I remember Jill saying Kaylee was driving a few months ago when she claimed that ALL of their vehicles were out of commission at the same time. They broke down by the side of the road somewhere and Kaylee had to drive to pick some of them up.

In this family, that does not guarantee that she has a license or insurance.  Or that she knows how to drive a truck.

  2. The last time I was called for Jury Duty it was for passing bad checks.  The defendant was in the court room, and before jury selection started the judge asked if any of us knew the defendant, or any of the lawyers.  One woman raised her hand and, when asked by the judge who she knew, she stated that she new the defendant because he had passed a bad check in her store.  The entire room of prospective jurors was dismissed and we couldn't be recalled to jury duty until the following year.

Another time, after sitting in the court room for about an hour, the judge came out and told all of us that we were all dismissed.  He then asked one of the prospective jurors to come and talk to him.  Apparently, someone from the case spoke to this one woman, or the woman was talking about the case to other prospective jurors.  I never did find out what happened, but all 70 of us were sent home--jury service completed for the next 12 months.

  3. Raise your hand if you think Nurie's oldest has a new, appropriate-sized car seat, that the youngest (for now) has an unused, appropriate-sized car seat, and that the baby will have a new, unused, infant car seat.  Anyone???  The "first granddaughter" may get an infant car seat, but I bet it will be from a thrift store or a yard sale.  And that BME will think bedazzeling it will be more important than being unused and the fit.  I'm sure this family thinks any old car seat will be just fine.  I still don't believe that they will bother with a car seat for each kid.

  4. If you don't want to be attacked by your cats, never use Icy Hot, or any other topical pain reliever containing capsaicin.  Capsaicin is a derivative of catnip.  My cats went wild and would not leave me alone.  I never used it again.

Yes! The rest of my family all drives either Toyotas (or Dodges). All the Toyota drivers concede my Honda is a smoother ride by far, but they always still go back to the Toyotas when it is time to buy. LOL My first 2 cars were Accords, but whenever I buy again--hopefully not any time soon--I'd definitely get another CRV. I don't like SUVs that are really big, so I like that the CRV seems sturdier than the car but doesn't feel like I'mI ha driving in stilts.

I have always driven Hondas, with one, horrible exception.  I bought a Toyota Highlander, and it was a total piece of junk.  I had water gush into the passenger footwell from a faulty air conditioning pipe.  I had a Freeon leak in the dash board that they could never find, and I was adding Freeon about every 6 months.  The timing belt went out six months after I bought it (new).  The alternator went out in the middle of the freeway.  I will never buy a Toyota again.  I went back to Honda, and I love my CRV.  My current CRV is a 2015 and I have never had one day of trouble.  Ever.  I think I am a Honda for lifer.

  6. I’m in the North Sea watching the news on the TV in my stateroom. I hope everyone here from Boston is safe and sound. The bridge collapse looks terrifying.  We have two days at sea heading for Narvik. So far it has been smooth sailing.

  8. In this culture, the eldest son is "in charge" of siblings and has special treatment.  JB used to take Josh to the (was it the state senate??) when he was very young, and he received a lot of attention.  He received "special treatment" from his parents when he messed up (badly).  Being in prison is the first time in his life that he is not in charge, and is not getting special treatment.  I don't think the ability to care about others was instilled in him growing up.  It will be interesting to see how he handles life when his sentence is up.

  9. Has anyone else had their screen look strange?  Mine is now slightly over have the screen size, and none of the settings have been changed.  It is the same on other sites, also.  I don't know what happened or how to fix it.

  10. A couple of positives (I know, they are few and far between).

The younger kids, including the babies, are wearing life jackets.  They may have used car seats (if they are lucky) and will soon be swimming in ditches in street clothes, but they do have life jackets for swimming with the turtles.

The birthday post from Heidi's mom was genuine and very, very nice.  It was about Tim, and not the sender.  I do have some hope for Tim.  For his sake, September can't come soon enough.

Of course Nurie paid, Jill certainly won't. And even if she is pregnant, don't they usually have some kind of juice or something she could have? Or better yet, Jill, why don't  you take out your daughters for a treat, you open up  your wallet to pay and choose a place that Nurie could get something. But this outing was all about how special YOU are.

She won't drink coffee, but she will drink Plexus?  Doesn't Plexus specifically say it is not for pregnant women or nursing mothers?  I guess you read what you want to read.

  12. My guess is that since Tim and Heidi have made it clear that they are in charge of what gets posted about them, BME will have to double down on the privacy invasion of Nurie and Renee.  She just has to be in charge and needs the attention, and to feel totally in control of  everyone else.  And since the "headships" don't seem to stop her, it will continue.  One day she will go too far and there will be serious consequences--either the husbands will react, or a lurking fan will cause a problem.  Jill has no common sense.

Jana is 35. Hannie is already 18. Jenni will be 17 this year, Jordyn and Josie are 15 and 14.

JB is slipping on his job.  At least 2 of the girls are old enough to be courting.  Serious question--do you think JB might be having trouble finding husbands for his daughters?  I wonder how many people are keeping their distance from this family now.

Does anyone else here suffer from vertigo? I've had it for years, to varying different degrees,  but the attack I had this week was by far the worst, and still hasn't totally straightened itself out.

My old Dr was awesome with helping me try to figure out what worked for treating, or at least managing it. My new Dr doesn't seem too concerned.  I'm frustrated because I work in a factory and it's not safe for me to be there, but I can't afford to not work.

I'm going to try to get an appointment with my Dr this week and see if he will finally take it seriously and maybe have some other suggestions. Fingers crossed.

Have you ever had a head CT or MRI?  I hate to sound scary, but a head CT after a bad session of vertigo is how they discovered my brain tumor.  Apparently, lots of people have non-cancerous tumors that grow over many years, and are not discovered until something doesn't feel right and they have a CT scan.  See what your doctor thinks.  Good luck.

But then they have cheap weddings that look like they were thrown together at the last minute. Maybe Heidi's family set the date for six months from now so that they can plan something nicer.

Heidi's mother posted a couple of months ago that they have the dress ordered (apparently from a bridal salon and not a thrift shop or borrowed), the venue is set (apparently a real wedding venue and not crashing the in-law's anniversary dinner (see Nurie), and that the caterer is reserved (so apparently a real wedding reception with food (again see Nurie.)  I feel this will be a very nice occasion as opposed to Jessa's melting ice cream in the parking lot.  This   preparation time may seem long for a typical Fundie wedding, but I think this will be a very nice occasion.  I get the feeling that Heidi's family has much higher standards than the Duggars or Tim's family.
