  1. If Kody covers those vents, or blocks off the air flow by building a wall, even with a door, will not only put stress on the AC/Heating, but cause a vapor lock situation. Ok, so you have a daughter and her husband moving back in, so you need to adjust your home. Seriously, instead of doing a remodel that makes no sense, why do they have to keep a "game room"? Move Hunter, who isn't home full time, down to the game room, and let Madison have that end of the house! There seems to be no need for a big remodel.
  2. I have had Mexican hot chocolate many times, and my son-in-law, who's Italian, made it for us at Christmas, and have never known it to take two hours to make. At Christmas we took liberties, and put a shot of vodka in the mug, the hot chocolate, whipped cream, then put in a hot cocoa candy cane. YUM. Mykelti didn't have a problem wanting to announce her engagement to Tony during the run up to Madison's wedding, but she has a real problem with Madison announcing her pregnancy in the run up to her wedding. Watching this train-wreck of a wedding makes me think they don't have a clue what married life is really like, and will be coming back to live w/the family once they find out rent/utilities/groceries/etc. are expensive, and they will need a place to live while they "get on their feet". If FT realizes this is an option (Madison & Caleb), he will take advantage of what he sees as a never ending gravy train as long as he can.
  3. That routine at the bridal shower was uncomfortable to watch. WHY did they do it??? And isn't lingerie at a bridal shower sort of the usual thing, unless the invitations specifically state a "housewares", or "linen" shower? I was shocked that Kody didn't tell Meri she had to make room for Madison & Caleb. I know it's the "every wife has her own place" thing, but I am surprised he didn't bring that up as an option. Which of course would make sense. And it would have given Meri an even better excuse to be gone to Utah for longer stretches of time. It probably stems from the long standing dislike Meri & Janelle have for each other. Ok, the pinata's. Seriously??? How ironic is it that FT doesn't know the meaning of the word Tacky, but he is by definition tacky. Now frisbee's. Oh it just keeps getting better.
  4. I think Janelle would be perfectly fine if Meri moved away. It's Robyn & Christine that seem bent out of shape. Why don't they just say it? "Hey, just because I was able to have a bunch of kids and am we're stuck here raising them by ourself, while you get to go off and do what you want". Interesting nobody brings up when Janelle moved away from the family - bought her own home, and lived away for "several years".
  5. Wow the discussion the women had about whether or not buying the house would allow Meri would be away "too" much. The more I watched the more I saw three women who were jealous of the freedom Meri has. They are tied down with their own children, homes, etc., while Meri is free as a bird. Clearly she doesn't want the role of "on demand" babysitter. They rarely see each other, despite living in that cul de sac. They group likes to put it out there that they are ALL moms to the kids, when in reality, they are more like Aunts. Of course when she gets the house she's going to be away all the time. Why wouldn't she be? She said she doesn't see them, except for when absolutely necessary. She's made it clear that she is not going to get involved in the daily lives of the kids. She has zero relationship with Kody. So, I hope she does get the place (and we know she does), and is there all the time. The three others thought that Meri would fill in full-time, doing anything they wanted (babysit, drive kids to and from school, sports, etc), whenever they wanted. That bubble burst.
  6. All the demands that M&T were making for their wedding, with all the "parents" going out of their way to make it happen. Ok, take the same scenario, but instead plunk in a kid, really wanting to go to a good college and asking for tuition from this same group. "OH NO we can't afford that, it's just not in our budget. That much for tuition is asking too much".
  7. Finally got around to watching the entire episode. OMG. First of all - can one of them that claims to be an adult, please tell Mykelti & Tony NO! He is so smarmy. Both of them are dumb as rocks. Why couldn't one of the "moms" speak up and say "listen, we are not going to pay for 400 people to eat tacos". NO! We will pay for a wedding with you, a few friends, Tony's immediate family. . . that's it! If you want to have a big reception - sometime after the wedding - for the extended family and friends, go for it, but it's on your dime. The dime which is about all they have. Seriously all these kids have learned, through example, how to rig the system, meaning run up bills, then file for bankruptcy. Christine and her screaming! Kody with his fake outrage, Robyn with her general ignorance - STOP! Janelle seemed to be the only one who was quietly thinking, well none of this is coming out of my money. What a waste of effort, time and money. Tony thinks he latched on to a gravy train. Entitled. The entire thing, down to the damn color scheme for the wedding, is idiotic. He's an embarrassment, and I can't believe one of them hasn't pulled him aside to set him straight. All of them are not mormons, but morons. Meri and the idea of a B&B could be her way to get them to help pay for her escape. I doubt the bookings are 100%, but it would surely give her a place to live, away from everyone. She wouldn't hesitate to take the rest for all she can - get a place in her own name, before all the other houses are foreclosed on. Her conversation with Robyn was awful, but she did manage to get Robyn to side with her. I don't think Meri is stupid, and knows she needs at least one of these fools to buy in.
  8. I seriously doubt Meri (and Kody) have any equity in her house. They bought with no money down, high interest, etc. Vegas has had a building boom, with new, better, homes & "communities" being built all the time. So, any prospective buyer could either get a newer home for the same price, or low ball Meri that she would walk away at a loss. At best she's underwater with her house. Owes more than it's worth. Do they still own the home in Utah. If they do, they could possibly pull some money out of that house. You know, it really doesn't matter. They will once again walk away from debt. No way will Janelle or Sobyn allow any stake they have in their homes be put at risk for Meri. I have a friend in Utah who has a fabulous wedding venue. It's close to Park City, so she has a better location than Meri. If she can get 50% during wedding season, she's lucky.
  9. Because all of them have, at one time or another, declared bankruptcy. They accumulate debt, and walk away. Usually, just before they declare, they go on a spending spree. They have learned this behavior from their parents. So mykelti thinks this is how things work. Money is no object, you just say "sorry, can't pay" after you run up debt.
  10. I think it boils down to sometimes mothers/daughters sons/fathers, pick a combination, fall out for all number of reasons. All of the details aren't known. Maybe one day Sydney will want to have some sort of relationship, maybe not. Both sides are viewing this through their own experience, and have their reasons for their actions. Due to circumstances, almost 20 years ago, I distanced myself from my own mother. It wasn't done hastily, but it's what I felt I had to do. Sure there are times when it would be nice to see her/talk to her, but doing that would only draw me back into the drama that was the reason I said enough. She also seems fine with it. I do hear through the grapevine that she blames me, makes me the bad guy, etc. But, my phone#, email haven't changed in all these years, and I haven't heard a word from her. Simon is a creep, no doubt, but maybe he gave Sydney the support she needed to find her voice, and speak up to Tamra.
  11. Oh my, it has been awhile. I was lucky if we could find used books for my son that were under $200 each. When my daughter was in high school (years ago), along with tuition, we had to buy books (always made me crazy). We averaged about $1,000 a year on textbooks, then had to buy other books for required reading. I guess I'm in the minority here, but I understand Sydney. Besides the things she said went on at Tamra's house, she was being ridiculed at school for Tamra's antics (remember the bathtub scene with Eddie?). Teenagers are automatically embarrassed by their parents, but Tamra had no filter. Ok, don't quit the show, but keep your daughter's pictures, and your relationship with her out of the press, off the show. Not too hard to do. Talk about your other kids (I know they can't be shown on tv), but Tamra just can't help herself. To me, if she truly wanted a relationship with her daughter, she would have shut it down. I don't care what the press said, what dirt came out - just don't bring up her name or your relationship. When Tamra was at Lydia's bible study thing, Tamra didn't have to go into her troubles with Sydney on camera - but she chose to make it part of her storyline.
  12. The idea that Peggy's father recently passed away, then she had a radical surgery, and within a month went on a reality show??? Nice judgement call Peggy. Wow. I'm sure since she consults Diko about everything, he pushed for it. Peggy gets so upset and angry when people just try to understand what she's trying to say. Everyone, including Lydia, has been frustrated by it. Even during the scenes where she & Diko are have dinner, or just talking, you can't make sense out of what she's trying to say. Then she gets that snotty sneer on her puss.
  13. I have no doubt that after that evening, when she was on the phone w/Diko, she took something to help her calm down and sleep.
  14. The medication didn't keep her from being alert enough to record the baby crying, or for that matter, it didn't stop her from driving! Peggy was looking for a fight, and she got one! And, if she wanted someone to have her back, why didn't Lydia speak up? What was she going to say, (insert fairy princess voice), "I spoke to Peggy this afternoon and when Kelly said I'm going to have my daddy talk to your daddy, Peggy thought you were disrespecting her dead father. And she heard you laughing (leaving out the fact that Peggy came out of her room to see them and tell them to stop laughing at her)". . . Instead she sat there. So, bottom line, when did Peggy start taping she had already had an altercation with the other women. Then she heard the baby cry - let her start recording. Medication seems to have had little to do with it, except that she wasn't taking the right stuff.
  15. Kelly's explanation of what happened makes more sense than Peggy's. I bet the drunk knocking could have woken up Aspen, then the crying began. But after they got to other room is when Peggy decided to go filming. From Kelly's blog: First of all, to answer this week's burning question, Tamra and I were NOT laughing at Peggy. At one point in the night, we all went and got into our pajamas. When Tamra and I came out of our rooms, I was banging on Vicki's door and Tamra was banging on Shannon's door. We did it at the same time, and looked at each other and just burst out laughing. I can't tell you why it was so funny—I guess you had to be there. Then Peggy opened her door and started screaming at us to stop laughing at her! It was so bizarre, it made the whole thing even funnier, and we laughed even harder.
  16. Interesting that on his IG Ryan has decided to move back to NC, and he mention being with a "group" to get his head together. That group is called Save a Warrior, dedicated to helping vets deal with PTSD and adjusting to life outside the military. His behavior indicates he has anger issues, so moving to a "stress-free" place, combined with participating in this group, leads me to believe he does not want the stress of the OC, Vicki, and the drama surrounding all of it.
  17. Peggy made perfectly clear when speaking to Lydia that she was mother shaming Meghan. And that hand toss, sneer, "If that's how YOUR friends take care of their babies . . . .". Lydia saying Peggy has a hard time expressing herself - uh not on this issue. She was going to use it as a weapon. There was no concern for Aspen. She was mad at everyone, egged on by Diko, and her big mistake was opening with it. That derailed anything else she had to say. It was clear she wasn't just tired, but had taken something. Those eye were doing their best not to cross. I was completely embarrassed for Vicki in that dress. She looked so ridiculous. And thought it couldn't get worse, but enter Peggy. WTF was that outfit? She looked so damn out of place. Fast forward to her chat w/Diko. Wow. That jacket has a life of it's own. And, what is with the big BUMP hairdo, with all those pins in the back?????
  18. Peggy should never be around in an emergency. She thought she was helping, but making things worse. The hiding out in her hotel room all day/night was childish. Why is she on the show? As much as I usually dislike Kelly, good for her to tell Peggy to stop telling her what to do. I do love when Kelly challenges her, Peggy gets the dumbest look on her face. Lydiot is just way too strange. When Vicki mentioned the "injection", I suspect it was for a previous, or current clot. Heparin is often prescribed if you are planning on taking a long flight.
  19. Did Peggy do anything besides tell Kelly to be quiet? I forgot she was even there.
  20. Talking to Peggy is like listening to a song backwards. She makes no sense and yet gets mad when people try to understand. Something is just "odd" about Peggy. I've notice, how during her TH, that accent goes in and out. Not to mention when she's listening to people speak, she looks at me like when I ask my dog "do these pants make me look fat". Lydiot. . . OMG just stop. Everytime I see her on screen w/Doug, I can't help but think they have terrible sex, but think they have great sex. When she speaks it's like listening to a 7 year old explain physics. Next week will we get to see Vicki at the podiatrist for an ingrown toenail? Ugh Tamra - nice throwing everyone under the bus in such a subtle way. Nice to be so critical of Shannon, when year after year, we have seen her go NUTS at the drop of a hat. That view from her high horse must be nice. Shannon. Stop. Go to a real dr., get everything checked out. Do whatever it takes to reduce the stress. Don't dwell on things all day long. Oh is Meghan still on the show.
  21. So Tamra has pretty much made sure nobody wants to interact w/Vickie. They have to film with her, but that doesn't mean they have to speak to her. So, Vickie is on her way out. Is Tamra now doing the same thing to Shannon? Is she really going for two must go?
  22. I had a needle biopsy done, the results looked clear but were inconclusive. I had it removed - then they did the pathology testing. So, my take is she had something - maybe not a lump, but abnormality. Same thing - needle biopsy came back clear, but she wanted it out. After they found 3mm of precancerous cells, and instead of waiting for it to turn cancerous - she made the double mastectomy decision. My daughter has had several breasts biopsies - thankfully all have been cysts, and clear. But both of my aunts died of breast cancer, and my grandmother had it. My husband's sister died of breast cancer last year. So daughter has it on both sides of the family, and she is vigilant about screenings.
  23. I think they are open about it, but damn they are confusing. And to get offended when people ask questions to clarify makes no sense to me. During the Diko/David exchange, it seems to me like the first time David had heard about it. I love how Jim looks completely disinterested in absolutely everything - except the food.
