DAMMIT, 2021! We just talked about this yesterday. You just HAD to be the one to take her, didn't you?
RIP, Betty, and thank you. Have fun catching up with Allen and the rest of the casts of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls!

Boi predates Tumblr by decades. It's about 30 years old. And it's specific to a certain slang pronunciation in my head. I believe it started in hip hop culture. Then it was adopted by skater culture.
Gay men under 25 would like to have a word with you. It's synonymous with "twink" in that circle, and I always thought that was where it originated.

Probably not that much of a shock for dorks who watched “A Very Brady Renovation” recently. And by recently I mean in that year that seems to consist of 2020-2022. Good for them. They seem to be doing great.
I never saw that, so it WAS a shock for me. I'm roughly Susan's age, and it's just weird to me to think of the "kids" as being old enough to have grandchildren now!

Ah, there are 2 Nora's, forgot that. I thought she was referring to Nora Darhk. She and Bart Allen appeared in the picture at the end.
Oh! And Nora is Barry's mom's name too!
'SAaaVee...NORA!'
It's also the name of the Speed Force, who modeled her physical form after Bart's mother Nora.

Casting news: https://www.thewrap.com/the-flash-mika-abdalla-cast-tinya-wazzo-apparition/
I'm not familiar with this character or actress; apparently she's also known as 'Phantom Girl'. Sounds like they are making her a metahuman, but she's an alien in the comics.
She'a a hero character, so I assume this is a recurring role? But Team Flash is already crowded.
And she's also from the 31st Century in the comics. I wonder whether this will tie into Iris's time sickness and the fact that in the comics, she's also from the 31st Century and was sent back in time as a baby to save her from a nuclear holocaust. The showrunners have hinted before that that's an aspect of Iris's backstory that they plan to explore at some point, and it would be the reason for her time sickness.

Wha...? I thought this got canned??
Nope. It just moved to a new home. Instead of being on FOX, it's on Hulu now.

Someone asked Tom about that quite some time ago and he basically responded that ship has sailed.

I've had Hulu for years. This is going to be no biggie for me!

I thought it was cute. Sure, it wasn't Legends-level of insane, but it was just the right amount of humor and schmaltz for this type of family holiday programming. And it was nice seeing Beebo with a full personality!

Was the season previously longer? I remember Christmas themed dances so I thought the season previously ended in December.
No, it always went for ten weeks, ending the fall season just before Thanksgiving back when the show was on in both the spring and the fall. Strictly Come Dancing still runs through the first part of December, with an additional Christmas competition after the main season concludes.

Not a bad I Love Lucy homage.
I wondered whether anyone else would recognize that scene as a deliberate shout-out to the famous chocolate-factory scene from I Love Lucy!

Ha, I came here to say, that have you all forgotten the magnificent "mango"? But I see White Dog beat me to it.
That doesn't really count, though, because (a) they weren't a competitive couple -- Jonathan was only subbing in training for Steve's actual partner Anna, who was out sick that week -- and (b) it was more or less a joke (this happened right around April Fool's Day, if I remember correctly). It will never not be amusing, but I really don't consider it a "hint" about any future direction for the show.

Strictly did something similar with one of its pro group numbers this year, and it was electrifying to see.

Totally non-shocker with Amy being pregnant. And it must be Bobby's because Joe had that line about how long it's been since he had sex. Although, didn't we seeing him and Amy having sex earlier in the season?
Be more specific. In the Cop timeline or the Rocker timeline?

Eh. I guess I'll just have to wait for John and Johannes on Strictly to make history as the first same-sex couple ever to win on any version of the show.

Why? Australia had one, and I never did see what the point of that was.

To be honest, young Amy's protest made me like her less.
The protest itself wasn't the problem. But when she threw the rock at the cops' car and damaged it, I cringed. My immediate thought was, "Girl, that was dumb. Understandable, but DUMB!" Did she really think she was helping matters by acting in such a stupid fashion during what was already a tense situation? What did she THINK the cops were going to do in response?

So, the other Waverider, the robots, and everything else was orchestrated by none other than Bishop at first, who believed that the Legends were evil and needed to be destroyed. But after finding out the truth, he started having second thoughts, but at this point Bishop's version of Gideon was already determined to "stay on mission" no matter what, so that's going to be a problem. Still not wild about the Bishop character, but this has a chance to make him more interesting at least.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens now that he's literally bumped into the Legends and is going to be stuck time-traveling and working with them (and vice-versa). First, he's going to have a HELL of a lot of explaining to do -- and FAST before they decide to beat the hell out of him. Fortunately, he already knows what a monster he created in AI Gideon and will work with the Legends to take her down. But is he ever going to be able to get the Legends to trust him once they find out that HE was the one who deliberately got them into this mess in the first place?

Wait. What was it?
The producers and writers wanted Jim to cheat on Pam with Cathy down in Florida. That's what would have happened if John hadn't refused to go there. That's why Cathy's attempt to seduce Jim ended in disaster and was quickly aborted.
And John was right. The viewers would never have forgiven the show if Pam and Jim had broken up after the show had spent four years getting the viewers invested in putting them together in the first place!

Don't forget about drag queen Courtney Act coming in second with her male partner in DWTS Australia 2019. That was one of my most favorite seasons of any DWTS ever. Perhaps it doesn't count as a same sex couple, but he came out of drag for at least one performance.
She came out in drag for ALL of her performances. That's why I don't count their partnership as same-sex male. If I hadn't known she was a drag queen, I would have thought she and her male pro were just another opposite-sex pairing. I almost found her borderline offensive as a gay man myself for that very reason. Her doing it in drag gave it something of a minstrel-show quality that I didn't like and that to me made a complete mockery of the concept of same-sex partner dancing.

Why Grammar Matters: A Place To Discuss Matters Of Grammar
in Everything Else
· Edited by legaleagle53
You forget that we're also taught the exception to that rule: That whenever a word or a syllable ends in silent "e," the preceding vowel in the word or syllable is automatically lengthened without doubling it: can, cane; man, mane; not, note; etc. "Lose" follows the "silent e" exception.
