Houston is old money, Dallas is new, Austin is hipsters. This is the beginning of Kelly's horrible baby voice. I swear that sound just grabs right on to my spine.

Toddlers & Tiaras - General Discussion
maxineofarc replied to Meredith Quill's topic in Toddlers & Tiaras
Part of the pageant deal is that you pay extra to enter in specialty categories like "best hair," "most photogenic," that kind of thing. She may well have been the only kid whose parents ponied up for the extra trophies. I always felt sorry for Eden, especially after watching an episode or two of her Logo spinoff. She was an extremely ordinary little girl who seemed pretty happy being an extremely ordinary little girl, on the rare occasions when she was permitted to be. -
I was about to write SOMEONE PLEASE DATE D'SHAWN but then I remembered D'Shawn is much too good for any of these nitwits.

My best theory is that Harriet got tired of playing at being Katy Perry (SIX YEARS!) but felt sorry for Spencer, so she called in the show to help give her a buffer and some help in cutting him loose.
-
Okay but Brenda's hair really is amazing in this episode.
-
The pop star Katy Perry actually does have a cat named Kitty Purry, so that isn't necessarily a tell.

That I don't hate Steve has 100% to do with Ian Ziering's natural charm and 0% to do with Steve.

Carol Potter is a gem. A GEM. I will say that when I was at college in the early 90s, at least SOMEONE at the registrar's office had no trouble handing out my address to a super sketchy dude that I did not want to have it, so the scenario isn't as implausible as one might think.

I hope the parents of all of these people have quietly moved and changed their phone numbers and left no forwarding address.

I really think that Daniel may have a form of mental illness which he has translated into paranormal sensitivity (I am not a believer; I don't think they're scammers in the classic sense, but I do think they're misguided) and which he is self-medicating. If he doesn't get help to deal with his voices in some other way- not by deciding he does not have second sight or the like, as that would leave him without a worldview, but perhaps a sensitive psychiatrist could help him find positive ways to manage it- then I think the potential for him to backslide is always going to be very strong.

HOW is Kelly's awful infantilizing baby voice getting WORSE as we go along?
-
She thought it was funny? That's nice, Bren, but this awful play clearly isn't a comedy.

I literally flipped off the screen when Brandon started quoting Casablanca, and I couldn't even see his stupid face.

Catfish Host Nev Schulman Is Engaged To Marry Laura Perlongo

I still cannot get over her referring to herself as a "kidult" with a straight face. That bodes so very poorly. -
I'm not sure how this works for family court matters, but in most civil litigation, the parties can choose to be present or not at a witness's deposition. Usually it's just lawyers and the witness, and the lawyers Strongly Discourage their clients from saying anything if they're not the ones being deposed. Mel's comments would be part of the court reporter's record of the proceeding and his lawyer would probably call a break and hustle him out to cool his jets.

Wow, Carol Potter and James Eckhouse were foxy before the 90s Parental Hair got hold of them. Not bad even after, but the 90s were not good for hair. For additional evidence, see everyone in this entire episode.

I'm only a casual viewer and missed most of the first season, but shut up I'm not crying YOU'RE crying

S03.E29: Commencement Part 1 / S03.E30: Commencement Part 2

I recall relating to her better than the other kids because I was an uptight nerd myself, but I started college in 1991 and so missed out on the 90210 zeitgeist a bit. I still wouldn't have gone out of my way to watch a show about her, but maybe if they were thinking of something like Different World which turned into an ensemble piece pretty quickly? -

For proof that TV has always been gross and weird: Also, a spinoff of Nana at Yale? I don't remember that but it's possible. Still, if I were a TV exec trying to pick a character to spin off from this show, that would in no way have been my first choice. Who ever watched this show for Ohhndrea?
