I think Riverdale is supposed to have some light mystery elements so that`s probably why they put it with SPN. Without really knowing the show, I would say it`s an even worse fit with Flash or any of the Berlanti-verse shows.

Rumors are that it might be part of the Berlanti-verse someday.  The Archie comics fall under the DC umbrella, plus it's EP'd by Berlanti.

It's actually not bad, for what it's worth.

Maybe they'll find a different pairing for Riverdale and move Supernatural back to a later slot? I never understood why they paired it with Supernatural anyway.

I always thought they should have put it after The Flash -- lots of beautiful young people.  But what do I know?  ;-)

I worry about them trying to destroy Dean's heroic character more too.

*shrug*  No matter what the show does to Dean, he'll always be a hero to me.  I can't think of anything they could do that would "destroy" Dean's heroic character.

Except Demon Dean, of course.  But that wasn't really Dean and they were (mercifully) short with that storyline.

To be fair, I can believe that Lucifer is too arrogant and self-involved to even notice whether he had successfully stabbed Crowley to death or not.

Hubris.  It'll get the bad guy every time.

Which I expect to be the downfall of both Lucifer and the BMoL this season.  And who's the only one who hasn't underestimated those denim-clad nightmares?  ;-)

  5. I assumed it was Crowley -- Lucifer told them that he killed Crowley personally, blah blah blah.  So, surprise!  Crowley isn't dead!  Shock!  Amazement!  Disbelief!

'Cause, you know, they've never done that before.

I AM REALLY UNHAPPY that ANOTHER ICONIC Dean moment is being used with another character no matter who it is. Just screw them for that.

    Iconic Dean moment?  Hardly.

Meanwhile... is the upside-down dead guy the Lester from the "Lester's down" text?

  7. When Eileen died, I said, "Okay, Crowley's gone too far.  They have to kill him off now."

As the episode progressed, I became increasingly convinced it would happen.  Then Lucifer started playing with his food and I knew it wouldn't happen.  Especially when the camera panned away from Crowley.  They already pulled this trick before, when Cas was under Rowena's spell and was supposed to kill Crowley.  Lazy writers.

Oh, other stuff happened in the episode, I suppose, but it was all rather meh-worthy.

I wish I could be even more like Demented, though, and say that I don't think the writing is sometimes biased, but I'll admit my flaw and say that sometimes I can't... but for me, my ire in that regard is mostly directed towards Carver.

A viewpoint I completely understand, for what it's worth.  I hated what Carver did with Sam in S8... but then, I hated that he gave us Demon Dean, too.  That's something I can never forgive him for.

So, you see, when I say that I don't think that Carver necessarily intentionally threw either character under the bus, I'm referring to the specific instance of making the other look better.  I believe that Carver wrote for the show with no regard for what the fans might think of what he was doing.  If anything, I think his POV was closer to something a Marvel comics executive said a few years ago:

Of course, I could quite easily be wrong.  :-)

Well, maybe just a little evil.  From me, you really should consider that a compliment.  ;-)

And then there are us divided fans.  Half see through a Dean lens.  The other half view through their Sam lens.  And never the twain shall meet.  We pretty much argue about nothing else. Dean is a leader, Sam is a follower – that strain has followed throughout the series (but then I'm a Dean girl and wrong in the eyes of a Sam girl).

Folks that purport they're for BOTH brothers... don't believe it!

Never having been involved in a fandom before, and this is my only one ever, the extremes have been surprising to me. Guess I was a little naive.

*sigh*  You really should take some time and read through the various threads.  Not necessarily all of them (over 200 episode threads, yike-a-roonies!), but I really think it would help to get a feel of the various posters around here.

I heartily disagree that there aren't "bi-bro" (but not "bros only") fans.  Quite a few of us distinguish ourselves that way and I feel our postings reflect that position.  While I have slightly more affinity for Dean than Sam, I do not believe that either character has been intentionally written to prop the other up.

Call it an unpopular opinion if you like, but I believe that Sam and Dean are flawed heroes -- which is why I like them!  I don't want to watch a show about characters that always win, that never lose a fight.  I don't want to see characters that always make the right decision.  How dull would that be?  How do they learn, how do they grow, if they are not allowed (within the narrative) to make mistakes?

  10. See, I struggled, I really did.  Part of me said, "Leave the set up.  Let's see who knocks it down."

But the bitch in me won in the end (as it often does) and said, instead, "Let's ruin all their fun!  Muahahahahahahaha!"  ;-)

  11. I wonder if he capitalized that D on purpose.  If you're not a Stephen King fan, you won't get the reference, but....

Meanwhile, I wonder what's he got behind his back?  Other than his hand, of course.  That's not a natural pose.  ;-)

As I said originally, I don't care what Dean's response is to it - even him affirming that he agreed to it* will be okay -  but he (and we as his fans) absolutely deserve to hear it.

As a Dean fan, I'd like to say that I don't need (or deserve) to hear it.
