  1. This season isn’t holding my attention the way the others have.  It’s my first one not to binge so hard to say if that is my problem or if the writing isn’t as sharp.  I pretty much enjoy the episode as I watch it, but afterwards I’m not left satisfied.

  2. I was rooting for Tiafoe, but Shelton reminds me of those young athletes who win because they aren’t experienced enough to know they are supposed to lose.  I don’t typically like braggadocio, especially on the court, but I hope he takes it to Djokivic and doesn’t get overwhelmed by the moment.

I didn’t get to watch Coco’s match, but the score suggests a bloodbath, which leads me to scratch my head at Ostapenko’s remark that she expected more from Gauff.

don't think anyone was saying they intended to be offensive. I think that what is ridiculous is the implication that you have to set out to offend someone in order to be offensive

Exactly.  I don’t think they sat around asking, “How can we offend people?”.  But how was it they sat around describing the proposed episode and no one said, “Hey, wait a minute . . .”?

This is problem when they are hoping that no one will ask why Leia/Luke/Han/etc are not mentioned or present.

I don’t typically follow all these different worlds, but I joined DH for this episode, and my first question was why no one was talking about Luke!!  Glad to know I’m not alone.

I do get annoyed in just about all detective shows when people are SOOO offended to even be asked questions about a crime.

    THIS!

I don’t think Charles can have two murderous love interests so agree it’s probably just a red herring.

  6. Saw Madison’s interview with Chrissy and the other woman whose name I have forgotten.  First question from Chrissy was about her engagement and giant ring.  They asked about the match but also about renovating the new house she bought and how her fiancé coach make it work.  They ended the interview with “congratulations, especially that ring!”  It was horrific.

Joy's response to Charles's questions about the lipstick made here seem pretty shifty.

If she knew nothing about the lipstick message, then one would think she would be interested in hearing that a threatening message was left with her lipstick, and eager to help figure out who did it - instead of immediately acting threatened by the questions.

Yes, Joy was ridiculous.  No one wants to be accused of murder, but her very specific lipstick was found in his dressing room with a horrible note so asking her about it wasn’t out of bounds.  Her behavior was already so manic that Charles was uncomfortable in his own place.  Of course he hadn’t talked to her about it first; her interactions were odd and steamrolled him.  I hope he enjoyed the remaining cake samples and considered himself lucky, though something tells me I am supposed to think he should be groveling to get her back.

Deion Sanders generates a lot of hype, but he just may be that guy.

That game was amazing!  I assume both teams will be focusing on defense this week.

I keep trying to like Deion, but then he says something stupid and the hill gets harder for me to climb.  I’m rooting for Colorado this year, though.

I can only imagine what it looks like from behind.

Good point; I’ve only seen the front so far.

I’m a fan, but totally understand those who aren’t.  I still say, though, that the video of her singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in a Q&A at ComiCon is one of the best things I’ve ever heard.

  10. Ross and Monica got several decent partners outside the six:  Julie, Emily, Mona, Pete, Richard (which was a healthy relationship once you get past the age difference).  It never felt like the others fared as well.

  11. It reminds me of Jason Alexander going after the actress who played his fiancée on Seinfeld - never a good look for the complainer.

In a perfect world David Schwimmer will post something nice about Helen.

  12. I assume Mabel was living rent free in her aunt’s apartment, and she was in charge of renovating it.  I assume she got paid handsomely for that.  Maybe the podcast is making some money as well after 2 seasons?  That’s my handwave for how she can afford to live without a roommate.

  13. Anyone else bothered that when Joy declared herself the omelette and wanted Charles in the bedroom for the antelope, he left the stove on?  I might have screamed at the TV, which my pups did not appreciate.

We’ve seen Oliver be so nice to other actors on his set;  why not Charles?

  14. Blast from the past, but the baseball movie The Rookie:

Jimmy Morris’ dad is shown to be the biggest jerk who completely dismisses his son’s feelings about everything.  Borderline abusive.  First time he ever shows up for one of his son’s games is when he finally makes it to the major leagues.  Meanwhile, Jimmy’s son has been rooting for his dad to follow his dream the entire time and his wife has been amazing in supporting him.

So Jimmy has his major league debut and gives the game ball to . . . his dad.  Oh, hell no!!

  15. I tried to watch the men’s, but Tim was rage-inducing.  I don’t need a running commentary of what the odds are that a mistake will be a .1 vs .3 deduction.  He’s so busy still hypothesizing the judge’s decision on the past trick that he can barely mention the next trick, unless of course they made a mistake on that one, too.  I gave up and turned it off.

I also hate It's a Wonderful Life there was nothing wrong with the alternate life George Baily wanted to lead.

Wait, was I supposed to hate the life he wanted?  I don’t like the movie, but I thought the point was that your life can still be wonderful even if it isn’t the life you planned.

  18. The Guardians are really a special organization!

    From their Facebook page:

We are proud to announce that the Progressive Field bleachers will be named after Johns Adams starting Opening Day 2024.

John's drum will also be sent to Cooperstown where it will be displayed for the foreseeable future.

    We miss you, John! ❤️
