he makes some cool points about the music industry. https://youtu.be/hy1Uybpx0YM?list=PLTRxhv5hwmixA61Hk41fDjK2CGqEhQLey
  10. 2013 - "Little Drummer Boy" 2014 - "Mary, Did You Know?" 2015 - "The First Noel" on the same trajectory? People are going to love it. Hopefully.
  11. Think it's expired but Hassan periscoped the DVD extras. It included, Tour Wardrobe, a Toronto extended scene? A cake scene. TCTM live, a different OMWH video and a GAG REEL. Was really funny. Hopefully they'll release this #soon. Japan will be selling this separately in November, maybe they'll do the same here. Whoever finally got it onto Netflix. Smart. So many people are discovering their documentary and if your a casual fan, could totally get you to buy their stuff. Inspiring story is basically what people have been saying. The film is currently being distributed by "The Orchard" so hopefully a DVD soon.
  12. "A capella vocal group Pentatonix may also sing as they present their category..." - WinCountry Crossover promo. They ask you, opportunity for the taking, take it. (Plus a few of their friends would probably die from meeting Carrie Underwood) At some Sony Music Germany event they sang the hit song, "Locked Away" with R. City. Not bad. (Cannot with the bloody Periscope videos. They have the option to go landscape and everyone still films vertically. Why?!)
  13. So many things happening. CSL probably only debuted on the Hot 100 (#99) because of the album release. Might just stagnate around that number or even fall out of Billboards 100. The album is actually tracking well for second week sales. Not a dramatic drop for an a cappella band, 28k - 33k. Has been estimated that PTX sold 2.6k albums from Cracker Barrel (#CrackerGate) Walmart has an exclusive TCTM. Includes TCTM + PTXmas Deluxe (no deluxe tracks from TCTM). Still climbing on radio charts. (Dropped a spot on POP radio). AC: ^16 (18) HAC: ^35 (38) POP: - 44 (43)
  14. ^Some preorders aren't redeemed or are canceled because of credit card issues. Think PTX probably had less pre-orders Demi, doesn't matter now but once it's released it just depends if people actually download the album. The album comes out, everyone gets it, same price and all. Hang this on my wall. Adele is back!!! So many artists are releasing their albums in this final quarter (Q4). November is a big month for music. Rhianna, 1D vs Bieber, Adele vs Ariana etc... Anyone releasing, during and after Adele's week. Good luck she's holding that #1 spot for a very long time. (Looks like someone else might be holding that #1 spot from PTX for their Xmas album. Happy if it's Adele.)
  15. Demi fans... so gracious. They were teasing fans on Friday. Now look what happened. Pentaholics on Twitter were optimistic because no official reports were out and for some reason HDD never updated their streams chart. Best feeling right now. The underdogs won! Proving everyone wrong. You can't doubt them now. #1 original album. Grammy. The list of achievements rolls on. Yes, I will throw my phone at them too if anyone says otherwise. Little message from Scott after we tweeted this, "Want to hug every Pentaholic right now. Tears of joy. Day instantly made better. We banded together & the underdogs won. #PTXGoesNumber1" "You guys really are amazing. (insert emojis)" Want to hug all of you on here. We made history. ^_^
  16. GUYS! Being "delusionally optimistic" is the best thing ever. #1. We did it. Pentholics rock. It was so close but we made it. So proud. Pentatonix Scores First No. 1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart "...with slightly more than 98,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 22, according to Nielsen Music." Literally won by hundreds. Early reports were wrong and they kept everything under wraps. Everyone was getting anxious when they didn't release PTX's numbers. WOW.
  17. Think all streaming services count. Read it on some Billboard article, they just recently added Apple Music. HDD wouldn't be thrown, they're literally tied with the music industry. All the behind the scenes stuff to do with music. They just haven't updated their streaming numbers which is really strange. Demi's streaming numbers are out but they haven't released the rest? That article (posted above) was really shady towards her. Over this whole streaming thing. PTX sold more albums, #1 best selling album in the country. Something to be proud of. (Haha but if the reports are wrong and they happen to edge into #1. Awesome.)
  18. Honestly surprised by her sales as well. Hit song and a giant fanbase although her last albums were backed by her Disney show. Just read the FAQ on Billboard and they've changed their chart updates to Tuesday. Two more days until it's official. Someone posted an article on Twitter saying that it's the first time #1 has not been the highest selling album since the Billboard's introduced streaming numbers.
  19. Billboard announces the chart standings on Sunday. Although, HDD has already predicted the numbers, they still for some reason haven't updated their SPS chart. Which is really weird, must be a tech thing or it's really close and unintentionally reported that Demi is #1. Like Scott says, going to be "delusionally optimistic" and say the numbers wrong. We had a Pentaholic analyse the numbers and told us what he predicted. Pretty close, he was 4K below what PTX got but thinks he probably underestimated Demi's streaming numbers. Wonder how much they'll sell this holiday season. Holiday concerts, new EP, see it continuing to do very well. They're heading off to Europe and Japan for promo this week. Non-stop for them.
  20. ^ Gold for Daft Punk & Radioactive. They were doing well before this system was implemented late last year (December I think). PTX are strong album sellers. Happy with that. Never liked this system when it was announced, it just inflates #'s but is a peek into the future. Needs a few tweaks to get it right.
  21. HDD Final Sales Chart is in. PTX sold 86K whilst Demi sold 76K. That's a 10K lead withouts the SEA and TEA numbers. They still think she's won with streaming numbers, bringing her total units consumed to 96K. They have yet to release the SPS chart, still have no idea how PTX compared in that department.
  22. Haha! Been hanging out on Twitter :) Official numbers are out on Sunday but HDD reports that PTX SOLD more than Demi (82K vs 75K). So they're the Best Selling artists in the country right now. However, she pulled ahead with TEA and SPS numbers, 96K. Still don't know PTX's final numbers, wonder how close we were. Still think this system is flawed. You can't measure the streams of an album, you stream a song/single. She had a hit song which probably helped her. So on Billboard they're #2 when they technically sold more than her. (She only sold 75K, more people bought PTX, general public buys what they like to hear. Just saying.) HDD also has an article on PTX. Always been supportive of these A Cappella nerds. "Pentatonix: Can't Sleep Rollout" Cool look into release week and an interview with manager Jonathan and RCA president, Tom. "Our ambition is to break what is essentially new ground by putting an a cappella song into the smash-hit category for the first time in decades." - RCA President/ COO Tom Corson They have an awesome breakdown of PTX's previous releases.
  23. This last minute media blitz by PTX is fun to watch.
