  1. I haven't posted here in years (kinda walked away since all my favorite reality shows took a turn for the worse), but hearing about Sarah's death made me come back. She was absolutely in my top-five all-time cast members and the scene in the finale with Sarah, Cynthia, Joe and Mike (where Mike is giving Sarah shit (or "thirsting," haha) about her bending over to pick up her hairbrush by the pool in her bikini without bending her knees)? It's the best scene of the season and one of the best scene on the entire show. They really ended up being the only true friends from that season, and Sarah ended up being the caretaker of Leroy, too. Everything about her was selfless, kind and cool. A Real World Homecoming season for Miami was the one I wanted the most, but without Sarah, I don't really care anymore. This one really sucks. It actually feels like losing a friend, especially since we were pretty close to the same age. And a lot of my best friends were skaters and snowboarders (pros, even), so she reminded me of them so much.
  2. I'm pretty sure they only showed it on "The Shit They Should Have Shown."
  3. Not to mention that "The Roadmaster" went on to become Dwight Schrute.
  4. It's Juliet Litman doing the interviewing and it's a pretty straightforward interview.
  5. "Real World: Hollywood" will be the next marathon ... not this weekend, but next.
  6. "Real World: Denver" -- the season that gave my television genital herpes -- coming to MTV Classic on Oct. 22-23.
  7. Buzzfeed has done an oral history of the Challenge. Some interesting stuff, indeed.
  8. Does the special in question end with the Miz and Malik running down the beach and hugging each other? I haven't seen it in almost 14 years, but that's the one I was talking about.
  9. I put together episode guides for all three BMP shows back around the time of the Real World Awards Bash in 2008, basically because I wanted to make sure I had collected all of the unofficial episodes and one-off specials on VHS tapes (back in the day, of course), because clip shows and reunions still very often get left off future DVD releases/iTunes/Amazon Prime (and, as we just found out with Key West, the marathons on MTV Classic). I used TV.com as a resource; the website has been revamped since then (some stuff is missing now), but it remains a pretty good resource. Anyway, I have two hook-up specials: One aired during RW Chicago around April 15 or 16, 2002, hosted by Syrus and Becky ("The Real World Hook-ups, Heartbreaks and Happily Ever Afters."). The other ("Real World/Road Rules: 19 Degrees of Reality TV Hookups") was hosted by Kevin and Malik of RW: Back to New York. This archived website lists the airdate as Feb. 14 or 15, 2003 -- which makes sense, re: Valentine's Day.
  10. You'd think we'd get Seattle next since the new season about to premiere is also in Seattle.
  11. Are the four states D.C., New England, Golden State, and East Carolina? They have sports teams! (tm Joey Tribianni)
  12. I always remember the, I think, Civil War re-creation mission, where the Roadies got awakened at the buttcrack of dawn, and Effie just kept saying "I'm up ... I'm UP! OK?" like a little kid who doesn't want to go to school, and Timmy telling the guy running the mission, "Um, she's not fighting this war until she gets her coffee." Pretty funny.
  13. It's been a long-ass time since someone referenced a BMP scene I don't remember. Christ, I NEED a RR: Europe marathon! There have been 31 seasons of "The Real World," there were 14 seasons of "Road Rules," and there have been 28 seasons of "The Challenge" (29 if you count the Spring Break Challenge, which I do, to a certain extent -- it's as much a Challenge season as "Road Rules All-Stars" was). That's close to 75 seasons of Bunim-Murray television content. And without questions, RR: Europe is by far the season I saw the least of. Back in the day, when they would show marathons all the friggin' time on MTV, this was the season that still rarely got shown. A marathon HAS to happen.
  14. I doubt we'll ever get the casting specials. I'm pretty sure the casting specials were always made by MTV, while the show was produced by BMP and distributed by MTV.
