  1. I totally agree about Emma seeming different around Regina. I found the whole exchange in the mayor's office to be very stilted and awkward (almost like she's trying to hard to make it feel light and banter-y). It's hard to tell if that's a conscious choice by JMo, or if she's just as uncomfortable with the whole thing as us. Looks to me like the Emma/Snow and Emma/Hook relationships will take a back seat to Emma/Regina this half - esp. with Robin out of the picture. As a fan of the Charmings and CaptainSwan I can say that I'm not looking forward to this season at all. This show is definitely dropping off my must see list to maybe I'll check it out based on what I read about each episode...
  2. I guess emotional payoff what I meant in terms of CaptainSwan. I also enjoy the slow burn and am not looking for true love kisses or anything like that between them anytime soon. However, I would like to see more emotional growth between the two of them. Let Hook be involved in the story of Emma embracing her magic. Let him share his experiences of self-doubt, etc. I love both Emma and Hook (and the way Jen and Colin portray them), but I still get a very one-sided feeling about the relationship. I'm just not sure why they are so reluctant to let CS actually participate in each other's growth as people. I think the audience response would be so positive and it would get even more people excited about their journey. Anyway, back to lurking :).
  3. For some reason, I've been thinking about the romantic relationships on this show and find myself a little confused with how they are being handled. In Season 1, we had the epic love story between Snow and Charming. Their love was so strong, they were even drawn to each other in the cursed world. They did everything they could to find each other, to be together, to save each other, etc. This was one of the things many viewers loved about the show that first season. Yet since then, the show seems very reluctant to go there with any of the current love stories. With Rumbelle, they have been apart more than they've been together, Outlaw Queen was pretty much fast tracked to soul mates and then separated, and with Captain Swan they refuse to give them any of the big, emotional payoffs we got with Snowing. Given this is a fantasy show about hope and true love kisses, etc. I'm just surprised they they haven't wanted to take advantage of what could be an epic love story and really draw people in. Then again, seeing how they write for Snowing now, I guess the follow up to the epic true love story would probably be pretty lame. Anyway, just my random musings on a Monday morning...
  4. Same. I found her character vaguely creepy and intense, but most of all I hated that they made Emma feel guilty for not forgiving her. To the point where she still remembers it and feels guilty 15 years later! And that 1/2 day relationship spurred her on to begging Regina (of all people) to forgive her and be her friend. As others have stated, I'm positive that Lily will not be apologizing to Emma for lying to her, but instead will be out to make Emma feel bad for ending their relationship.
  5. I just think it's ridiculous for a writer to engage and call himself "BFFs" with people who are tweeting incredibly rude things about the show and it's storylines/characters. Shouldn't the writers be supporting the things that are part of the show? Does he read the hashtags in the tweets he responds to? Does he realize that these people hate on everything and everyone to do with the show? Does he care that Colin (and likely other actors) follow him and see him interacting with people that want his character to die? Sorry, I'm just so disgusted with him and with everything surrounding the show these days.
  6. Love this idea! It reminds me somewhat of the Season 3 finale - Emma and Hook had to use their "wits" to solve a specific problem. Of course there were obstacles along the way they had to overcome, but they were able to adjust on the fly and succeed at the end. It felt so much more satisfying because they had to work together as a team and didn't rely on magic or some last minute solution from out of the blue. Wish the writers would read these forums - you guys have so many good ideas.
  7. It's funny, but when I see Colin in that video it makes me want to see him in other roles outside OUAT. I do love his take on Hook, but let's face it, the writing is not doing him any favors. He's pretty much pigeonholed as Emma's love interest and a way for villains to get to her. I wish they would explore him as a man and them as a real couple - talking, learning about each other, bantering with each other. This kind of got away from me, but I guess I just really want to see him fully leverage his acting chops because I think he has a lot to offer!
  8. Curio - I love your post so much that I had to get an account just so I could like it! Yes to everything you said. This show actually sets up some interesting story lines, but I have absolutely no faith in their ability to deliver.
