Lemur wasn't good but how is Hydra still there?  Yes, I get it people like seeing people survive who they think are interesting but still...  I hope the payoff is worth it for the people voting to keep them there.

I think Teddy is Jennifer Holliday.

I think Hydra was more entertaining than Lemur, and the fact that there are at least 2 people (who might be comedy legends) in the costume makes it more interesting.

Count me in the group of people who miss the First Impression guesses. I found the reveals amusing.

Did anyone watch the ep last night and can tell us whether there's anything new?

It was almost all new auditions, although they did show a bonus clip of one of the favorites (the perfect looking blonde girl who plays piano) playing an original song. I wasn't paying 100% attention to it and FF'd through a lot of it because many of the auditions were not very good. Some of them went through to Hollywood, although I don't think they'll make it very far. One of the people to audition was the daughter of the drummer from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, although she didn't mention her father, which I appreciated. I didn't like the sound of her voice.

I feel like the guy deserved to go through too - they should have had her step aside and let him sing a solo. Boo.....

I actually preferred the guy over the girl. I thought the girl was a bit too shouty and didn't have that pleasant of a voice. The guy was more subtle.

I really liked the hyper 18 year old guy from Canada. He sounds so much like Tyler Childers, and actually the song he sang was Tyler's version of the song. I hope he can learn to calm down a bit in Hollywood. His accent was so unusual. It was like an Irish person who moved to northern Wisconsin.

Wait, did we know Osferth was Albert's son?

Yes, we’ve known that for a while, although I don’t know when it was revealed. I know in past seasons they’ve shown him being jealous of his half brother or making jokes about being a bastard.

I binged the last season and finished it last night. I think this was one of my favorite seasons, perhaps because the storyline seemed more congruent than others, although I did get confused a few times when they would jump from one town to the next. And some of the deaths were upsetting, but I guess it wouldn’t make sense for all the main characters to live. The one death I’m not crying over is

    Spoiler

Bridas. She was psycho and I wanted her gone a long time ago.

I haven’t read any of the live thread or the posts here, but can anyone tell me if the person eliminated last night was the political figure rumored to be on the show. If yes, I’ll delete the ep and start watching next week. If no, I’ll watch and see if I can figure out who anyone is, though my track record for this show is fairly dismal.

    No, it wasn't him.

  6. At first I thought both dramatic moments were staged, but I guess the coughing fit was real. It's interesting that they decided to show it, since they could have just edited it out. i guess because they wanted the drama! I was watching on my DVR, so I could rewatch the moment when Duff's mask came off, and it totally looked like he did it on purpose. And he was definitely the worst singer, so I can see the show having him do it on purpose, since they knew he was going to get voted off anyway.

I wasn't too impressed with any of the singers, and I have no clues to who any of them are. I was offended on behalf of Ewan McGregor when Jenny thought the dog was him. lol Ewan has a much better voice.

Former Miss America chose to do two songs by previous AI winners, than eagerly agreed she could be country after the judges suggested it. I can't decide if she's more fake or desperate.

I think she just really wanted to go to Hollywood because she also said she can sing anything, and then that's when the judges said she should pick a lane. I thought she was just OK. She seemed a bit shouty. I enjoyed her Disney impersonations though!

I really liked Mike from earlier, who did that version of "Strawberry Wine". I liked the R&B/soul take on that song, it fit really well.

I really liked him but was disappointed that the judges seemed to be pushing him to do country. There was some other singer they did that to as well tonight. Let them sing what they want!

Tonight had a good mix of interesting singers. The girl that sang Adele was great once she opened up her voice. I hope she can handle Hollywood.

I must be one of a few to still be watching this show. I'm entertained by it. And I've started watching Catfish UK too.

After taking a break from the show for a few years, I've started watching again. But so many of the episodes seem so contrived. I know the producers have always manipulated things to make a better show, but I feel like it's gotten worse. The latest Catfish UK episode with the lesbian Scottish couple seemed really fake. Like maybe they made the entire thing up in order to get new followers. Since they knew the account that was sending them gifts, they easily could have reached out on their own to the person asking them who they were, or asking them to stop sending them gifts! And if the woman who was sending nice gifts knew it was creeping them out, why did she continue to do it? None of it really made sense.

Noah's win is sealed for sure. He's another one of those WGWGs in the same lane as Laine Hardy or Kris Allen where, if even I like them, I know there's no chance for anyone else.

I don’t know about that. I wasn’t that impressed with him. But then, I’m not a country fan. I loved Chayce last season, but I didn’t really consider him to be country. They seemed to have a lot of country contestants this episode, which is fine but I just wish they would enunciate! It was a bit ridiculous.

My favorite so far is Cole. I loved his voice and the inflections.

Waste of a character/casting with Jennifer Beales, sadly.

Oh, I totally forgot about her! I was hoping she had somehow survived the blast. I remember Jennifer doing an interview, and it made it seem like her role was going to be bigger. I thought she said her character had a past with Boba, but that wasn't the case. I was expecting them to be possible lovers or at least have more of a connection.

Although I didn't hate this season, it definitely could have been written and thought out better. I think I actually would have preferred a show about a younger Boba, during his pre-A New Hope bounty hunting days. It would have required getting a different actor, but I think it would have been a lot more exciting.

  12. I didn’t think this episode was as bad as some of you thought. Although the action scenes did drag on to long, but that wasn’t a surprise based on who the director was. My favorites bits were with Grogu. I loved Peli being the voice of a lot of fans by saying what a horrible name Grogu is. lol And I just knew he would force leap into Mando's arms when they reunited. I hope he doesn’t use the force too much in order to move around. He’s adorable when he waddles.

I was relieved to see Cobb still alive. I’m guessing he’s going to be the one to take over for Boba.

The poor victim and his loved ones.  I have zero sympathy for Kennedy.  How stupid and reckless.  He should be tried as an adult and deserves to go to prison and any wrongful death lawsuits.

I'm sure he will be. A video stated he was drunk driving, but the articles only mention vaping. The Fox articles says "he was vaping at the time of the crash. He took a hit of the vape pen and started feeling the side effects when driving." I'm a little confused on how he can be charged with a DUI for vaping. Vaping is not illegal, unless he was vaping alcohol or an illegal substance. Either way, it's just a sad situation. I remember really liking his original song that he sang on the show, and thought he had a future as a song writer.

In that same line of thinking, I'd also like to know why we've never seen his feet?  Does the puppet not have feet?  Surely when he's CGI'd, we could have feet?

We caught a glimpse of his feet in this episode, as well as in a few different Mando episodes. Like when Mando picked him up after telling him not to touch the buttons, and in Sanctuary.

I don't know why they didn't do this almost from the start.  Or why they don't dig directly for the "ship shaped anomaly".

I thought it was because they had to find the exact spot to put it, so it would intersect with the supposed treasure vault. That's why they put down all those smaller caissons first. And I thought they have been digging for the ship? But they've just been finding small pieces of wood, which seem like they could be from any number of ships that once docked at the island, or even washed ashore.

It was interesting that part of the episode made it seem like it was the first episode of the season. It confused me at first, I thought maybe I was watching a repeat. lol

  16. I just watched The 15:17 to Paris on HBO Max. I questioned having the real life guys play themselves, because the acting wasn’t great, but seeing them re-enact what they actually went through made it more touching. I was crying for about the last ten minutes. lol I think Spencer got very lucky with the gun jamming. I’m definitely rooting for this team now!

  17. I was a little underwhelmed by this episode. I am one of the few Boba Fett fans here apparently. He's always been one of my fav characters, simply because he was mysterious and had a really cool outfit and jet pack. When I was little, I would sometimes play with my brothers action figures, and he was always one of my favorites. I thought his helmet and jetpack were like a spacesuit, and allowed him to fly around in space like an astronaut. lol I'm not a big fan of Star Wars episodes 1, 2 and 3, and because I had my own head canon about who Boba Fett was and what he looked like, seeing him being fleshed out now is a little strange.

I would have liked to have seen more of Boba getting out of the Sarlacc pit. Fans have been waiting 40 years to see if and how he escaped, so I think they could have spent a little more time on that scene. It seems like he just used his flame thrower to make a hole that he was able to climb out of? I never thought that C3PO's speech meant that someone would stay alive for 1,000 of years, simply that their body would take that long to be digested, which really isn't any worse than a body decomposing in the ground. But even a week of being digested alive is still horrific.

I think it's only been 5 years since ROTJ, but at that time, Boba was a lot thinner, so it was a little strange seeing him with so much more weight on him. I guess they didn't want to CGI him too much.

I can't help but think that the Sand-people's fighting style, as depicted in this episode, was informed by the Maori style, in homage to Temuera Morrison's Maori heritage.

I think it was! They mentioned it a bit in the Disney Gallery: Mandalorian season 2 show. Here's an interview where Tem talks about it.

  18. Guess they’ll have to change the name of the show to The Voices. 😉 I wasn’t surprised GNT won after the mention of so many of their songs charting on iTunes. They definitely are more marketable but I still don’t think the two guys have that great of voices.

It's just that they have fallen into routine and have become talking heads more then judges. Imo.

They're not judges though, like on American Idol, they're coaches. They coach during their one-on-one sessions, so I think once the live performances happen, they're just there to support and compliment and to try to get their team to the next round. I guess it's a been a while, but I don't really remember the coaches giving constructive criticism after live performances in past years. Perhaps Adam did. lol

This was probably my favorite performance of Wendy's. Might be because of the song choice. I feel like she's technically gifted, but I think there's a lack of emotion or connection that happens sometimes when she sings, unlike Paris.
