I’m so glad I had stopped watching ER by that point because I was never a big Abby fan. When she started getting all the airtime I left. Susan was a much more interesting character (and better actress) than sad sack Abby.

I like Hedy, too. I thought the speech by Abe was beautiful, but I assume it’s the last time we see him alive. Of course Midge won’t hear how much he respects her.

I remember being out of town one weekend so husband had the four then-littles by himself. A group of well-meaning friends dropped off a dinner “to help him out.” When I got back he said that while he appreciated the love behind it, he didn’t know which was more insulting:
1. That he traveled all the time and no one ever thought to send me a meal
2. That the friends didn’t think he could handle one measly weekend alone with his children.

Suddenly I find myself needing Jamie and Roy’s sister to date.
Regarding Rupert’s humanization, in one way I do think we needed to see why Rebecca was ever attracted to Rupert. We know he love-bombed her, but there had to be more to it. This episode gave a glimpse into why she stayed with him so long, at least for me.
Van Damme’s expression when Dani crushed the chips had us cackling over here!

Jamie’s smile when Phoebe said he is Roy’s best friend was the absolute best!
Loved Mae and Keeley’s scene. Loved that Keeley made Roy read his note to her.
Poor Sam.
Feeling a little too neatly tied up.
Maybe the next episode will have more Ted.

In the 60 minutes interview, they mention the falling out, and in Susie’s roast they keep calling Midge “she who must not be named.” Then at the end of the roast they show a final video, and it’s Midge reminiscing about the old times and asking Susie to meet so they can bury the hatchet. Susie immediately leaves the roast and orders her assistant to track down Midge’s number.

Nate’s problem isn’t Rupert. We saw Nate’s true colors long before Rupert whispered in his ear.
Loved Will’s joining Roy and Isaac’s conversation. Not the first time he wasn’t noticed, but now he is confident enough to speak up. His smile said it all.

Terrific episode! Of course Nate is rude to the underling until he realizes it’s Jade. Still don’t care about him; not cheering that he did the bare minimum.
The Richmond relationships were all awesome. And yes I loved Roy’s press conference and his channeling Ted with the story telling.

I didn’t think the language was realistic at all until my husband watched a couple episodes of the golf documentary. Those golfers seem quite attached to the f-bomb.

Here’s an idea: maybe Rupert sabotages their relationship by talking to Jade in front of Nate about how awesomely ruthless Nate is (“You picked yourself a winner; we love his killer instincts here.” Names some examples.). Jade realizes by Nate’s reactions that he indeed did the things Rupert mentioned, is completely turned off, and dumps him, making him uncomfortable to go back ever to the restaurant. That’s the wake up call he needs. Maybe.

I think it’s hilarious and telling that Lennon first thought Paul write the song for him.

DS, DH, and I were having the same debate. DS thought Isaac is a man of few words who gave Colin a nod of respect while we thought it was a processing nod and ambiguous ending. Even a small pat on the shoulder as he handed back the phone would have gone a long way with me.
I’ve thought this show usually rose above these kinds of manufactured moments to create tension; they definitely dinged Issac’s character by having him react poorly, especially after essentially stealing Colin’s phone from him. I noticed he didn’t chase after Roy and Jamie and demand theirs.
