The fact that Jonathan does not have Clark's powers and that AI Jor-El predicted that neither would manifest powers strongly suggests that Clark's genes are not the dominant ones for the purposes of this show.
But Jor-El was wrong. Jordan DID manifest Kryptonian powers. Moreover, what Jor-El actually said was that whatever powers Jordan has will never be at Clark's level because of Jordan's half-human heritage. And from what we've seen so far, Jor-El was even wrong about that. Jordan's powers are growing stronger as he learns how to use them. Remember that the only reason he lost his last fight against his uncle Tal-Rho was that Tal is older and more experienced in the use of those powers. Jordan's not there yet, but he will be eventually.

OK, does someone want to explain to me -- as if I were five years old -- in what universe it is even remotely fair that Oksana Masters can be the first one to cross the finish line but still only get silver in cross-country skiing because of a technicality regarding the starting times? It should have been whoever crossed the finish line first. Period!

Ukraine ended the first day at the top of the medal count!
I can live with that. It's the perfect "FU" to Russia and Belarus!
I'll catch the daily recap on Peacock later. I understand that the US has also already struck Gold in sitting Biathlon.

Speaking of . . . .is this it for Nate/Nick? I've never disliked the character. Yeah, the whole hemophilia thing was swept under the rug after the second season, and budget constraints forced Nate into less awesome roles, "Hey-World" is also something I try not to think about. But I felt Nick did his best, and he rolled with the show's "go for broke" direction. And hey . . .we could get RoboNate back one day.
Yeah, this is it. While the showrunners have said that the door is open for Nick to come back if he wants to, he himself has made it clear that leaving was his decision. He just felt that it was time to move on to new things, so this particular exit for Nate had been pretty much planned from the start of the season.
Now, what I want to see is how Alun is going to be integrated into the Legends. His is going to be the most difficult adjustment we've seen so far, since he literally just came aboard the Waverider from 1916 after narrowly escaping what was supposed to have been his demise. How do you process the fact that (a) you were supposed to have died in battle; (b) your boyfriend (who is technically from nine years in your future) invented time-travel specifically in order to prevent (a) from happening; (c) you are now on what to you is an alien spacecraft located somewhere outside the time stream and are surrounded by perfect strangers who are known only to your boyfriend; and (d) you've just been arrested for something called "time crimes" -- whatever THAT means!

Jonathan and Jordan don't have to share the same DNA. They are fraternal twins. In an individual, 50% of DNA comes from the mother and 50% of DNA comes from the father. The way the two halves of the DNA combine is what makes each person unique. The source of their DNA is identical but the way the DNA combines is not. So Jordan's DNA, maybe his combination is a way in which Clark's genes are dominant and his powers have been inherited, and with Jonathan, maybe they haven't. I see it as the same way why two parents with brown eyes but both carrying the recessive gene for blue eyes can have a set of twins, one of whom has brown eyes and one of whom has blue.
Clark doesn't have any human genes, so your analogy to the recessive genes that produce blue eyes doesn't work. Clark can only have given Kryptonian genes to both boys even though they are fraternal and not identical twins. And the fact that Jordan DID inherit Clark's powers to me demonstrates that Clark's Kryptonian genes are the dominant ones. I've never yet seen a full-blooded Kryptonian who didn't possess the full range of Kryptonian powers on Earth under normal circumstances.

So is anyone watching the Paralympics? I'm watching the opening ceremony now, and the biggest news today is that Russia and Belarus have both been completely BANNED from participating due to their invasion of Ukraine. That means no "RCP" or "BPC" Paralympians are here. The IPC apologized to the athletes but told them point-blank that their leaders were to blame.

Glad Gwyn was able to save the real Alun and that he will be sticking around as well.
It's going to be interesting seeing them both adjust to being full-time Legends. Neither of them really has the slightest idea of the full-on insanity that awaits them, and Alun in particular is going to have a hard time processing everything that happens (as well as coming to understand that he now lives in a world where his relationship with Gwyn is not only going to be accepted, but even celebrated!).

He's active on his Instagram, and he's been sending messages to his fans ever since the war started. He assures everyone that he's safe, but yeah, he's not going to be leaving Kyiv or Ukraine anytime soon.

Good thing Gary is an alien. I don't think anybody else could survive being
spacedtemporalzoned. To be honest, they had me there for a good long while. I don't follow the meta of most shows I watch and I thought this might be a series finale. It wouldn't have been a bad one, to be perfectly fair.
Looking it up now: while the showrunner "debunked" a leak, that legends was already renewed, I'm inclined to believe that the initial leak was in fact correct. They would have to know by now and them saying "oh we don't know one way or the other" seems fishy.
There's still one episode left in the season, so this couldn't possibly have been any kind of finale.

The other thing that helps is that even though he's from Ukraine, he's always self-identified as Russian and is fluent in both languages.

The X-K should be allowing Jon to tap into dormant powers he may have exhibited eventually. That's what they SHOULD do. However, I still don't believe the showrunner is going to allow two Superboys in this universe, even though by deciding the Kents were to have twins, the logical thing would be for the powers to be split between them.
Except that that's not how the laws of heredity work. Splitting the powers between them so that neither of them gets the full range of Clark's powers would be like giving them each one brown eye and one blue eye. Because they both have equal amounts of Kryptonian DNA in them (since that's all that Clark could give them, because he has no human DNA to give them) and children inherit the dominant traits of their parents, they should both have inherited the full range of Clark's powers, so they both eventually manifest the full range of those powers.

Thank you! So Bizarro is a gegenständig? Or Das Gegenteil?
Ja, but if you mean an opposite person, he's ein Gegenständiger.

I don’t know about friendship, but there was somewhat of a mutual respect that started to show once Michael left. It was shown occasionally in the beginning (Jim knowing Dwight’s middle name at the hospital and Dwight remodeling their kitchen), but when Michael left the show, their interactions together were so much better. They looked to each other when they realized Deangelo wasn’t going to work out, the arc in Tallahassee was wonderful, the final Christmas episode where Dwight was upset that Jim wouldn’t be there for Dwight’s party, and Jim was genuinely happy with Dwight being manager. Even the way he “fired” them in the finale showed that there was somewhat of a friendship and a mutual respect.
And that extended to Pam as well. I was floored when Dwight specifically called her his best friend in the finale, considering that she and Jim had spent the previous nine years making his life hell (and vice versa).

Agreed. Despite the very real problems with the Olympics, all one needs to do is watch the athletes themselves to know that the Games are important, meaningful, and worthwhile...and fun!
Every time the torch goes out...*sniff*
But don't forget that the Paralympics start on March 4. That's just a week from Friday!

But I think it is nice to see the athletes when they are super happy. You don't get to see people that legitimately happy in too many circumstances. It is much nicer than when you have to watch them sob over losing (or even getting second).
Yes, I have to wonder what Trusova will think of herself 20 or 25 years from now when she watches her meltdown over not winning the gold medal in 2022.

Aw Madison Chock and Alysa were roommates!
I thought it was sweet that Madison thought of Alysa as a "little sister," and that's why she was so willing to help Alysa with her hair and makeup!

Now I'm curious as to why we got glimpses of Venice when Milano and Cortina are the host cities in 2026 (love the "26" logo, by the way!).

Canada has had the best outfits for the closing ceremony so far. I love the simple off-white color and design. Italy is still a hot mess as far as I'm concerned.

So far, the closing ceremony has been beautiful. I loved the red ribbons flying from all over into the stadium to create a Chinese knot out of the snowflake that held the cauldron.

The US finished 5th in the overall medal count behind the ROC, BUT we won more GOLD medals than they did, so there's that.
Bring on the Paralympics!

So, Alysa was invited to the gala, but no routine. No dress. Enter Ice Dancers.
Red dress belonged to Olivia Smart. Madison Chock did her hair. Madison Hubbell did her make up. Jean Luc Baker helped create a routine on the fly.
Her father probably hated it. LOL.
It's great the way her teammates had her back and helped her put something together at the last minute. That's what being part of a team is all about!

S02.E06: Tried And True
in Superman & Lois
The point is that Jor-El was wrong. And you have what I said about Tal-Rho backwards. I said that Tal-Rho was only able to beat JORDAN because of the latter's lack of inexperience and training.
But we're clearly never going to convince each other at this point, so let's just call it a draw and move on. What do you say?
