  1. Sometimes silence speaks volumes. Nobody seems to be sorry he's gone. Maybe all those diva stories are true. He's been talking about leaving the show for years What is it like to work with someone who gets paid all that money and really doesn't want to be there. Now maybe the actors that do want the job can get more screen time. Yay!
  2. Right. Adele was the only natural death. I always thought they missed the boat by not doing a drug addiction story in full, or a suicide...both common in the medical profession, no? It would be fun if one of the doctors was found murdered...da da da
  3. You'd be surprised. I live right near one and the closest to that one is like 30 miles away and that is Chicagoland. Bigger than Seattle by far
  4. This is the first season he was missing in action for must of it. Add the real life drama and issues...it wouldn't be the first time that derailed an actor's job, I like PD, was a fan of his early movie career, but he isn't the reason I watch Grey's and people say they will lose viewers over this..they might, but losing one character won't kill the show. Shonda will say it's not Sheperd's Anatomy. I complain about her, but you have to give her kudos for shaking it up. People will tune in just to see what happens and how he goes out.
  5. It has to be the racing and his needing time away from filming. It always comes down to money and the bottom line. It is an ensemble show, it its 11th season and there is probably no justification for ABC to be paying him 300K+ an episode when he wasn't even in half of them. Actors with their own shows and a few supporting cast members don't make that much. Plus, it had to cost them extra money to accommodate his filming schedule. Can you imagine being like a lower cast member, who is making a few thousand an episode being told you have to work around Patrick?
  6. I think it's all a fake ploy by Shonda to mess with us. We are supposed to think he is dead. Or maybe the audience knows he isn't but he seems dead to the characters. It feels so General Hospitally
  7. I keep going back and forth daily, dead or alive. But the point that I keep going back to...being alive is not shocking nor devastating. If he is alive, not sure that is a big deal. Why would we need to be prepared to find out he doesn't die lol
  8. Shonda doesn't do funerals anymore. We never saw any type of memorial for any of the scores of people she has killed off. I am wondering if the cemetary scene could be Jackson and April, at baby Samuel's grave. That would be emotional. Sarah tweeted they were out on location too.
  9. If Derek doesn't die, everything from the last three episodes has been pointless...him coming home, wanting more, realizing he has everything, Amelia's speech, Webber's odd speech.
  10. All continuity is out the window lately. The road he is on looks more like Mulholland drive than foresty Seattle. I think I saw the same location on Scorpion last night. That is my guess, He is driving, gets in head on collision, miraculously rises from the smoky ashes, and saves those people...dreamlike. "It's a great day to save lives." In coma... winds up on ferry boat floating around and watching over Seattle.
  11. I'm confused about the day's timeline. even if 12 hours earlier.... It was Mer stressing all that day, Bailey telling her to freak out at 5 pm.. I thought Derek was going to the airport in the morning to make the DC meeting that day.. but in the latest sneak, in the OR, Derek is on the phone talking about the flight and Bailey is there. Wouldn't Bailey mention that to Mer while she was stressing? Then in the car, you see the dash clock says it is 7:45 pm Maybe Derek is in head on, and dreams he is saving all those people? reaching for this all to make sense.
  12. Shonda has used the short term memory lapse with Izzie and recently with the plane crash. She did the coma story....all overdone. It doesn't seem shocking enough or worthy to revisit those for Derek. If he is still around, it has to be something else...better. What if he suddenly is it with early onset Alzheimer's. That would be interesting, since they expect it from Mer, and since he quit his work on it in DC.
  13. I'm reading all this speculation, here, over there...twitter etc. And I think Shonda is taking advantage of the fact that PD is not filming now, using redirection, smoke and mirrors to spice up the show and keep us guessing. Shonda will go full soap opera and give him some MIA explanation, maybe the first episode theory.. I was convinced Patrick was gone, but really...nobody at Grey's is acting like he has left the show. Jcap and Camilla making cute tweets copying the Derek? tweet by Stacy. We will know what happened to him by season's end, probably nothing. A few new interns show up at the end. We have seen it before. Not sure what is going on with Calzona,
