  1. I think it's really telling about how these people view food/their weight when they talk about their childhoods. So many of them say "I didn't struggle with my weight as a kid" but the accompanying pictures are of a pretty chubby kid. I know a lot of kids grow out of that and all, but it's interesting to hear their reflections.
  2. He did make a lot of sacrifices for her!
  3. She is finally sounding more together. Interesting. And, yeah, he's doing drugs.
  4. Spot on. This is what I assumed, too.
  5. DIDN'T HAVE TIME FOR THE DOCTOR?! You aren't doing anything?!!!!!
  6. This is absurd. There are options. Go to the deli at a grocery and pick up a rotisserie chicken or some sliced turkey, get grilled nuggets from Chick-Fil-A, come on. Every major grocery store these days has a hot bar and/or salad bar. This isn't rocket scientist. She's so mean! Yelling at everyone, claiming no one is helping. Ugh. I wouldn't be able to take this if I was around her. The mom needs to take the kids out of this situation, even if she's not great herself.
  7. I wonder if he is even less optimistic about this one. I would be.
  8. 23. Years. Old. And did she just say 684 is 3x a normal weight?!
  9. How did she even have the second child...from conception to birth...? They're all so nasty to one another.
  10. Man, these people are mean to one another.
  11. Oh my word the list of creatures they've stuffed in the car... the smell.... Marion, OH
  12. I think it was Grippos - local brand of chips. She had them in her cart I believe...(I've since moved from the area and have an eagle eye for them)
  13. I don't think I've ever seen an ...apron like this. This is as unsanitary as Penny, jeez.
  14. I'm thinking she may have some developmental issues as well.
  15. -684 lbs -Age 23 -Can't fit in the bathroom door --- where on earth does she go to the bathroom?? I feel bad for this girl as obviously she isn't even living a full life but wow. I have a feeling about this one.
  16. Totally agree. I think he felt that they understood the rules, were following them pretty well, and that they were engaged/smart/dedicated enough to take it to the next level. I think we're all used to him just asking the family to stop bringing home Taco Bell or whatever that it was weird to hear him ask the family to stop helping so much. But, I think he saw that Diana, the niece and co. were smart enough to see the point he was making, and that the niece was still dedicated enough to stick around a bit longer and help Diana make the transition into owning her own diet more as she got more mobile, more used to it, etc.
  17. That's so great she is finding something to give herself to and to be committed to - I think that must help so much with the desire to stay on track if you have something that gives your life more value. She seems like a sweet person.
  18. I think some people forget that they likely can't show the real ins-and-outs of the relationship with the therapist, and that is unlikely they meet once and never speak again (unless it's a person on the show who is refusing to follow the rules). Due to privacy concerns and likely the therapist's own interests in maintaining their professional reputation, we probably see a glimpse and there's WAY more that goes on behind the scenes. Showing us one tiny clip of the interaction also helps TLC create the narrative that a therapist helps these patients deal with the surgery without making it about that part of the process completely. I think the niece seems very nice, but also just a worn-down person. I think she cares a great deal about her aunt and I get the sense she's over being the caregiver for everyone with those tiny kids, in a house that people never leave (because Diana can't and the husband works from home). I don't think she's a bad person, or tired of dealing with Diana in an uncaring way. But I think she's probably hitting her limits, so to speak, with the situation in a lot of ways and she's done more than most people would to help. I think Diana seems to understand that. Diana is one of the most likeable. I didn't think she'd stick to anything and it'd be another episode where the surgery comes in the last 15 minutes of the episode. Granted, she's had some help. But her attitude seems really positive compared to many others. I totally agree with the person above who said the depression is likely related not only to the former issues but the loss of food as a coping mechanism - plus moving! It's a lot for any person to deal with, especially someone physically isolated. I think Diana's one of the better people featured.
  19. I think Davina is probably a bit difficult to get along with. I personally wouldn't mesh well with the way she analyzes things to death. But, I don't think she is a bad person and she seems to have gotten a worse edit than Sean. They were always depicted as her confronting him and him apologizing or backtracking, but it never really showed his actions or when he may have brought up problems with her to the same degree.
  20. I think it will depend on exactly how the contract was written! Was she guaranteed in contract to be paired with someone whose background was thoroughly vetted or whatever, or so on.
  21. Filing a false police report is a pretty serious allegation...while I think it's possible (though it's not my opinion) that Jessica exaggerated events or went overboard in getting this, but to say there's a conspiracy to waste police resources is going pretty far. And in terms of the posting on IG after Valentine's - I think all the posts with the girls were coming from all of them, and the Jessica posts about Ryan were 100% required by the contract I am sure. I am friends with a former Bachelor contest (well, winner, actually) who had to post things about them being a couple after the last episode and before the After the Final Rose, she had to post things weekly about being excited for the episodes, etc. etc.
  22. All this awfulness about Ryan D has really made us all forget that Sean is apparently super terrible, too.
  23. I can see your point, but every single thing is public because it is all up for being filmed. Are they not supposed to talk about serious issues because they could be aired? And when she brought up the tattoo/piercing thing in the restaurant - well, if I were dating someone like Ryan who has huge anger issues, I would want to have a serious conversation in a public place where he may be less likely to completely lose it.
  24. I rewatched the whole season to see if I missed something that everyone sees in Ryan and I just don't. She purposefully tried to make him look bad when they were filming. - I don't think she's perfect by any means...but you do understand that everything is edited for TV, right? So the producers and editors pick and choose what moments to put together in order to tell a story. Yes, she had the conversation in front of cameras, but she had nothing to do with what was shown at the end of the day. Every single thing we know about these people's interactions comes from carefully chosen and edited information that has been packaged to tell us a certain story.
  25. I think the spoilers about the couples from the "inside source" seem to have a least a basis in fact. It all rings really true. Re: Ryan D First of all, I think it is very plausible he uses cocaine. I think it's funny the way some reacted to that rumor - you don't have to look like a strung-out junkie from Intervention to regularly use (and abuse) drugs. Especially a drug like coke. Based on his personality, I would not be surprised at all if it is true. Now, whether or not he was a casual user or a complete addict, that's a different story. That could easily be exaggerated. Same with the dealing rumor - he could have sold to a friend or something, which was blown up into an accusation of "dealing" - not saying they are that different, but the implication or tone of each is pretty different. Second, I think either "first 48" translation makes sense. Regardless of whether or not he meant it as a threat, it was pretty stupid to go on social media when you were just served papers demanding you stay away from another person and bash that person in any way. Third, I feel like the fake IG account could have come from anyone at all! New York is huge, people watch this show, and I don't think it has to be her. Or, alternatively, it could even be someone like a friend at work who thought it would be funny to do something to "get back at" this guy. Fourth, I feel like it is very obvious this guy was not a good fit for this show and it proves to me that there were some serious issues in the way they vetted this season's cast. From his very questionable attitude toward women, to his obvious anger problem, it just seems like they HAD to have seen some of the bad sides of his personality and yet they still cast him! I could see the "traditionalist" vs "career woman" couple being interesting, but that's not really what his attitude problem toward women was - he genuinely seems to see women as sluts and people to use. In regards to Sean and Davina - I think they probably were a bad match which brought out bad sides to both of them. I probably wouldn't like Davina IRL because of her super analytical way of breaking down every thought, and I wouldn't be able to stand Sean's personality. But I feel like she definitely got a worse edit. For instance, the crying on the sled? Well, yeah, it seemed like a little abrupt and weird, but then again, we have no idea what was edited out of the conversations and events of the day leading up to the event and maybe she really did have a sort of "breakdown" type moment. I'm surprised all of these people don't have more of those, honestly, because even if they are good people in this to really have an interesting experience, they are pushed out of their comfort zone in a lot of ways. I don't think it makes her a bad or crazy person. He seemed to me to be the type of person who just says or does whatever makes a situation more comfortable for them in that moment without any consistency. Like, whenever Davina did confront him about her feelings of disconnect between the two of them, he was SO quick to be overly understanding and apologetic to just calm her down and move on, rather than actual deal with any of it. Same with the whole moving deal. It also was a huge side-eye moment for me that he had just been in a relationship and expecting a child and then immediately went on this show - sort of strange, to me. I think all the evidence online of his bowling league is pretty hilarious too, since people had been questioning him from day one.
