My garbage can has a swing lid, which hasn’t been a problem before! It seems since November the cats have been extra mischievous.

My mom is doing better thank you. I’m arranging her follow up appointments, and she is eating and drinking water again. She has been be on a renal diet, so she spent the day researching that, she also napped. She gave me quite a fright, usually when she’s had to go to the hospital it’s been scheduled!(besides her bowel obstruction April 2021).

I'm so glad your mom is doing better! And the cats must really feel comfortable with you that they can explore.  Also, how do I edit my post? I left a letter off doing and I'd like to correct it.

I cross posted this in the pets thread but I know we have a lot of cat lovers here.

So, lately I’ve been tying up the garbage bag at night because the cats have been knocking it over and trying to get inside, and I don’t want them or Cosmo to eat something toxic. Well I just took out the trash, and was throwing away bits and bobs (2022 calendars, an old lunch box) and when I came out of the shower look what I found!

That's one cute face!  In our home we all have trash cans with lids that close tightly, so it makes it harder for the furry people to get into things.  How is your mom doing?

I hope she's getting better all the time.

Thinking of you and your family, @lookeyloo. Hugs!

We're gradually getting ready to host Thanksgiving. It helps to be retired, because all the bedmaking and vacuuming and dusting and food shopping etc. wears us out! Today we washed all the china and silver and brought in the two extra tables we'll need. I looked at paper cloths for the extra tables and decided not to spend the money when an inevitable spill could ruin it, so I got out 2 very 40-50s tablecloths. I can't remember where I got them, but they are very vintage looking. I washed and ironed them for the big day. Tomorrow we cook some of the sides. We'll have all of our kids and grandkids here and I can't wait! I picked up a new CandyLand and a puzzle, so the 3 yo twins will have something to do. Due to Covid, they haven't been here since they were babies, so I'm guessing they'll also get into the GI Joes and American Girl dolls and some other toys left over from my kids. It's all new to them!

I hope every small talker has a beautiful Thanksgiving Day. It's my favorite holiday. No gifts to buy, just lots of good food and conversation! 🦃

    That sounds wonderful!

Hello everyone - sort of emerging from the two year mark of losing Sweet Son.  Everything feels different.  Yet the same.  Hard to describe.

Sending love and prayers/good thoughts to everyone who loves and misses your dear Sweet Son.

I had a little dinosaur for Lady Reese, but she was NOT having it, so I used the candy corn Blake wore last year. She was the least interested participant. Cavendish didnt like it, but he wasnt too upset with me.

All three are so cute and Cosmo always has the most wonderful smile! Great job with your fur babies💖

Jill would do better to change the flavor of her IG. Stop with the kid focused posts. Its just silly to include the boys, but hide their faces or cut off their heads. Jill could have showed her purchases laid out on a bed. No need to have headless kids modelling them.

Its just as silly as when Jinger tried to shill kid's dresses but posted a pic of the backs of her girls sitting down in the grass.

Exactly.  I have no problem not showing children but trying to appease people who think they should be seeing them just doesn't work.  I find the ways they avoid showing faces more annoying than charming.

It's funny you use that word! When we were going through puppy training, the trainer noted more than once that for an eight month old golden, he was a very chill dog.

Had training not shut down for almost a year when he was 11 months old, we would have completed his Canine Good Citizen test and considered going on to use him as a therapy dog. When training started back up again, he was about 2 and already a good pet so I didn't go back.

So instead I bring him anywhere that allows it, and he does his unofficial therapy dog duties. People remember him. I go places and people say to me, "Where's Norman?!"  Often I have NO IDEA when and where I met them.

He's particularly good at being a retail store employee "therapy" dog.

I am confused how God could have been glorified by the kids singing "So Long, Farewell" at the concert.  It isn't a religious song.  I didn't watch the video so what words did they mess up on?

She said "Sound of Music" ending.  Jill makes up stuff as she goes along.  Whatever will work for her grifting.  She wants people to believe her family is like the movie version of the Von Trapp family so they're endearing.  Interesting, Jill knows the movie but doesn't make the connection that the Von Trapp family was Catholic.

  9. On Jill's FB page they have a snippet of the kids playing "Orange Blossom Special" on the violins.  There's a brief scan of the audience.  I can't imagine anyone would be able to recognize the song from their playing.  I wonder if any of them have real talent that's been crushed by BME or the surroundings they have to deal with daily.  More than sad.

So, although I know it rained last night, for some reason I sat on my backyard swing at the end of morning walk with Cosmo, AND I didn't realize the seat was wet until I stood up! I had to change pants and underwear at 7:30am. I do not sit on the swing on in office days for this very reason. But here is Cosmo! He is going to the groomer Saturday, and I'm glad, the fur is getting unruly and he is looking like a werewolf in the feet!

Thanks for your kind words everyone.  I wrote  the first post at 4am so I  kind of was having a pity party for myself.  I was up that late because the whole thing is giving me insomnia from stress,  and I needed a place to vent.  Thanks again, I really appreciate you all.

I think your kind heart is so needed is this very troubled world today.  I hope you know great blessings having them with you.  A few years ago a dear friend moved out of the country and didn't want to separate her two dogs since they had been together since they were puppies.  The one is a pug mix and there was concern that she wouldn't do well breathing on a plane because of her snout.  My daughter and son-in-law took them both in, even though they already had one dog and three cats. Two of the cats were originally belonged to someone else. I get to live with those two sweet dogs, my grand dogs, and it's a real gift to have them with us.

I've jumped onboard Zoomama's quilted heart train and whipped up a batch which I've already started to distribute.  Took a little more than an hour to create the little buggers.  Time well spent, IMO.

Working for mom and dad for free.

How much money does it cost to print those unwanted pieces of propaganda? Jill hears what she wants to hear when she pretends to listen to God.  How much better would it be if they donated the money spent on the printer, paper, ink and everything associated with it to people who are really in need.  What a waste of time and energy for those young people to be following their parents' grifting delusions.

  15. This was from Tony Dow's Facebook page 5 hours ago:

    "URGENT UPDATE:

This morning Tony's wife Lauren, who was very distraught, had notified us that Tony had passed and asked that we notify all his fans. As we are sure you can understand, this has been a very trying time for her. We have since received a call from Tony's daughter-in-law saying that while Tony is not doing well, he has not yet passed. Tony's son Christopher and his daughter-in-law Melissa have also been by his side comforting him, and we will keep you posted on any future updates."

From his son 4 hours ago:

    "An Update from Christopher Dow:

This is a difficult time. Dad is at home, under hospice care, and in his last hours. My wife and I are by his side along with many friends that have visited. He has a fighting heart."

For whatever happened, you have people who love him very much, very distraught.  It's an incredibly difficult time for loved ones.  People can make mistakes and I give them a lot of leeway when they're going through such a hard time.

Facebook Marketplace is sometimes entertaining. Using Jill’s Facebook account, Timothy has this ad:

Hello, I am Tim with Heavenly Lawn Care I am the current owner, and founder of this business. I started this business to help save money to continue my flight training to help pay for expenses. The business has been very successful, and I currently have about 20 weekly lawn customers, along with extra side jobs every week. Currently with my lawn customers I make about $3,500 a month then with extra side jobs about an extra $1,500 a month. So, my average monthly income this season has been $5,000. I wasn’t quite sure how to list this business for sale but it appears business owners suggest to sell it at the price my equipment is worth plus one month of my average salary which equals about $12,000. But I am open to offers!

    These are some of the biggest items that are being sold with the business;
6x12 Heavy Duty Home Made Trailer
    5 Weed Eaters
    1 Edger
    2 Blowers
1 Wright Stander X 52in With About 2,200 hours (Runs Like a Beast)
    1 Chainsaw

Well that is most of the stuff I can think of off the top of my head. But all the power equipment runs amazing (I don’t keep things that don’t run or give me trouble). It is basically an entire 10x20 storage unit full of stuff that goes with the business. All you need is a truck or something to pull about 3,000lbs, and your good to go (oh yes and some cash, lol) then you would have a small business. Also like I said before I am open to offers, but am not interested in separating the equipment at this time. Thanks! Also the only reason for selling is because I have saved enough money to continue my education to fulfill my goal to be a missionary pilot.

One of a few pictures he used:

    4C0B00D1-0FC5-46A0-8942-AD5A752A14CB.jpeg

I'm amazed he made $5000.00 a month.  How much of that did BME get from him? She is more than despicable and so is her less than hunk jerk of a husband. GRRRR!

It may be comforting for most Christians, but all Jill knows are the fire and brimstone verses. And the ones about "modesty." 🙄

Does she even know the 23rd Psalm?

Thank you! That was my thinking.  Not the loving comforting  Jesus new testament.  Jill tends to go with fire and brimstone.  Didn't Jill complain about Moody's acceptable version of what bible to use?

On a lighter note, is anyone shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale? I had planned on it, but after Cavendish's vet bill, and I need a new water heater (its not broken yet, but getting it replaced before it actually dies). I am tapped out of "fun money" for the rest of 2022 it looks like. I would rather have Cavendish than any item of clothing so I don't regret it. (photo because he is adorable)

He is adorable and you are an amazing pet mom! We had emergency vet bills last year and I understand how expensive but so worth it Cavendish's care was.  And I love all your pet names!
