  1. I'm hoping they do move or remove her and put Ari Melber or (my personal fave!) Joy Reid in her spot.
  2. Ten years have taken its toll on this show. If you want to know why we still watch, look no further than the easy, honest conversation of Barnicle, Kasie Hunt, Brian Sullivan, and Bianna Golodryga at the tail end of today's show. Contrast that with Joe spewing out his agenda at the top, everybody nodding in concurrence and Mika blithely sitting pretty repeating "I'm a Democrat, I'm a Democrat" over and over again. This show BADLY needs new blood. Joe and Mika have to go. But I'll keep watching for the nostalgia, the rare unscripted moments, and the potential for new hosting hope.
  3. They spun ALL the poll numbers that way by putting the (lower) number on top and talking about how quickly it was improving over the last week. What a joke
  4. I'd prefer that, if Joe really wants to use his show to communicate to Donald Trump, that he spell out his messages with morse-code blinking like normal people. Surely that would be more entertaining.
  5. Ha! You sound like Chris Matthews :)
  6. I enjoyed Maureen's column and how they discussed it this morning *shrug*. Also, which one is Pink Marcia? I need a crib sheet to keep up with all y'all's snark :)
  7. Oh I know we hold these guys to low standards. But Mika's "long legs, short skirts" comment was an absolute pure shard of one hundred percent snark. Good on you gal!
  8. This. I started fast-forwarding through her appearances on all of the news shows a while ago. She's an information black-hole.
  9. The understated snark is great in this one!
  10. Ha! I guess I'm not the only Joy Reid fan here. Hope she gets her own prime time gig soon.
  11. I just can't watch this show anymore. I mean I can't watch it without two words coming to mind: Unitarian & Scarf
  12. Not sure I can stomach this show right now. Maybe I'll start watching again after Joe's right-wing fever breaks. Yesterday's show is always better than the one after. The parade of deplorables just goes on and on. Today it was long interviews with Reince and Carly. Also unseemly are Joe and Mica trying to put their thumb on the scale: John Bolton bad! (don't disagree with them there), Gulliani bad! (same). It's almost like they are trying to speak directly to Trump, which honestly I think they really are trying to do. It just makes for some boring TV when it's obvious they aren't talking to the viewers anymore.
  13. So my favorite part of this "3 hour" program is when Anand Giridharadas comes on and talks about his personal experience with dealing with internet trolls post-election. It's poignant and interesting. And it's no coincidence that Joe isn't on the set. Then Joe comes on, accuses Anand of being irrational and shuts down the conversation. I wish there was another free-form, intelligent, funny talk show like this on TV because this show's host is absolutely ruining this one.
  14. That has been my favorite post-election coverage discussion I've seen so far and the best MJ spot I've seen in a long, long time. They really need to bring Moore on more often.
  15. The tone of this show has just been on-point all season: Wry but not cynical, worn but not frayed. I think as time goes on and people start binge watching this show it will be judged kindly as a little slice of a world that most of us will never know. I mostly hope this doesn't get renewed because this first season has just been about perfect (except for the skateboard scenes, what were they thinking?)
  16. The romance is as much artifice as anything else in the show. This is probably my favorite program of this summer.
  17. Yeah, despite my quibble about the cassette-era anachronism, I am rather enjoying the show. The writing is fun, the characters (although somewhat bland) are non-cynical and full of life. The relationships are ALL forced but I guess I don't care because the actors seem like they are having a lot of fun. Also, the music is really top notch! Gram Parsons jacket was a huge bonus, Flying Burrito Brothers Forever!
  18. "Radio Nowhere" came out in 2007. Who the hell used cassette tapes in 2007? That was just dumb.
  19. This morning's MJ was one of the worse I've seen. I've been watching the show since it started and although it's got its ups and downs, the first twenty minutes are usually some of the best, most-freewheeling discussions you can find on a news show. But lately Joe has become intolerable. He obviously was setting the agenda for the show today and everyone just falls in line because after all it IS his show. But listening to his strident tone and his obvious anti-progressive agenda be displayed so blatantly is disgusting. This morning he was surrounded by all of his usual conservative yes-peeps. The "progressive" was Harold Ford who tried to speak and got shut down. Thank god for Crazy Larry injecting some rationality into the conversation at the 7 oclock hour. And Mika! What can you say about her? It seems obvious to me now that she indeed does have a relationship with Joe because she is so demure now with him and defers to him like a good girl. It's gross to watch.
  20. I rather disliked this episode. The comedy was broad and unpleasant. The interview with the "sociopath" was ridiculous. Dude, you're not a sociopath, you're just an asshole.
  21. Tonight's episode taught me that holocaust jokes never get old.
  22. I agree. Quentin is 21 and obviously immature and not used to curbing his emotions. I can't understand why Harry chose to make an example of him. I thought it was really without class.
