PS: I love Monet (who doesnt?) but moving forward, I dont think she would pass next week anyway. Its gonna be pretty much a runway challenge with two distinct looks and Monet has being the one with the least potential to wow us on the runway. The 5 meaining tho, all had their wow moments there.

I completely agree with this. I think Monet is going to do great with the publicity from the show and absolutely has the potential to be a long-time favorite, but the final runway is for glamour and perfectly executed looks.

And I strongly suspect that Ru was expecting Eureka to beat Kameron easily - and that the non-elimination was pulled out to save someone intended for the final 3. (Like when Ru gave Yara Sofia and Carmen Carrera a Spanish-language version of Mickey to lip sync to, and Carmen nonetheless won.)

There are six guests next week, so it was either going to be a double shantay or they were going to bring someone back.

I love LOVE Monet's talking heads. She has such a fun, relaxed attitude. I wish she's step up her runway a bit because I don't want her to go!

  3. Has anyone else tried to watch this on demand and had technical issues? It kept doing this annoying thing where it would suddenly cut to a scene a few minutes ahead for about 5 seconds, then maybe a commercial would start, then it would cut back to where I was. And then it stopped entirely with 10 minutes left.

Glad to see Lady Silence again, and the hunky dude from the first episode.

OK, I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that guy and though "How you doin'?"

There's no reason for her to keep money with a hedge fund, which is inherently risky.  Despite what Axe would have you believe, studies have consistently shown it's better to invest with low-expenses index fund rather than actively-managed funds like those from Axe Capital or other hedge funds.

Except Axe Cap is a shady hedge fund that breaks the law, so it likely outperforms clean funds.

And regarding what Lara's worried about, from what I've personally seen with people who have just about as much money as Axe, it's never enough. They always want more and are looking for any way they can to get it. I've even discussed with my husband about how the dialogue among the fund people on this show rings false to me because the rich people we know only talk about two things--making money and how to spend it. They don't know quirky little facts or obscure historic anecdotes.

Holy shit, until the dinner scene, I thought that was all just one of Barry's fantasies! I thought Barry killing Chris would be the dark crescendo of the season, but this might be even worse.

Oh I think it's way worse. With Chris Barry could at least tell himself that he was doing it to protect Chris's wife and son. Killing Janice was pure self preservation for Barry.

The danger is that Stan realizes that this is not a real breaker box.  It doesn't (can't) turn anything on or off.

I never thought about this before, but that means there's a real breaker box somewhere else. Isn't it more suspicious to have two breaker boxes in your house than another way to hide your spy stuff? I'm sure the second one is hidden but if they had experts really combing over the house the wiring would give away its location. Or am I just the daughter of an electrical engineer who has an unusual interest in that sort of thing?

Didn't Janice the cop go over Gene's apt. or house at some point? I don't remember. If so, was it the kind of place a guy with money would have? He does drive a big black SUV. Lol, none of this is important.  Maybe the writers overlooked his backstory. I dunno, he just seems like one of them hack actors who had a few, as you say, standing in line roles, and then opens up an acting school. However, maybe that's a stereotype fostered in me from movies and tv shows in the first place, lol.

He had a pretty nice house. I could see him as having a few good roles in 70s or 80s, using the money to buy real estate, and then using small parts and the acting class to pay for upkeep and taxes.

I feel like Thomas Middleditch really had fun this episode. He's just as wild and funny as the rest of the cast but as Richard he has to constantly reign it in. So the dance, the "Kiss my piss", and the epic bowl drop of ice cream were just fabulous.

I agree. It was a really different feeling to the character and Thomas did a great job with it.

Sounds like she was but there was a real stigma attached to free lunch.

I don't think this was the case for Ms. Cracker, but when I qualified for free lunch in high school I told my mom not to apply for it because I was too embarrassed to do it. When you're already trying to hide your economic status in school having literal proof of it can just seem like too much.

  10. This is complete and utter speculation on my part, but I think it would be a fun little twist at the ending to see that Hickey somehow made it out alive and stole another identity to settle in North America somewhere. I don't know that the show would go that far with a fictional interpretation of the story, but I think it'd be interesting.

  11. It will be interesting to see what happens at DragCon this weekend with The Vixen. A lot of the panels end up talking about the latest episode*, and her being so bitter is bound to come up. She could also go a long way to redeeming herself if she's generally gracious to fans. I give the "villains" some benefit of the doubt because filming the show is so isolating and mentally tough we could be seeing their worst self on TV, but who knows.

Although I wouldn't be too sad if she didn't win and comes back for AS4 (which I really hope will be delayed for a few years to let the talent pool rebuild and the bad taste from AS3 to get washed out) just so we could see her sing opera in drag for the talent show.

This season is so strong the S4 cast could be 75% S10 queens and I wouldn't be mad! Although I think Miss Vanjie is pretty much a lock for S11 first.

*I've never been, just from what I've seen in the videos that get posted.

First thing that came to mind.  You have a thumb drive with millions (billions) in bitcoin.  And you've never heard of a safe deposit box?

And yep - plot line straight from Big Bang Theory.  The fact that two different shows have the same plot arc involving bitcoin makes me wonder if there wasn't a news story out there that I glossed over about someone who misplaced their thumbdrive with millions on it.

I found a few different stories, but I'm not sure if they're all referring to the same person:

    Did Tesla fund this season?

Not Silicon Valley, but I used to live in Seattle and Teslas became a big deal over the years I lived there. People didn't use to use cars to show off their tech money, but Teslas made that sort of thing more socially acceptable.

  13. Next week will be interesting with The Vixen still there. I thought at first when she watched the video from her mom that she was going to snap out of her rage and calm down a bit, but then nope, she's right back to being furious. It sucks because she's pushing everyone away and making them enemies when they don't have anything against her personally.

Hopefully with fewer people around we get to see Kameron come out of her shell a bit more--she seems really sweet and funny. It's going to be a tight race for Miss Congeniality this year!

On a side note, it really is easy to forget how pretty Bianca Del Rio is because she’s such a shady and funny queen.

I went back and watched the Sissy That Walk video after Adam Rippon danced to it, and I was really struck by how pretty she was and a good dancer, too.

Really stupid observation: What’s with all the bright blue clothes i.e. suits, sweaters, sports jackets, etc. the men are dressed in? What man that you know wears that color?  I assume it has a meaning. The meaning escapes me.

Thank you! I could maybe see it on Wags, but it looked completely odd on Connerty.

  15. This episode was a bit meh for me, which I think goes to show how strong this season is. None of the improv performances stood out in a really good or really bad way, and same for the runway. I'm fine with Eureka winning but with some editing manipulation and few different comments from the judges I'm sure someone else would have looked just as good.

There were two nice emotional moments in my opinion. When Eureka and The Vixen were talking at their stations I thought it was very mature and they were both showing their vulnerability, which was obviously tough for them. On Untucked I also really liked hearing Mayhem be so positive about the challenge, and Blair had a sweet comment on that where she thanked Mayhem for saying that it was the most fun she'd had because it made her realize that, too. Maybe the queens are just excellent actresses this season, but both of these just struck me as sincere, which is something that's been missing the last few seasons.

And that woman Ira wants to marry? I dont even know why anyone would want to marry someone they KNOW only wants them for their money.  Ira is a smart good looking guy.  He can have his pick of women.  I just needed to see more about that woman to understand why Ira wants to marry her.

Because he wants a trophy wife so money is going to be very important to any woman Ira wants to marry. He doesn't want some girl with four roommates who shops at TJ Maxx and uses drug store skincare.

I thought this episode was actually a setup for Guilfoyle to exit the show too (since they were showing him as being annoying, avoiding meetings, putting the company at legal risk), and I actually said out loud: "If Guilfoyle is leaving too, I'm out". And for a second with the ripped-apart fridge, I thought we were supposed to think he'd lost his mind.

I kind of wonder if Kumail is going to leave since he's a little higher profile now and has a few other projects going on.

I like Blair more and more. He seems stable and I really hope that he doesn't change. At the beginning of the episode I was thinking: what is he, like, 12? Then Ru mentioned it to him. He is my current favourite.

I've been super impressed with Blair. For being so young in what must be a tiny drag community she's really polished. I thought her Martian dress was probably the most well-crafted of any of the looks even if the concept wasn't crazy.

I love having the mini challenges back every episode! With so many funny queens this season they've been great to watch.

Eureka was much better this episode, and I feel a little bad for wishing an early exit upon her last week. (However, I reserve the right to change my mind again if she starts back up with the whining.)

I completely agree. She was funny, her runway look was incredible and her attitude was way better. I don't mind this Eureka sticking around. The judges are going to have some tough decisions coming up.

Mayhem has been working too long to shut down like that.

This bugged me about Mayhem. The judges are all rooting for her, she's friends with some of the most popular contestants in RPDR herstory, and she's super polished. She can stand up for herself with little risk.

I agree with Michelle and @ElectricBoogaloo that Blair's dress looked a little cheap, which is a shame because I think if she turned it on the runway she could have won. Mind you both of the challenges played to her personality, but she did fantastic in both of them. Her personality also just seems so genuine and sweet.

It was an odd question, I thought.  I think the more obvious question for Paige to Elizabeth is "Have YOU ever used sex to get information?" ... possibly leading into some understanding of how her parents marriage works/worked.

Would she even conceive of that though? And I would honestly assume that Paige has no idea that her parents were assigned to marry each other. It would naturally lead to questions about them being told to have her, which would understandably mess with her head.

Is Stan working on Marion Barry?

I wondered that too! I just did some quick googling and the infamous video of him smoking crack was filmed in January 1990, but was the result of an FBI investigation. So maybe Stan is helping to lay the groundwork for that.
