  1. Raymond Chandler wrote best about the Santa Ana winds in his short story Red Wind.

“There was a desert wind blowing that night. It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands' necks. Anything can happen.”

Also, Lim should file a suit against that restaurant - CA is a state that is well known for having people file ADA suits that border on frivolous (like some suit trolls will come in, measure a countertop, and sue if it is 0.01 inches off)

It is my understanding that older, historic buildings can be exempted from ADA compliance, but that building, and those stairs did not look old enough to qualify. (Maybe the building is compliant if one offers two hefty men to lift you?)

  3. I wanted a scene at the beginning where Dixon once again kicks butt on the streets of New York. I would loved one of those every week instead of the random small talk of extras before finding the dead body. I've seen enough of those to last a lifetime.

People on this show never shave their heads for brain surgery. There must be a supply chain issue preventing the show from getting bald caps. /snerk

I have honestly wondered what's in the actors' contract.: 'call it brain surgery if you must but don't touch my gorgeous mane." Just cut between the follicles.

Only on TV does someone wake up from experimental brain surgery capable of having a cogent conversation about detecting no pain and no sadness. Way to wrap things up quickly.

That final scene with him was everything. This season there were , for me, only three memorable scenes - Susie's funeral scene, Abe and Moishe in this episode, and Lenny's scene. I thought it was in general a meh season. Everything blends together and we nearly stopped watching the show entirely.

You forgot to mention the Dorothy in Kansas strip scene! (I am kidding but I am impressed that someone thought they could go there.)

This reminds me of an episode from SVU where a mother slept with a school official to get her kid into a prestigious school, but we find out later he was only pretending to be a school official. Benson badgered the victim to press charges and the ADA to prosecute the guy on rape charges. The case is lost and the son of the victim commits suicide. Chalk up another fatality due to Benson's over zealousness.

That "prestigious school" was Hudson U. "Babies, don't let your mamas sleep with Hudson U. officials." That's Willie's second verse.

I am legit concerned for poor baby Jeon-Yi, presumably stuck in her dads backseat for hours at a time for weeks now as her dad drives all over the country looking for her mom, spending her first Christmas staying in a Red Roof motel as her dad cries over his take out cheeseburgers. I hope she likes hotel beds and gas station baby food!

I am too, If this were real life, I wonder if Child Protective Services would be following that car.

Is David still in town? Maybe Harris can stay with him (he can remain off screen if JG isn't available). If she stays with Jackie (or DJ) then Darlene will certainly find out so I assume she won't want to do that (because she won't want Darlene to know she was probably right). They don't seem to even talk to David anymore.

Maybe she could stay with Ben in the hardware store.

Linda has always been a 911 dispatcher (in a recurring role), and displayed more kindness and regard than Claudette deserved. I didn't watch all of season one so can't speak to it, but I know the social worker is a different actress who hasn't been seen much in the past couple of seasons.

I thought it was a rookie wardrobe mistake that Claudette and Linda were both wearing red outfits (those weren't their uniforms, were they?)

The cat arson thing....I just fucking can't. Any sort of animal cruelty portrayed as entertainment is a hard safeword for me. I'm a cat dad, including our dear sweet little pain-in-the-arse all black kittie Pixel. That storyline seriously didn't belong in an otherwise good show. Nitpicking, but that was a roaring conflagration they had going--there probably wouldn't even have been a skeleton left if he was the origin of that. And with that fire both in the rafters and through the floor and into the basement there's no way that's getting extinguished by one engine crew with a couple of hand lines.

I agree. However,  I was relieved to hear that cats usually survive fires, as they tend to fend for themselves. I hope that is really true, as we are a four-cat family.

and the producers want Gael to go back to oiling up and taking his shirt off rather than playing daddy.

Why is that so funny? It is just like the Callie's brother line about him, "Whose the demi-god in the backseat?"

After doing some research, the actress' name is Esmeralda Pimentel.  The real interesting thing is that she and the hot doctor are dating in real life!

Wow! Are they going to have beautiful babies. 'God spent a little more time' on each one of them.
