So what happens to tonight's Salvation broadcast?  It's already past my bedtime.

According to the schedule, it gets pushed by an hour and Elementary is off for the night so it replaces that slot for the night.

When I hear "Elon Musk" I imagine Darius Tanz.  So this whole horrifying business of the kids stuck in the cave and Elon offering his expertise, I'm still imaging Darius coming to the rescue.   If the writers really are making it up as they go along, I hope they don't include this as one of the subplots.  I mean they do have to fill up the rest of the summer.

Oh I'm expecting them to in some way, given how they already fast tracked him to VP in record time.

Many, maybe, but not all - and the show has been clear from the start that it was about more than just asteroid/end of the world stuff. I mean, I might wish that the writing in general was stronger (which I do), but I'm not going to fault them for at least trying to build character stories, since the overwhelming forward trend in television over the past couple of decades has been for greater focus on character rather than purely plot-driven writing.

If any of those subplots were interesting, then yes.

You can do character building with the asteroid/end of the world stuff, you don't need other storylines as you can make it a survival story or even a post-apocalyptic one if the writers want to drag it out that far

Other than that, it feels too trivial given the asteroid/end of the world stuff, like are there supposed to be any real stakes with the wannabe Mr. Robot hacker group trying to hold the US government hostage when the world might end?  Or the love triangle?  Or that random woman Grace killed that's supposed to matter with everything going on?

I believe the implication was that the noise of the jet would prevent anyone from overhearing them, even sitting right there alongside them - that's why they were wearing headsets and talking over the comm in the first place.

I know I'm in the minority, but I'm enjoying the ride. The absurdity is what makes it fun.

It can be fun, just not when the love triangle and other dumb subplots are bringing things down, many people here just want the asteroid/end of the world stuff.

For me, there are just too many conspiracies: the Russians, Resyst, Presidential coup and I can't figure out why they aren't all working together to, you know, SAVE THE EARTH.

Agreed, it makes no sense at all to focus the show on a terrorist group blackmailing the US government when there's an asteroid incoming.

Another unintentional moment of hilarity....Darius & Grace in the stealth bomber ...want to have a private conversation...so Darius asks the two men seated on either side to take off their headsets so that the conversation won’t be overheard. The men are six inches away, and,um....they have...you know....EARS!!!  I am so rooting for the comet at this point.....

I was wondering about that, and even then they probably wouldn't be interested in their nonsense considering that there are actual issues like the asteroid to deal with.

I actually find it sadly only too believable that everyone is too busy fighting among themselves to be able to work together to solve the asteroid problem.

It's pretty much the only believable thing in this show.

It's probably wrong to root for Stahl but goodness this show gets such a jolt when his crazy, stalker ass is around.

Woz disappointed me tonight at the gay bar.  I thought he was okay with his sexuality.

Probably because Stahl is a major driving force in the story.

That didn't feel like a season finale. Otherwise, I got nothing.

Agreed, it's possible it's the production order.

I have been on Team Asteroid since last season.

If you wanted to talk with someone about how one of you killed the president's top aide, you would do it while walking down a hallway full of government workers, right?

This is the same series where Darius instantly became VP, so I guess they're either too dumb or don't care.

So was this plot taken from a particular episode (can't readily recall if it was SVU or something else), or is it a common trope to have teens go Lord of the Flies on one of their group and keep it a secret until someone wants to confess as an adult as part of a Twelve Step program, at which point the snitch is murdered?
    *sigh*
Some of us were expecting this again.

If the writers had gone (been allowed to go?) a little more off-script, it would have been logical to have a reveal that the Rich Dickhead had some sway with the social worker (threatened to put her nephew in foster care or something equally evil) and that was why she was pretending to be homophobic.

It's possible as it hasn't been the first time they've had a similar plot to another show.

Like any of them should be raising a baby.

I'm not sure why they thought dropping in a baby plot in this type of show, but it's ending in a few episodes anyways.

You shouldn't be, it's very 11th hour, most networks and streaming services have already planned out their upcoming slate, and as entertaining as Timeless might be it doesn't have a lot of perks for a streaming service to pick up.

Agreed, this was dragged out until June where the contracts were about to expire.  The shows that were picked up were cancelled in May and were already in negotiations a long time ago.

Only thing I am going to watch is The Good Place

Oh crap they picked up Brooklyn 99 right?

So I will only watch them for their comedies.

You can just stick to Thursday nights.

I am guessing the show needs a Big Bad.  As interesting as the concept is there is only so long as it can go on without a bigger concept and a terror threat connects the main group with the government that owns the minority share of the company.   It’s a big event that gives everything more meaning then just case of the week episodes.

At this point, it's either that ex partner guy from the last episode, the government, or a new character.

It was disappointing because Mara really failed this time. Although Mara might have found the location of the next bomb, she found no information about Silas. They are celebrating, while Silas is still out there planning his next target.

    24 minutes ago, tennisgurl said:

Yeah, it bugged me that they never found Silas. Like, yeah its great that they found the other bombs, but there is still a domestic terrorist cell operating in the US. Maybe that comes back later, and he and his people become reoccurring enemies?

I will admit, I thought the actress playing the comatose woman's mom was good, and I really felt for her when Mara gave her the last message of her daughter.

Yeah, it felt unfinished, unless it's brought back later.

If Taylor Cole's character is the saboteur, she might have sent him tumbling to his death when he stumbled (literally) upon her (or someone else's if she's a red herring) gassing of the Ark. If so, Grace and Harris hushed up the evidence in order to prevent panic in the Ark, right? And Jillian is tasked with ferreting out the fox in the hen house, but she is not playing with a full deck—in every way that can be interpreted.

"Panic in the Ark" sounds like a Sharknado-esque movie—which is what this series might devolve into—which is fine for summer network TV fare.

We might not have Zoo this summer, but fur (or sexy man hair) will fly when Darius finds out Harris squelched key evidence—Ark panic prevention be damned!

I guess we'll find out later, it was a very awkward time jump that included the fastest, unintentional power grab by Darius who accidentally became VP in less than 5 days.

Did I miss an episode or twenty? Where did that kiss even come from? The great thing about couples kissing is having it be earned. This was not earned and I'm not even comfortable calling Lizzie and Julian a couple seeing as they've barely spoken on screen. I love the cast of this show but it is so poorly written that I'm really struggling to hold on.

The murder was boring. The kid plot was boring.

Yeah, they've only recently talked to each other and that's after a couple of episodes where they were kept apart from interacting in the first couple of episodes when Dylan was hiding Julian from Lizzy.

It did, but there was something about that first scene with the three of them at the wine bar; something about Lizzie and Julian that made me say, "Oh no, are they gonna hook up these two?!"  I think I like it, I just think it happened too quickly.

Yeah, it needed more build up on that part.
