  1. I find it hard to imagine that they would sign him if he wasn't open to doing a second season. Unless they never planned on doing one. Here's some interesting info about TV ads for The Alienist, which ranked #1 for impressions for the 7-day period through Dec. 31. The attention score is very high! All the ads I saw were very compelling and thrilling. Impressions: 345,806,656 Attention Score: 93.73 Attention Index: 122 (22% fewer interruptions than avg.) Imp. Types: National 91%, Local 6%, VOD/OTT 3% In-network Value: $6,281,267 Out-of-network Est. Spend: $174,604 http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/currency/tnt-s-alienist-gets-tv-s-biggest-promo-push/170853?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  2. I think it's actually suppose to be 10 episodes. Since they spent $5 million an episode, I think they just want to make sure enough people watch it in order to get their money back! Also, I feel like they're kind of trying to rebrand themselves to show that they have cool shows like other networks. Like Sharpie said, there is a sequel book that contains the main characters, so I can definitely see them making a second season if the first season does well.
  3. New trailer/featurette: The Alienist: Cold Blooded Killers Walk Among Us - Season 1 Overview [BEHIND THE SCENES] | TNT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGh1YpDiQ50 The more I see of this, the more excited I get!
  4. I don't think they have been censored, they've just been focusing on other parts of the story. Although I think the boy prostitutes are a main part of the story, from what I know of it (I haven't read the book), but I just can't imagine them editing out those parts. The show is on cable, and unfortunately, it's historically accurate.
  5. Even though they'll probably never find the big treasure, I still find it interesting when they find small things that are peeks into the past history of the island. And it's cool that some of the guys can tell right away what something is when the look at it. Most people wouldn't be able to look at part of spoon and know when it was from and what exactly it was made of. It makes me want to go out and buy a metal detector! Also, Dave's constant comments about finding gold are so laughable. I think he's going to be the most disappointed if they don't find anything. For some of the other guys, I think it's a lot about the hunt and finding the truth, but for him, it seems to be all about TREASURE!! Also, did he have a stroke? I noticed half of his body didn't seem to be working very well. I didn't notice that other seasons.
  6. I think she used multiple rocks. Most probably fell out in the water, but that one stayed in her pocket, and finally fell out when they put her body on the stretcher. It looks like she drowned in water that wasn't even up to her shoulders, which I thought was odd. But I guess if she was weighted down, it would make more sense.
  7. I actually think the actress looks older than Colin, so that made no sense to me. I was expecting her to be a teenager when he found her.
  8. Not really the same result, since Alice would have grown up knowing that she had a good mother who loved her. Not one that just used and abandoned her. I think a lot of Alice's issues are due to her mother. Also, I feel like having Whook sleep with the actual Rapunzel and then killing her off shortly after would have totally tarnished the character and her story with Flynn. She's a fan favorite for a lot of people.
  9. I thought it was just a rock. One that she used to weigh herself down, and which Andy picked up and saved and obsessed over. It's a constant reminder of her death. I hope Andy throws it back into the ocean at some point.
  10. I like the lines being written for Alice, and the way she delivers them. They're quite interesting and almost poetic. Like her line about feeling like she's being ripped from the world because she has no one to tether her to it.
  11. I'm probably going to piss off a lot of people, but I have zero issues with Gothel being under a glamour spell when she slept with Whook. She's meant to be a villain, and it's no worse than what other villains, and sometimes heroes, on this show have done; rip out hearts, murder innocent people, kidnap kids to eat them...

  13. Wow, those kids are going to need some serious therapy after watching their foster dad gut a women in front of them. I think it's odd that none of the adults tried to stop him, they all just stood there watching. The moment when Andy came completely possessed was pretty cool. And when the priests were coming at him, the smug little smile on his face was pretty creepy. He's going to be hard to exorcise I think.
  14. I think Peter is real. I've seen nothing to convince me otherwise, and he'd be a pretty powerful spirit if he could pilot a boat. :) Also, why would he help Marcus find out the truth about the island and help him get his faith back? Unless, he's a good spirit? uh oh... But really, I think he's just there so that Marcus will have to make a choice at the end of the season. Does he continue to be an exorcist, or live a more normal life?

  16. That was really sad about Drake, but that was a nice tribute at the end. Loved the shot of him running down the road. It's too bad they still have to have that stupid "one more must die" thing during the opening credits. I always thought that part was dumb and overly dramatic.
  17. The worst part of the episode for me was the fake honeycomb type holes in Andy's chest. I had to cover my eyes and look away. I have this thing called Trypophobia, where small holes or bumps creep me out. Just thinking about it now makes my skin crawl. I'm glad Marcus was finally able to "hear" God. Hopefully he gets back to the island ASAP. I'm guessing that they'll figure out that it was the demon that made Truck do what he did, so he won't get sent away. Also, if all the kids, and Rose, are around when the exorcism takes place, I think it will help to bring them all together. It'll be a great bonding experience! :P
  18. I also thought the frog was going to be a man! I didn't mind the Tiana flashbacks. She's probably my favorite out of the new characters. She deserves better than Jacinda. I still think there might be something there between her and Whook. One line that I thought was clever was Victoria calling Ralph to "wreck it". That made me chuckle.
  19. I meant more that Colin's acting skills were being underused. Rogers hasn't really had any interesting storylines which required serious acting. I doubt it's very satisfying for Colin as an actor. At least he gets to work with Bobby, who I know he enjoys working with.
  20. So we're all pretty sure that Alice is WHook's daughter now? Because when I mentioned it after the first episode, no one seemed on board, and everyone thought it would be Rapunzel. LOL Alice really is manic, even in FTL. She's fun to watch. I actually teared up a bit when Belle and Rumple were dancing to Beauty and the Beast. I don't know if it's because I thought it was touching, or if it was just because I knew what was coming for Belle. So now we're going to have a love triangle with Henry, Ivy and Jacinda? BORING Why is Colin being so underused? I hope his storyline gets more interesting.
  21. I just noticed there's no episode this Friday because of the World Series. ? The next episode looks like a good one, too. The title is "There But for the Grace of God, Go I".
  22. Ugh this show is so good! I wish more people were watching it, but it's getting low ratings like last year. The shadowy figure over Rose's bed was super creepy! I thought Grace was a good ghost, but now it seems like she's probably the demon and was just manipulating Andy. I think the kids have noticed him talking or interacting with her, because Verity said they should just let Andy "do his thing" when he got up and left the room.
  23. So was that Rupunzel with the gross, messy hair that Lady T has chained up? I'm guessing her hair is magical like it was in Tangled, and she can bring Anastasia back to life. I'm also guessing she's Whook's daughter. They're all I really care about at this point. Whook's eyebrows sure were getting a workout in the flashbacks! Are they actually going to ship him and Tiana? I never saw her movie, but I thought she had her own prince? I really can't find anything to like about Cinderella. She's just so blah, and a little bit of a not-so-great person at times. I'm still having a hard time understanding the actress's dialogue too. I wish she would enunciate better. Anyway, the show has done a really bad job at showing us exactly what her and Henry see in each other to make them fall in love.
