In the bonus footage of the Reading Challenge they show quite a few more of all the queens reads, save Laganja, and I think Darienne was the clear winner with Joslyn a close second. The folks at WoW are surely getting their money's worth from their editing team, as the editors made Darienne look quite a bit more bitter during the reads than I think she was on the whole. Beaucoup shade, while throwing beaucoup shade.

Carmen Carrera claims to have been transitioning for six months when Drag Race started to air. I'd venture to guess she's cheating the dates a little bit and was transitioning while on the show. For that reason, I don't think Carmen is a fair comparison. In any event, I agree that Courtney has a box body and should avoid bikini-esque looks. I see Courtney making the Top Three . I think she'll come harder now that she's received a warning and will rise in the back half of the season. Having seen her on Transfahionable and I Will Survive, I think she's far too warm, charismatic and genuinely helpful to not do well in the makeover challenge. Also, depending on whether the Ball challenge is all make your own (Season 3), or make one out of the 4 looks (Seasons 1, 2, 4, 5), she certainly has the closet and the ability to turn a look. This is something Adore and Joslyn, who I also love and want to make it far, can't do quite as well.

I see Milk going out in this next episode. It's a real disappointment since I thought she'd be a sort of continuity between Sharon and Alaska into this season with a little more genderfuck sprinkled into the mix. Milk, however, has turned out to not be quite as clever as I pegged her for before the season began. I really ahven;t seen any great evidence of Next Drag Superstar Level ability in any of her performances. The greatest problem I have with Milk (and I'll admit ti's my fault for comparing her to Sharon and Alaska) is that she doesn't seem to have a wide berth of pop and subcultural knowledge. With Alaska and Sharon, you always felt like they knew the reference, that at anytime they could site three characters or films that influence the look and actions of the character they've created. Snatch game really help confirm this for me. Julia Childs was a great choice, but she seemed not to know anything about her. I'm thinking Milk could have used Child's height as a joke since she's also super tall herself, done something with a raw (plastic or rubber) turkey or chicken, and since Childs did things that were relatively flashy or strange for the home cook of the time could have run with that theme and go full on Gallagher Sledge-O-Matic with it. So many missed opportunities. Also, as far as her Ru Runway look, there are so many genderfuck/club kid looks of early Ru that could have been used that match Milk's aesthetic and would be shocking to see and I'm sure would have delighted Ru. Workroom Ru was just lazy and looked like the Six Flags old man anyway. Milk has the drag, just not the references that go with it.

*wipes TWoP lipstick message from mirror* Howdy all, I'm the artist formerly known as channelczar from TWoP. My top three are Courtney, DeLa and Bianca with Adore running a close fourth. I think Courtney is laying low for the moment and will raise her game in the back half of the season when there's another music challenge and when the challenges focus on runway looks once again. Seeing her transform strangers on Transfashionable leads me to believe she'll rock the "put someone else in drag" challenge. It should be something she's accustomed to doing, and she has a very warm heart that I'm sure will come through and produce a great narrative for the challenge. I'd also imagine that Adore being a bit green, this is absolutely the type of challenge she'd bottom out. Milk is my biggest disappointment of the season, but I'll wax poetic about it in her thread. I'm overjoyed that we have this space. I wouldn't be able to subsist on the chaos that is the Drag Race subreddit.
