  1. I have enjoyed Melissa on SNL, but I thought she was not a particularly funny panelist. I would've been fine with her being cut. Though I'd also be fine to just change the format of the show so all 3 go to the final round. After all, the last-place panelist who was supposed to have gotten eliminated seems to win a good percentage of the time!
  2. Gina is great. I think she'll be a fine addition to the team. She's also in her 40s, so she's a bit older/more experienced than a some of the other correspondents. NEW YORK, March 16, 2017 - The Daily Show with Trevor Noah adds Gina Yashere as the latest contributor to join "The Best F#@ing News Team." She was tapped by Executive Producer, Writer and Host, Trevor Noah to make her first appearance on the show tonight, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT with an in-studio desk piece. Yashere (@ginayashere) was born & raised in London UK, of Nigerian parents, and previously worked as an elevator engineer for Otis. Gina has been a stand-up comedian and television star in the UK for several years now, appearing on iconic British TV shows such as Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week, as well as creating & performing popular comedic characters onThe Lenny Henry Show.

  18. Trevor's new comedy special, Afraid of the Dark, is available today on Netflix.
  19. I missed the first airing, but it looks like it's going to be rerun this Saturday just after midnight. (It's also available on demand.) From the Salon article: "As Wood waited in the back of the club and thought about a new opening, his thoughts were interrupted by a whoosh and roar. A woman’s hair fell into a candle and caught on fire." I saw that exact same thing happen once in a comedy club in San Francisco. Next time I went there, the real candles had been replaced by those "flameless" votives. Drunk people & open flames don't mix!
  20. Clip shows, though I don't know if there'll be any new wrap-around material (i.e., Trevor introducing the clips).
  21. That was a very fun book!! I couldn't put it down and read the whole thing in one evening, which is rare for me.

  24. The book was AMAZING. I am recommending it to everyone, even if they never watch TDS. I learned a lot about South Africa, but Trevor truly had a singular upbringing!
